If it were me (and that is all I can comment on as I don't dispense any advice) I would most likely use lope.

I'd start the night before going CT with 5 pills (2mg each) it takes a bit to get into the system and this jump starts it.

Then I'd go 5 pills (twice per day) on day one. And then 4 pills (twice per day on day two). And go down a pill per dose per day accordingly.

I would not use it more than 5 days. There is no need. Most people with shortish habits wake up on day 5 feeling MUCH better. But even a person with a longer habit really need not use it longer than 5 days.

The other supplements I'd recommend are a GOOD multi with minerals (like the senior ones) and maybe even supplemental vitamin C with rose hips (the rose helps absorption) or maybe this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Bronson-Vitamin-Premium-Non-GMO-Ascorbic/dp/B0006ZNFT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478780712&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=vitamin%2BC&th=1

Then to top it all off I'd use a few adaptogenic herbs to help repair the HPA axis. Ashawagandha at night and rhodiola in the morning. The other good morning supplement is L-tyrosine……and of course eat super clean too.

You may have a really sketchy appetite for awhile. Make sure to get nutrition anyway. Easy foods loaded with nutrients are best. Such as scrambled eggs, orange juice and other fruit juice, greek yogurt, bananas, peanut butter, whole wheat bread or pasta.

The key is it has to sound appealing or you won't eat it. Clearly there may be "cleaner foods" out there, but appetites are funny at first, so go with what you WILL eat.

Drink lots of water. Make yourself MOVE even though you don't want to. Do not allow yourself toy sit at home staring at the computer screen (you will be tempted to because kratom seems to affect people like this).

Get outside and WALK or ride your bike…..try and create a new schedule for yourself. Think about the things that caused your addiction. Were you attempting to avoid something? figure out how to address it.

If you need help sleeping then use valerian, melatonin or passionflower (or even a mix of these). The passionflower is good for any anxiety. Kava is also good for anxiety. Just use these WHEN NEEDED and especially don't abuse the kava. I live in a legal state and used MJ with very good effects.

Don't go ballistic with yourself though. Be gentle and loving. Do not berate yourself for getting to this point…….we all get lost on occasion and this doesn't make us bad people. Indeed we are GOOD people.

And we can turn anything around for the better……no matter how hopeless we feel, that is a complete mirage. Don't fall for it.

Come here often. Report your progress in the daily updates thread…..make friends with a few people. Most of us were "closet users" and having company on this journey can really be helpful.

Drug addiction is often fueled by feeling alone in this world…. maybe think a little about that (if it fits anyway). We deserve to be happy and to be thriving……life is to be lived. And not in a comatose kratomized way……finally :

YOU ARE MUCH STRONGER THAN YOU KNOW……GOOD LUCK !

Awww Thanks struggle & newgirl, very nice compliments. I personally read up on the vitamin C idea, too---then did tons of research and found this excellent very bioavailable one on Amazon. And the best price I found, too.Worth a look !

I will NEVER forget how cold and alone and lost I felt when I realized how deep I'd gotten in this crap (my mind was a mess, too). So reading the posts here helped me to feel "not as alone" and that made the difference…….I believe in the old paying it forward idea.

We are all the same when we get here. We need a helping hand or encouraging comment to spark our OWN power…..then we can do damn near anything !

Keep going my friend, glad to hear things are still improving :-)

Rock on. Pull up an audiobook for a gal named lena chodron. Book is called when things fall apart. Shes a buddhist monk... all woo woo Buddhist eastern philosophy aside... wonderful listen or read when things are unbelievably challenging

I'm exactly like you. The lack of sleep is my main issue. These 2 have worked very well for me and I used to take Ambien a few months back.

I take 2 of each before I go to bed and when I wake up (1 of each). Does not make me groggy. Good luck!

vitaminne shoppe also carries it if you have one locally.

True calm has alot more mg and valerian which i am not a fan of (also can be addictive). The main reason I like Gaba calm is it is a lozenge vs a pill so acts quickly with minimal does. In fact i usually take half a lozenge when needed unless trying to sleep.

Have you read this book? I have had tremendous success with it as an audio book version: https://www.amazon.com/Dare-Anxiety-Stop-Panic-Attacks/dp/0956596258

If you believe what he is saying it will at least stop a severe one for a period of time, then just rinse, repeat :). Good luck with the w/d... rock this!!!!

If you can, get a hold of this book: http://www.amazon.ca/Rein-Your-Brain-Impulsivity-Thoughtful/dp/1616494670

Read it when you have some spare time, especially if you are craving hard. When you are craving hard, before making the impulse decision to take kratom, read a few pages from this book.

You will learn to teach your brain to think with the cortex rather than the limbic. Making decision thoughtfully rather than impulsively. I know that may sounds scary, but it's really not. It helps me a lot when I get cravings. It's a very good book and I highly recommend it for anyone while they are quitting anything.

Not all green tea is created equal, I'd recommend sencha for a much higher dose of theanine (which gives you the relaxing buzz), also a much smoother taste. Also make sure not to over-steep your green tea as it makes it taste more bitter.

Here's the sencha i use: https://www.amazon.com/Davidsons-Tea-Bulk-Sencha-16-Ounce/dp/B000SAPX8G/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1542312854&sr=8-5&keywords=sencha+tea&dpID=41DZ3w-DabL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

L-Theanine is pretty decent for anxiety. (https://www.amazon.com/L-Theanine-Servings-Nootropic-Supplement-Anxiety/dp/B00H46X2LC), So is Ashwagandha (https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Answer-Alcohol-Free-Ashwagandha-2-Fluid/dp/B0001VUTZY/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1491951403&sr=8-3&keywords=ashwagandha+extract). Probiotic foods from Greek Yogurt to Kimchi are also a life saver. 90% of your body's serotonin actually exists in the gut, not the brain. If you've been on kratom for a while, chances are you don't have much good bacteria their left, so you're lacking that serotonin. Anyway, I used to think people were full of crap when they talked about natural methods of dealing with addiction (other than exercise)...but there are definitely some out there that really work.

Himalaya Organic Ashwagandha 60 Caplets for Anti-Stress and Energy 670mg https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002BBATC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_eOsGyb7ZX1GPZ

Take high absorption magnesium. It will help with a lot of withdrawal symptoms.

I felt the same way mate, had to goto the ER 5 times for panic attacks, couldn't breathe, thought I was gonna die. Was all due to anxiety. Only lasts the first 2-3 weeks.

Benzos can be used to help with this, but the dependency/addictive nature of benzos is really bad - so if you go this route, be very careful.

As far as my research has brought me, and actual usage/experimentation, American Skullcap is really a phenom for destroying anxiety and insomnia brought on by kratom withdrawal. I'm in week 3-4 of withdrawal and I slept for the first time without using addictive substances like benzos. I just drank 2 glasses of skullcap tea and conked tf out.

I trust Frontier Co-Op for all the herbs I buy, organicly grown, safer than buying extracts with who knows what in them.

Here's the product I use: FRONTIER CO-OP SCULLCAP HERB CERTIFIED ORGANIC, HERBAL SUPPLEMENT 16OZ

Hope this helps other people who are concerned with trading one addiction for another, just to deal with withdrawal.

All my research points at Skullcap being non-habit forming, non-narcotic. Classified as a "nervine" in classical herbology.

It puts forth the theory of addiction as a learning disorder. Very interesting take on the matter.

Sorry, got the title wrong in my memory. It’s Biology of Desire I really enjoyed the anatomical descriptions of how addiction works in the brain.
