Try using a hemp wick, once you try it you will never want to use matches again.

u/bafflesaurus · 3 pointsr/trees

I'd put together a "stoner care package"; bee line hemp wick, "Holy Rollers" rolling paper and maybe a raw joint roller and some lighters. Total is $40.00 + shipping.

I bought 50 feet off amazon for $6 and it was free shipping

What "environment" are you currently in?

I've smoked for ~3 years, right after high school graduation i started.. When i'm staying with my parents I only keep a piece and/or my dugout with me, and I make sure to double bag my bud and keep it in a mason jar or something. Knock on wood my rents have been good about not going through my stuff so I just keep it in a backpack that I usually take out with me. Living at college is so nice though, able to keep my grinder, tube, vape, etc all out on my coffee table XD. A couple of my roommates smoke as well so its also nice not having to worry about filtering the smell. If I'm up for an adventure some mates and I roll up a blunt and go out to picnic point, which is right on my campus.

As far as any general advice I can give, I'd say simple is sometimes better in regards to buying pieces, tubes, etc. Intricate designs and quadruple percs are cool, but it can cause negatives in the hiding, cleaning, and durability departments. I have a tube with a single honeycomb perc, it stacks like a champ, is super easy to clean, and I get ripped as hell off it. My buddy has a triple tree perc (18 percs in total) - the drag sucks on it, its a pain to clean, and is like 3+ ft tall, not convenient at all.

I'd also suggest investing in some hemp wick/b-line.. this puppy has lasted me for over half a year. I honestly notice a cleaner taste when I use it, and I don't really experience the burning sensation in my throat that would come with using a straight butane lighter. If you ever get the chance/have some time, I would look into getting a vaporizer of some sort. I love smoking flowers out of a bong but that's not always practical. Vaping is also healthier since you're not inhaling combusted plant matter.

Hope this helps some, happy toking :)

It’s called a hemplight. I got a pack of 2 on Amazon with a little hempwick included. Here’s the link. Hemplights Hemp Wick Lighter 2 Pack Wrapper, Includes 8FT Hemp Wick USA (Green/Gray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RY56M5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pgh-BbXFKHVB3

Get you some hemp wick and zen pipe cleaners. Sucking butane from the lighter is no good and makes the bowl hit different. I get an inexpensive version off amazon along with the zen cleaning bristles

Hemp wick

Zen Pipe cleaners

Sugar and dishwashing soap also works to clean them out but like someone earlier recommended Orange Chronic or formula 420.

Enjoy bruh!

Hemp wick! Many people claim health benefits and taste improvement over a lighter, but the most noticeable benefit is because it seems to burn at a lower temperature than a lighter, making it easier on the lungs. This is is the one I got from Amazon, enough to last a lifetime, but if you're crafty you can buy your preferred hemp wick make a dispenser yourself. Just a corked bottle with a hole through the top. I love the dispenser. I was going to give up on hemp wick (thought it was too annoying when putting it out while taking a fat rip) until I got one. Now I can just give a quick snap of the wrist and it's out. 5/7 would recommend

they make special scissors to reach into jars and things where you can't really get to the wick with traditional scissors.

The rope is most likely [hempwick] (http://www.amazon.com/Humboldt-Organic-Hemp-Wick-Foot/dp/B004ZVNHNW). [Here is a video of hempwick being used to smoke] (https://youtu.be/m7pqExXaY-g)

Happy happy cake day And thank you!

u/Rubenick · 2 pointsr/Wishlist

There's scented candles with that goodness as well!

u/HairyAsHull · 2 pointsr/trees

mastablaze knows what hes talking about, the wick is fantastic, you are still inhaling carcinogens from the wick, but you are not getting the match flint residue or lighter fluid butane in your lungs. You can get it from any department/craft store or online: http://www.amazon.com/Humboldt-Organic-Hemp-Beeline-Replacement/dp/B004UINFJ6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1322370677&sr=8-6

I use this: www.amazon.com/Hemplights-Hemp-Lighter-Wrapper-Black/dp/B07DKF46M7

u/shwanz · 2 pointsr/trees

To minimize lighter sounds, purchase a hemp wick: (http://www.amazon.com/Bee-Line-Spool-Regular-Gauge/dp/B003UMVHQ6) It is a string that only needs to be lit once and can light many bowls, and it is also cheap to buy in bulk.

u/UndeadTed · 2 pointsr/witchcraft

Honestly its the artificial wax candles that burn weird, as they're designed to mostly evaporate. The other nice thing about beeswax is you can collect the melt and recast a new candle pretty easy. If you want to get fancy, you can buy a candle snuffer

u/JovialPanic389 · 1 pointr/trees

I would! Nice idea!

Theres also a lighter holder on Amazon with hemp twine that catches the fire. Saves your lighter fluid. Takes a bit of getting used to but I think its neat! https://www.amazon.com/Hemplights-Lighter-Wrapper-Black-Yellow/dp/B0711HN3T5/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1538451198&sr=8-13&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=hemp+lighter+holder

Ha! no. 3d printer is on the wish-list. $10 for 2 from Amazon.

I use these: Mighty Gadget (R) 4 oz Round Tins Screw Lid Container (12 pack) - 3.125" x 1.1875" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M5H8YKE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KuVUAbGV2BAJP

The Stirling samples fit perfectly and if you are careful removing it, the sample sticker fits perfectly on the top of the tin lid.

Mosquitos get me as soon as I open the door, so I always have to wear OFF! I use table lanterns with Tiki Bitefighter oil & it seems to help guests.

u/tequila_mockingbirds · 1 pointr/cedarrapids

And negatory, damnit. They came today and the wrong ones. This is what I get for not yanking one out and looking at it. I need https://www.amazon.com/C-J-SHOP-Pneumatic-Straight-Fitting/dp/B01LJZU9X2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1487624877&sr=8-4&keywords=Bowden+4mm+fitting these ones. With the thinner tip at the bottom, but the ones I got, don't have that little tip, they end jsut keep going. Don't suppose you have a spare 4mm or 5mm of the above?

u/Hungryhuthut · 1 pointr/trees

I would only use it on your bong inside since it is alittle hard to handle But dont be afraid to wrap it up on something but its worth bro
https://www.amazon.com/EricX-Light-Organic-Natural-Standard/dp/B01I2TXJEY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1496904591&sr=8-3&keywords=hemp+wick This is the one i have

u/PlausibleDeniabiliti · 1 pointr/vaporents

Hemp wick works good.

u/Snacks_is_Hungry · 1 pointr/saplings

Honestly, flower is going to be the cheapest method for you to use. If the taste or smell sucks for you guys, I definitely recommend buying some hemp wick or just some basic matches, and it will significantly improve the taste of the weed.

Personally, I prefer to smoke with matches on flower as it tastes exactly how a campfire smells to me, and it's amazing.

I hope this info helps!

You could tweak this concept to include this...perhaps modify your design to include a hemp wick. http://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Hemp-Holder-Humboldt-Organic/dp/B004ZVFY38

Yo bro, I got you!

First Rolling Papers

Second thing for sure is Filters

Now you need a grinder and there's a lot of good ones out there, this is the one I went with a few years back and I still use it all of the time, plus it came with a pollen press but... It's a bit pricey!

I'm gonna give you the rest of my typical setup that are less used by others and just the "little things"

  • A hand needle or an long/avg size but THIN screw/nail (anything). This really is a must, what I use is this guy

  • I have an average sized RAW (hemp) tray, however I've noticed I keep using it less and less. You'll be fine without one just use a book or something but it's something to consider.
*Get yourself a magnifying glass man. One of my all time favorite activities while I'm high with friends or even by myself is to just check out this dank skunk beautiful in front of me y'know? I went a step further and just recently bought a full on microscope.

  • This scale will be just fine give it a nice wipe every once n awhile and it will be fine.

  • HEMP WICK!! you'll want one it really is nice to have a kind of controlled flame. A typical bic lighter is actually making your trees too hot! You burnin away all of that deliciousness bro, gotta get a hemp wick. My preference is humboldt's hemp wick, they have been nothing but amazing for me constantly giving me random fun stuff for free and their product is solid.

  • Smell Proof Bags There's plenty of cheaper options that are probably just as good I just use these and haven't changed.

  • Check this Jar out! You want to be an ent, that's good, that's real good. This jar is the perfect representation of a proud and happy ent, just keep it filled!

Alright so that's the basic shiznit my man. On a side note I'd recommend just giving vaporizers a try if you have the resources. I just recently made the switch to a PAX2 from a grav water pipe. Let me tell you the transition has been beautiful. Anyways, I hope this was helpful. Toke care, pal.
u/hitforhelp · 1 pointr/trees

I get you. Well if thats the case vapourizers work wonders with hash. I have used it in my SSV before and the taste is wonderful. Also if you don't like the idea of inhaling the fire there is always hemp wick which I am personally a big fan of. I tend to buy it in 200feet bundles each time.

u/pacifica333 · 1 pointr/StonerEngineering

> Instead of having 10 foot of it wrapped up, it's a flower.

So.... for $15, I get 20 feet of hemp wick in a funky flower shape instead of 250 feet on a spool? Sounds reasonable. /s

This will make for cool sculptures.

That was easy!

My pet unicorn and I. His name is Stanley.

u/TheGeorge · 1 pointr/saplings

oh, yeah it does look a lot like twine, it's called Hemp Wick/Wax String/Bee line/Hemp String is a different thing. Amazon Link to one of them

It's only purpose is to make it easier to light bowls, it burns slowly and evenly so you can light at odd angles easily.

some people spread the natural fallacy myth (natural=better) for it, but it's about as bad for you as a regular lighter if not worse in some cases, it just makes it easier to light certain things.

u/AnythingApplied · 1 pointr/2healthbars

Actually, early candles, the wick didn't really burn at all and people used a specialized tool to trim the wick.

Later, they invented the soft wicks which flop over so that the tip touches the edge of the flame (where it is hotter than in the center) so it actually burns and doesn't need to be trimmed.

The wax actually absorbs into the wick and is pulled up towards the flame.
