Having already cracked the edge of mine, I wish I'd gone to the dark cased side earlier. The watch and an industrial environment just aren't a good match.

I've found the clear protectors sufficient for my needs.

u/openthewell · 6 pointsr/moto360

I use this one: Xiemin Stainless Steel watchband. After a few months of pretty heavy use, its still going strong.

u/mrwcs · 6 pointsr/AppleWatch

I bought these a couple years ago and I have no complaints.

Had it put on by a local jeweler. Couldn't be happier.

Picked these up from a TOMS brick and mortar store. For some reason they're not available online yet. They had ALL of them listed in the above link, except the 42mm Black Artisan which is why I went to buy one in the first place! I tried the Olive Utility band but it was too dark (it's not really olive, at least not similar to the Army Green from Clockwork Synergy), so I went with Black.

There are two types of bands. Utility line at $49 in exclusive colors and hardware (e.g. clasp) colors for 42mm and 38mm respectively. These are very similar to a typical NATO or Zulu band, except they have some leather trim to make them stand out. Artisan also comes in 42mm and 38mm and is more expensive at $25, mostly due to the leather underside of each band. Both lines use the official Apple band connectors (which makes up about $10 of their price). Each band provides 1 year of solar light to someone in need. Interestingly TOMS defines 42mm as "Men" and 38mm as "Women".

These bands work with all types of Apple Watches, including Nike+, Hermes, etc. Especially these bands because they use the official Apple band connectors so they are a PERFECT flush fit. Fairly obvious point but worth re-iterating for those new to the Apple Watch.

Artisan Red 42mm - $75

Pros

  • Never seen a NATO or Zulu style band with leather underside

  • Very unique yet sophisticated look combining fabric and leather

  • Super comfortable

  • Already received 2 random compliments on it today, haven't got that with many of my other Watch bands

  • Uses OFFICIAL Apple connector, which looks far superior to the third-party ones I have

    Cons

  • The leather adds to the price

  • The official Apple Watch band connector adds to the price

  • If you have small wrists the tongue at the end of the band - the one with the leather (see photos) - has a habit of sticking out. If you're looking at your Watch, you can see it pop out under your wrist above the 12 o'clock which is cool or unsightly depending on your outlook. May be it'll loosen up over time but the metal loop right now is clearly unable to hold it down in place. If you have a larger wrist this isn't as much of an issue as the metal loop just about reaches the leather part and holds it down.

  • The white on the band is going to dull and get dirty real quick. After 1 day it's already lost its brightness

  • The band itself is 22mm, so you'll have gaps in the lugs. Very confusing design choice as clearly these bands are custom made so could have been at least 2mm wider (see photos for the gap); if you wear band tighter the watch will not wriggle on your wrist

    Utility Black 42mm - $49

I have NATO and Zulu two piece bands from Clockwork Synergy and a couple I DIY'd myself.

    Pros

  • Very solid feel

  • Leather band loop is classy touch

  • (Space) Black clasp gives it a distinct look (but also a potential con, see below)

  • Uses OFFICIAL Apple connector, which looks far superior to the third-party ones I have

  • With every purchase you give 1 year of solar light to someone

    Cons

  • (Space) Black clasp doesn't match polished silver lugs - which will look odd on a Space Grey or Space Black Watch

  • The official Apple Watch band connector adds to the price

  • No leather underside, but then that's why it's $25 cheaper than the Artisan versions

  • The band itself is 22mm, so you'll have gaps in the lugs. Very confusing design choice as clearly these bands are custom made so could have been at least 2mm wider (see photos for the gap); if you wear band tighter the watch will not wriggle on your wrist

  • Pricier than other nylon two-piece bands of similar quality

  • Compared to the Artisan, the Utility band is a lot more rigid where the lug loops through it; you have to twist it hard in order for the band to move; this is a Pro or a Con depending on how you feel. For me, it's a Con because sometimes the band gets stuck at an angle and you have to twist it where it connects to the lug to rotate it back into a horizontal position and then put the band around your wrist. If you don't do that then the Watch will lie at an awkward angle on the wrist. But once it's in position it's great!

    Conclusion

Overall, these are fantastic bands. They told me they're only available for the holidays so depending on how well they sell we'll see if TOMS will make more. Kudos to them for going with the office Apple Watch band program and procuring the official (relatively expensive to Chinese knock-off) lug connectors. However, I don't see why they didn't go for at least 24mm on the band width given how much attention to detail they've given these bands otherwise. Out of the two, I think the Utility band is my favorite as it's more versatile.

EDIT: The gaps in the lugs are beginning to bother me. I'm going to throw one on a more traditional spring bar style connector like this one and follow up on this post soon.

I bought this two pack and it's worked out really well for me. It does scratch easily but I'm pretty active with my watch so I think for the price it's worth it.

From Amazon, made by Kartice. I didn't want to appear like I was promoting them, so I didn't post a link right away.

You can find them in other countries' Amazon, too. Just search for "kartice zenwatch 3". I ordered mine from Amazon Germany.

Yes, per their Amazon product description, and they throw in an extra pair of quick-release pins with the band (4 total).

I think this band is very attractive, though I'd have a hard time justifying $50 for it.

This one claims it doesn't crack the back, thinking about trying it out.

I bough this MoKo one and I think it looks classy, the magnet is strong and doesn't slip and overall works perfectly.

My only gripe is that the magnet isn't shielded, so the rear of the magnet on the outer part of the clasp is also magnetic

I bought my Dad the Simpeak one for Christmas and he's very impressed with it. the quality seemed really good too.

I have two of these and they work just as good as OEM. Word of warning though the light is very bright. I put some tint on it and it's perfect.

Does the charger have a Motorola logo on the bottom? Wondering if it is a knock-off charger.

This one on Amazon has a red light.

I got this one. I've worn it daily for nearly two years and got compliments on the pairing with the S1 SS all the time. I remember it being difficult to size but I honestly can't recommend it enough.

Some reviews say theirs broke... but mine has been great. I was not expecting how much lighter it is than the link band was. Makes the watch a lot more comfortable to wear.

I actually just ended up buying a new cradle and then it worked like normal. I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VNZAW6I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The Pebble Time Steel's link bank AFAIK has no half-link to remove.

Your only option if you want that half-link option is to get a third-party link band; Truffol has some great antique link and two-tone metal bands.

u/grpyles · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

Well it doesn't seem like Apple makes a XL band for the 38mm, only for the 42mm. Maybe trying on Amazon looking at a band connector like this and finding a band that fits comfortably to attach to it?

u/Hixman · 1 pointr/GearS3

This one in antique black. I'm shipping the black one over to see if I like that color more.

u/thechrismonster · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

I'd say what makes it uglier is all the writing and edges on the front of the case.
I got this case which was fairly cheap and has no distracting writing on the front so it blends in and makes it look less bulky.

u/Feakre · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

This one from Amazon

It was actually pretty good. Never had any issues. It added a little bulk, but I was ok with it. Although now that it's off, I like the AW bare.

u/bluewaterfall · 1 pointr/iphone

I bought the S2, gold watch with midnight blue sports band. Bought 2 additional bands, both woven nylon: Tahoe Blue and Midnight Blue as well.

I also have this charging stand: Mercase Apple Watch Stand, Night Stand Mode iWatch Charging Stand Bracket Docking Station

u/ArkAngel06 · 1 pointr/AndroidWear

I went with black, with metal band. After wearing it a few days, I decided it was a bit too heavy for every day use, so I bought a magnetic black stainless steel loop band on amazon. It's great. Plus now I have a nice dress band for special occasions.

You can get this band on AliExpress for $5 and it's a HUGE upgrade from the band you are currently looking at.

u/cabd0 · 1 pointr/EDC
u/Imlulse · 1 pointr/zenwatch

It does, I bought it on Amazon for like $9 (it's up under a few different sellers/listings), nothing special but a decent backup... Asus' rubber band is nicer but like $25 or 30 and seemingly always out of stock at the one online shop that carries it (B&H, tho I haven't checked lately, my backorder took over a month to be fulfilled FWIW).

At this point I'd get something like the Casio as a holdover until the SteelConnect adapters for the ZW3 go on sale next month, then you'll be able to use any standard 22mm band. Edit: actually the Karticle band mentioned below looks like a good bet too and not much more expensive than the a Casio...

Where were they months ago when everyone here was clamoring for bands?

I have a similar stand and I just bring the whole thing when I travel. I do have a second charging wire in my car for after long hikes/runs, though.

u/HeartwarmingWarfare · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

How long has it been since you took off the case? This is a common complaint of watch cases. The way to prevent it is to occasionally take off the case and clean the case and watch. I wear cases and I haven't had any scratches.

A final thought/guess: If you have one of those cases that goes around the screen and watch body (some people call it a watch condom), aren't they fairly loose and it's easy for water and dirt and etc to get under it? Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8PNEFN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xPoLzbAT6ANHB
Maybe that's how it happened. My cases fit very tightly on my watch and I've never seen them actually dirty when I take them off.

u/mrcollin101 · 1 pointr/moto360

I got the first link for a rubberized band. Works well and looks great. Pirpos build fot this waych too. I also have the Steel connect so i constantly switch out to a black metal band, second link, and the stock leather one. As you can see I am a big fan of the black on black look, same as my phone and all the other accessories i own.
