Get a normal carry on bag. Buy a portable charger that you can use wherever you want. The end.

I’m seeing the same bag for $55 from Amazon too.

If anyone needs a weekender bag, I can wholeheartedly recommend this one from Amazon as a great budget option. I got one for Christmas, and waxed it with otter wax, and then didn't use it until this past weekend. But it worked great for a few days worth of stuff and I was really impressed with the pockets. Only thing that would make it better would be a shoe compartment, but I'm fine without for this price. Oh, and a grey strap to match the grey canvas would have been nice as well. I just wanted to state this in case anyone is looking for a cheap weekend bag option.

Spent the weekend on the beaches of Lake Michigan and had a great time. The lake was choppy as hell so we didn't get to swim really, but we had a fun time nonetheless. It felt real nice to get away for a weekend.

I am using this bag from Amazon.

It just fits all of my gear and I strap the leg pads to the top/outside using the shoulder belt. The outside pockets are smaller than they look. I use them for little things like laces, tape, etc. I've never tried, which I just put in the main pocket. It also fits into my trunk, a Honda civic, and the leg pads I can also fit into my trunk separately.

But I will caution that it really just fits my gear (minus the leg pads). I had to experiment with how to pack the back to maximize the space, but for the price, I can't complain.

Edit: It is amazon, so you can always buy it, try packing your gear, and if it doesn't work for you, just return it.

I was SO tempted to buy this when I was at NY airport few years back, but after reading how easily it breaks, I decided to save my money!

u/loddist · 5 pointsr/onebag

Not sure how durable, but the brand seems alright. Good reviews online too. 35L, could fit in urban situations with a pop of colour. Semi suitcase opening. 50 USD.

Solo Everyday Max Hybrid: https://www.amazon.com/Solo-Everyday-Max-Hybrid-Backpack/dp/B01AC3ZXJW

Alternatively, you can go with the tried and true Osprey Porter 30L. 90 USD.

u/diverade · 4 pointsr/scuba

Yes, branded dive bags get more attention and are stolen more often depending where you dive to. My LDS actively discourages anyone from buying a special purpose dive bag.

I use the largest and cheapest duffel bag I could find (240lt) is completely black and I never had an issue with it. It's also rather light, some like this: https://www.amazon.com/Rockland-Luggage-Rolling-Duffle-X-Large/dp/B003EZXP5U/ but mine is simpler and looks even cheaper.

I always carry my regs and computer in the carry on. Never had issues by doing so and the airline doesn't look what you take on it. It's airport control who will notice and ask, but there is no regulation against regulators in the plane. I leave my mask in the dive bag though.

Because I'm a none wealthy college student:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004O2T3SK/ref=mw_dp_img_1?in=1&is=300&vs=1

It fits my needs, and I think it looks pretty good.

u/rawwwse · 4 pointsr/Harley

Yeah... There’s not much to it, but It works for me since I don’t like side-bags (there’s a small swingarm bag as well on the opposite side that you can’t see in this pic).

I bit the bullet and bought a detachable Harley sissy bar for the back, with an integrated luggage rack (you can see my jacket bundled up on it behind the duffel).

When I pack for more than a day I use that duffel bag with a medium/large spider bungee cord (also from HD), on top of the rear seat so it doesn’t rub on the paint. Packs enough for a long weekend easily, maybe a bit more than a week in the summer with lighter clothes.

Best part is, if you pack it correctly—with the soft stuff towards your back—it makes for a great backrest on long rides!

u/SpadeEpiphany · 4 pointsr/Triumph

The original post found here.
Original post's bag here.
The bag I used here here.

While I was looking for the least expensive version of this bag, I came across a different version of the bag that seemed to work better towards this purpose. The big difference being that the top strap on the bag I used comes off and doesn't have any brass buckling. It has 4 loops (two on the top and bottom) on the back of the bag, which made super quick work with 4 zip ties.

Also, the leg buckle it came with added perfect as a seat strap. Loving the look of having both of them on there.

u/flyzombiefly · 4 pointsr/KingstonOntario

Is owl a brand? You have it capitalized like it is. Or do you mean just general school supplies with pictures of owls on them?

I have no idea where to go if it's a brand, but Urban Outfitters downtown usually has some random owl-patterned things. Indigo was also good for those kind of things, but I think they're closed now, so maybe Chapters?

And for binders you can always get the ones with a translucent pocket over the cover that you can slip a sheet of paper into, and customize it with whatever pictures you want. That's what I did all through high school - much cheaper than buying new binders every year.

I also found this if you're not adverse to online shopping.

I'm a huge fan of the Ogio backpack. I have two. One I've had for almost two years (Like 1 year and 10 months), http://www.amazon.com/Renegade-Laptop-Tablet-Backpack-Black/dp/B0076D099Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1377711292&sr=8-3&keywords=ogio+laptop and it's still going strong. I use it for work, and for a large laptop i need to use for work. I have had another one for 7 years: http://www.amazon.com/OGIO-711105-Black-Metro-Streetpacks-Black/dp/B000NDQNNW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377711276&sr=8-1&keywords=ogio+metro and it still works great.

Of course, none of these work for a 5yo, they are way way too big. Might I suggest one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003HS5JMQ/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Got one for my 4 yo, and it works great for preschool, it's well made BUT, it might not be big enough for normal school. You have to fold a standard piece of paper.

My wife has a Jansport backpack she's used for like 20 years, and it's still being used. But I can't speak from personal experience. That might be the way to go as well.

u/DioTheory · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This backpack would make my life so much easier!! It's on my Practical list.

I currently have a messenger style backpack, but it only fits about 2 textbook-sized books at a time, and it's falling apart. I've had it for 3 years now. Also, my primary transportation to school will be a motorcycle, so the messenger bag really won't work at all for that.

I'm going to school at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and I'm majoring in Physics! I'm absolutely thrilled to be able to go here. Their science programs are all fantastic and I'm SO LUCKY! I have 2 more years left, so I should graduate right as my husband's military contract runs out.

Wish me luck! And thank you so much for the contest! <3

I don't live in a big city with lots of wind or anything, but I bought a few of these in 2015 and have been pretty happy with them. They're cheap enough to where even if they did break at this point I'd feel I got my money worth.

u/arhythm · 3 pointsr/onebag

For those who are interested in this bag, it's currently $55 on Amazon right now. Solo Everyday Max Backpack (ACV732-4) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AC3ZXJW/

I bought one myself and am undecided on keeping it as a first bag or getting an osprey Porter 30. I like the large pocket but would like some built in organization in a secondary pocket for small items like any camera, chargers, etc. There's the 2 side pockets that could maybe fit a water bottle if the bag isn't packed full and a pocket on front that could hold a wallet or phone, my Nexus 6P barely fit.

The shoe compartment on the bottom also takes a ton of room in the main section of the bag. Though I'd guess that's the same for any bag that has that.

For the size of it I also expected more space. There are some interior pockets in the main section but again, with clothes in the main section you won't be able to fit much.

u/ilikepai · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

My mother in law bought me a Windpro umbrella before I went to study abroad in England, and it held up pretty well to the English rain and wind! I think mine is this one. The vent thing sounds like a gimmick, but I guess it worked! I've also seen a lot of nicer umbrellas at Nordstrom Rack so you could check there for a discounted one

u/lcogan · 3 pointsr/churning

I have this one that I like. I love the shoe compartment.

u/sure_mate · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I have their canvas weekend bag. Quality seems decent for the price and I got loads of compliments on it. Was a great size for a long weekend to Germany recently and was small enough to fit in cabin storage.

u/sluttymcslutterton · 2 pointsr/Frugal

This is a bit of an investment at first, but Timbuk2 bags last at least 15 years (I know people who have had them for that long, my boyfriend has had his for 7, and I just got a new one. All in very good condition). A classic messenger can be $40, rainproof (which is mostly why I'm mentioning it), and last forever and a half. I would suggest a size "medium" if you're just carrying your laptop and other flat rectangular things like papers and notebooks. If you're also wanting to carry extra shoes or things like that you might want a large.

You'll also want fenders for sure.

I don't know anything about gears so I can't help you with that.

You should get a front light and a tail light. These are what I have, they're very small and simple and easy to take off. You can probably shop around and find something that suits you best, but in general Planet Bike is a very good brand.

That's exactly what I do! I bought these on amazon:

Ikea Travel Size Bottles 8 Pack, 4 colors, for cosmetic products https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DYEJCJO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_pQe5sYZY4RgyJ

I fill them with all of the products I need, label with a sharpie, and put them into a gallon ziplock. You could probably sterilize the inside of the bottles if you are concerned about that.

My routine is pretty complicated, and I use a ton of different products. I feel pretty high maintenance traveling with my fiancé who only brings one tiny bottle of face wash, but it works for me!

[This one](travelpro platinum magna 2 carry-on expandable rollaboard suiter suitcase, 22-in., black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X6JRSMK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Na.LDb2QDM2YE)

u/grammargorkha · 2 pointsr/onebag

I have this. I really like it esp the way it opens and the way it hangs but I’m finding it hard to reconcile with my onebag setup. The material is thick and imo it’s a bit bulky and heavy for its purpose.

You may wish to consider toiletry kits from Muji. I know I would if I hadn’t already bought the ikea one.

Also if you’re thinking about the Ikea travel bottles, they fit well in the bag but they’re also quite rigid and harder to squeeze than other bottles. On the plus side, they’re probably harder to break.

u/MrDerk · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

What kind of bag you'll feel comfortable with depends on your office.

Timbuk2 bags are damn near bulletproof it seems. I carry this one in black and grey. They have similar bags built with laptop compartments. It's definitely the "young guy" look, but it works in an office setting where you're not surrounded by leather briefcases.

If it works for you, shop around. You can do better than the prices on the official website.

Note: You're not required to wear it crazy high up like they show on the website. I've always found that awkward.

I'm lame and just have this in black. Goes with everything, for one, plus the auto open-close amuses me every time.

u/legacydeviant · 2 pointsr/SissificationAcademy

An old-briefcase will have a lock built-in. I use something similar to this. I just tell everyone it was a sentimental gift from a relative or friend. This especially works if you find an old briefcase at a garage sale or something.

Or you could buy a laptop bag and a luggage lock.

I think you're going to be hard pressed to find an actual suitcase that has a built-in lock that it not pretty expensive. Luggage locks usually do the trick anyway.

If you want to be even more clandestine, look up "diversion safes" on Amazon. They are typically not very big, but they can blend in with other things you may have already.

On a personal note: Geez, whatever happened to hiding things under a mattress like when I was a kid.

I've always been a fan of the M-51 Engineer's Field Bag, plenty of room to haul your gear. Be warned, though, there are many cheaply made clones of this bag. It's also larger than you may expect.

I have a LifeTek Automatic (Wind Resistant Frame). I fits in the door holder easily but honestly I usually just toss it onto the passenger side floor during the rainy season.

Very sturdy. Auto open and, more importantly, auto close.

Maybe like one of those luggage locks or something similar.

u/officeroffkilter · 1 pointr/diabetes

Hi, I think this is a really smart idea to get your child in the habit of being prepared and smart about their self-care.

One thing I use to save some room would be to something like this for finger sticks - and disposal is easier/ safer than with used lancets (I'm sure there are similar products, but I have liked this one. Having it has encouraged me to change cartridges much more - which is where all the lifetime supply of lancets remarks come from - diabetes seldom change the nasty end of those things, no matter their increased susceptibility to disease from infection, etc.):
https://www.accu-chek.com/lancing/fastclix-lancing-device

I also highly recommend something big enough to carry things like this to treat lows on the spot (the cylinder holds ~10 4gram tablets and is refillable from the larger container. It is handy enough to buy a few and keep one cylinder in the car, one in bedroom on night stand, one in pack, etc.):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017A3136E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8

The tabs I can't recommend enough. Low sugars that get low enough can cause brain damage and immediate treatment of lows is key. I carry a glucagon syringe with me, and roommates and office mates know what it is, where it is, and how to use it. There are new products emerging on the market that are much less invasive, and those are probably worth looking into (inhalers, etc.).

This year, I bit the bullet and got a letter carrier bag to contain all my diabetes "every day carry" equipment: regular meter, strips, finger stick device, glucagon kit, glucose tablets, spare pump battery, and glucose tabs:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IWKGOOA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8

If your child is small enough that the letter carrier is too big, consider a small laptop bag.

Last thing I would add is to highly consider getting a CGM so your child can learn to actively monitor sugars. Even without a pump, the CGM alerting during lows or highs can contribute tremendously to a much healthier, longer life. I waited some time before deciding on a pump because I thought that I needed to be hyper-regulated in order to use it effectively, but I found the opposite to be the case - better control of BG levels I think is demonstrated with pump use, and that means better control of long term symptoms. Ok - I didn't mean to hard sell you on things, just to identify some things that I wish a parent or competent adult had been there to advise me on.

Good luck on your journey.

I've been pretty happy with the Lifetek travel umbrella. Easily fits into bags as I usually keep mine in the water bottle pocket of a backpack. It's also stood up to some pretty crazy winds. They also have a 2 year warranty which they are good about honoring - I accidentally dropped the umbrella out of a third story window which cracked the handle (long story) and they replaced it, no questions asked.

u/Order_____66 · 1 pointr/volt

This umbrella fits perfectly in the Umbrella holder in the Driver and Front Passenger doors!

I've used this before and really liked it, https://www.amazon.com/Rothco-Canvas-M-51-Engineers-Field/dp/B004NRDD3W. The only problem is that the straps are attached to the flap, not the body of the bag. That puts a lot of stress on the front closure, which will eventually fail if you load the bag up.

First off you have my sympathies, for your loss. And some internet hugs! I've never lost anyone so I can't say I understand, but I know it hurts and im sorry.

I included a bunch of things to represent what I think people might have on their wishlists. If I win Sort My Priorities and surprise me!

Japanese Candy kit I'm sure snacks are a big hit on peoples WLs. I want one of these specifically for my son.

Backpack/rucksack Classes are starting back up for many including me so these might be in high demand soon.

New Shoes Again classes are starting soon, if not for parents maybe for their kids. OR maybe people need new shoes to prepare for a climate change. I live in Indiana and weather is insane, so I try to always have boots and flats.

Seeds I have a ton of seeds on my WLs. They are usually cheap, and they make my yard pretty!

Thanks so much for hosting, and good luck everyone. I wish your Debit card super speed on its journey to you!

I travel every other weekend, usually a two to three nights stay. Baring the obvious underwear and toiletries, I'd say I take:

  • One pair of jeans (plus the ones I will be wearing to travel in)
  • Couple of henley's/t-shirts (depending on time of the year)
  • A flannel shirt
  • OCBD (for going to dinner)
  • A knit jumper
  • Pair of casual shoes (New Balance or Converse, I'll most likely be wearing boots whilst I travel)
  • Laptop and chargers
  • GoPro and cable
  • Book
  • Diary
  • Potentially some workout gear

Accessories like belt, watch, etc will already be on me at the time, same as chukka boots. I like to travel as lightly as possible due to the fact I have to take a two trains, and the London Underground, at peak hours on a Friday evening. Getting through the crowds is tough enough, I don't want to be weighed down any more than I need to be.
If you're interested, this is the bag I use - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Herschel-Supply-Company-Duffel-Liters/dp/B0077CLCWO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487790968&sr=8-1&keywords=herschel%2Bnovel%2Bduffle%2Bbag&th=1

I didn't pay full price for it, I got it in a sale. I'd recommend it, solely on the fact it has a separate compartment for shoes. Although, I imagine many other bags have that function.
u/orijinal · 1 pointr/backpacks

Initially, I wanted to get an Aer Fit Pack 2, but I don't really have the cash to spend that much on a backpack at the moment. What attracted me to it was that it looked nice and had compartments that I was looking for; one to place my laptop and notebooks, another to place my clothes, and a third for my shoes.

After spending several hours on Amazon searching for a cheaper alternative, I ended up ordering a Solo Elite Backpack which should (hopefully) arrive some time tomorow. I'll let you know what I think of it once it arrives, but in the meantime, maybe this short video will help you determine if it's something you'd want to consider.

so about that...I didn't use locks for ages because the case was never really out of my sight. I haven't decided on which locks to go for as the recommend wire locks leave the issue where you can open the case an inch or two while it is locked. I haven't traveled with my camera in about 8 months via flying so I haven't worried too much about buying them.

Don't worry, it can be done! I recently spent 13 days away with just a carry-on. I used to be a pilot (non-airline) and my husband is an airline pilot so all my airline travel is done as a non-rev pass-rider, so I've gotten packing/traveling with just a carry-on down to a science.

The trick is to use a gallon bag. I've been doing this for years and the TSA has never cared at all that I use that size. I use travel size products, and these Ikea bottles off of Amazon for anything I need that's not sold in travel size bottles. And I use a travel size pack of cleansing towelettes instead of a liquid cleanser, that's one less liquid I have to fit into the gallon bag. I'm able to take about 8-9 different liquid products with me and I've never run out of anything, even on my recent 13-day-long trip. Have fun on your vacation!!

1.) I got mine from Amazon here's a link

2.) It cost only $25.99 with amazon prime.

3.)I really can't say from personal experience because I just got it for school which starts in a few days. But the reviews from Amazon are all positive.

4.) Dimensions: 15" x 11" x 6" (Inches)

Now that is making a statement! And you too can order one right here! All the offices around me are only one story unless I go across the street.

We took a couple of WDW trips last year. The first one we started with a backpack. It was definitely doable, but kind of a pain. We quickly figured out that traveling lighter was better. This messenger bag with this strap pad wound up being perfect! Big enough to carry plenty of snacks and camera/phone batteries etc, but small and light enough to not be too cumbersome.

Bonus Tip: These water bottles combined with some super cheap D-rings from Harbor Freight worked great for us.

Messenger bags are the way to go if you plan to spend any time in the dealers' hall. Way easier to manoeuvre through the crowds and much friendlier for those around you. I use the one I got Kickstarting D-Day Dice years ago.

If you want a cheap canvas bag, I've been using this bag for years with no sign of wear. It's just a plain canvas bag, not many pockets. But I use it for everything. This bag can take a LOT of abuse. I've never been careful with it, and it still doesn't have any issues.

I know you said leather bag, but this canvas one is amazing for the cost. So anyone else looking for a cheaper messenger bag that will last a very long time, this one has my recommendation.

For jackets, H&M has pretty reasonable prices. Target also has some decent options if you're not too skinny.

For a messenger bag, I kind of like these.

Also, it might help to give more specific prices next time. "I'd like a messenger bag under $50" is specific, but "college student budget" varies widely. I mean, I'm sure there are some Google college interns reading this right now making $8000/month at their summer internships.

Yeah bro,
I bought it this was around 15 dollars. I call it "the little bitch man purse bag" for when I wanna look stylish but not carry the arsenal. It fits my 2 commander decks and 2 modern decks with plenty of space for dice and my portable battery pack. I have asked several people I looked up to in the magic community and they said "it's not gay you're ok" so i have to say it was a good buy and my go to for events when I don't wanna shovel around my trade stuff.

Number 2 we got the 40 liter pound town run around. This bitch fits everything, she can't go without a day without my stuffin shit in her. She also doubles as my carry on for flights and trips that last around 3-4 days. So long as your deck boxes are certin to not open just about anything works for transporting them. You could literally carry your cards in a fucking pillow case so long as your deck boxes are contained. But I bought 40 liter pound town run around because she can double as a backpack or side messenger bag if need be. It has a million little zippers and shit and straps and padding. Blows anything in the video out of water.

Now you can go down to a 21 liter or even a 35 liter and you'll honestly be just fine. Theres no need to dump 100 bucks on little dividers in a bag. In fact for 100 bucks im sure you'd figure out how to just sew a bag at that point.
