Is the bumper cracked? This is an easy fix.

1. Buy a new one here.
   
2. Remove the battery pack for safety.
   
3. Unscrew the shell from the back using a Torx size 8 screwdriver
   
4. Replace the broken bumper for new.
   
5. When screwing it back together, lightly tighten all screws in place, then hand tighten all of them. Otherwise you might get a bit of creaking in the plastic.
   
   Optionally while you've got the thing taken apart you could replace the thumb sticks as well since those wear out quickly.

I’ve had the older version of this and bought another of the newer because I like it that much. It’s pretty solid to have a place to caller home for your controller when you’re done, and it just charges. It should be plenty for a days of gaming but if you use headset and do t charge it you’ll run the batteries low.

I am a big fan of this one.

I have an Energizer Charge station for my XB1 controllers, and I use an Ikea fold away hook to hang my headset on. I put the cables in the drawers where my XB1 sits. IKEA EXPIDIT are awesome for console storage, though I have a nice Entertainment Center in the living room with my Wii (no U) and 360 (I use the 360 version of the same Energizer stations here as well) along with the controllers and headset for that TV.

Fortunately repairing the LB/RB part on a XB1 controller is one of the easiest repairs that you could do on your own. All you need is the right Torx Security screwdriver (#8) and the part. That link is just an example of what you need, it's not my personal recommendation. I've had to fix this issue with my own Elite controller a few months back. Honestly the hardest part of the whole repair is getting the handgrips off without scratching up the plastic.

I nominate the Energizer Charging Station. I've been using it for about a week with my SO bundle, and I absolutely love it. It's the same price on Amazon as the Play and Charge kit, but it'll charge two controllers and has the red/green indicator lights. You don't have to plug anything in either. The controller just sits on the station.

I've had luck with the Energizer one. Full charge lasts close to 30 hours gameplay with XOFours connected, and recharges over night.

I bought this one in December of 2014, and it has been great. I play a ton of Rocket League and GTA V on PC with it, and it will for hours on a charge. I think my longest ever play time was during an extralife games marathon, I went for about 7 hours on a charge. It wasn't dead, but I was.

All I can say is the elite controller is of higher quality than anything you can substitute. That being said, I spent the coins for the elite scuf package.the grips and thumb sticks. It is easily the best fix and I love the color green, so it worked out. Also, I think they will last longer but I have no proof —> Just the feel when I hold the controller.

I had that happen a couple of times, and quickly realized I'd be going through a monstrous pantload of AA's before finally dying of malnutrition playing this console, and then I found [this guy] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EADTVLW/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I've had it for about a week, and I just hang the controller up to charge when I'm done playing for the day. Each battery (It comes with two) supposedly lasts 40 hours (or twenty per battery--I can't tell if they're being coy about that) so you theoretically won't have any issues with running out of juice in the middle of a session.

If you are, then might I suggest a shower?

This is the one I have, it does not charge or anything, it is just a stand. I run the Microsoft Charge and Play battery which charges with a USB cable and retains the normal battery cover, I didn't like any of the aftermarket battery options.

Batteries get replaced with ones that have outer contacts so it can charge... Cant plug and play but you can swap active controllers fairly easy.

I think the most effective, and least intrusive to what you're already comfortable with, way to play with an elite controller is to get the elite scuf paddle kit. I have it and I really think it helped me take full advantage of the elite controller. The paddles are better positioned than the stock elite paddles, and they take a little bit extra, but not too much, pressure to push down. They won't really get in your way when you don't want them to. I have the left side set to be jump and edit, and the right side is build and change materials. This means I only have to move my right thumb for pickaxe and reload/trap.

Yeah. The whole kit is better than what the stock grips/sticks are grip wise. They also add a splash of color to the black/gray of the elite.

I got the black color, which doesn't seem to be available at the moment. Most of the negative reviews seem to be from the thumbsticks (I just use the originals) but the grips have been amazing.

I set my controllers on controller stands. They make custom ones to match a lot of the specialty controllers. Microsoft sells them.

You can buy replacement bumpers and triggers although I couldn't find a silver-colored set... All black. Still better than nothing and it doesn't cost all that much.

 

BTW, you'll need the appropriate screwdrivers to open up your controller. I don't know what they are but I suspect they might be security Torx8 screws like on the Xbox 360 controller. Might be something else though. Check it out before!

Amazon sells a privacy shield—a plastic cover that blocks the cameras. A more costly but aesthetically pleasing option than a piece of tape.

They're annoyingly large though. I would often bump them when gripping the controller tight or setting it down on a table. I know they made first party v1 accessory kits for GoW, Halo, etc. Maybe you can find one of those packs and try them out.

2. The controllers are not rechargeable, however you can power them with a micro usb cable. (Android charger) Also several reasonable options for rechargeable battery packs on Amazon. Here is the one my friends and I use.

I've had this one since July '14 and love it.

It is likely closer to $30 with tax, but this may be an idea. It's the only accessory aside from a headset that I find to be a must-have with a console. Hope this might be helpful :)

I’ve had this problem before, and sending it back to Microsoft is such a hassle.
These are good cheap replacements and Here is a guide on how to fix it.
This should completely solve the problem, and it is wayyyyy easier than getting it fixed by Microsoft. The bumpers will ship within 2 days, and it should be an easy fix!

This not be your issue but I had similar problems with the xbone controller. Generally I found the reason to be the batteries were not seated completely in the compartment. I ended up buying this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EADTVLW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Its not really that special for $40 (just 1100 mAh NiMh baterries) but the battery pack fits snug and secure in the compartment (uh kind of like the 360 controller). I have not had a problem with the controller since.
