The HyperX Cloud should be really good.

Personally I own a Siberia v2 which I really like though it hurts my left ear after a couple of hours and the mic is broken (I think the mic part may be my own fault though I'm usually careful with my stuff). SteelSeries also recently made the Siberia v3 which I'm going to assume is better than the v2 though I've never tried it :)

u/CurtKurt · 4 pointsr/letsplay

I used to use the Steel Series Siberas to record, and for the price they were ok quality. You can hear some samples from me here. I would record with Audacity and then run it through Noise Reduction, Normalize, Compression, and Equalization.

I got these Steel Series ones awhile back and am really satisfied with them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003N636VI

The Siberia V2 are a tried and tested headset. I bought 3 for me and my friends and we love them. You also have the option for the frost blue version that lights up and a similar version in black/orange. If you follow any Esports you'll probably have seen these because they are the staple headset. I owned mine for 2 years and the comfort level is insane.

You also have the option of buying a V-moda boompro mic but you'd need a way to buy them in the US amazon and ship them.

Im using ^ setup with the V-moda Crossfade LP's and plan to get the m100's for X-mas but I can't tell you enough how solid the Siberias are.

I'm someone who generally lives and dies by amazon ratings and I usually don't buy anything under a 4.4 rating but these truly should be 5/5's for what they offer.

Do you want to isolate the sound? Do you want people in the room to be able to hear what you are listening to?

Open Headphones generally sound better, and have a wider soundscape. They do however do not isolate the ambient noise, they also leak sound to everyone else. Great ones for under $100 are the Sennheiser HD518, the ATH-AD500x, and the AKG K240. The cheapest option that is recomended is the Superlux HD681

If you wish to have better isolation, then you need a Closed Back headphone. The m50s are great but overpriced compared to their little brother the ATH-m30x. I also really like the Shure SRH240. The standard cheap option I have seen is the Sennheiser HD201

Also there are some headsets that are worth the money. The Kingston(Qpad, Takstar) CloudX, and the Siberia V2 are held in high regard for their "Bang for Buck".

Never hear anything bad about Steelseries. A Steelseries Siberia V2 sounds right up your alley for your price range. Turtle Beaches have pretty crappy sound quality until you get to high end headsets (then it's only okay for the same price as audiophile headsets).

u/AussiePandah · 2 pointsr/letsplay

If you haven't found something you're set on, I'd recommend the [SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-Size Gaming Headset] (http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B003N636VI), I haven't used these but I've heard good things about Steelseries. Like SoulessShinobi I too use the Astro A40's and they are amazing, when you can spare $200-$300 then I'd suggest them :P The Siberia v2 is $10 more than your price range but for quality these would be the best ones that's not too high above what you were wanting to spend. Hope this helps :)

I own a pair and I'd say the steelseries siberia headset is a nice headset for the price.

u/Pi-Roh · 2 pointsr/wow

If you don't mind the extra cables, I would recommend normal headphones that you would use for listening to music. Along with a separate microphone.

Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro

Audio-Technica ATH-M50

Those are two great under 200$ headphones. I've owned both and I prefer the Beyerdynamics since it has a removable cable.

As a separate mic:

Zalman Zm-Mic1

ModMic

Personally I use the Zalman. I simply prefer that style of mic over the boom type that a ModMic has. My friend swears by the ModMic though. On Mumble he sounds fine with it so the quality seems to be good.

If you simply prefer a headset that has a mic in it I would recommend these. I used them before I went over to a headphone/mic setup. The mic is a little muted admittedly, but everything is is A-ok. They're especially comfy.

Even cheaper on Amazon.

I've had these for 2 years. They're great.

u/Xilcon13 · 2 pointsr/gadgets

The Logitech G35 headset is marked down to $80 on Amazon right now. These are comfortable (if a little bulky) and lasted me for about 2 years which is when the poly-vinyl on the earpieces started peeling off. The headphones still work though, and admittedly I could probably just fix them myself.

I'm currently using the Steelseries Siberia V2 and the are pretty good and marked down to $70 but a word of warning; if you consider these headphones, know that they are a little uncomfortable at first and also be sure to test the mic asap to ensure it works as the mine doesn't (good thing I never use that thing anyway lol).

Been using [Steelseries Siberia V2] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003N636VI/ref=twister_B004B8VCJU) for about two years now. No issues so far whatsoever. Music and games sound great. Didn't cost an arm and a leg. The retractable mic is a nice feature. Lots of colors to choose from so you can match the color scheme of your build. Not the fanciest headset on the market, but I am very pleased with it.

u/LucidFlare · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Hmm......
If you have some headphones you enjoy using I'd say get an AntLion ModMic, which is right at $50. XD
Since you're asking about a headset though.

I was looking at this awhile back before I got a mod mic and from what I heard and saw this one was pretty decent and comfortable. The Logitech G430 also seemed pretty good but I've heard issues about them being uncomfortable, especially with glasses. Then there is the Razer Kraken PRO. Looks really cool and comes in different colors. I've heard mixed things over how comfortable it is and mic quality though. If you do have some decent headphones though you could always look into the ModMic though.

If you're curious as to the sound quality and everything about the mic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6GO-9bg3vw Good luck and hope you find a good headset. :D

Here's the black one

Cheapest is $30, and that ships between 8-27 business days. If you get the prime eligible one, it's $40 and like I said, you're getting 2 day shipping from me.

I'm willing to go lower, just throw out an offer.

u/epicpandemic916 · 1 pointr/techsupportmacgyver

You need some nice headphones my dude

u/zSnipedYouz · 1 pointr/Twitch

I use the Siberia v2 headset. The mic quality on them is extremely clear, had no problems with them since i purchased them (last October), picks up no background noise, clear and high quality audio and are very comfortable to have on (compared to other headsets I've had).

If you lift your budget to $50 i would highly recommend them.

u/Raedion · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Steelseries Siberia V2 are a well rated set for ~$70 and have a retractable mic. I can wear them for hours without discomfort.

Hello everyone, just picked up some Beyerdynamic 770 Pro 32 Ohms over the weekend and I'm absolutely loving them so far.

Even at the risk of sounding like a dumbass, I'm stumped. They sound great but I'd love for them to potentially sound even better. I have a SMSL SA-50 Amplifer which powers my Micca MB42X speakers. This setup worked extremely well in the past as all I had were some crappy Steelseries Siberia V2's for gaming.

But now do I need more equipment to have my headphones sound as good as they possibly can? I know very little about DACs/Amps or audio equipment in general but from what I do know I'm missing something crucial.

Sorry if my question is vague and please let me know if you need more information!

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Steelseries Siberia V2 Pick Your Color

Headset Adapter

You can alternatively use any 3.5mm stereo headset with the adapter if you choose as long as it has a seperate mic and headphone jack. You can use this setup with a PS4 or any Android or iPhone if you wish.

I wear glasses and find circumaural headsets to be extremely comfortable to (literally) wear all day. I personally use:

u/SummerMango · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

They are hollow/tinny sounding. I would recommend buying these:

http://www.amazon.com/Creative-EF0060-Aurvana-Live-Headphones/dp/B000ZJZ7OA

With this:

http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ

If you must get a headset, but the Steelseries Siberia V2:

http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B003N636VI

The 1500 are pretty much terrible. They are comfy, sure, and maybe decently built, but do not offer an analog solution, you are permanently tethered to a PC to use them

Note:

If you have money to burn, get the AD700s:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-AD700X-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B009S332TQ (these are the X. If you can find a set of AD700 in stock they will either cost around 100 dollars new, or way more because they have become rare).

Headphones like the AKG701/612/q701 are in the same range of 'nothing can touch these in terms of l33t h4xx0r sound'.

Plus, better headphones work nicely for things other than gaming.

I highly, and strongly, recommend buying a good set of headphones that you will love and look forward to using all day long, over something disposable and boring.

u/PlNKERTON · 1 pointr/Rainbow6

Get yourself a nice headset with 3.5mm jacks for headphones and mic, then use a Y cable that plugs directly into your controller.

  1. you don't need some stupid controller adapter.

  2. you can use the headset as headphones outside of your xbox.

These ones are nice because the mic is retractable. I've had them for about 4 years and they've been awesome. I'm really picky about sound quality and it's hard to find a good gaming headset with actual bass to it. These have great all around sound. I went through like 5 sets before I settled on these.

Wherever you buy them make sure you can return them if you don't like them. Comfort and sound quality vary a lot in headsets.

Edit: I never did like the headsets that boasted 7.1 surround sound! or crap like that. It's impossible to get true 7.1 surround sound in only 2 speakers. They just never sounded good enough. Plus I'm so used to simple stereo sound in headphones that anything else just seems off. I have no problem telling exactly where someone is with the headset above. That being said, I'd be interested in trying out a "high quality + surround sound" headset with siege to see if there's any actually beneficial difference.

There aren't any solid solutions that will be both device agnostic and inexpensive, unfortunately. If you end up sticking with the X360, my favorite has been the XBox 360 Wireless Headset. Alternatively I had an extra set of Plantronics M Series earloop and eartips that I stuck onto the 'set and I find them to be much more comfortable / better at remaining in place. In all, with the optional kit, can run you from $25-$40 (sometimes you'll find a dirt cheap sale on the communicators somewhere, especially for like the MW3 edition). Personally I wouldn't go any higher in cost for an X360 solution, unless you go full-blown with an Astro Mixamp Pro and a favorite, high quality headset (expect to spend anywhere from $200-$500 altogether, or higher if you go really nuts).

A solid, dollar for dollar, PC / PS4 solution would be to get the SteelSeries v2 paired with an adapter like this ($60-$80 solution, depending). The DS4 has a 3.5mm jack that will support in-game sound as well as chat. The downside to it is it's a little underpowered. A lot of people don't have issues with it, but I'm rather picky. Thankfully the SteelSeries v2 only has a 32 Ohm impedance and an accompanying low-ish sensitivity level. So they don't take much to drive, but still -- to me the sounds for anything on the DS4 are a little muddy. To forego it, you would need to spend a little more money. Next step up, which works great for the PS4, would be the Sony Wireless Gold for around $80, but while it's a great solution for the PS4 I find it subpar on the PC. To get better sound out of the PS4 you would have to go the Astro Mixamp Pro route.

For PS4 you could also go the opposite direction in pricing and get the $12 PS Vita Earbuds and just shove those in the DS4 jack. While still an inline mic (will be picking up a lot of ambient noise) these are far better than what you can get out of the packaged earbud / mic with the PS4. If your soundcard doesn't support mic input via the headphone jack and only has the separate 3.5mm, can always use another adapter that goes in the reverse. Or just simply save up for a different headset for PC.

I am looking for some good quality headphones with a headband like the Steelseries Siberia V2 , with over ear, basically I just want those headphones with higher quality.

u/Marksta · 1 pointr/pcgaming

You can go the audiophile headphones + attached or clipped mic for the best in audio in and out. Antlion Modmic is a nice choice for mic I hear. Or something like this http://i.imgur.com/FDKeNvN.png

If you aren't feeling like DIYing anything my personal recommendation would go to the Steel Series Siberia v2. Once again, it will not win any awards for audio or mic quality but it may win a sexy-ness award if I was a judge. If you watch streams any then you've seen lots of this headset probably. Especially the white/blue glow one that is extra sexy.

u/Fizbanic · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

My Steel Series gaming headset cost 100$ CDN on sale. Great quality sound and build.

I use it for everything as my PC's are in the living area with the TV, so nice to have so the kids can watch whatever and I can do the same.

u/KyleRob07 · 1 pointr/headphones

Since you want one with a built in microphone, I would say [SteelSeries Siberia] (http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B003N636VI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1407941880&sr=8-5&keywords=steelseries) if you can get them in Denmark.

u/Got_airblast · 0 pointsr/buildapc

I had one of these for 8 months. It eventually broke because the solder near the volume control was falling apart, which will happen if you play around with it excessively. I sent it back and got the 5Hv2 but with standard headphone plugs. I'm currently using it and had it since February. I doubt you'd want to get it since the 5hv2 isn't available on SteelSeries' site anymore, and I don't know if the warranty would still apply if its sold by a third party.

A lot of my friends have and will vouch for the Siberia, which also roughly falls within your price range, however, the Siberia doesn't have braided cables.

u/acidburn20x · -1 pointsr/buildapcsales

I'm not that good at CS:GO, but I do not think you need much beyond a driver in each ear. knowing left and right should be enough. For gaming, I currently use Siberia V2 headset. Even then, I prefer a heavier bass for weapon fire and explosions in FPS games and close back headphones can give you that while open backed headphones would be lacking.

u/mypfthrow · -7 pointsr/buildapcsales

Steelseries Siberia v2s are a gaming headset with surprisingly good audio for a gaming headset on sale for $55 on amazon.com, as the new v3 (more comfortable but worse for music) have just been released. I got a used pair for $40 shipped and love them. I own Sennheiser 558s, but decided to go with Siberia v2s for gaming and they are great for that purpose.

These Sennheiser will sound much better for music; the Siberia v2s will have a MUCH better microphone for gaming than these, if you care about being able to use voice activated chat or care about how you sound to others.
