As others have mentioned, Xbox is not a reliable 4K player (I picked up the Sony X700 and it’s fantastic - highly recommend). That said, the issue might actually have to do with your HDMI cord. If you’re not running a high speed HDMI, or running a cable that is not fast enough to transfer all the data in a 4K disc, it could lead to some of the things your experiencing (specifically the stuttering). Try upgrading to a Certified Premium cable that does at least 18gbps. I recommend this one from Amazon, super cheap and great quality!

In total i used 4 hdmi cables (3 3ft cables and 1 4ft cable)

I used 3ft hdmi cables. In particular i picked up two of these: https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-115427-Certified-Premium-Speed/dp/B01GCGKBWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518913351&sr=8-1&keywords=Monoprice+115427

One went from the ps4 pro to the switch box and the other went from the switch box port 1 to the tv itself. Additionally on port 2 i used a 3ft amazon basics hdmi cable to go from there to the back of the processing box. The final cable went from the processing box to the tv and this was the 4ft hdmi cable (although i think a large size hdmi cable would work here since its just showing what is in the headset and not the 4k hdr).

Usually when im watching tv i have the switch on port 1 so i can watch 4k hdr etc, but then when i want to use psvr all i do is restart ps4, switch it to #2 port on the switch box, and then switch the source on the tv itself to whatever hdmi port that one is connected to.

Terminology's fine. There's a reason it says "your TV setup..." is incompatible.

You have the X. You have the appropriate TV. Which means something in-between is causing the issue. You'll have to make sure your cable is up to snuff (this is a popularly reliable one) and your receiver (if it's part of setup) has ports which support 4K 60Hz HDR.

If any of those parts of the equation are missing, the whole thing falls apart.

HDCP with 4K is just a finicky mess right now.

For me, it would only flicker in Hulu, Plex and the menu, but never in Netflix or iTunes.

My set up is the ATV4K ➡️ Yamaha receiver ➡️ Samsung TV. I tried several brands and combinations of HDMI cables but kept have flickering and audio dropouts. I finally got everything working correctly with a set of these Monoprice "Premium" cables.

Might be worth a shot.
