Over 10F, pretty much any headband works for me.

I've warn this balaclava on a few sub-10F runs and it went okay. No complaints about the product, just it's hard for me to run with anything over my mouth (and covering the nose is right out! good day, sir!) so it didn't quite solve any cold nose/lips problems I was aiming for.

I'll continue wearing it for sub 10F as my face does stay generally warmer with it (I can expand on this if anyone is looking at getting a balacalava). Closer to 0F and sub-0F, I'll probably try out this with vaseline which I saw suggested elsewhere for nose/lips/cheeks.

For the canopy used in modern DG gliders, they claim that "The canopies do not totally screen out UV, but do absorb about 95% of it".

As for bucket hats, yeah they are dorky looking, but they are the best thing for the purpose. If you feel too weird wearing a plain old bucket hat, why not get a novelty hat? At least then it looks like you're self-aware of how goofy they look.

Most of the time here it doesn't rain hard enough to require an umbrella, and they're rather unweildy anyway. I wear a soft shell almost all of the year and only break out the rain jacket for hiking or biking in the rain. The hood of the rain jacket, or a waterproof booney hat works much better than an umbrella when you need to keep your head dry.

As one big headed whiteboy in the northeast to another i feel your pain. Ive been on the hunt to for a perfect summer hat for poolside and kayaking and to embarrass my gf with.

I bought this from amazon and it's alright.

I found a really nice hat that fit perfectly in disney springs but it was $80 so i didnt buy it, but now i realize i should have. Its easier to buy a hat in person.

It looks like a Patrol Cap, or a GI Cap. I found a link to an Amazon page with a bunch of different coloured caps.

I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for, but probably students will like DJ Smash "Moscow never sleeps' or "Volna". Also listen to DJ Groove, sometimes he takes popular Soviet or classical Russian composition and make remix: "Uletay" or folk one.

And you simply must start your party with this track :)

Probably will be cool if bartenders wear Russian navy t-shirts and ushankas.

I’ve taken to basically making my own. Decky makes deep hats in tons of colors and then I’ll find a Braves embroidered patch on Etsy or eBay and just take it to my tailor to be sewn on.

https://www.amazon.com/DECKY-Tone-Flat-Bill-Snapbacks/dp/B00LGX2NBE?th=1&psc=1

It’s not the game day hat, but it’s 100x better fit than the ones that look like a beenie on the top of my head.

u/TumasaurusTex · 2 pointsr/ThreadGames

I order each thing separately.
1.Fishing Net
2.50 feet of 550 Cord
3.Utility Knife
4.Aviator Cap and Goggles

Use net to capture other drones, use utility knife and 550 cordage to fashion 5 point harness and attach drones, don my aviator cap and goggles and fly like a falcon back to Amazon to spend my remaining $33.08.

I went all out last winter investing in my winter run get-up and have found the best gear in my opinion for ANY conditions (I live in Iowa and frequently ran in snowy, sub-zero weather).

Jacket (unbelievably warm for being so thin):

Shoes (prepare to run through 3-foot snow-drifts for the hell of it):

Pants (like the jacket, amazingly warm and easy to run in):

Gloves (they may look funny, but you'll be very, very warm):

Good luck!!

Here are some of a similar style. The second one that closely resembles the blue one is out of stock though.

Edit: There's also this.

It seems a bit pricey for a beanie. Would it be significantly warmer than this wool watch cap? http://www.amazon.com/WIGWAM-MILLS-F4707-052-OS-WORSTED-WATCH/dp/B00GS8DP8M/ref=pd_sim_sg_4

YOU SHOULD GET ONE AND THEN COME OVER AND WE CAN HAVE A HELMET HAT PARTY! :D

Seriously though- it's super warm and cozy. This is mine, but there are a few other sellers/color variations on amazon! :)

u/LSDean · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Yeah, I'm not planning on wearing it when I visit family there. I was thinking this is more fitting.

:P

u/Starky357 · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

I would go to a sporting goods store, or tool store. They have these exact hats for cheap. I personally like Carhart, which they have deemed the Odessa. I beat the piss out of it, it gets covered in paint, sawdust, grease, oil, you name it! They are made from like a heavy canvas, and come in a ton of colors and fits. I would avoid the velcrow, the hat will outlive it. They even have a cold version with fold down flaps.

u/DoctorStrife · 1 pointr/gamegrumps

this is pretty close...

u/robot_dan · 1 pointr/EDC

It was $7 when I got mine. Unfortunately they are $20 each now. This is the one:

>why not get a novelty hat?

Those are awesome, thank you!

After about 18 years (!) of faithful service my hat lost most of it's structural integrety, and the plain white replacement, while functional, just doesn't "feel" right . . .

EDIT: They are only 5.99€ over here, and now I have to wait until April to wear it . . .

u/StanleyMk2 · 1 pointr/secretsanta

Oh no, I mean if an item on Amazon will only ship to the U.S, is there a service where I can ship it to a resident, and pay them to ship it on to us :) We live in the Republic of Ireland, and a bunch of cool items (Like this! http://www.amazon.com/Knight-Helmet-Knitted-Winter-Black/dp/B00G24MP2Y/ref=pd_sim_sbs_a_2/187-7608039-0245558?ie=UTF8&refRID=0Z13T1AT9D0VSE7MEDF7 ) don't ship to us, which is unfortunate :(

u/Jedibrad · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Personally, I would recommend a Wigwam Watch Cap. I got mine a few days ago, so I'm not sure about durability, but it seems solidly built and quite warm. If you bump up the price, you could get a Smartwool Merino Wool Beanie which would be softer and might even last longer. On the other end of the spectrum, you could save a little bit of cash by buying U.S. Navy one, but you have to be careful -- even though they have the "Genuine 100% Wool" tag, some of them are actually acrylic. This one seems legit, check it out.

u/reddysetgoooo · 0 pointsr/Brawlstars

I wanted an embroidered one at first but the design would cost about $75– not worth the price imo. I found this hat on Amazon and used a printer and transfer paper to get the design onto the hat. I had to edit it in GIMP 2 a little to get the colors right.

If you are looking to do this yourself, good luck! It is quite the process.
