Upvoted, but I would suggest forcing yourself to go to the gym three times a week for a month or two regardless of whether you enjoy it or not.

If you're anything like me, you research the fuck out of problems, so you should read up on clothing, working out, and whatever else you need to in your particular situation.

The Indispensable Guide to Classic Men's Clothing

This book will teach you about the basics of classic men's clothing with a focus on suits and other fundamentals that you should know. And you can impress people by being able to tell an Italian cut suit from a sack suit just by looking at it. It's a great book to learn the fundamentals.

Getting Stronger

I have worn out three copies of this book in the last nine years. It's a small phone book full of useful information and about a thousand separate exercises for every part of your body. I own quite a few other books on conditioning and weightlifting, but this is the one I always consult first if I want to mix my routine up or change something.

Streching

Do not forget to do cardio and especially stretching. It will prevent injury and injury is one of the main reasons people drop workout routines. Plus being flexible just feels better. I can't explain it better than that.

And on the topic of injury avoidance and proper form, don't be afraid to ask questions but make sure that the people you ask are really qualified to answer. And just because a guy is cut doesn't mean he knows what he is doing and can give good advice.

For instance, when I began I started at a small family-owned gym and got a lot of help from the owner. The guy was in his mid 60s and cut out of rock. He had just recently stopped doing triathlons and he'd been working out and competing in bodybuilding contests decades before I was born. In other words, he knew his shit so he was an invaluable source of information, not to mention inspiration.

Other than all that, be prepared for some of your friends or family to get in the way of your self-improvement. It's a sad truth, but sometimes the people who should be most supportive are the ones who want to hold you back at their level.

Later you might want to get involved in some physical competition, like boxing, cycling, or whatever. I am convinced that men are made to compete, as are women in their own way, and that getting involved in something physically competitive will help clear your mind of the doubt and fear that's helped you to hold yourself back to this point. Testosterone is not a bad thing.

You are going to have to overcome a lot of difficulties if you want to succeed in anything, let alone getting in shape, so do it or don't. It's all up to you. But never forget that everyone walked into the weightroom for the first time at some point and no one is better than you just because they did it first.

tl;dr get off your ass, study up and hit to the gym

I've been to sports doctors, chiropractors, physios, pelvic floor physios, massage therapists, osteopaths, you name it. Pelvic pain is a very common thing, there are Facebook groups with thousands of people looking for answers like me. There is also Reddit's related to this. It is often referred to a Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome, or Chronic Non Bacterial Prostititis. Basically unexplained pelvic pain. Trust me, I didn't know this was such a common thing until it happened to me and how little medical knowledge there is on the subject. Doctors are clueless with this problem.

because Mucusless Healing Technology is utter rubbish. The idea that you can cure any illness through diet would actually be worrying for someone bringing up a family. This kind of thinking is dangerous and stupid.

The depression and digestive issues you write about suggest that you may be a celiac. Please don't kill yourself until you get tested. If you have a gluten allergy, you will find a big increase in your health when you stop eating it. But get tested before you do that. Gluten literally saws the villi off the lining of your intestine, and the villi are what uptakes nutrients into your body. Without vitamins like folic acid, you suffer neurologically. You don't get enough iron, calcium, B vitamins, and D either. All of those vitamins have a dramatic effect on your health. If you'd like to read about nutrition, Prescription for Nutritional Healing is a great book. http://www.amazon.com/Prescription-Nutritional-Healing-Practical-Reference/dp/1583330771
You can learn a ton about how to heal depression by reading that part of the book. It will also help you with celiac if you have it.

As to your book, if you're self publishing it, you can post a link on social media sites like Reddit, and make people aware of it a lot more effectively than by jumping off a bridge. As for the Aspergers, I thought I had it, but was instead diagnosed with PTSD and social anxiety. Still, I have many of its attributes, and I understand about the social cues. I am completely unable to read people, so I often say things I shouldn't. Still, I have friends and a life and a wonderful daughter. You're only 21; there's a lot ahead of you, and romance does come to people, whether or not they anticipate it.

Your health could improve just from finding out about the celiac. Please PM me if you have questions. Hang in there. You can get past this.

I’ve had hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction for 18 months now. Started when I had a real stressful life event happen to me and triggered the whole thing. Pain started in tip of my penis and epididymis, then moved to perennial area, buttocks and side of my abs. Originally my pain was at a 7-8 out of 10 but has now slowing progressed downward to 2 after doing the below regime. It’s still affecting me but I’m getting control of it and confident I can get rid of it completely (as many people have).

It is posited that the root cause of hypertonic pelvic floor is a central nervous system and sympathetic nervous that’s gone haywire, usually do to emotional or physical trauma/stress.

Here are the things that have helped reduce the pain the most for me.

  1. Stop catastrophic thinking. Catastrophic thinking triggers stress which triggers your central nervous system which triggers your pelvic floor to tighten.

Your pain in your penis is referential pain coming from tense pelvic floor muscles. This condition won’t kill you (though it will annoy you) and most people resolve it 100% but it requires a multi modal approach to curing and takes discipline and time (months)

  2. Do lots of exercise to increase blood flow in the pelvis. It goes away for me completely when I jog or play soccer. Try to do aerobic exercise everyday.

  3. Do pelvic stretches every morning

    https://www.pelvicpain.org.au/easy-stretches-to-relax-the-pelvis-men/

  4. Read ‘Headache in the Pelvis’ and read ‘the Mindbody prescription

    https://www.amazon.com/Headache-Pelvis-Wise-Anderson-Protocol-Definitive/dp/1524762040

    https://www.amazon.ca/Mindbody-Prescription-Healing-Body-Pain/dp/0446675156

  5. Do internal trigger point release on the pelvic floor to release muscle tension in the short term. Look at buying the thera wand available online.

    https://www.physiotherapyroom.com/Therawand-Trigger-Wand

‘Headache in Pelvis’ book has trigger point release techniques in the book.

  6. Meditate 20min in the morning and before you go to bed and learn reverse kegels and belly breathing .

I use the headspace app on iOS to help:
    https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/headspace-meditation-sleep/id493145008

  7. Stay away from stimulants (caffeine/alcohol) it activates your central nervous system which triggers your pelvic area to tighten and flare up.

  8. Eat healthy and get lots of sleep. If I sleep less than 7 hrs my flare ups happen way more.

  9. Take a high quality all in one men’s vitamin (optimen) and fish oil.

10.. Some people also complain that orgasming triggers flare ups as it causes the pelvic floor to convulse via spasm. Just so you know.

    Good luck, you’ll beat this.

And post back when you do, its important that other people hear your success.

Sometimes I wonder about the collapse--will it be the opportunity for the world to return to localized living? Will everyone finally understand that our mother can't keep giving and giving without a point of exhaustion? I feel your pain, I know that settlers with the awareness are also hindered by what they see around them and it's very disheartening when it's your own people doing it. But do remember that indigeneity (or "realness") can be a mindset, not necessarily a point of descent--much like how the imperial mindset (or "the sickness") has effected some of our own as well.
So here's some suggested readings that might inspire you, if you haven't read them already:

Physical exercise is a mood elevator. Get into the best shape of your life by running, swimming, Tai Chi, Yoga, hiking and backpacking, surfing or dancing. Drink a lot more water, like a gallon a day. Some times chemicals in our environment and food affect use more than we realize. Water will flush this out and bring balance. Eat more fruit and vegetables. Try to reduce processed foods and meats in your diet until you become stable. Your thoughts are creating problems for you so take up meditation to learn to control that.

You need a support group. Larger organizations will have more programs, smaller groups may be easier to relate to.

Do not give up on yourself. Get up early and watch the sun rise. It will be different every day. Watch the sunset. Thank the universe for one more day. In some native cultures, sunrise and sunset are said to be the crack between the worlds of flesh and spirit. Communication is said to be more productive at these times. I have no proof of this. I only know I feel better when I do it.

My husband and I came pretty close to divorcing over a similar thing. He didn't believe me for over a year. He just didn't get it, even when the doctors tried to explain. The thing that finally drove it home for him was the dysautonomia handbook from dysautonomia international. I bought it for myself. We had been through several nasty fights with a lot of screaming, and I told him I was going to leave because I felt alone anyway. Somehow that inspired him to pick up the book and read it. Seeing the things I had tried to tell him, in print, somehow made it stick. I really think that book is the only reason we are still married. He gets it now. We are a lot happier.

I'm sorry I don't have the information readily available so the time required is asking too much. It's more medical research that transfers over to use in dermatology.

If you want to research it yourself I know extensive information can be found in this book on it. I don't remember if it's written for the average person to understand or not though, you'll have to look into it more.

Nah, man. Once we all read Dr. Levy's book about how we could cure cancer, Ebola and Lyme disease with some Vitamin C, we all rushed out to Whole Foods and bought as much organic OJ as we could carry. When a patient walks in with excruciating pain, instead of a root canal now I just give them orange juice mouthwash. Like Dr. Levy, I don't have time for peer-reviewed research and I'm already self-publishing a book I'm sure will sell hundreds of copies!

You might look into a functional medicine practitioner to help you find if you have food or environmental sensitivities. They are specifically trained in these areas and can probably help you pinpoint what you are reacting to. There's also a book you can buy "The Elimination Diet" that explains quite a lot about it and how deeply it can affect you. https://www.amazon.com/Elimination-Diet-Discover-Making-Tired/dp/1455581860/ref=sr_1_3?

> Crohn's is permanent

There was a guy who almost died from Crohn's. He just about had his entire GI tract removed but likely wouldn't have survived so they sent him home. He attributes his recovery primarily to a black powder he started taking that's a seed form of probiotics.

There was a small study done with this probiotic and a placebo. The probiotic group reported very good results with several reporting becoming asymptomatic IIRC.

The guy's name is Jordan Rubin and the book he wrote about his story is Patient Heal Thyself (Amazon link, but you can probably find it elsewhere). He went on to turn the probiotic into a supplement others could obtain. It's called Primal Defense. Here is a link to the study.

It's no triple-blind study with gobs of participants, but when you're desperate, you don't necessarily wait for mainstream acceptance for a perfectly safe probiotic (also that's a train that's never coming). It was no silver bullet for me, but I don't have Crohn's, but food sensitivities + digestive issues.

All that to also say that it seems to support what you may have indicated: Decimating the good bacteria in your gut can lead Crohn's (genetic predisposition likely being a factor) and restoring said bacteria can reverse it.
Not sure if you're familiar with [the yummy sounding] fecal transplants, but they've gotten cheaper & easier (frozen pills!) and would likely have a same/similar effect.

edit: Changed Amazon link to fit Reddit's rules.

I'll try (and fail, probably) to keep this short.

Several years ago, I was in terrible pain and was diagnosed with herniated discs. I was told it might be related to weight lifting, or computer use, etc., etc. Had the MRI's that proved it, had the spinal fusion which failed to alleviate the pain, etc., etc., etc.

Basically, I got so desperate that I was seriously considering just stringing myself up from the rafters, because I felt like there was no way I could go through life with this much constant pain.

After the second (failed) spinal fusion surgery, and upon being advised to have a third, I decided that the dozen doctors I'd seen in the prior 1.5 years clearly didn't know what the hell they were talking about.

So, I took things into my own hands and....guess what? Found a cure.

After doing a fair amount of studying, I've come to the conclusion that back-pain/herniated-disc/etc., are all incorrect, and are in fact symptoms of one of the most mis-diagnosed conditions in the country.

Basically, the long and short of it is: after two years of neurologists, occupational therapists, every anti-inflammatory and pain-medication in the book, and two back surgeries...I read a book and followed the exercises mentioned in them, and was cured in about two weeks.

And yes, I expect anyone reading the above to be very skeptical of that claim. Go ahead and be skeptical; I encourage it. All I can say is, if things aren't improving, you probably don't have much to lose by spending two days reading a $10 book.

It's not brain surgery, but it requires a certain amount of discipline for at least a couple of weeks.

It's all based on the work of a professor of medicine at NYU named Dr. John Sarno.

If you are interested in a very basic, step-by-step kind of plan, i.e., a "Do X tomorrow morning, Do Y the next day, Do Z the following day" type of thing, this is the best book for it, by Fred Amir:

http://www.amazon.com/Rapid-Recovery-Back-Neck-Pain/dp/0966982614/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266587108&sr=8-1

If you are interested in the actual science behind why this stuff works the way it does (which might be useful to read, because otherwise some people might think this is crackpot medicine, or some new-age-crap, as opposed to the science-based treatment that it is), then read this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Mindbody-Prescription-Healing-Body-Pain/dp/0446675156/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266587189&sr=1-1

You might wonder why, if Dr. Sarno is the scientist behind this, why I recommend the first book instead, which is not written by him. Reason being that, in my experience, Sarno's own books are great for understanding the science and so forth...but the first book by Amir actually presents a much better and more specific step-by-step plan for what to actually do about it, whereas Sarno can get bogged down in the science of why it works...but isn't as good about saying "Do this, then do this, and then do this."

If you want to read more about Dr. Sarno, here is a link on Wikipedia. I don't expect you to change your entire treatment program based on PM on reddit, but if you are as desperate as I was, you'll probably find spending $10 for the book and 2 days reading it to be a mighty fine investment.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sarno

Best of luck. It' possible the above does not apply to you, and I am not personally a doctor and obviously can't diagnose you. But I can say what you described fit my situation to a "T", and I very strongly suspect it's the same condition I had. And I can tell you, without any doubt whatsoever, the system cured me.

For the record, I am in no way associated with either of the above authors or books and receive no financial or other consideration from them or anything related to them.

I just have a lot of sympathy for people undergoing what I went through, and are dealing with a medical establishment that simply does not, in the main, accurately diagnose and treat this problem.

TL;DR: I had the exact same problem and was cured of it by reading a $10 book and following some simple exercises.

You could try the road by eating certain types of food, as stated in this book:

https://www.amazon.com/Self-Healing-Colitis-Crohns-4th/dp/0971752656

Morning:
Only bananas, ripe (brown spickles on the skin)

Afternoon:
Juice of bananas, apple and celery

Evening:
Steamed sweet potatoes with steamed carrots

Try this for a few days/a week and see if it helps.

Quit eating animal food and dairy products and stop using oils.

If it does help and your stools are normal and there is no blood, there is a followup as stated in the book. It’s really worth reading!

>I found a few interesting articles, but they are mostly about otherworldly Himalayan monks that can make their bodies hot.

Yeah, that practice is called Tummo and is used as a tantric practice to achieve complete Buddhahood. It is a part of the Six Yogas of Naropa and should not be practiced without a qualified teacher by any means.

If you are interested in the healing aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, then there is an entire cycle of practices that come from the Medicine Buddha.

Here is a good book on the subject with a few interesting practices to follow - Boundless Healing: Meditation Exercises to Enlighten the Mind and Heal the Body

>This book offers simple meditation techniques to awaken healing energies in the body and mind. Using Buddhist principles as a basis, Tulku Thondup has created a universal guide that anyone can use. It will benefit those who want to preserve good health as well as those who need comfort and relief from illness or mental distress. Boundless Healing offers:

> • Ways to employ the four healing powers: positive images, positive words, positive feelings, and positive belief
• Detailed healing exercises that can be done individually or as part of a twelve-stage program
• Exercises for dispelling anxiety
• Healing prayers for the dying and the deceased, plus advice for helpers and survivors

Ear pain is a very common symptom of joint or muscle problems near the ear (the TM joint); the fact that you also have some of this pain on jaw movement is very suspicious in that regard.

If this is bothering you or seems to be getting worse, you could see a TMJ specialist -- just keep in mind that it's likely to be expensive, and be very skeptical of anyone who wants to perform surgery, or even fit you for a bite splint, or grind your teeth down to change your bite, without trying less invasive things first.
