Too bad it was clearly advertised as compatible with HOTAS.

I would totally understand your point if they didn't sell a fucking OFFICIAL thing for the game and then they don't support it.

https://www.amazon.com/Combat-Hotas-Flight-Stick-PlayStation-4/dp/B01A0P8NBC

Also, project ace themselves literally just wrote that they're looking into the issue and it is indeed a bug.

Then why is this a thing? Yes, ace combat really isnt a HOTAS game but that doesn't change that it's possible to use one, in theory at least.

The top ends are the ones you've listed. And youre actually in luck, amazon is having a sale on gaming headsets. Here's the link for the A50's: http://www.amazon.com/ASTRO-Gaming-A50-Xbox-One-Black/dp/B00NY5ZPF8/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1451073079&sr=1-3&keywords=A50

What budget are you looking at?

If you're cheap Refurbished Logitech G230 I used a set of these and was pretty happy with them aside from the clamping pressure on the head. Mic was decent and cord was very long.

Next I'd say the HyperX cloud Stinger which usually is in the $50-$65 range.

A little bit more money gets the Corsair HS50 These are pretty good and don't scream GAMER

A little bit better, the HyperX cloud cores are no longer quite the "budget" option they were a few years back, sadly the price has gone up, they're still decent.

You can also find the HyperX Cloud IIs on sale for around $95-$99 which come with some extras. Sadly they're not on sale right now and I can't recommend them at current prices.

Over $100 The Sennheiser GSP 302 are good (I'm using them right now), mic is great, decently comfy, and sound decent. I believe they are based of the old HD558 drivers but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Anything higher than these I'd go with standalone headphones and a dedicated microphone, but I don't really have any experiance with those so someone else should chime in.

Newer, smaller one: https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Adapter-Windows-Packaging/dp/B0785SFKYF/

Older, larger one: https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Adapter-Windows-10/dp/B0785RHK5Q

I'm just basing this on the pictures shown on each product page. The older one is that big black rectangle with the USB connector sticking out of it, the newer one is, well, still a black rectangle, but it's smaller and the body is similar in size to the USB connector.

Looks like a bunch of orders for the new one on Amazon got mixed in with old ones, so I would just walk in to a Best Buy if you have one nearby and just buy one there so that you don't have to deal with any headache of wondering if you'll get the right one from Amazon. The retail packaging for the newer one comes in a small, primarily white box, whereas the old one is in a larger, totally green box.

This exact dongle works perfectly with my Galaxy S8. I can mirror it to a television and use a USB / Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to navigate the phone.

Should solve your problem, good luck!

[Here you go!] (https://www.amazon.com/DualShock-Wireless-Controller-PlayStation-Chameleon/dp/B075XS65T9) it's on the pricey side, but in my country considering the shipping cost and everything, it's similar to the price range of plain ones

(Not sure if this works with Linux, but it works on my Mac and Windows computer)
I got the Mamamiya 3200 DPI Gaming Mouse for $14 (£12.55) on Amazon, and I love this mouse! The ergonomics is great, it has adjustable DPI settings, and it has two buttons that you can program, not to mention that it's super cheap! I've had this mouse for about a year now and the only problem that I've had with it is that sometimes one of the lights inside stays red, but that's no biggie.
It's not available right now on amazon, but here's the link!

u/Omg_Seph · 2 pointsr/emulation

I've been thinking about this question for quite some time and have come to the realisation that there is no 'perfect' emulation station. What I've identified is a spectrum where you are trading off portability/convenience for power, and your personal preference will dictate which device is best for you. I'll list pros and cons here on what I think the spectrum looks like from 'Most Power and Least Portability' to 'Most Portability and Least Power':

  • Gaming PC
Pros: Can emulate anything at high quality. Can take any controller. Big display. Access to Steam
Cons: Not portable at all. Expensive
  • Gaming Laptop
Pros: Can emulate most things at high quality. Is portable. Big display. Long(ish) battery life. Can take any controller. Access to Steam
Cons: Bulky to carry and use (if on the go). Heats up significantly. Expensive.
  • 2-in-1 hybrid Laptop / Tablet (Like the Surface Pro)
Pros: Less bulky than a laptop. Small enough to use a controller that wraps around the device (makes gaming on the go better). Can take any controller. Good display size. Access to Steam
Cons: Expensive. Still a large device you will need to carry around. Not quite powerful enough to run the latest gen of emulation really well.
  • Tablet
Pros: Good display size. Less bulky than a laptop. Small enough to use a controller that wraps around the device. Cheap.
Cons: No access to Steam. Cannot emulate much above PS1 (some of the better tablets might be able to). Cannot take USB controllers easily (need adapters). Not all emulators / cores actively developed on iOS / Android
  • Smart Phone
Pros: Extremely portable. You are going to have a phone with you anyway. Not as expensive as the above
Cons: Cannot emulate much above PS1 (Although the very latest smart phones might be able to). Not all emulators / cores actively developed on iOS / Android (you'll be dealing with bugs for longer). Cannot take USB controller. Small display.

Personally I value convenience above all else and have gone with emulation on my smart phone. The controller issue I solved with this which unfortunately blocks the headphone jack, so I got Bluetooth headphones. This means I have some audio lag which isn't great, but I have no controller lag. Most of the games I care about playing are N64 / PS1 / PSP so I have no issues with needing more powerful hardware... although I am thinking about upgrading to something like an S8 so I could play Dolphin games.

I think a 2-in-1 is as close as you can come to a 'perfect' game station. You have the required hardware for on-the-go gaming, it's not too bulky to carry around (unlike fully fledged gaming laptop) and when you want to do some sit-down hardcore gaming (Steam) you can plug it into an external GPU. I haven't committed to this idea yet since I have a decent gaming PC, and my phone is holding down all my emulation needs at the moment. But this seems like the best of both worlds.

Wow looks like the exact same one I bought with the exact same games. Must say though, you gotta get the watermelon controllers and

I bought this xbox one controller from hori and it works perfect for 90 % of games I play. Just doesn't have analog triggers so you can't play driving games with it. Unfortunately looks like its out of stock at the moment.

I was under the impression that it did work already (don't have one to test though).

Still waiting for TH8A support here (for PC).

u/MazenFire2099 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have one of these and i use them for my PC, switch and PS4. They’re a bit expensive but they’re REALLY damn good. If that’s out of your price range, my little brother uses these. He says they’re pretty good, and they’re 40 bucks. You also have the way overpriced but optional stand for an extra 60 bucks.

u/Kyle_Necrowolf · 1 pointr/xboxone

Here is the new adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0785RHK5Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1527220329&sr=8-14&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=xbox+wireless+adapter

And here is a bundle that includes the new controller and MAY include the new adapter (pics show both): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B078T3R8YS/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1527220329&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=xbox+wireless+adapter&dpPl=1&dpID=41RYx-4dTaL&ref=plSrch

Both controllers work with the Xbox wireless adapter or USB - this form of wireless is what's used in Xbox consoles, supports all the features (unlike Bluetooth, as I mentioned above), and is far more reliable IMO.

You do also have the option of purchasing a Bluetooth adapter for your PC, they're about the same price as this adapter, but if you're getting it purely for the controller, I would definitely go with the Xbox wireless adapter for the reasons I mentioned.

Yeah the fusion pro doesn't seem to be very good based on what I read.

This Horipad pro seems like the budget version of the elite. Looks a little cheap and plasticy but the reviews are decent. I need to do a little more research.

Deciding whether I should just shell out $100 for the razer wildcat, the elite seems amazing but out of my price range and I heard some bad things about it breaking and only having a 90 day warranty. Tough choices..

The good part is the dpad is the same. But you still have a RS for towers. And you can still use it for other games.

got a 4 gc controller + adapter + extension chords, all for $55 lol. They work great too, not like top-level competitive viable probably but i pull off some frame tight combos with em no issues, and can now play smash / mk with big groups of friends without having to spend a fortune on controllers.
