This is something very near and dear to my heart as both I and my oldest nephew have food allergies. There are tons of fun, non-food items you can hand out to trick or treaters that they will love. • Glow sticks. You can get a bunch of glow sticks and glow in the dark stuff. Oriental Trading Company has a nice, inexpensive selection. There are even alien antenna glow in the dark head things.
  
• Get blue light bulbs and silver fabric or tablecloths. Put the tablecloths over all the tables and surfaces. With the blue lights, and silvery surfaces, you'll have a fun space-shippy feel.
  
• All parties need balloons!
