Having already cracked the edge of mine, I wish I'd gone to the dark cased side earlier. The watch and an industrial environment just aren't a good match.

I've found the clear protectors sufficient for my needs.

u/Mike_725 · 7 pointsr/AppleWatch

I use a bumper case for my Apple Watch Series 4 44m, and although I hate to use a case to hide the amazing look of the watch itself, the case helps so much when I accidentally hit my watch on surfaces and areas where it could possibly damage the watch.

Here’s the case I use. There’s really no need to put a screen protector due to the case proving a raised bump:

If you’re looking for a screen protector, I’d highly recommend this one. I do physical labor as part of my work which involves lifting objects, using tools and equipment, and working in a shop where there’s stuff all around that can be bumped into. I’ve banged my Versa into things a bunch of times but there hasn’t been a single scratch on it since this protected covers every millimeter of the watch that’s visible besides the buttons (it wraps all around to the back and there’s holes for the buttons). I was kind of wondering how well it would actually work until I smacked it into something which caused a fairly large and niticible scrap on the protector. I took the cover off to check the watch out and there wasn’t a single mark on it, and it still looks like new even after having it for around roughly six months. The only “issues” there are is that it might get dirty underneath and you have to remove the cover to charge it, but it literally takes one second to remove and put back on and all you need to do to clean it is take a damp towel and wipe it out.

I kind of went overboard on the accessories when I got my Versa since I was excited so here’s a few other things I picked up:

Versa charging dock: I wasn’t a fan of the charger that came with the Versa soI went with this. It’s nice and compact and pretty well made. Holds onto the watch well and charges very quickly.

Lether bands: I picked up four of these in different colors. Haven’t worn any of them a ton and only do so when I go out to do something nice which isn’t often lol (movies, dinner, etc.), but they’re comfortable and look good. Well made from what I see too.

Stainless steal bands: I’ve worn these more often than the previous ones and they’re really comfortable, you don’t even feel them at all. They fit into place perfectly as well and hook up easily too. I’m probably going to start wearing them more.

Rubber sport band: By far my favorite band and it’s the one I use daily. Stylish and durable and it’s one of the few times where I’ve seen a product advertise air holes as a feature and they actually work. Like I said I do a lot of physical work and I also lift weights, and I found that my wrist would become uncomfortable under the watch. This band actually does breath and I feel no discomfort. I did have a major problem getting it to hook in and considered sending it back at first, but it just simply doesn’t hook into the slots like other bands. It has the same mechanism but you kind of need to angle it downward and push it into place. Once I got that figured out, it didn’t become a problem at all.

Yes! Definitely read the User Guide !

Also... my klutzy self recommends you get AppleCare, and then double down and get some kind of protective case. I am using this one and so far (over a month later), it’s working well, looking good, and has been well worth the money.

u/teedubyap · 4 pointsr/AppleWatch

I've had really good luck with these. If you take your time and follow the instructions they work really well and they're cheap. Screen Protector [6-PACK] RinoGear Sport Premium HD Invisible https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G7UJI2M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_CbHQhdKl7Kgrk

I have these for my 44mm S4. Easy to install, aren't expensive and work just fine. Doesn't affect the display clarity at all.

u/gg06civicsi · 3 pointsr/AppleWatch

Ok I would then suggest something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KVRXRBZ which will protect it against falls and bumps.

My experience with the clear tpu cases is that it gets annoying when water gets in between the case and glass. It also yellows and collects scratches over time. Also the touch response sometimes gets messed up pissing you off.

u/TheSurferGeek · 3 pointsr/AppleWatch

It looks like the "wet" application type of protector, which is typical for screens with curved surfaces. Leave it on if it's in good shape. You can always get another...

I like this case because it’s really thin compared to a lot: Apple Watch Series 4 Case 44mm,Monoy [3 - Pack] Soft TPU Protective Cover Bumper Case iWatch Series 4 44mm (Clear, Series 4 44mm) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HGR9Y38/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NXG4BbSAYCCE9

I like this screen protector. It’s wet application which I’ve never done before but as long as you watch the video you’ll be good: LK [6 Pack] Screen Protector for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CXZ7K51?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I got this one for my dad. It's not bulky and it's aesthetically pleasing and offers good protection but it needs to be paired with a screen protector, there are many available on amazon.

Same boat my man ... I love the midnight black but if I am getting the watch I am getting the bigger battery and bigger face. Not going to settle with the 42mm just because of the color. Looks like we got to go with the 46mm in silver.

Edit - Found this on amazon that might interest you https://www.amazon.com/iHYQ-Scractch-Resist-Shock-Proof-All-Around-Protective/dp/B07H9T55R7/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1539569392&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=46mm+watch+band&psc=1

u/Symonds2309 · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

I used this screen protector overall very satisfied with it for the cheap cost on Amazon . Getting the screen protector to sit perfectly took awhile but once you get the curved corners to stick it's perfect 👌🏼

u/matamoose1 · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

The ones I got on amazon in preparation for the watch are: https://www.amazon.com/LK-Protector-Compatible-Anti-Bubble-Replacement/dp/B07CXN96BT/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1537218011&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=apple+watch+screen+protector&dpPl=1&dpID=51itVrooElL&ref=plSrch

Even though it says 38 mm it fits the 40mm perfectly out to the edge of the screen

If you go with this one, watch the install video first, it’s a little different than ones I’ve put on before, but no bubbles and I usually suck at that!

u/Joshalander · 2 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

Got it from amazon! Going strong after a full year :)

UMTELE Rugged Apple Watch Case... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076MLGLV7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/melatonic_ · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

I scratched mine up pretty bad while moving a mattress down my hallway. Not something I do regularly, but I was pretty unhappy with how it looked after, so now I use this LK screen protector to smooth out the scratches. I don't notice the protector on there anymore, and that little peace of mind is nice to have in my case.

u/Cedric35 · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

I have this one: Julk [2-Pack] Case for Apple Watch Series 4 Screen Protector 44mm, 2018 New iWatch Overall Protective Case TPU HD Clear Ultra-Thin Cover for Apple Watch Series 4 (44mm) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQRP3JR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_rkOkDbKA58K4G

I definitely changes the look of the watch, but I’ll take it for the protection it offers. Some people hate the idea of using a watch case; I equate to a phone case. Some people use them; some don’t.

I'm taking my chances with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Military-Grade-RinoGear-Invisible-Replacements/dp/B01G7UJI2M/
Not sure if it will be any different from the Skinomi one. Interested to hear if anyone else has had experiences with RinoGear/Rinoskin. FWIW, fakespot thinks reviews of Rinogear are more reliable than reviews of the Skinomi.

I ordered this case/screen protector. It hasn't arrived yet so I can't personally say if I like it or not. But according to reviews and pictures, It looks like a pretty slim case that will protect both the screen and the casing of the AWS.

Delta shield: https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Compatible-DeltaShield-Military-Grade-Anti-Bubble/dp/B07485CVVR.

I put it on about a week ago and no complaints so far. Just make sure to cure it overnight like the directions recommend.

u/deckyon · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I received my X-Doria case yesterday and I am very happy with it. It fits very snug, I like the rubber between the metals. It is sharp looking as well. One other thing I find that is quite nice is the case still allows access to the digital crown for both pressing and rotating, but it protects it very nicely. The case does not interfere with my screen protector nor does it interfere with charging.

It is a little larger than I thought I would like, however it is so light and looks like it is a part of the watch to begin with that I dont really notice.

This one will be my everyday case.

Here you go. Also membrane-like and full-screen protection. I have it and highly recommend. Apple Watch Screen Protector, [Full Coverage], JETech SOFTOUGH 3-Pack 42mm TPE Ultra HD Screen Protector Film for Apple Watch 42mm Serial 3, Serial 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAPP39S?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Ah, man, I feel your pain. I ended up not sending it off. I bought a two pack of protectors for it and figured I'd put one on until I was ready/able to send it off.

After I thoroughly cleaned the face and scratch, I put the screen protector on and found the scratch was almost unnoticeable.

Someone recommended jeweler's Rouge, but I couldn't find anything about using it on a touch screen and I didn't want to make things worse.

Screen protector is dirt cheap on amazon-
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06X17LHWK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497340598&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=lg+watch+sport+screen+protector&dpPl=1&dpID=51UG7ccpDXL&ref=plSrch

If you go the lg route, I'd be really interested to know how much they end up charging.

I haven't tried it yet, but I just ordered this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H2CLFZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I couldn't find something more transparent to protect it, though. There might be a market for a transparent vinyl overlay!

u/NevermindMeFuckStick · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

Check out the Julk case. It covers the watch, doesn't look bad at all, and doesn't inhibit use.

This specifically why I went with stainless black for the sapphire crystal. After my wife abused her SS series 3 for a year with a still perfect crystal, I was convinced. I tried many screen protectors on the series 2 and hated all of them. I eventually landed on one of these snap-on things which managed to take all of the abuse and save the series 2. https://www.amazon.com/Apple-Watch-Case-Mangix-Protective/dp/B01MQFVIU2 (for the S2 obviously) I just didn’t like that it made my aluminum spit look like a shiny stainless but it wasn’t bad looking.

Of course the thing pops off on occasion but it’s rare.

That being said, if I worked at a job that was frequently hostile to the watch, I might want protection even for a SS I’m not sure.

This looks like a similar product for the S4. https://www.amazon.com/Plating-Protective-Scratch-Resistant-Protector/dp/B07HD4KRKV And I’d use it if I had another aluminum. But I’m gonna try going bare with the stainless this time.

EDIT2: This is interesting. I might not hate this. https://www.amazon.com/SLEO-Protector-Hardness-Coverage-Tempered/dp/B07H9VSL4R

I used a bumper case similar to the one you listed and really like it. Here is the one I am using made by SIRUIBO. Just make sure you get a color that goes well with your wristband.

Has anyone tried this one? I have this one and its not bad. It adds a bit of extra bulk to the already bulky Ticwatch Pro and the matte finish can eventually rub off. I still recommend getting one because I have had many occasions where the cover saved my watch from being torn up.

u/Stephimc · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I don’t use any case but I do have a clear screen protector on my watch. I bump my screen daily and it saves me stress. I swear by[this product](Apple Watch Screen Protector... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07483LGRB?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf)

I cant even tell i have anything on my screen. if you’re worried about screen scratches, i highly recdamend it. it doesnt ruin the look of your watch. If put in correct, you wont even know its on.

u/AndromedaGreen · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I’ve known three people IRL that cracked their screen, and I am a walking disaster, so there was no chance I was going without some type of protection. I paired this case with this screen protector. All in all I recommend both of them, but two small things. 1) you have to make sure you get the corners exactly right with the screen protector or else it will peel. If you get them on there correctly they’ll stay put. 2) sometimes after working out I have to take the case off because sweat gets trapped underneath it. I just take it apart, rinse it off, let it dry and reassemble.

How long has it been since you took off the case? This is a common complaint of watch cases. The way to prevent it is to occasionally take off the case and clean the case and watch. I wear cases and I haven't had any scratches.

A final thought/guess: If you have one of those cases that goes around the screen and watch body (some people call it a watch condom), aren't they fairly loose and it's easy for water and dirt and etc to get under it? Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8PNEFN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xPoLzbAT6ANHB
Maybe that's how it happened. My cases fit very tightly on my watch and I've never seen them actually dirty when I take them off.

My default band used to be my Nike clone band in blue + white. I have a brown leather band with is handsome. I do have a silver S4 that is covered up by the bumper, but due to the wear and tear it’s getting it’s probably a good idea to leave it on. The silver looks awesome on any band.

I swim with it multiple times a week and it has held up. IMO, most of the bad reviews are from people that don't know how to put them on correctly.
