I have the large size of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00STR80Y4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They last about 6-8 weeks before loosing some elasticity.

Mueller Fitted Wrist Left, Black, Large/XLarge https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BEECT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_oqZeAbD5BT68V

I’ve been having this since 22 weeks, am now 37 and it’s so bad now. I wear this brace on both hands every night. I like them because they breath and they’re not too long.

u/Bellainara · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Need: The Wellgate wrist brace in Right or Left, located on my Comfort and Disability wishlist. Together they are priced out of your cap, so I would prefer the Right before the Left. But in case that one sells out or something, I wanted to list both.

Why: For my RA. I have one for my Right Wrist, but I've had it for so long that the velcro no longer holds well. I don't have any brace for my Left Wrist, but I am right-handed, so the pain is higher on my Right.

Uses: The biggie for me is to be able to work on my crochet for longer. I crochet to keep me busy and help with depression and boredom. It is also good for when I sleep, because I tend to ball up my hands and bend my wrists while I sleep, so I wake up with more pain.

Trying not to be sobby-just realistic! I could use these but if someone has a greater need, go with them. I do have one brace and I can keep using it with hair-ties to keep it tight.

u/ttedder · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Same thing happened to me but it bent it closed too hard and tore the ligament on the top of my finger. Luckily I could wear these and was still able to play.

u/weirdarmsfailing · 3 pointsr/CubitalTunnel

Every study I've read said that the nerve feels the least tension at 45 degrees. I think most doctors just recommends any elbow brace that will keep your arm straight. As long as you can't bend past 45 degrees then it should be fine.

I got this brace and I'm getting good results with it so far. It's not too bulky, has enough cushion, and stays on all night.

This brace was used in the study. Kinda pricey though.

It's only an elbow issue since that is where the cubital tunnel is located. But, the ulnar nerve can be pinched somewhere else, like the guyon's canal (wrist) or thoracic outlet (collar bone). I think finger splinting is for trigger finger.

u/kroman · 3 pointsr/nSuns

Edit: Despite the suggestions below, your first move should be to see a doctor if you're not sure of what is causing the pain.

I started to develop elbow tendinitis doing the 5/3/1 LP, it felt like a dull pain on the inside of my tricep, just above the elbow (literally the tricep tendon on this picture.)

I took a week off during which I iced the tendon on and off, and took ibuprofen. I also bought these elbow sleeves, which keep the joint feeling warm and compressed and haven't felt any pain since.

You mentioned curls, supposedly high rep hammer curls help if it is elbow tendinitis, and I've also seen voodoo floss as a suggestion though I have not tried that.

u/Sevothtarte · 3 pointsr/beyondthebump

I got DeQuervain's from at home work where I type on my computer all day. It's not from breastfeeding, but hopefully my experience helps a little bit. I ended up getting a wrist brace off of amazon so that I could put pressure where it hurt. And I wore that for like 2 weeks straight, even while I was sleeping, and eventually it went away. Sometimes my wrist hurts and I have to use the brace again, but for the most part it cleared it up.

This is the brace I bought: https://www.amazon.com/BraceUP%C2%AE-Adjustable-Wrist-Support-Black/dp/B00ZMZPGMK/ref=sr_1_8_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1510593340&sr=1-8&keywords=wrist+brace&dpID=410Sgr5vp9L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

aside from all the bras, pen parts for my wacom for some reason all the shops locally like best buy and office depot, only carry supplies for the bamboo and can order the new intuos4/5 but wont order me the intuos3 parts.. and i'm on my last nib.. i've had this tablet for.. 6 years now plus or minus a few.. and i finally used up the pack that came with it...

elbow pillow splint doctor gave me one on loan until i get one because i did something to my arm and have a pinched nerve or other issue and have two numb fingers with no pain.. i have to wear it at night and this week i have to either buy it from them or return it.. what they want for it is insane.. i guess they assume insurance is gonna buy it.

wrist support wrap to help with the same issue as above when i'm not sleeping.

u/antiproton · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Experiment with different positions. When mine was at it's worst, I could only do hammer curls without searing pain in my forearm.

I also got neoprene forearm bands. The pressure on the tendon helped dull the pain.

I use these braces/splints at night: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G4PSA7Y

They’re pretty soft and easy to sleep in. It helps with the pain and numbness.

u/tripreed · 2 pointsr/crossfit

I started having trouble with my hands falling asleep while sleeping probably about 8 months into doing CF. It got to the point where it was painful and would wake me up. I saw a PT (who also went to my gym) who thought it might be a shoulder issue. I tried some stretches, but it didn't really seem to work. I eventually went to my primary care physician and his conclusion was that it was carpal tunnel. He suggested I start sleeping with these wrist things (one for each hand, obvs). It has REALLY helped. I do wear them every night now. They still fall asleep at night sometimes, but not to the point of pain/bothering me, and they don't bother me much during the day either.

I have compression braces for ankles, knees and elbows, all of which I bought with approval from my therapists (OT and PT) from Amazon (link, link, link) They help me feel more stable without limiting my RoM too much. I also have hard braces for wrists that OT made for me, I'm hoping after my tendinosis heals a little that I can switch to something softer like a compression glove or something.

u/jennyphil04 · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

I have it too - and also didn't know that it was a possible pregnancy thing. It's pretty unpleasant, but mine has come and gone since week 15 or so.

This wrist brace (have to buy separate for each hand) has really helped - even if I just wear it at night. I find that sometimes I do have to wear them at work (I type a lot), and if I'm going to be driving a lot I wear them (we drove from PA to Chicago early June).

I don't get staph but I regularly get itchy, inflamed skin irritation from the gi rubbing against my skin. Not sure if it's a heat rash, eczema, or what. I used to get it in high school sports from the pads, now that I'm in my 30s I don't get it from anything other than jiu jitsu. And it's almost always limited to areas of exposed skin, eg. wrists, hands, feet. Here's what works for me:

Cover as much of your skin as you can. That means long sleeve rashguards and compression pants, and I also wear soft thumb braces on my hands because they cover the areas in which I get breakouts. Don't shower just prior to training (I've heard this washes away "good" bacteria that helps defend against infections) but shower as immediately afterward as you can.

As you said, lotion is a must for inflamed areas. I go through heaps of the stuff.

Good luck brother.

Touchpad - Logitech Wireless Touchpad T650

I don't think there are alternatives. The T650 works like Apple's Magic Trackpad.

Keyboard -

Microsoft Sculpt Ergo which comes with a separate number pad, or

Matias Ergo Pro if you prefer a mechanical keyboard. There is a Quiet Click version for office environment.

**Edit: herbuser suggested wrist bands but I think you should try IMAK RSI Smart Glove first. It is designed for people with carpal tunnel syndrome. Review

u/Itmeansnothing123 · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

Sure, I bought two of these

They work pretty well, and for their price I like em. They have two flat metal bars inside the fabric to immobilize the elbow. You basically line it up so that the metal bars are on the inside and outside of your elbow, going across from your bicep to forearm.

They're a lot more comfy than I thought, and they breathe really well too. So I don't sweat or get hot in them.

This is what I got:

Kunto Fitness Elbow Brace Compression Support Sleeve

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010P9Q13K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_g.hLzbYGYRPVM

u/iRavage · 1 pointr/Fitness

My elbows have been hurting recently. I think I’ve narrowed it down to tricep extensions or bicep curls, which I occasionally do at the end of my workout.

The question is: wtf am I doing wrong? And would elbow sleeves help? (Similar to these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EOR45CS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_F8PbBbCYKAY5E )

u/jamesc1025 · 1 pointr/cscareerquestions

I used to have carpal tunnel but was able to resolve the issue with this keyboard:

Goldtouch Go!2 Wireless Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard - PC & Mac GTP-0044W Plus Jestik Microfiber Cloth - Value Bundle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QL2OFHK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PwJSCb366PGQB

Putting weight on my wrists exacerbated the situation so this keyboard taught me to only use my fingertips to type. If you try to rest your hands on it then it will collapse.

Also if you are already feeling pain, then you should wear wrist braces that have a splint for a while - even when you sleep. The goal is to always keep your wrist straight. I noticed other task like driving i would have my wrist bent on the steering wheel causing pain so I had to train myself not to do that. Here’s a good brace:

Doctor Developed Carpal Tunnel Wrist Brace Night & Wrist Support & Sleep Brace [Single] (with Splint) & Doctor Written Handbook - Fully Adjustable to Fit Any Hand (Right) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CT5VKV5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LxJSCbQX0DPYG

I also use a track ball mouse and I never rest my palm on the actual mouse. I only use my fingertips. It takes a while and some training but i almost never have pain or wear braces anymore.

u/erangalp · 1 pointr/bjj

Depending on how hard, you might want to see a doctor. Definitely don't train while you can't move your arm. People will tell you to train one handed, but accidents can happen and aggravating it can you put out longer. In 3-4 days it should be much better and you can go back to training carefully (if not, go see a doctor!). I'd advise using a compression sleeve when you do, it helped me a lot reduce inflammation after training. Something like this.

For now, if it's inflamed (redness, swollen, sensitive to the touch), you should ice it and take some ibuprofen or other inflammation medicine. Otherwise let it rest and heal - eat well, sleep 8 hours at night, etc

u/kettal · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

I don't have any experience with those ones. I have used this and from the look of it is probably more secure. The velcro will still peel off if you bend it too much. If you are looking for something which won't come off at all then this is what you want, it has metal splints which can easily be taken out.

u/sig570 · 1 pointr/orangetheory

i am not sure what brace you are using; if it is a whole sleeve or a small band, but this is the one i used when it flares up.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010P9Q13K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

it gives great support and really reduces the pain i have

u/BoeingInVanya · 1 pointr/Fitness

I have the same issue, and the stretching exercises mentioned will definitely help. I also purchased a compression sleeve that I wear on the arm with the issue. It may just be a placebo type effect, but it has made a difference for me.

u/Picoliter · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

I experienced something similar to what you were having and didn't want to quit the bodyweight fitness because of it so I purchased these and though I still have wrist pain without them on, it doesn't happen even when I do handstands with them on. >One of my biggest surprises has been how much better they've been since starting the program.

One of my best friends runs my box. He'd been telling me for over a year that he could fix my tendonitis in my right elbow. I'd been going to the doctor and (completely useless) PT for a year and a half. After two cortisone shots, the doctor told me that my only real option was surgery. To me, that wasn't an option. I decided I'd just wear my armband and deal with the pain and (according to my physical therapist) the chance of nerve damage.

Well, after being told that cortisone wasn't going to fix the problem and surgery was my option, I decided that I'd give crossfit a chance. The worst I could do is make my arm worse and have to have surgery. So in May, I showed up for the first class and started working on my arm.

In three weeks, it was 90% better. Today, I have almost no pain at all. I'm told that what's happening is that I'm damaging it slightly and pushing it to heal correctly every time.

Yesterday part of the WOD was 5RFT of 10 American KB swings, 10 DLs (215), 10 20" box jumps and 10 burpees. No pain at all, and there was some pressure on that elbow. (Well, muscle pain, but that's to be expected.)

I'm gonna say that if you want to put up with pain for a couple weeks while your body gets used to doing all this, go for crossfit. It's changing my life for the better every day.

u/agoldencacti · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

Personally, I use this: https://www.amazon.com/compression-syndrome-Arthritis-Tendonitis-orthopedic/dp/B0019D8MT8/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1475031664&sr=8-2&keywords=wrist+RSI

Its helped me a lot. It's still important, however, to take a break before it gets worse. Looking back, I wish I had taken some time off from playing to let hands recover a bit. After just over a year now they're finally almost 100% again

Depending on the size and location I put bandaid (liquid if necessary) on it then wear a hand sleeve like this: https://www.amazon.com/Grappz-Finger-Alternative-Compression-Gloves/dp/B07CG5CJ1F

If you want a wrap while you wod, you pretty much have to go with a fabric one as /u/gepardcv recommended.

If you want one for oly or front squats, you could try these:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006L4JDC/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_GInHDbEQKXZEN

I own them, they dont have to be adjusted, and they limit wrist extension more than the fabric wraps.

u/GristBear · 1 pointr/hockeyplayers

About 5 years ago I jammed my top-hand wrist poke checking a puck and getting the player's skates instead. Nothing broken or sprained, but just enough to where it's never been quite the same. The joint cracks and pops all the time, and I need just a little more support on it when shooting.

This works perfect for me. Just enough to help without getting in the way:

https://www.amazon.com/ACE-Americas-Supports-Satisfaction-Guarantee/dp/B0041HSGD6

I'd start with very mild support and go up until you find what works best.

u/Melon_Bubble_Tea · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

3 sets tricep extensions 3 days per week after your normal workouts.

Keep working out, but manage discomfort and pain. You can get one of these to help it

The key is not exactly to avoid painful or uncomfortable exercises - but rather to avoid aggravating exercises.

If you do an exercise and feel a lot of discomfort or pain n the tendon - BUT feel fine within the coming days..thats okay.

But if you do an exercise and the next few days after training the tendon gets worse, thats when you need to stop doing that exercise

I also own one of these; it's better for sitting up so I don't use it as much, but it's way better for my back and ribs when I can:

Laptop Table for Bed, Superjare... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JRY1526?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Hope this helps.

(They're not affiliate links afaik, bought each of these with my own money and these are the ones that actually helped.)

u/Shin-LaC · 1 pointr/medical

Ok, so it’s the ulnar nerve. Tingling in the fingers can be caused by an injury anywhere in the nerve, such as the wrist or the elbow. If you have pain in the wrist, and none in the elbow, it’s probably the wrist, but I can’t say for sure. You can try touching the ulnar nerve in your elbow on both sides and seeing if it’s more sensitive on the affected side. You can see the location on Wikipedia, but basically when you hit your “funny bone” and it hurts, you’ve actually hit the ulnar nerve. But don’t hit it now, just press with your finger and see if it hurts more on one side.

Anyway, the cause of your injury is probably mechanical. This can be pressure on the nerve for an extended time (sleeping on it), or overuse (RSI). Perhaps a combination. What kind of activities do you do with your hands? Computer use? Playing games? Exercise? It’d be good to rest the affected arm. For example, if you use your phone a lot, you could try moving it to the other pocket and holding it with the other hand.

For sleeping, you can fold a towel and wrap it around your arm, using some tape to secure it. It doesn’t need to be too tight, the idea is more to give you some padding and to keep you from bending your arm or wrist. You can wrap it around your elbow with your arm straight. This would work pretty well for your elbow, so you don’t need to get an elbow brace.

If the problem is more with the wrist, and there’s an RSI component, I think it’s more important to allow it to rest during the day, by wearing a brace for a week or two (you can take it off at night). I think that’s hard to do without a proper brace, though. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CT5VKV5/
If the price is too high, you may be able to find a used one locally, on Craigslist or something. People usually use these for a limited time and then just keep them.

But actually, you may be able to just splint it yourself. Get a long, flat piece of metal, wood or plastic, and place it on the back of your hand and forearm, going over your wrist. Then wrap gauze or a strip of cloth around your forearm and hand, going around your thumb too. Look at the professional RSI braces for inspiration.

First off, MGE is the most efficient way I know to get better at scout vs scout, you can pub, and play DM, but you are less likely to encounter another scout, and when you most battles are over with very quickly and you don't really learn from it.

If you have a problem with carpal tunnel then I recommend this I use it all of the time, and it seems to have a significant improvment on how my hand feels (my mouse hand).

Next if you want to land more shots you might want to change your mindset, and ONLY fire when you think it will do a significant damage. I know that sounds intuitive, but I notice a significant improvement in shots that I land when I think like this, instead of mindlessly shooting. If it gets frustrating then thats probably when you should stop and take a break.

If there is a significant skill difference move on after the 20 kills are up, and maybe focus and trying to dodge better instead of working on aiming. If you want someone to practice against then steam message me here. And I can just work on dodging, which you can always improve.

Edit: I live in NA btw, not sure I would be much help if you didn't live in NA.

I will try pronated & supinated as I had been doing hammer curls.

I usually work with a 2010 format I will try to slow down.

The mobilizations feels good. I had problems with elbow hyperextension so range isn't the issue but bringing blood flow to the elbow area feels good.

Are you talking about braces like this one ? I do not have one as I felt like this would not help much. What's your experience with braces ?

I get pretty nasty tennis elbow in both my arms from a combination of Ultimate Frisbee, lifting, typing, lab work, and knitting. When it gets really bad, I take ibuprofen and use a band like this one. I've used a similar band when I got jumper's knee (patellar tendonitis). I'm not sure whether something like this would work for triceps but it's worth looking into! Good luck.
