A strainer (Preferably one with a very fine mesh so you don't get too much grit at the bottom of your mug/pot), an electric kettle (preferably one with different temperature settings for different teas), and if you want to make two or three mugs of tea at a time, maybe a teapot or two. For storing tea and keeping it fresh long-term, you will either want to get double-lidded tins, or I prefer dark glass jars, such as amber glass or violet glass.

If you want to get into gongfu style brewing, that's a whole other animal in terms of equipment.

Edit: oh, and if you want to be extra fancy about weighing out exactly how much tea you are using, a pocket scale is also a nice thing to have.

And ditch the OEM scale that comes with the kit, go for this or this. A digital scale makes weighing your charges much easier and quicker.

Notice how they're exactly the same thing as the Hornady or Frankford Arsenal, except for fall less $$. Everything nowadays comes out of the same factories in the East, and resellers just slap their label on and charge whatever they think their targets are willing to pay. '

I personally got that Smart Weigh and it works great.

I use this one

It can handle up to 86 pounds, and it’s pink 😊

Cheap scales like the gemini 20 are terribly inconsistent, and are not safe to use for tianeptine and noopept.

I recommend a gempro 250, which in my experience is accurate to 2mg. If that is out of your budget, the cheapest scale I can recommend is the Jennings JSVG-20. These scales will not only give you peace of mind and safety, but will help you narrow down the minimum effective dosages.

Wow, someone else who is dealing with multiple health issues. It's a real struggle. The meds have side effects and then you need something else to control the side effect, which also has side effects. On and on it goes.

My 16 year old kidney cat had her annual visit and I mentioned she is drinking and peeing a lot. Now it appears we are going down the diabetes path. I'm wondering if this is caused by the steroid she's been taking. We'll see.

I have a postal scale similar to this one: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Shipping-Postage-Battery-Included/dp/B01DF28A3S/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=postal+scale

It has 0.1 oz resolution at cat weights and has DC power instead of batteries. It's much smaller than the baby scales. Cat may have to be in a box or enclosure to fit on the scale, but it has a tare function.

Probably like these. I'm not sure what weight, but they're a pretty standard shape for weights used on balancing scales.

No question they would look very stylish holding down papers and maps on any modern dictator's desk.

In my super limited experience, a 0.1g scale is no good. You won't really know if you have 0.1 or 0.2 g on there. I tried it and really had no idea what I was looking at with such small amounts. Get a 0.01g scale.

I just got this $15 scale today and it seems to be decent:

Look on amazon, its just a small digital scale like this: High Accuracy Mini Electronic Digital Pocket Scale Jewelry Diamond Gold Coin Calibration Weighing Balance Portable 500G/0.01G Counting Function Blue LCD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0736QWVT2/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_TG4gDbMB3G0J4

Doesn't need to be too accurate by jewelry standards , you aren't weighing diamonds

I know that frustration. Have you tried weighing your grind? I solved a lot of my problems by getting one of these http://amzn.com/B000FIASRM and started weighing shots until I got it right. I pull really consistent shots now every single time. It's a small inconvenience but I think really worth it

u/thefloyd · 2 pointsr/skeptic

$9 with free shipping, dude.

I have an older model of the same scale and it cost me $20 at the corner store. It will measure anything from .1 to 500g. The model from the link goes .01 to 600g.

Something like this?

Seems like a weird question for /r/msp /s

u/101stjetmech · 1 pointr/reloading

Throwing charges to within a grain of target and trickling up, just the way you are, is a time-honored system of accurate loading. It works.

The Lee measure can throw charges to within .1 grain with some powders, about what you're throwing now, something like H4895, IMR 4350, etc. but it takes good, practiced technique. They don't play well with fine ball or other small spherical and flake powders. Tolerances are too loose. Eventually you'll probably upgrade that to one of the others with a cast housing, steel barrels and adjustments. They give the reliability to directly throw full charges directly into cases. I charge 223/308/30-06, 50 at a time which is normal for anyone not using a progressive.

As to scales, just about every manufacturer sells a scale based on the Ohaus 5-0-5 design. They are magnetically dampened and about as fast to operate as a digital, give unquestionable dependability for decades. The basic standard for reloading.

They look exactly the same but are painted to match the manufacturers color. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733LX8V1/?tag=accuratescom-20

Here's used ones as little as $15.

https://thea.com/Powder-Measures-Scales-Ohaus-Reloading-Scale/

It would be a very good upgrade in scales.

I'd jump on the $15 one but have 2 already.

I use this. It's easier & faster to mix by weight rather than volume. Look for jewelry scale since it'll measure 10ths of grams. I use this site for clones & modify recipes to my taste. Also, bullcityflavors.com

I have a "postal" style scale, too. Works very nicely, has a "tare" feature so that you can zero out your containers, does grams and oz both. Would buy again. Mine's a pelouze 5 lb capacity. Looks like this

Countertop gram scale: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013WU0DX8/

Hanging scale: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CTFKNY6

..together, under $23 total.

Grab yourself a jewelry scale, like this one and measure accordingly. If you weighed out 0.06g of distillate, that’s approximately 5mg THC. Might be a pain to weigh out every time you want some but soon enough you should be able to start to eyeball it instead accurately enough. You’d get like 16 doses out of a single gram of diss.

u/griz120 · 1 pointr/asktrees

Buy a cheap .01gr scale. You can see hundredths of a gram which is useful when you buy that small amount. I'd weigh what you buy next time and mention it if there's an issue.

Scale that I have: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00123AVTO

u/IANALAMA · 1 pointr/Ultralight

I bought this scale under recommendation by a friend who, of all things, makes and sells customized action figures and other unique collectible nerd shit, it's basically his postal scale for shipping junk. measures grams very accurately, max weight is 50lbs.

u/Sterling_Archer87 · 1 pointr/Flipping

I got this one when it was on sale and it works just fine, but for the now $5 more /u/cakeisatruth probably posted a better one since it has the display that can move. It's a slight annoyance to have to bend a bit and look under the package as I weigh something big.

As far as label printer goes, I have always had a hard time justifying it since I can/did find a printer for $10 with extra ink on craigslist and pay less than $.03 to print off a regular paper/tape it on. Just seemed like a long road to make it worth my while for a label printer, especially since half the things I sell go local. Just really depends on you there.

This is the scale that I've been using. At the time I bought it, it was a bit cheaper than that.

When I bought it, I only had the kingsnake, so a small scale worked fine for me. If you want a scale like that, I might suggest something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-Black-Digital-Pocket/dp/B0012N1NAA/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1324149891&sr=1-1

It's better than mine in that it allows you to place up to 1000 grams on the scale (versus 550 for mine), while having the same accuracy (0.1 gram increments). And it's cheaper and has a larger weighing platform than mine.

However, shortly after I got that scale, I got the python. And that wasn't a problem originally, as she weighed about the same as my young kingsnake. But, that wasn't the case for long, and she's getting too damn big to cram onto that little scale.

So I looked around for a scale that was (1) cheap, (2) would accept more weight, and (3) had a large platform. I ended up buying this a few days ago: http://www.amazon.com/TFY-Digital-Tempered-Kitchen-Scale-Black/dp/B004UJ7988/ref=sr_1_42?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1324149612&sr=1-42

It's finicky, but for 12 bucks, it'll do what I need to, and it weighs accurately. It only has an accuracy of 1 gram (versus 0.1), but given that I'll be using it with the ball python, who already weighs close to 250 grams, fractions of a gram aren't really all that important anymore.

Some of those scales are really small. This one does 21ozs for $9 and fits in your pocket.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0009NNMJO/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/176-2648064-3486345

u/Amadameus · 1 pointr/chemistry

This guy weighs down to increments of 0.1oz, which translates to ~3 grams. For $25 that's not too bad.

This guy seems like crappy plastic to me, but it claims to deliver 0.1g accuracy. Personally I wouldn't trust a 'precision' instrument that's this cheap, but it's up to you.

Beware the nicer scales - they're commonly used by drug dealers to measure things out, and buying an accurate scale can put you on a watch list.
