So you've got 250ish for a package for your son? Instead of buying that one I'll make one for you!

GoG Enmey Gun $125

Proto Primo Hopper $14

Ninja 48/3000 HPA Tank $50

JT Proflex $63

For the around $250 mark you will not get a better deal.

Came here to say this. It was solid yellow and he popped it out intact perfectly.

Comments on the other post say they're reballs, reusable plastic balls used for training. You're supposed to turn down the pressure so they don't do as much damage, which this guy didn't do i guess.

u/Pattycaaakes · 3 pointsr/airsoft

Check out UTG scopes. They make great (for airsoft)(I have one of their red dot sights and it's really high quality) products that are designed for real steal weapons. So while they might be a budget brand for real firearms they are great for airsoft because there is no recoil or anything that would cause your sight to lose it's zero.

I know the one I linked is more expensive than the one you posted about but they have some that are less expensive than the one I linked.

I've found it's spring works well in mega blasters.
also part #88284 3/4 x 10-1/2 compression springs serve as a good upgrade to the marker.

From what I have seen, for a Carbon Fiber tank that runs in this size, the closest thing to your price point is probably Empire's. It's $140 (a little over your request), but still pretty good.

Yes, this thought occurred to me as I was typing this. I think this evening I might mess around with it and see if there is a sweet spot on the nut that would still allow the QD functionality without the loosening of the mount.

Lesson learned! Second lesson in red dots here....first lesson was that I bought a UTG red dot (very similar to THIS one) on the same day that I bought the AR a few years back. Thought it was super tacticool. Little did younger, less knowledgable, me realize that I just bought a honking POS. Wouldn't hold zero, fuzzy dot, big, bulky, etc....

So I used irons for the past 4 years until I decided I wanted a dot. Should have been saving that whole time and I could have gotten whatever the hell I wanted, but life gets in the way of luxury purchases like optics (at least when you're not counting on them for your life, which I am most definitely not) so when I finally bit the boolit, PA fit the bill!

u/ChiPhiMike · 2 pointsr/paintball

Get each thing individually. Packages are a rip off and most of the stuff that comes with it is complete trash.

The Empire Helix is the cheapest dual pane mask I think? Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

The Proto Primo is the best gravity fed hopper you can buy. The next best thing would probably be a used Halo B or something, and that's gonna run you around $50 or so. And for a mech gun you don't really need a force fed.

This 47/3000 HPA tank is cheap and suitable. Cheapest I think you can find.

35 + 12 + 40 = 87. Round up to 90 for the sake of simplicity and shipping. Might even be closer to $100. Leaves you between 0 and 75 given your earlier stated budget.

Everybody around here will tell you that a GoG eNMEy is the best mechanical gun you can buy. And they would be right. But they're $150 new and around $100 used. If you can find a used one and don't mind the extra scratch, go for it and you'll have a pretty good budget setup. If not, you can find a 98 Custom or something along those lines and still have a good time out there. Search the used markets. A great thing about 98 Customs is that they're rental guns. Fields that either shut down or are changing stock will often sell off their old rentals cheap as dirt. I've seen 98s go for as low as $30.

Granted, if you're buying a rental gun you can assume it's been beat to shit. But these things really are tanks. They're kind of a pain in the ass to work on, but there's really not too much to mess with on them internally. If you're even reasonably handy, it shouldn't be something to worry about. Another similar blowback marker that's used as rentals are BT-4s. Not sure if they're really functionally any better or worse than 98s though.

If you have any more questions I'd be happy to help. Unfortunately paintball is an expensive sport/hobby to get into and your budget doesn't give much room to work with. Good luck and have fun out there.

u/high_meme_lord · 2 pointsr/humansvszombies

Here is a cheap paintball pod pouch that I use for magazine storage. It holds two 18-rnds per pocket, four total. It just has simple belt loops, and it comes with its own belt with a plastic buckle. Simple, but it works well enough for me. The pouches are a little tight, you might have to practice reloading quickly with them, because if you're not careful they can get snagged.

Here's a 3-pocket variant, I don't have this one but I assume it would hold 6 mags just fine

u/PLaGuE- · 2 pointsr/ArtisanVideos

or maybe a 'cyclone feed'

u/lokii_ · 2 pointsr/paintball

You would rather get these if your really keen on getting a mask that fully covers your head. It is a bit more pricey, but it is worth it since it will be very comfortable and is a cousin to one of the most reputable googles in paintball, the JT Proflex.

u/PBDwarf · 1 pointr/paintball
  1. Buy player's spare patrs pack and Flack Orings kit. Most probably you will have to change ball detents and some orings right after you receive the marker. Their quality really bad ftom the shelf(I've trhee of them in my team all three did not fire when they came new). And relube everyting as they may come completely dry.

  2. Check magfedproshop and rockstartactical for T15 shrouds and stosks for customization. And they accept all real steel sights grips etc that are mounted on picattiny rail.

  3. T15 uses their own barrels, so you'll have to buy T15-autokocker or T15-A5 adapter if you do not want to be limited to FS barrels only.

  4. There are carbon fiber 17, 22, 25/4500 etc tanks on amazon and ebay. They are not called paintball tanks. Check high pressuure tanks like below IORMAN 0.35L 4500psi Carbon Fiber Air Tank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FYTL3PV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fEcRCbA56ADB7
u/alizaman · 1 pointr/paintball

not really. the gun is okay, i guess. You can easily do better though. most of the stuff that kit includes are just old/dated items that retailers are trying to unload on people who don't know better.

if youre trying to stay on the cheap side, something like these would be a better option. The most important thing is going to be a good, comfortable mask. i'd prefer a JT proflex over a flex 8, but i couldnt find one on amazon. you could easily find one for the same price on other paintball specific sites. other than that, you have a high quality air tank, a high quality budget marker, and a high quality budget hopper that will actually feed paint. The only thing this doesn't include is a pack and remote which i think you should do without for now. if you need a pack, those can be had for as low as $25.

You'd be much happier with the APP Sight Feeder. The Tac50 is more form over function whereas the Sight Feeder is a more tried & true design.

yes like this but only in .50, they are marketed as "low impact" they don't shoot very far but they work well enough. you can put a bunch of kids on a speedball field with them and they won't hurt each other.

Well it goes like this: a marker can only perform as well/quickly as it can get air and paint, so you always want to have your loader and tank outperform your marker, and never have your marker outperform your loader/tank.

Basically, if you think you're going to stick with it, I'd recommend spending a little more. If you can up your budget for marker/tank/loader to about $350, you'd be in business and wouldn't need to upgrade for a while.

Try and find a used loader such as an Invert Halo Too, Empire Prophecy Z2, or Dye Rotor in the $50-75 range.

A tank, you're probably going to be able to find some 45-50 ci or 68 ci 4500 psi tanks for $80. There is a link in r/paintball right now for an Empire 68ci/4500psi tank brand new on Amazon for $105, too, and that would be good for ~5 years.

Now let's call it $200 left over for a marker. You could easily find a used Invert Mini for that price, which is a marker perfectly capable of holding it's own at any level. Also, that puts you in range for Proto Rail (aka PMR) markers from 2010-2012, some Proto M7s (a great marker!), or a first-gen Planet Eclipse Geo, or a used Etek3 (keep in mind these would all be used at that price, but it's always better to buy a cheaper used marker than to buy a new marker and continually be upgrading, because that would ultimately cost more).

I'm sure I left out some points, so I'll edit as I think of them, but feel free to ask any other questions.

EDIT: look thru all the PbNation B/S/T sections too. There are always good deals

These hold 4x buzzbee 20s and elite mags pretty well. You have to cut the flaps off to use with 18/20s, they're not long enough.

It can be a tight fit though for non-buzzbee mags (elite style without rounded edges), wearing them in helps, and probably your seam cut idea, but I never had to do that. Worker 22s won't fit 4 (can only fit 2 in total).

u/dabluebunny · 1 pointr/airsoft

These would be better less prone to fogging so you won't have to worry about him taking them off as much to clear the fog. (You tell him not to, but I see it all the time on the fields.)

I'd say save up a little while longer and get a decent electronic marker. I was in the same boat as you a few months ago and bought a Tippmann A-5 Package off of amazon.com
I've since replaced the mask it came with, tank, remote line, and got a new barrel for the gun and I'm still not close to done. Starter markers are great for woodsball, but if you're anything like me after a few days playing woodsball you're going to start to have an itch for speedball or xball. Now I'm wishing I had just gotten an electronic marker at the beginning instead of the A-5.

u/Nixflyn · 1 pointr/HobbyDrama

Hey OP, if you haven't already, I recommend getting a paintball chronograph to measure dart speed. They're very easy to use and will shut down any arguments they make as to "my gun is just loud" or some such. Safety checking is very fast when using one of these.

I was a paintball ref for 3 years and routinely threw people out for adjusting their markers mid-game.

u/seanbperiod · 1 pointr/SodaStream

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking too. I mean, what could be really be inside a metal tank?

Which model do you have? I'd like to find the largest one that will fit within the casing of the Source with the door/cover if possible. Also is the Amazon pricing good, or could I get a better price from a sporting goods store?

The box folds down very small for easy portability while the line is in it. Arborists use very colorful line and bags so they can find them easily. My home trees are not that tall but it is very easy to loose the end of the string as I tend to use black paracord.

Personally I would go for this hopper in the link below. It’s pretty much the go to pump hopper. A 45/4500 tank is usually the tank of choice. You can get away with a tiny little 13ci if you want but I prefer the 45 so I don’t have to fill up between every game and if I’m at a big scenario game I know I won’t run out of air. The 45ci also fits my shoulder much better.

They never fog, unlike most other goggles that don't have a fan.
