The Door at the end of the game, after you beat Ansem, was not Kingdom Hearts. It was the Door to Darkness. Only beings of darkness can pass through it, and it led to the Realm of Darkness, thus the heartless. Riku and King Mickey are beings of light, so they can't pass through. Kingdom Hearts was inside the door, but it was a fake Kingdom Hearts created by the worlds lost to darkness. It dissipated into light after you defeated Ansem.

Sora chose not to go with Kairi because he wanted to search for Riku. The mural has no significance other than to hide the Navi-G piece inside. Kiari's heart went inside Sora's in this scene (When Destiny Islands fell to the darkness)

I recommend you play Chain of Memories before KH2, or at least watch the cutscenes.

The top seeded San Andreas torrents on both TPB and Demonoid are NTSC.

If you can't figure it out yourself you can buy a copy for $7 with free Amazon Prime shipping.

You can get them really cheap if you look around for one.

Wow... Thats freaking insane.

If that PS2 turns on, you can play DMC3 for $28 + tax and shipping.

8MB PS2 memory card - $16 new, $11 used

Devil May Cry 3 - $18 new, $6 used

PS2 controller - $55 new, $11 used

But yes, it's theoretically possible for DMC3 to come to PS2 on PS4. But these games come out very rarely, so I wouldn't hold my breath over that.

u/bingcognito · 3 pointsr/Games

I use one of these and a Playstation DualShock. It's pretty dang comfortable.

edit: that new Dreamcast pad does look pretty sweet though

u/TempusCavus · 3 pointsr/dreamcast

This one will work for ps1/ps2 controllers: https://www.amazon.com/Total-Control-Plus-Dreamcast-PSX-PS/dp/B008ELD23O

That adapter exists because of the bleemcast emulator that allowed a few ps1 games to be played on the Dreamcast.

As far as I know you would need to mod your dreamcast or cobble together some kind of adapter for anything else.

Has anyone figured out exactly why it is the year 2013, and an 8MB memory card costs $12.50 in AMERICAN currency?

u/BimmerAddict · 2 pointsr/gaming

Yes sir! . The ones there are vastly overpriced though. This game still remains my favorite RPG I have ever played on consoles.

u/MoaninIwatodai · 2 pointsr/vita

from what I remember, the only big differences were in who the people in the social links were/how they treated you. P3P is pretty much FES just without the answer and story wise you're fine, I'd just save the MC only playthrough for someday when you get a hankering for some persona 3.

On a fan-to-fan level though, you should definitely check out Raidou Kuzunoha because it's at $25 down from a whopping $145 since the last time I checked. It's pretty fucking fun

or nocturne if you want a more traditional RPG

u/fuzeebear · 2 pointsr/Fighters

Wow, this is coincidental. Just 20 minutes ago I was playing USF4 with one of my PS2 fightpads.

This one: http://www.amazon.com/Street-Fighter-Anniversary-Controller-Playstation-2/dp/B00062W2GW

I have two versions of the MadCatz fightpads (full-sized and SD) as well as a Hori Fighting Commander 5. When I play with a pad, I still go back to the old PS2 version. The dpad is very good (better than the Hori and Madcatz). Plus it's got a mega super awesome futuristic hologram.

Cons: honestly the shape is not quite as good as the original madcatz for large hands. Almost as good though. And the select button is too close to the other buttons, so I just removed it.

u/Shady_Bloke · 2 pointsr/gaming

I've used a device similar to that made by Pelican (no longer made, sadly) to use a PS2 controller on my GameCube, and by extension my Wii. It worked out really well for me, especially since almost every decent Mad Catz or other big-name third-party controller was available for PS2. My personal favorite was the Mad Catz Retrocon which I used until it completely failed.

One odd thing I noticed though: apparently the GameCube and the PS2 have different standards when it comes to the "dead zone" in the center of the control stick. My Retrocon apparently leaned a bit to the left at default position when plugged into my GC, but not in my PS2. I also noticed this using a PS2->USB adapter. It didn't prevent me from playing, but it made some things a little weird at times.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was wrong! It wasn't Pelican brand: they actually make some original XBox controllers I bought that, smartly, put the white and black buttons on the top instead of awkwardly to the bottom right of the normal button layout. But I digress.

The adapter is made by Gemini, and is still available on Amazon! It works for both XBox and GameCube, and works well. Surprisingly cheap, too.

Get this and a USB drive 2GB or under. I'd recommend a 512 mb one to be safe. There are versions that come with a specialized USB drive but any USB stick below a certain size will work with the save manager.

After that you'll have to find .max format FPWR saves. Pretty simple from there.

I recently had some experience dealing with the same adapter you're talking about. I didn't need to install xpadder or any drivers to get it to work, but mine had the axis problem where you couldn't press opposite directions simultaneously (later models could fix this by pressing start+select+up for 3 seconds).

My recommendation is to uninstall xpadder and see if you can get it to work without it. If the adapter came with drivers maybe try those but I wouldn't have too much faith in them. If that fails, get a better adapter. Currently using this, works great with one pad, haven't tried with two, you may need a different adapter for two as this one is designed to use a light gun on the second port. You will need to install the drivers from the website, they're old, but they still work. Also, a whole list of recommended adapters is here

The power cord from an original Playstation would probably fit that.

u/ZetaStriker · 2 pointsr/tales

Kind of. Not as-is, but there's a pretty cheap thing called Swap Magic that allows it. It's basically a disc the PS2 loads that helps it bypass region locks, the only trick is you need to remove a screw from the disc tray and use what's called a "slide tool" to manually open the disc tray while the swap magic disc is in there. It sounds more complicated than it is, it's pretty easy, and it in no way alters or modifies your PS2 aside from removing that screw.

Here's an amazon link to what I'm talking about, for reference:

https://www.amazon.com/Swap-Magic-Coder-2-Disc-Slide/dp/B001BZCECU

I will note that I don't believe this works on slim PS2s, so you may want to double check the list of compatible model numbers and compare it to your PS2 if you have one.

Lets you hook up to 4 controllers to 1 USB port, with pressure sensitivity and rumble. I'll see if I can find the driver page for it later.

The big trouble with PS2 users wasn't the population in North America, since the HDD was only in production and distribution for our region for 9 months. It's that it's a very popular platform in Japan, from a time when many people didn't own their own computers. Mobile platforms have been much more popular in Japan than PCs for gaming.

u/HankHillPropaniac · 1 pointr/ps2

The only issue is space. You can get a 160gb ide HDD for $17 while a 64gb sd card costs $20. I'm wondering if FMBC can be installed on the ps2 HDD via a thumb drive. Also Will FMBC work if I have this installed?

I looked up stuff for alternatives to the original Dreamcast Controller and found a PS2 to DC adapter https://www.amazon.com/Total-Control-Plus-Dreamcast-adapter-PC/dp/B008ELD23O

u/aoisenshi · 1 pointr/truegaming

I realized this is actually a problem with the specific PS1 to USB adapter that I have. It's incapable of delivering both arrows (right & left) at once, and the method I had of mapping 126, 128 to push both arrows won't work since joy2key can't map raw data.

The solution, in case anyone else has this problem, is to just buy a different adapter. I found a list here, and this is the one I bought.

I'm thinking of getting this one since the reviews are good. Do you know if there's an easy way to tell if it's actually 128MB or it just uses compression? Apparently compression is what causes data corruption in a lot of the third party memory cards.

Yakuza 2. The first game was a good foundation that felt lacking, but the second fixed the issues and included a nice 1970s-style crime movie storyline. The voices in the second are also in Japanese instead of English, and the voice acting is good, unlike the cringe-worthy VO in the first.

It only got a print run of about 20k in the US, so good luck finding a copy. The game is almost two years old, and still sells new for $45.

Most Dreamcast games are comprable to the PS2 counterparts. Some say the DC's graphics capabilities are better than the PS2's due to their graphics engine being more efficient.

The biggest problem with Street Fighter games on Dreamcast is lack of good controllers, IMO. At least with PS2 you can get good ones like these: http://www.amazon.com/Official-Fighter-Anniversary-Controller-Playstation-2/dp/B00062W2GW

As someone who beat it 3 times over on both the PS2 and the Wii, the Wii version is a lot better in my opinion.

My reason? The drawing mechanic in the game is better suited for the Wii controller, which makes the game much more fast paced and the battles are a lot more fun. Instead of having to draw a shape slowly with the analog stick. Don't get me wrong, it was still fun on the PS2, but I still hold a preference to the Wii version after playing both. But if you can use the motion on the PS3 it would be worth it to get that.

I just took a quick look online if that is any help PS2, Wii, can't find the PS3 version. The Wii version is cheaper though.

  1. I'd love to have The Evil Within for X-Box. The used copies run for about $16.00. I'm playing one called The Town of Light right now and I realized I loved scary, unnerving things. I'm going to be depressed when I'm finished with the game, but I want something that will ease this post-game depression. I've heard from other people that The Evil Within is scarier than the Town of Light and way more suspenseful. The Town of Light is a kiddie game in comparison and I am ready for some real thrills.

  2. My all time favorite game is Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. It's the first "real" game I got into growing up and my mom would never let me personally own it, so I'd play it at my cousin's house. There was always something stress relieving about gunning down people and picking up prostitutes.
u/X-the-Komujin · 1 pointr/armoredcore

Does it look like this? Does it have an ethernet port in the back? If so, it's a slim. However, I think some newer models may not support FMCB. You can just pirate the Nexus copy, I don't think anyone realistically cares. With that being said, once you get back to your PS2, if you will any time soon, then I can tell you how to get FMCB and the like.

You may want two memory cards for this, though. Or one large memory card. FMCB installs on your memory card and it's a huge file in comparison to most standard memory cards.

With that being said, it may be a pain to set up, but every single Armored Core game in Gens 1-3 other than Formula Front is supported flawlessly (as far as I've seen) via OPL (Open PS2 Loader) and POPSTARTER. Loading times might be a bit shorter or longer, but I've never had any sort of jarring gameplay issues that may be present on emulator.

If you're wondering any of the costs:

  1. If you need memory cards: Link - $13

  2. Cheap USB Thumb Drive Link - $5

  3. Swap Magic: Link $25

If you already have a cheap thumb drive lying around as well as spare memory cards, you only need to pay 25 bucks. You can use this to get cfw on your PS2 and then you can use a SAMBA connection to play your PS2 games. You can trust me on this as I'm not only a moderator of this subreddit, but also a moderator of /r/PS2, /r/PS3Hacks, /r/PS3Homebrew, /r/PS4Homebrew, and the PlayStation Homebrew discord server. I'm open and willing to help anyone on this.
u/Alseho · 1 pointr/Gamecube

It really depends, do you know what brand and have looked up info about using ps1 controllers with the adapter? I know there are some other adapters like this one that state that it does support ps1 and ps2 controllers, but from the looks of it, it seems that this is the adapter you linked and someone did ask the same question about using a ps1 controller, albeit he asked about the steering wheel, but I'm pretty sure it would work. You could always return the adapter and buy a different one that supports ps1 if it doesn't.

I worked for EB games around 12 years ago or so. I don't remember the exact year but it was just before they were bought/merged with Gamestop.

That was 5'ish years after PS2 launched and new cards weren't 29 bucks then.

However, something I find strange is that those same cards as pictured in the op are 35bucks on amazon prime.

Maybe there's something special about them?

u/skulblaka · 1 pointr/funny

A new copy on Amazon runs about $70 USD, but you can get a used one for around $30. Thing is though, the way the game was made (specifically, the use of the Snowblind Engine) makes it almost impossible to run on an emulator. Therefore, anyone that wants to play it at all is forced to obtain a physical copy, with little to no other alternatives short of hard-modding your PS2, which has kept the price relatively high over the years. This ten-year-old game is as expensive (or more so!) than many brand-new titles.

The point of the N64 C-buttons was to provide more directional or camera inputs. For most games that aren't Mortal Kombat Trilogy, mapping the C-buttons to the right analog stick X and Y is more than sufficient.

u/-Rhombus- · 1 pointr/SF4

I'm not a pad player but I recently have been trying to play Sonic 3 on steam and no xbox/PS controller had the D-pad response I wanted. I found one of these in my closet. The D-pad on this (personally) outshines any of the other pads i've played on. They're comfortable, the pad is amazing and its got a 6 button layout. They come in a variety of colors/characters. Part 2 of this--its a PS2 pad. Not really helpful on current console without an adapter. I picked up a few different ones from amazon and, since I'm a tad OCD about the lag, did a quick in game test. This one from may flash was leaps and bounds better than anything else and worked flawlessly for Sonic and my side scrollers, and i went into the lab to test some combos in USF4 to make sure it was the real deal. Not bad for about $30 total spent.

Runner up to me, would be the Mad Catz SFxT pads. They're pretty solid, but the d-pad itself feels a little too squishy to me. It just doesn't return to neutral fast enough, but a solid choice.

On a side note: sanwa is apparently making a pad that will be coming out with the bundle of Guilty Gear later this year. Maybe someone will want to sell just the controller? Thats a stretch though.

Is there any chance one of you can post a picture with the connection of the power cable to the brick? (or the brick itself). I live in the UK and the US plug won't be very useful, so I was wondering what alternatives to a basic adaptor I could use.

I have a netbook that has a two-socket connection to the brick. I wonder if that would do the trick...

Now that I think about it, would there be any voltage issues in general? Never really occurred to me...

Edit: After doing some further research, I should be fine (although a picture of the brick label would be cool).

So, main question: What input does the brick have? Is it something like this?
