Typically, games display resolutions that your monitor is capable of handling. You only see up to 1080p on your notebook because that's probably it's maximum resolution.

If you get a 1440p monitor you'll be able to select 1440p. Also BDO is pretty CPU intensive, so you might have to disable some graphics options to play at a decent FPS depending on your CPU.

Downscaling** essentially renders the game at a higher resolution, and downscales the picture to fit your monitor. It is usually very stressful on your GPU, and doesn't really offer a huge gain in terms of picture quality if you're already running at a high resolution.

I highly recommend this monitor. I just got it myself on an impulse buy and it's pretty solid. The color settings need some tweaks, but there's a pretty good review on amazon that gives you some tweaks to improve the color depth. It's 1440p, g-sync capable, 1ms response time, AND 144 Hz and costs less than or about the same as most 1440p/gsync monitors. Solid buy imo, but you will have to spend time tweaking the colors/contrast.

Yes definitely , also to give you a heads up you will probably need a new motherboard as well. When you decide to purchase the CPU, as your CPU is a LGA 1150 socket while you're looking to upgrade to a 1151 socket which requires a new motherboard, as well as DDR4 ram instead of DDR3.

Good luck with the purchase, and have a look at my thread to help you maximize your FPS once you get your new GPU.

I recommend this motherboard for the long run as well.

For the graphics card i recommend this as the temp's will be rather low with this card compared to other similar models , this also isn't colossus sized compared to other GPU's.

I run BDO on this laptop...

ASUS G751JT 17-Inch Gaming Laptop

It runs great. The laptop is fantastic as well. Great cooling for the card and processor in this beast!

I would say that these 3 monitors are some of the best, if not the best that you could buy for 1080P gaming @144hz. I have owned all 3, and even used them back when I still had a GTX 1080 like you have. If you are on a budget, I would go with the Acer. If you have the money to spend and want an overall better monitor, then the Asus is the way to go. Not really a reason to buy the Zowie anymore IMO, for the price you might as well just spend a bit more and get the Asus (when I bought my Zowie, that current Asus model was not available). And trust me, you will not have a great overall experience playing 1440P BDO with a GTX 1080. Maybe if you have a 9th gen CPU it could be a little better. I have a GTX 2080 TI and I7 7700k and I can't pull 144fps/144hz in many places, especially not in NW/anything more than smallscale PVP.

I use a gigabyte with a 1060 in it. Specifically this one: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-P57W-SL3-GTX970M-i7-6700HQ-Computer/dp/B01B962FXS

It runs everything on medium easily when plugged in, and can chug along on super low setting for the hour or so the battery lasts when gaming unplugged lol

TeckNet Laptop Cooling Pad, Portable Ultra-Slim Quiet Laptop Notebook Cooler Cooling Pad Stand with 2 USB Powered Fans, Fits 12-16 Inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014F4SBMK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Cht6CbQQA6NJN

Something like this would help you have some extended gaming sessions while keeping the thing cool and should help reduce sound.

For gaming laptops, be prepared to go BIG on your budget to get performance. That laptop would probably suffice, but the Asus ROG that I linked would give you better bang, probably constant 60 FPS. I'd also reccomend when you do get your laptop, cracking into the BIOS settings and force turning off the Intel Integrated Graphics so that you don't have any problems with that.

Thanks! (This is way faster then a sheet)

If you have 3k to spend on a game you probably aren't worrying about money. It's a recreational expense, like buying a stupidly expensive kayak or fitting all your aquariums (no, nobody just has one) with $300 canisters. People with extra money do spend on their hobbies, and gaming is a hobby.

It was ONLY metric in chemistry and physics because that's what is used even in American academia and research

Then we started to use imperial along with metric in engineering because American engineers use mostly imperial

The text used by my statics class: https://www.amazon.com/Engineering-Mechanics-Russell-C-Hibbeler/dp/0133918920 uses a mix

u/0010001_1 · 1 pointr/blackdesertonline

just try it, it is probably the heat tanking your game and if somehow you are using this ram it's somewhat unstable.

Just some random examples from google search that took 10 seconds show that it is used.

The fact that you find it painful to read has to do with your cultural views and education and it has nothing to do with whether the phrase is commonly used in informal context or not. I don't like the word "moist" and I find it "painful to read" but that doesn't mean its not valid.
