I absolutely hate the shitty bags all games come with. I open every game box and immediately throw them in the recycling bin. I applaud them when they at least make it easy for me by surrounding them all in one bag.
The seal on them is usually shit. The components push through too easily, they offer no component protection or protection from components. The sizes are all over the place, typically you get a handful of same size bags for a varying number of components, and usually not able to split them up in a way that will make sense.
The answer is 4 mil Plymor baggies. Best fucking things ever. They're thick, sturdy, clear, and seal well. Every game I have now has them in the 3 sizes I bought. It's nice and consistent and you don't have to worry about having enough. You have hundreds.
The 3 sizes I found that work well for 99% of games I have (if memory serves I think my TI4 tiles are in 2 Ziplock quart bags) are:
3"x4" Great for little bits, dice, cubes, wheat, tiles, currency, even a few whole ass regular sized cards cards (great for separating replaced cards (Xia, Vast) or games with very few cards). Buy a million of these.
4"x6" Great for "player packs" (all bits, tiles, dice, meeple for 1 player), large sets of tiles, or lots of cards. MiniUSA/Euro size stack up in them (Gloomhaven, TI4 = only 2 bags each for all the cards, sleeved).
5"x8" Great for large tiles and component heavy player pieces (TI4). Or for laying out cards in side by side stacks (even Euro/"MTG" size) so you can still close the fucking box (looking at you, Agricola, AFfO) and not have cards fly everywhere. Buy quite a few of these. 100 bags will last forever.
*edit* had my 5x8 description in the wrong place.
I bought these, and I gave a bunch to others in our group.

Amazon!
Poly Bags with Suffocation... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8IWYAM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
For cheap nonperishable goods it's hard to beat Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Roll-Bags-HDPE-Produce/dp/B01HDY34OY?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_5
Sometimes dollar stores have good deals, but you can't rely on them stocking exactly what you need when you need it.
Use zipper bags instead

Hanging Wa rdrobe box - you can paint/color/wrapping paper it to be re-purposed for long term use - but cheaper than a full size wardrobe cabinet - I used the former when I was in a studio and poor as fuck, and the latter for my daughters room lol
Does anyone have recommendations for a cheaper option for [these] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SI7HBTU/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3R5B0NCMQ6TC8) clear self sealing poly bags in size 11x14 and 9x12? They don't have to be Uline but decent enough quality. If I ordered directly from Uline I would save some money in the long run but I would have to order 1000 of each at a time. I'm hoping to buy <500 at a time, preferably 200-300.
I typically buy packaging on Amazon. Although I ship in bubble mailers or poly mailers, not boxes. Here's a link for the quantity you need.
https://smile.amazon.com/BOX-USA-B1082-Corrugated-Boxes/dp/B01BGFU3YK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=10x8x2+shipping+box&qid=1550330983&s=gateway&sr=8-1
For actual boxes, if you don't mind reusing, I would ask grocery stores and liquor stores. Most liquor stores near me have empty boxes in the front of the store for anyone who needs them. In addition, you could ask on Craigslist, neighborhood FB groups, etc for people to save their old boxes (ie AMazon boxes) and reuse them.
I am surprised I had to read this far down to see this. You can get 500 heavy-duty 4x6 zip lock bags from Amazon for $20 (You can get smaller quantities also). If you want something a bit bigger, you can get 100 6x9" bags for $12.94. That should be a lifetime supply for this and plenty of other tasks (they can also be used for food storage).
Start sorting them into bags, then either just store the bags in the bins you already have, or from there you will have a better sense what will work best for you.

I just got these. I changed my usual order because of the "back flap lock", which I am liking! Now instead of folding over the plastic bag and taping it closed, the little fold over is very neat and I just slap a sticker on it.
However, I wish I had gone up a size in the bags. It makes a real difference when you are not wrestling to get something into the plastic bag. And I highly highly recommend that you do not SEAL the bag while storing. Like we've talked about in here, fabric will grow its own odor while sitting in airless spaces. Congrats on the new roommate! My little nuisance isn't allowed in the room with the clothes and she stalks me all day begging for carrots (I know....carrots) and she tries to kill me on every staircase but I love that spoiled little freeloader more than my family!

Do you now want to use something similiar to this for environmental reasons or because of cost?
You can print and cut the labels as desired then use clear 651 or higher rated adhesive vinyl as a top coat for it. When I did it I would just cut the outline shape slightly larger and center it over the printed label so the printed label was covered completely and there was an outline where the clear part directly touched the packaging.
You can also buy special materials to make waterproof labels. Avery has a line called chemical labels for laser printers that work well but the cost adds up very quickly.
You can get 25 of the same size boxes for cheaper than this one box here. I just don't see the product as a storage solution but if you like it, by all means.
