These. I love these.

Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pens, Fine Point, Assorted Colors, 8 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019QBODBU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.gvPCbMWW7YCD

Besides dark chocolate and an orgasm, those pens will most certainly help.

Oh wow, great questions! Umm...

  1. Watercolor, cotton hot-press paper, painter's tape, and sometimes a quick sketch underneath. I add eye highlights with white ink, and sometimes use black ink too. Each painting is built up from several layers, light-to-dark. They take anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on my energy level (unpredictable internal weather) and how many layers the piece wants. I try to stagger multiple paintings at once since I have to wait for each layer to dry before doing the next one.

  2. I would say this one, because it was a real breakthrough moment, in learning to let go and take the photo in a direction I want.

  3. Oh that's hard, like picking a favorite author... off the top of my head, megaswan kicks some digital ass!

  4. Don't change anything, lol. Maybe creating an easy way to find other contributing artist's blogs/dA/etc?

  5. I discovered it probably through the links at /r/sketchdaily

  6. Read Art and Fear. And draw every day :) It's just like practicing any other skill; time and patience are rewarded.

  7. High contrast photos are easier to work with, and 3/4th head shots are more interesting, so I always scan the new submissions for those types of photos.

  8. redish and yellowish brown ;) Source: venus and mars

TUL Retractable Gel Pens

These are my fave by far. Wayyyy less smeary than G2’s.

u/mypanda · 4 pointsr/medicalschool

Or even just regular pens! Med students and residents seem to love this kind of pen, though my personal favorite is this kind, which has ultra fine points.

u/iconoclastic_magpie · 4 pointsr/pens

I've spent a lot of time on JetPens learning about the different brands.

My personal favorites:
As far as fountain pens, I like the Pilot Kakuno. I like the design, they write nicely, and are pretty cheap.

Muji Gel Ink Ballpoint pens

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Maica

Pilot Juice

Unibal Signo UM-151

If you have are interested in erasable pens (highlighters, markers), I recommend Pilot Frixion. There are a ton of options.

u/Charliethebrit · 3 pointsr/math
u/chris24m · 3 pointsr/PenmanshipPorn

I’m really loving the Tūl pens! Looks like they only go down to a 0.5mm, but they write smooth and dry quickly! They are exclusive to Office Depot in store or they show up on Amazon

u/panzstrata · 3 pointsr/ADHD

I've been trying out the Bullet Journal method over the last week. It's helped TREMENDOUSLY. Lets just hope I can stick with it.

The Pentel Philography might be a good option: https://smile.amazon.com/Pentel-Philography-Pen-Turquoise-Blue/dp/B01LRWIJXO

I have one and like if.

The Libretto looks a little classier in pictures but I haven’t ever owned one: https://smile.amazon.com/Pentel-Libretto-Roller-Black-K600PG/dp/B01B25B4AQ

I mention these because I love the EnerGel refills.

They are seriously the best.

And full color sets? They exist! I've got one on an Amazon wishlist!

Are you perhaps an engineer or architect? That printing is what my professors wanted mine to be, and it just never happened.

u/gft13 · 2 pointsr/pens

I recently stumbled upon/bought the Pentel Libretto and love it way more than any other iteration of the Energel or Sarasa I’ve ever found. Worth a shot! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B25B4AQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZgJCCbXZHTGRA

u/HyteMast · 2 pointsr/Undertale

I don't know if my paints, brushes or paper are just crap quality, but i can never get watercolours to blend like that so effortlessly! Water doesn't carry the pigments as much as i want it to, and it's kinda frustrating when i feel like doing a picture with more empty spaces than outlines and such.

Also yes white gel pens are the best! What kind are you using might i ask? I've currently got a couple of these hanging around to add that extra shimmer :D

u/themcp · 2 pointsr/pens

I have this Jinhao rosewood rollerball pen and I get a lot of compliments on it, it may be cheap but it looks really stylish. I bought it because I'd just got out of the hospital, didn't want to ink any of my fountain pens because I knew I'm not writing a lot and they'd dry up, and I couldn't find my good Cross pen, so I wanted a cheap but nice rollerball pen to use for signatures and such.

I also have this Cross Edge gel pen on my desk at home. (It's available in a variety of colors for a couple dollars more if you look, mine is blue.) I love it, but I can't tell you other people's reactions because I never take it anywhere.

u/N0V494 · 2 pointsr/Cyberpunk

Temporary/stick-on tattoos with embedded electronics have already been developed. I don't see why we couldn't potentially use something similar to the ink in these sorts of things for the wire part of actual embedded-in-skin tattoos. The only problem is that over time, tattoo lines spread and become fuzzy. This is why tattoo artists discourage designs with lines thinner than a few mm, despite the fact that they are possible to draw with modern tattoo guns.

Thus, any tattooed electronics would also need to have circuit lines at least a few mm thick, with at least a few mm between them, so that as the lines fade and spread over time no short-circuits are created. This in turn would necessitate large, simple circuit layouts, putting an effective ceiling on how complex a circuit could be within a given area of skin.

u/GhostNightgown · 2 pointsr/secretsanta

I'm getting three Circuit Scribe kits for gifts (giving really). Here is a link for their most basic kit: http://www.amazon.com/Circuit-Scribe-Pen-Lite-Kit/dp/B00M2DMITO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418273088&sr=8-2&keywords=circuit+scribe

u/cuntosaurus_rex · 2 pointsr/travel

I've been to Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Interlaken, Florence, Rome and just outside of Milan in Lake Como/Menaggio out of those that you just listed.

Don't spend too much time in Milan. The Duomo is spectacular, but unless you're into fashion like me, there's not much else worth seeing under time constraints. Also, when you say Interlaken, I hope you are including Gimmelwald! It's only a 45 minute cheap train/cable car ride away. Trust me, you will thank me after your trip I garantee it ;)!

I would suggest that you go to Cinque Terre also before heading to Florence (about 1.5 hour train ride) and do the full hike.

Now for the Eurail pass. Every time you want to take the train using your pass, you have to get a ticket printed by the cashiere at the ticket desk. After that, you board the train and at some point during the ride, a man will be walking around stamping your ticket. At first, I was giving the guy my ticket with my Eurail pass at the same time, so he would stamp both. However, I started giving them my ticket only without my pass and they would (90% of the time), only stamp my ticket without asking to see/stamp my pass. I guess they don't always check to see whether the ticket was acquired using the pass and probably focus more on checking the date and time. Once I'd get off the train, I'd erase my entry using this exact pen (I paid 4-5$ max for it, not 24$ like Amazon suggests!). I tried many pens prior, and this was the only one that completely erased from the Eurail pass.

Now, it's up to you to chose how many travel days you would like to have on your pass. I traveled Europe in the summer of 2010, and if I remember correctly, I bought the pass with 7 days of travel, when I actually needed 10 in my initial itinerary just in case. I ended up using it for about 14 voyages. It's a risk to take, and I wouldn't want to influence your decision. Remember that if you get caught, you will probably lose your pass altogether.

The pilot limited is a great pen and the grip offers a lot of cushion. I have one myself and use it in conjunction with my Rotring 600 for most daily things. I often end up using the limited for
note-taking because, like you, I write with a death grip and apply a lot of pressure. I very rarely get pain when writing with it. I have used fountain pens and as much as I love them, I don't think they're the best for note-taking. These are the opinions of a CS/Math student too. Good luck finding your pen! It took me a while to find the right one for me. PM if you have any other questions!

Tūl gels are my personal go to. They are smooth, consistent, and quick drying. They are a little pricier, and as far as I know office max is the only brick-and-mortar store that carries them.

u/rvis · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

Uniball Deluxe Micro

Straight barrel, fine point, instantly dry, super light. A close second is a Uniball Vision Micro.

I also keep a Lamy Fountain Pen around for signatures and generally being a douche in meetings. It's a decent fountain pen, regardless of my affectations and functional enough for extended writing. It is a bit large, though, so don't expect to be carting it around.

u/Shmay08 · 2 pointsr/PenmanshipPorn

Is it these??

Don't sacrafice comfort, you will change your mind later if you do. Lots of pens use g2 refills, like the g2 limited on amazon. It's a nice upgrade from the plastic g2.

The ultra-fine tip, .38mm, not only is really nice to write with but has an added bonus of the ink drying instantaneously.

u/Bogdanowicz92 · 2 pointsr/gaming

Unfortunately u/Helpmeastroscareme reposted someone elses work. Depends what you want to do. If you're looking to focus on linework I suggest a set of [ fine line pens ] (https://www.amazon.com/Magicdo-Assorted-Professional-Drawing-Technical/dp/B01DHIC644/ref=br_lf_m_qn3zc5asfhhc8ks_img?_encoding=UTF8&s=office-products). Id also suggest a [ white ink pen ] (https://www.amazon.com/Uni-Ball-Impact-Point-Stock-White/dp/B00161UAJS).

u/LizMEF · 1 pointr/fountainpens

I'm not sure one would. (Afraid I disagree with u/mwgrover - but that's a great link he gave.) The micro is really fine. I used them for years before I switched to regular uni-ball simply because the micro felt rough on US paper. Then I switched to fountain pens and FP paper. Sec, I'll go get one... OK, the box says .2mm - assuming we're talking about this guy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002FYXYJI

OK, writing with it, it looks roughly the same as a Sailor ProGear F nib, so a western EF (depending on the brand, wetness, ink, and paper) is going to be closest. (I used HP 24lb laser paper for this test.)

u/khedoros · 1 pointr/AskReddit

It looks like the pen itself is fairly easy to get a few different places:

Amazon

Wal-Mart

As far as the Fentora emblem, my guess is that it was custom-printed by a pharma rep or something. Do you consider that a defining characteristic of the pen?

u/tpx187 · 1 pointr/pens

The G2 Limited is something I've have my eye on...

http://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Limited-Retractable-Metallic-31153/dp/B0010NL4BU

u/jaaardstyck · 1 pointr/The_Donald

I'm a fully devoted G2 man. Even then, $15 felt like a pretty steep investment over the regular ones. https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Limited-Retractable-Metallic-31153/dp/B0010NL4BU

u/AONomad · 1 pointr/fountainpens

Gonna give these a go!

u/mightbenow · 1 pointr/EDC

I carry around a Cross Edge in green, it's very sturdy and just glides on paper.

u/safeXcamp · 1 pointr/TrollXChromosomes

Aww yeah the .38mm. It's just a ballpoint pen but it's very fine and I've sworn fealty to this pen for the rest of my life.

9 Dollars, worth every penny. The squishy grip on this thing is out of this world.

my all time favorite pen is this one - uniball premier silver barrel. i've been using it since 2009 and refuse to use anything else unless i absolutely have to.

Drawable circuits (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/electroninks/circuit-scribe-draw-circuits-instantly

or hide foil capacitive sensors (arduino controlled http://playground.arduino.cc/Code/CapacitiveSensor http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-a-pencil-drawing-into-a-capacitive-sensor-for/) beneath a picture. Then placing your hands/fingers on different parts of the picture will make a computer play different sounds or something.

or make a giant table sized video game controller (buttons so far apart it requires more than one person to operate) using arduino foil buttons to play classic mario.

I get you Lily. That fry looks amazing.

Where have you been all my life, Chris?

Since school has started, I'd love these pens off my highest priority list

u/wtfie · 1 pointr/adhdwomen

I use a Passion Planner and do some bujoing stuff in it, I absolutely love it. You can download the pages for free to try them out, and they frequently have sales for the email list. If you Google it there's lots of creative ways to use it. I get a lot of benefit from the monthly reflection.

I also absolutely love the Pilot Frixion line of pens and highlighters, they're ERASABLE because my schedule changes a lot too! I like this fine point size and colors

u/Foxes_and_Fireflies · 1 pointr/opiates

And here's one with 180 colors plus 180 refills for $25!

u/walkah21 · 1 pointr/funny

that's why you buy this. They are amazing!

u/motivates_you · 1 pointr/Handwriting

I can do that!
I use three pens primarily.
Lamy Safari fountain w/Lamy ink--practicing or formal letters
UniBall Micro--work/journal
Zebra F301 gel if you can find it--work/journal

I feel like regular pens get a bad rap, but I love the uniBall and the F301 for a lot of reasons. The primary one is that they write very well!

Oh thank you! I am glad you like it! I use a locally-known brand as I am not from the US but they are called the Dong-A Mygel Pens-- they are a line called "MyMetal" and I found a link for them on Amazon !

u/girlfran69 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Yay! Congrats on the new job! I think you will like these from my wishlists. (they're from Amazon.ca but can be easily found on Amazon.com)

I have these cool pens that erase with friction, from Japan: Pilot Frixion

I also really love this lip balm/lip primer, coincidentally, also from Japan. It's very nourishing! DHC Lip Cream

u/jaspertouben · 1 pointr/writing

Oh man, .38 pens are the best! Have you ever tried the erasable ones? That was one of my best discoveries when I was in Japan!

Speaking of Japan, I got on a big whiskey kick while I was there. What's your go-to? And do you have an opinion on whiskey stones?

u/freakingwilly · 1 pointr/mildlyinteresting

As far as clicking pens go, the Pilot G2 Limited gets my vote. The color selection is much nicer and the rubber grip is a welcome bonus.

Unfortunately, the ink in Pilot G2's takes too long to dry, so it's not lefty friendly. I'm not a lefty, I just like quick drying ink.

u/wentzelg · 1 pointr/pens

how about the pilot g2 limited? Metal body, takes the g2 refills in 0.38, comes in many colors and is not really limited.

https://www.amazon.com/Pilot-Limited-Retractable-Roller-31535/dp/B00FACLJEE

I scored several of these when they were on clearance at target. got them for $5 each.

There is also the G2 pro, but it is much more plastic than the limited. Go for the limited.

If your budget can stand it, take a look at the Tactile Turn Mover. It is an all metal machined pen that does not look like some of the. more industrial ones, but is built just as well. Takes the G2 and comes with the 0.38 in it. Various metal and various price points. Buy it once for life. I have the copper one and it is beautiful.

u/LewsTTelamon · 1 pointr/medschool

I fell in love with these pens during my first two years of medical school.
