I thought I had a Samsung one, but I found the receipt from early 2018 and it’s actually a brand called PNY that I went with. I found a link for it on Amazon, it’s actually way cheaper now than when I had bought it.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GQPXBQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tgl1DbB6DS4WB

It’s done really well for me, but if I was in the market for one right now, I’d wait a week for the Black Friday week sales/Cyber Monday and just pick from there for the best deal.

u/Zithero · 11 pointsr/techsupport

I've... got to ask the reason why you'd be running WoW on an SD card.

An SD Card has a maximum of 100,000 Write Cycles. As they are traditionally used for Cameras and the like this usually isn't a huge deal, because you'd need to take 100k photos, and even then you'd need to take those 100k photos across the entire size of the SD Card...

That being said a WoW install is huge, 50GB+ depending on add-ons. If you're running that, constantly, WoW has micro patches, writes changes to the files frequently for other reasons, and the like.

So while it was, certainly something that could work, it was going to fail at some point. Likely were averaging something like 15 to 65 write cycles every day on that poor SD card... and now it's fried.

I'd suggest, if you must have something external, to try and find an external SSD. These normally have support for many more write-cycles, so the point where it would be years before you'd ever have to worry about them.

edit:

Something like this might match affordability and use case better:

I bought this one recently. Its a little expensive, but its an official one made for xbox one by seagate, so decided to spend the extra money to get it as i had gift cards i needed to use anyway.

If you want one thats much cheaper that should work just as good, get this one:

I bought the SanDisk Extreme 500 and everything loads before you touch down. Sometimes you can see which rooftops will yield the best loot.

Plus, it helps with with other games that have ridiculous load times.

Hmm at this price why not get an nvme external SSD like the sabrent rocket external ssd for $10 less? I do not know if you would get more performance due to usb interface speed limits but why pay more money for a sata drive?

u/allin18 · 3 pointsr/PUBGXboxOne

This one is plug and play and has worked great for me the past few months.

SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD 250GB SDSSDEXT-250G-G25 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WGPCW5L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_B0HWAb103CR1C

u/17thspartan · 3 pointsr/DataHoarder

To expand on that:

2TB portable external HDD: $70

1TB portable external SSD: $310 - $397

1TB USB Flash Drive: $700? - $2.5k

The Amazon result was the only I could find that was selling a 1TB flash drive (ebay has them too, but ebay also has a lot of fakes); which I believe had a starting price of 700 dollars when it was first released. But given that nobody seems to sell them anymore, it seems this Amazon retailer decided to jack up the price.

I edit video, create in 3D and do music production. It really helps. This is on top of massive photoshop and other visual work. (I’m a designer at an ad agency.)

This thing is smaller than a credit card. Goes everywhere with me.

>If the other laptop is 15 years old, you might want to check that it supports SATA, and not IDE - otherwise an SSD is not going to be an option.

A Compact Flash to IDE adapter would still be better than whatever spinning disk originally came in the laptop. Ubuntu doesn't need much space. Even an 8 GB CF card would be more than enough for tinkering around.

u/kush4breakfast1 · 3 pointsr/PUBGXboxOne

u/Tuscan_Computer · 2 pointsr/WiiHacks

So for your working purposes, the best equipment may already be sitting in your house (if not cheap alternatives to them). Let me explain…

A) The best, cheapest hard drive you could have with ample size?

____a. If you have a 256GB or 512GB SSD sitting in one of your unused computer (I don’t think everyone has access to this, as not everyone works in an IT-based industry), then a simple USB 3.0 -> SATA converter cable, priced at a mere… $10.99 might save you a few extra dollars. This is IF you decided to go this route. Traditional external SSDs, nominally 2.5-inch or smaller, are very fast, with speeds of 6Gb/s or faster, so this could be an option. (This also has yet to be outlawed by the Wii modding community [or as far as I know--they're just as reliable, if not moreso than traditional SSD portables.])

____b. Otherwise, a simple $59.99 SSD – 250GB Portable may be sufficient and cost efficient for ya!

B) The emulators the Wii can handle are as follows:

____a. Nintendo systems leading up to Nintendo 64: Wii64

____b. Nintendo portable systems leading up to Nintendo DS: DeSmuMe Wii

____c. Sega systems up to Sega Saturn: Yabause Wii

____d. Sony systems—Sony PS1: WiiSX

____e. Atari Systems leading up to the Atari 7800: Wii7800

____f. …and a variously-mixed set of arcade/personal retro-gaming computers from the 70s – late 80s. Check the list here.

C) As for Nintendo Gamecube cards, there is this one, which is 512MB! And it only costs $13.99!

D) Personally, seeing that read-write speeds degrade over time, I would recommend (if you’re not using your external drive, partitioned like I mentioned in THIS post, like mine), then getting a decently fast SDHC card, may help: See this 128GB cheaper-end SanDisk, that is MORE than capable of holding plenty of games/apps for your Wii.

E) Also, if you have any troubles, I wouldn’t mind helping you out while getting any/all of this setup! You can just message me if you have any snags or anything, and I’d be more than glad to help!

…and trust me, I know the feeling. I don’t really mod my Wii much, except for when my USB Loader GX tends to act funny, and then I’m scrambling the internet looking for an update to inject into my FAT32 partition! Bahahah! #AncientWiiProblems

u/zacholter · 2 pointsr/DayZPS

WD 256GB My Passport SSD External Portable Drive, USB 3.1, Up to 540 MB/s - WDBKVX2560PSL-WESN https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C4TLLJL/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_L-VODbTCDH5RG

This is the one I use. It doesn't have alot of room but I only have DayZ on the SSD and it runs 100x better. The price was really nice for me too since DayZ is really the only game I needed to improve. Also it was very simple to install, just plug into the USB port on the PlayStation and set it up on the system. The only downfall to this device is the connections from the SSD to the PS4 are a little loose so if it isn't kept still it usually disconnects and you have to reformat it, which only takes about 1 minute. Other than that I've been extremely happy.

u/GrammarFailure · 2 pointsr/videography

None of these are reasonable unless you have a lot of money and really want a turnkey system/you actually need something that's as fast as 2 pcie m2 ssds striped together.

If you need something that can do 2800mb/s then...maybe? Samsung is coming out with a 1tb PCIE m.2 SSD for $650 so you're looking at $1300 for just 2 drives, but getting an external enclosure that utilizes thunderbolt3/usb type C and can actually saturate 2800mb/s is going to be very difficult if not impossible.

So the answer is.. it's kind of reasonable? If you're fine with a lowly 500MB/s buy a 850 EVO m.2 and an OWC enclosure and you've spent about $400 for 1tb. Or get a prebuilt Samsung T3 2tb for $750

These external usb3 SSDs are about half the size of a portable 2.5 inch hard drive. The prices have dropped a lot since these were first introduced. This 512GB version is about $177. These are super lightweight too.

>Didn't see your original reply but I can only imagine

It wasn't that bad, just snarky.

>Understand that a lot of times questions like these are made by people that are looking for quick fixes without any grounding in reality.

Sadly I'm well aware of that too. Have to fend off plenty of that IRL.

>Don't know what software you're running so I can't say whether a hybrid would help more than a raptor. Take a look at the benchmarks in the first link I posted to give you an idea of where it'll help. I've also never used one of these in a linux environment so I don't know if the difference in OS will limit the caching benefits of a hybrid - most of the work is done on the onboard controller, but who knows.

It's Ubuntu 10.10 10.04 with XFCE instead of full-on Gnome. Nothing terribly special about it except I'm using a modified Grub (the original grub not 2) that enables the L2 cache on the processor. The BIOS in this thing doesn't know what a P3 is so it doesn't enable the cache, it originally came with a P2.

>Also, don't know the model of the TP you're using, but are you sure it's SATA and not PATA? If PATA, you can mod it, but again, don't know if it would be worth it.

PATA. It's a 600e. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:600E (if you read further you'll see there was more than one "type" of 600e, this one is the later which has the 100mhz bus)

If the ultrabay weren't housing a secondary battery the solution would be simple, replace the internal with a 2.5" SSD and slap the original in a hard drive adapter. But having that extra battery makes enough of a difference in run time that it's gotta stay... both batteries are new, the bay battery adds almost two hours, which when I plug in the wireless N card brings it back down to what the main battery would achieve alone w/o wireless.

If I can get disk I/O up a bit then it'd be worth messing with further to hack in other things, like a Thinklight and internal wifi/bluetooth. With the modem out (it's useless in 2011 anyway) there's plenty of room for an internal self-powered USB hub too - unless I bother to find a power rail, then I can put in a powered one which would be much more useful.

edit: Almost forgot, one solution I've been kicking around is a pata-CF adapter thingy like this one with a 30MB/s card. What's stopping me is all the writing that would be done to it during the normal course of operation, not just user stuff but swap which is pretty much a requirement on a memory-limited POS like this.

u/Rodry2808 · 2 pointsr/videography

Why does it need to be a hard drive? Can't you edit from the ssd inside de Mbp and then transfer the files? I feel that you are worthlessly bottlenecking. But if you really need to edit outside your machine I would reccomend something like this and the a hardrive for storage. But you will never get fair speed from a mechanical hardrive regardless if it's Thunderbolt or USB 3. The speed of a hdd can't even match the top speed of both interfaces so it doesn't really matter (you would see a speed diference however but its from the cache and it would make a difference in a bunch of large files)

u/Bounty1Berry · 2 pointsr/vintagecomputing

Alternative: Any 486-or-so era laptop, using an adapter to run a CompactFlash card in lieu of the hard drive. Depending on the model you choose, it could easily be removed (or you could always cut a slot in the case to allow easy removal) and just slap the card in a reader on your desktop.

http://www.amazon.com/Syba-Connectivity-44-pin-Compact-Adapter/dp/B0036DDXUM for example.

Alternatively, something that supports a PCMCIA or onboard Ethernet could theoretically let you pass the files over the network, but a lot of machines and operating systems would be too primitive to handle the necessary software.

At college, I brought in a few 486 laptops, running either OS/2 3.0 or DOS + GEM, for note-taking. THe DOS ones performed better.

u/FakeSafeWord · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Just buy any inexpensive QLC or TLC NVMe m.2 drive (Sabrent rocket, intel 660p, inland premium, EX920 etc) and then put it into an NVMe Specific m.2 USB 3.1gen2 enclosure.

Mine does sequential R/W at about 3200mbps via USB 3.1gen2 port on my PC. But that's being copied from another PCIE3.0 NVMe that does 3200Mbps+ R/W speeds.

The read and ride speeds of the external drive will be limited to the read and write speeds of whatever drive you are transferring to or from.

Sata is 500mbps max, Nvme is 1000-3500 or even 4500 if you have the new PCIE4.0 NVMe and a motherboard to match. The latency and IOPS are also better. Seriously you can run a modern AAA title from an external USB drive now and never see the difference. Installing windows from one is about as fast as you can click through the menus. Booting windows takes less time than it takes you to reach out to turn your PC on, sit down and get comfortable.

Typical USB thumb drives are usually in the range of 10-80mbps read and write. They're cheap and good for documents and such, but if you need to physically move production work like video files, I definitely recommend upgrading.

EDIT: Or just buy the Sabrent nvme that comes in an enclosure that's cheaper than if you bought them separate, is $10 cheaper than the WD and is at least 6x as fast as this WD drive on sequential read and writes. Cheaper, smaller, faster. Should come with 5 year warranty but not 100% on that. 1.8 million MTBF.

Online storage (iCloud, Dropbox, etc.) is ideal. There are some wifi storage devices that you also use such as

SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NB1IJ7J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gXRUzbCBFH05K

IMHO however, plugging in is usually the fastest/easiest method. If you have access to a Mac you can also use Image Capture if you really don't want to use iTunes.

u/Etrenix · 1 pointr/windows8

Yes your scenario is quite correct.

I do understand that it wouldn't be ideal, but I'd like to see the outcome anyway. Like you said, it'd be a fun experiment to try out. If it turns out unplayable then at least I know for future reference. If it turns out well then all the more better!

Of course nothing external could replace the native install of windows and anything close would probably cost a fortune and is probably still not optimised as it is new technology.

u/Batcannn · 1 pointr/PUBGXboxOne

I think that has the same write speed as the internal drive on the Xbox. You want an SSD either portable which is just plug and go or an internal SSD with an enclosure case. Here's an example of portable which I own: https://www.amazon.ca/PNY-Elite-240GB-Portable-Solid/dp/B01GQPXBQC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2X6OV52EAR63R&keywords=pny+ssd+240gb&qid=1554963011&s=gateway&sprefix=pny+ssd&sr=8-3

i’m on a 1X too, i upgraded from a launch XB1 and was pleased with the quicker feels, but my husband is on a 1S and i got him a ssd external for xmas last year. his load times were so much faster than mine on the 1X (or at least they seemed that way!) so i picked up a Seagate 500gb game drive, it was on sale for like 80-some and since i would only really need it for D2 anyway, 500gb is plenty of space for that. it plugs into the back of the xbox, instant format, took about five minutes to transfer D2 and all the expansions over and it’s been lightning fast ever since :3

u/SvenSveningt0n · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I have an SSD external on my PS4, and it currently takes up 81.67 GB on a 1TB SSD. I got a large one only for extra storage for any other games i want to run faster.

The one i bought is here, for reference.

u/avguru1 · 1 pointr/editors

Avid is, unfortunately, very slow. Virtually any drive will be OK.

If I could pick anything, I'd go with a RAID5 or RAID 6 system, connected via thunderbolt or USB 3.

If you need a SINGLE drive, then an SSD over Thunderbolt. In fact, there are some deals on Amaozn for G-Tech SSDs: https://www.amazon.com/G-Technology-0G06053-G-Drive-Portable-Storage/dp/B0765QBGZZ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=g-technology&psr=PDAY&qid=1563207911&s=prime-day-secondary&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sr=1-1&fbclid=IwAR0Gqckr1_QoqAgsOAZnsAx7NQuQcaZ2Df4kvzvalKBCulj6foJ44ApMfz4&pldnSite=1

u/royeiror · 1 pointr/techsupport

Replacing the hard drive for a similar one is a bad proposition, being as how it's very very old tech which is very expensive and prone to fail just because of age.

I'd go the Compact Flash conversion route, and buy a converter and a 32GB Flash Card and call it a day.

although you could spend more and get a dual card converter that fits nicely in your caddy and spend on faster cards.

I personally edit of the internal fusion drive in my 2012 iMac and store footage and personal stuff on a 5TB desktop hard drive (almost full).

Hind-sight 20-20, I would have preferred to get a larger raid array for my desk, something on the order of 20TB. Then also have a 500GB or bigger external SDD for fast editing of my current 1 or 2 projects. And then also a 2-4TB external hard drive for on-site backup and transporting large files. I don't know how I would like that setup, but from those that have some of the components, it seems like it would be a great setup. I would then reserve my computer hard drive for personal stuff.

I have a Samsung T1 Portable SSD

It was a little under $600. Stupid fast, but I havent tried to plug it in to any of my android devices yet.

u/ctxbula · 1 pointr/NewMaxx

Hi! I am an OG Xbox one console owner and I am looking at getting an SSD or external hard drive as I want faster loading times and might be running out of space soon. I mainly play Destiny 2, NBA 2k20, and Call of Duty and these games/DLCs will be coming out soon. I delete a lot of games I haven't played in a month, so I usually have no more than 5 games installed. For example, I'll be deleting NBA 2k19 and BO4 so I can install the new COD and 2k20, so space may not be an issue.

I was wondering if you can help a console player. I went on amazon and found a TC SUNBOW 500GB SSD for $90, but found another Samsung 500gb one that is way more expensive. I'll link some others:

Sandisk

ADATA

I may be asking much, but I am wondering what is the difference between some of these. All are about 500gb, but some are way cheaper than others. Is it the brand? Keep in mind, I only am looking to buy an SSD for load times first, storage second (as I mentioned before, I always delete games I'm not playing).

u/QYV- · 1 pointr/Seaofthieves

that is NOT an SSD drive, imho that's one of the cheaper/slower drives you can buy. just because it's branded doesn't make it ideal :) remember ANY drive works fine.

so you're locking the price point at around $90 no problem. that's what I was referring to in my original post... HDs get much more capacity for the same money, SSDs are a lot faster.

Here are some ~$90 SSD on Amazon, I just searched for "usb3 ssd 240GB":
https://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-240GB-SuperSpeed-Portable-Support/dp/B00EZ2FRP2
https://www.amazon.com/PNY-Elite-240GB-Portable-Solid/dp/B01GQPXBQC
https://www.amazon.com/KINGSHARE-USB3-0-External-Portable-Support-Silver/dp/B077FV4DDH

anything along those lines should work.. those are self contained SSD drives with a USB enclosure so the drive is more protected. Personally I got one of these which would let me connect any SATA (the data connector) drive to usb: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB3S2SAT3CB-Drive-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00HJZJI84
and then bought a nice fast 240GB SSD drive when it went on sale... this deal is already over but here's an example:
https://slickdeals.net/f/11538691-240gb-crucial-bx300-sata-2-5-solid-state-drive-58-40-free-shipping
or this: https://slickdeals.net/f/11535383-patriot-burst-2-5-sata-iii-internal-ssd-240gb-55-120gb-36-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

so theoretically if you got the drive for around $50-60 and the $10 cable you saved around $20-30 from your $90 price point. all depends on how much you care about having a nice enclosure. Personally I have no problem sitting the raw drive attached by cable on my xbox in my entertainment center it's pretty secure. If you have kids or dogs or the xbox is exposed I'd get one in an enclosure

.

When you finally get a drive and plug it in to your Xbox, the Xbox should prompt you asking what you want to do with the drive... if not just go into settings / system / storage. You need to tell the Xbox that you want to use it for GAMES (as opposed to just media) so it will need to format the drive. At that point, you can move games (via the Manage Game dialog) from wherever it is currently installed to the external drive. Since it's Windows, there's also a "default install location" you can change if you want things you download to automatically go the external drive.

SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD 500GB SDSSDEXT-500G-G25 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NB1IJ7J?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have an OG Xbox One and no longer have any rendering issues. Just make sure once you set up the drive on your Xbox, you transfer PUBG (and the test server, if you play it!) to the SSD.

The 250GB model is $50 less, but I had to really mess around with it to get it to work on my Xbox (possibly because it’s under the stated storage capacity minimum (256GB) on the Xbox to use an SSD for storing games).

u/ThelVluffin · 1 pointr/PUBGXboxOne

This Sandisk is the one I purchased originally before getting an X. I'd be loaded into the lobby before the counter even started half the time.

u/o_Blackadder_o · 1 pointr/PUBGXboxOne

Best Buy has them (US). Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-500-Portable-250GB-SDSSDEXT-250G-G25/dp/B06WGPCW5L

Short USB cord comes with it. Connect it with your XB turned off. Start up XB, format for games in XB, and transfer PUBG to the SSD in Manage Game menu.

You will pay more per GB for external SSDs, but you'll have better peace of mind if you accidentally bump or drop the SSD while it's connected to your computer.

I prefer Samsung for SSDs. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Portable-500GB-External-MU-PS500B/dp/B00RWXVMRS

As this is Samsung's first external SSD offering, we won't know about future design.

If consistency is important, you could always buy multiple external enclosures and install internal SSDs inside.

u/Croktopus · 1 pointr/VideoEditing

I think USB ssds will be your best bet, like others have said.

any of these should do the job, and obviously there are larger and smaller sizes depending on what you need. it's not gonna be as fast as an internal ssd, and i think you'll need at least usb 3.0 to get good speeds (im not sure where the bottleneck is, if 3.1 gen 2 will actually make a difference), but it'll still demolish an internal hdd and probably any economical nas based solution

u/MadPcGamers · 1 pointr/LinusTechTips

Yeah, the laptop has all 3.0 USBs so all good there! Thanks for the information though, I had my eye on the western digital drives.

Are there any that you’ve used personally and or would recommend? As for a USB 3.0 cable, I assume not all are made equally.. any reasonable priced / quality ones you recommend?

Edit: oh jeez please justify me spending $300 on this 2tb SSD. Is this a good deal or am I insane. https://www.amazon.com/1TB-Passport-Portable-Storage-WDBK3E0010PSL-WESN/dp/B07CFY9SHX?th=1

Sorry for the multiple replies...I found this: VectoTech Rapid 1TB External SSD USB-C Portable Solid State Drive (USB 3.1 Gen 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JKMZ8FA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TTUFDbG2Z44XK

Would this be good for my Windows 8 Laptop?

Edit: there’s actually a seagate SSD on amazon that looks about as expensive as the Samsung T5.

u/rockercaster · 1 pointr/teslamotors

I don’t know what car you have, but in my Model X, I used to get “Write speed too slow” errors on my Samsung 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive. So I put this SSD and wired an L-Shaped USB plug through the built in dock connector. It’s amazing.

u/castlejayskull · 1 pointr/DestinyTechSupport

The Samsung T5s have great reviews.

Seagate has a couple interesting offerings too:
Seagate Fast SSD & Seagate Game Drive for Xbox
(it appears the only difference is the enclosure/Xbox branding and 2-months Game Pass i.e. no additional optimizations etc.)

Also a neat option (what I ended up doing)... upgraded SSD in my workstation, picked up an enclosure for $15, plugged it in, win-win. Works like a charm (and it's even tax-deductible! ; )

Unless your time is worthless, get an external SSD instead. They're not that expensive and read/write speeds will be much, much better.

EDIT: ALSO FYI if you are on xbox: XBOX claims that you have to use at least a 500gb drive, but that is false... It will work with anything over 240gb's

u/ICanLiftACarUp · 1 pointr/AnthemTheGame

It can be a bit tricky to find one that works best with Xbox because sometimes the formatting is wonky - and fair warning I have not used an external SSD with Xbox, this is really only experience using SSDs with my PC - both internal, external, and internal with an external case. Something like this one would be fine, but the problem you have to balance is storage versus speed. If you want to run one game really nicely, like Anthem, maybe a smaller hard drive is better. You'll only really need 100GB at most unless this game doubles or triples in size over the years. A search on Amazon for "External SSD Xbox" should lead to a handful of usable ones.

Don't worry about an SSD, the speed boost is tiny compared to how much you'd be paying to get storage comparable to a HDD.

I've used a WD Passport for almost two years now (and I use them for computer backups as well) and I've had zero issues whatsoever.

WD My Passport 2TB drive for $92, or the 1TB version for $72 (though I personally feel that doubling the storage for only $20 is better, both cost-wise and in terms of long-term value).

Or you could pay almost $400 for a Samsung SSD with half the storage.

u/someguyfromky · 1 pointr/RedditDads

Me and you might have different terms of expensive. $750 is not cheap for me lol or I'm looking at the wrong thing

u/smackythefrog · 1 pointr/mac

Pulled this from iFixit.

Looks a bit pricey but it is what it is. 128 GB is out. That's the 256 for $200 and the 512 is more than that.

No chance for an external SSD, so long as you're not on the go too much? Samsung has a cheap one on Amazon like this one?

u/Uryken · 1 pointr/buildapc

Alright, and I can just use the stock fan for the CPU?

Also, I was thinking about the Kingston 256GB for SSD (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KW3MT7W/?tag=pcpapi-20). Would that be a good option?

u/Sketch257 · 1 pointr/EngineeringStudents

Yeah I think I'll go with the MSI then. Thanks for bringing it up! When you're referring to buying a 250 gb ssd, are you referring to an external drive like this or something I would install in the laptop itself like these?

u/kyliejennerinsidejob · 1 pointr/JUSTNOMIL

You should really give him a system on a stick. Buy a good, small portable ssd like this, throw some linux onto it and youre good to go.

u/bkchn · 1 pointr/laptops

Any recommendations on what extra storage to buy? This seems to be what Amazon is recommending. Is it correct? Also, what did you go for with the screen?

u/RompaStompa1 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Which one shall I choose out of these two? My HDD is the same make as the second link, HyperX. But Corsair seem to be a better brand. Is it worth paying roughly £20 more for a bigger GB size? Or shall I stick with the better company?

lol, why do you need 4TB? You can‘t play so many games at the same time, so use uninstall... 1TB is fine and better internal than an external.
