I found this useful. And it's not an electronic device.

I recommend magnetic letters like these for the fridge.

Books are also great. Read as much as possible. I ordered [Curious George Learns the Alphabet] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0544105230/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493249665&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=curious+george+learns+the+alphabet&dpPl=1&dpID=51TdcM5l1EL&ref=plSrch) and thought it was pretty nice. There are laminated flashcards and it even has a little storage space in the book.

You should pick one of these so no-one on /r/globaloffensive/new needs to read your thoughts.

u/Purgai · 7 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

A lot of the problems with this subreddit would be fixed if if everyone just picked up and used one of these. Not to mention it's a best seller as well so it must be good.

LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLHVX36/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.BDKAbWFQ3CPQ

There are a few of these leapfrog sets of magnets. You put this "reader" on the fridge too and the kids and put a letter in the leader and press the letter and the reader will say something to reinforce the letter to the kid. It basically turns your fridge into a learning toy. Good stuff. The sound the reader makes will get repetitive quick.

u/Danger-Moose · 3 pointsr/himynameisjay

Surprisingly, our kid really likes this and this which are both educational. He also enjoys flashcards and doing "circle time"... Watercolors are fun, and easy enough to clean up after.

Yay! Happy birthday! :D How about these? I think they're adorable! I bought them (or at least some that were similar) once for my old best friend because she loved Hello Kitty!

u/Lyd_Euh · 2 pointsr/randomactsofamazon

I think that this is pretty fun. You put them on your fridge and make fun sentences. Fun for the whoooole family haha

I would definitely go with, like the other commenters have said, a functioning sonic screwdriver. But you might also consider, his journal

u/Natalia_Bandita · 2 pointsr/doctorwho

I just ordered this last night. I hope its worth it!

My daughter will be 3 in a couple days and she has piles of toys because she's the first (and formerly the only) grandchild on both sides of our family so they piled on the toys. The thing she plays with the most is a magnetic drawing board. I used to be quite the artist, so she'll ask me to draw things on it for her like Peppa or Duggee or Baby Shark. Or sometimes I'll draw on it and just leave it out there for her to find on her own time. https://www.amazon.com/Chuchik-Magnetic-Drawing-Toddlers-magnadoodle/dp/B07GGRKYMV

If you're looking for something more action figure-like, she also loves PJ Masks and has little figures of them that she carries everywhere.

Depending on price and available space, we got her this indoor trampoline with a bar she can hold on to so she doesn't fall and holy crap that was the best purchase ever, she jumps on it while watching TV or uses it as a little table when she's sitting down eating or playing with other stuff (her decision, not ours - she definitely has a real table to eat at). Something like this, but not this model.. I have no idea what brand ours is. https://www.amazon.com/Little-Tikes-Trampoline-Amazon-Exclusive/dp/B00AU0O7QI/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=indoor+trampoline+toddler&qid=1568402032&s=toys-and-games&sr=1-4

I’m curious to know which type of magnetic letter it was. There are the typical plastic ones with the tiny magnets on the back, and there are wooden laminated letters that are all magnetized on the back like these ones. https://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Wooden-Alphabet-Magnets/dp/B000IBPD76

Here's what I'm carrying today: imgur.com

  • Leather card wallet
  • Unbranded Pocket Journal (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B016LB2Y14)
  • Skilcraft U.S. Government Pen
  • Unbranded Pocket Notebook (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZGE1914)
  • Keys for 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • iPhone 5S (not shown)

Full disclosure: the notebook and journal were designed and are sold by my business partner and myself. We created them because we wanted plain, unbranded notebooks and journals we could use and we couldn't find anything that didn't have crap printed all over them.
u/Aspiring_Righter · 1 pointr/Swimming

It sounds like your main concern is that you are printing on paper for a single use and it gets tossed?

Good question, since that's what I do as well. I am a coach, so print out a copy of the workout for each lane, and it gets stuck to a kickboard as you describe.

So you got me to thinking, and I did a little searching. It looks like there are some companies that make smaller 'lap sized' dry erase boards.

example at amazon, a set of 10 dimensions 12"x9"

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011N66UOO/ref=s9_acsd_zgift_hd_bw_b4UAy_c_x_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-10&pf_rd_r=RKJM65H060GB6TBBTGEC&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=ede7488f-d423-5807-a0bd-ef8f92a7c1f7&pf_rd_i=1069312

Maybe somebody sells individual. I'd check Staples as well.

Write out the workout in dry erase marker and maybe pop one of those in a ziploc, prop it up on the deck somehow.

I also thought of a tablet - I have an iPad, for example, but it seems risky to put that so close to the water. I use a tablet for coaching, and am fine walking on deck with it, but would be nervous leaving it unattended and so close to the edge, even in a ziploc.

A cheaper electronic option could be a child's doodle toy. eg: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00N9WIB8E/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_b7MGky3_c_x_w?pf_rd_m=A1IM4EOPHS76S7&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-10&pf_rd_r=E4R7FGFXB3DY38EFTGR4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=b54ca7e4-f0fa-5aa8-9cf2-6e989ebe8ac7&pf_rd_i=6742003011

Hi :)

I have a couple friends that work at DOE. One has various toys and games all over his desk.

When I worked in a cube farm, I knew if I was bored then everyone around me was bored too.

One day I pushed my tall filing cabinet to the edge of my cube. Kept nerf guns, candy, various toys, etch a sketch, etc. Every day there would be new messages on the etch a sketch, toys moved into silly positions, mini nerf games etc. By doing this made things less stressful for my coworkers and myself. As luck would have it, everyone else did they same with their cube.

Etch-a-Sketch

Thought this would be awesome to have in an office environment. Display all the current cool toys.

Start a Funko Pop collection. Would totally suggest these. :)
Bunch of friends collect these and display them at work.

Hope this helps, and work becomes less stressful for him. Thank you for being such a thoughtful person. hugs

The best thing you can do is work with her yourself. Point out everyday items like a ball, "Look at the ball. Ball starts with a b. B says 'buh,' can you say 'buh?'"

Leapfrog also makes a phonics toy that my guy loved when he was learning.

u/sowkr · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Naughty Naughty.

Because who doesn't love just being racy just because! I mean i was talking to /u/mewfasa for a second and it got pretty racy ;) included duct tape and all.

I also love being sarcastic all the time.

Please surprise me?

u/Aloof_pooch · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

happy panda!

Cheer up, buttercup! :)

[alphabet maagnets](http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Magnetic-Wooden-Alphabet/dp/B000IBPD76/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC? ie=UTF8&colid=VZZHUJDVFXXS&coliid=I2NN100D651FB4) would make me happy since i am teaching the little guy his letters right now.

u/wanderer333 · 1 pointr/Parenting

What about getting her a journal? That can be a great way to process trauma, but it's also a fun gift that she might really enjoy. There are some cool ones that even come with a lock, like this one (blank) or this one (with prompts). Get some nice gel pens to go with it. Or Wreck This Journal is a fun alternative if she's not into writing!
