Here's what I've picked up for christmas gifts so far:

  • Husband: Nintendo Switch, Zelda and Mario; and a microwave popcorn popper with a variety of popcorn kernels
  • Mom: Kate Spade handbag from the surprise sale
  • Dad: Chipolo Classic 4-pack
  • Every parent and stepparent in my husband's family: 23 and me ancestry kits
  • Brother in law: Books (his request)
  • BFF: She requested bright, cute and practical kitchen accessories so I got her this sponge caddy, blue le creuset salt and pepper shakers (acquired locally), these tea bag holders, this cast iron trivet and this spoon rest.
  • Work friends: These are more like gag gifts that make more sense if you know the people-- but I got one guy a blind box from an aquarium-themed cat hat collection and another guy a fidget pen.
  • Dog themed secret santa: This was a pretty high budget exchange that I took part in this year. My recipient has a blind dog so I got her a snuffle mat, a giant bone and I found a company on aliexpress that literally has someone HAND-PAINT whatever image you want onto canvas and mail it to the US for like $20. So I ordered a painting of a modern pop art style greyhound. It hasn't arrived yet though.

Still need to arrange a low budget work group secret santa, pick out some liquor for my boss, a nice candy set or something for some of our support staff downstairs and maybe something more personal for each of my in-laws-- I did find a beautiful painted glass Turkish bowl for my MIL but I'm at a loss for the others.

I must be. There was that. Officer claimed I wasn’t wearing a seat belt because a shoulder pad obscured his view of it. He also came into my lane and forced me on the shoulder and got me for failure to maintain lane.

Got ticketed because I was riding the white line.

Got another ticket when I “illegally” crossed the road from the TA in Wildwood, Fl to the SB entrance of I-75 even though it was 0200 and nobody was on the road. The cop was hidden. He said I needed to cross one lane at a time.

Then again in Georgia for not having both hands on the wheel because I was playing with a fidget cube even though my hand was not in view. So I no longer take one hand off the steering wheel except to change the radio and take a drink.

Had the cops called on me in Athens, GA a month ago because I hit one truck while backing into a dock (my fault, I’ll own up to that) and a second driver claimed I nailed the center of his front bumper. The cop said the cards are against me on that one and he took the driver’s word and cited me for that incident as well.

Most recently because I was driving 58 in a 55 in Indianapolis.

And the one from this morning.

That’s been since February. No more than 6 months worth of tickets.

No worries, man.

Also, if the person really is ticking their pen or whatever and can't stop, ask if they could find something silent to manipulate so they don't distract everyone else.

Fidget cubes have silent sides that satisfy the "need to click" without being as distracting to others. Not that they have to get one, it's just a fun little alternative.

EDIT: and unfortunately, if they can't turn it off or turn it down for medical reasons, I think you will need to invest in some noise-canceling earplugs/headphones to boost your concentration.

I was gonna suggest a fidget cube. I'm a terrible fidgeter when I'm not the one running the campaign and buying this one off Amazon helped a lot.

Really, it makes sense that the internet is created as a tool for ADHD. It boggles the mind how often the world calls us disordered, when they use our tools - drugs, toys, coping mechanisms - to such an extent that it becomes abusive in their communities. With the internet, it’s like they want to be more like us. I don’t get it.

Looks like you just pulled the images off this amazon page and didn't actually do any assembly at all.

Glad to hear that you like it! This particular spinner isn't common online, before it hit Amazon (sold by Spin War), I only saw it sporadically on Asia-based websites.

As for buttons, I strongly recommend a larger size like the 22mm Kongs. This is a heavy spinner, and the bigger buttons give a much better grip, and the deep dish on the Kongs really helps. If you can, I'd recommend that you buy a bunch of Kong 22mm SS from FidgetHQ while they still have them, since they sometimes go out of stock for long periods of time.

I haven't tried any other buttons yet because the Kongs seem to match the spinner perfectly. I do have some larger RevPunx, Spinetic, 2RDesigns, and other buttons that I may try on it, but I can't imagine that they'll be better than the Kongs.

BTW there is also a Starss "Shell" spinner sold by the same seller on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Starss-Spinner-Stainless-Bearing-Christmas/dp/B078GQ73RK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518377686&sr=8-1&keywords=starss

I bought one and it isn't bad at all, although I prefer the "Lines" spinner.

https://www.amazon.com/ONO-Roller-Original-Handheld-Promotes/dp/B079T416DB

I searched "hand roller toy." There might be some that aren't "the original" brand and are cheaper.

Here is a picture of some fairly small spinners that I like and that are currently available:

The upper left (dual dragon) and lower right (mini medic) spinners are available from this trusted seller:

https://spinetic-spinners.com/product-category/non-spinetic-clearance-sale/

The upper right and lower left are available from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/WeFidget-ELECTROPLATED-Discrete-Finishes-Replaceable/dp/B072KML9BN/

https://www.amazon.com/FREEFOG-Stainless-Spinner-Desktop-Rotating/dp/B07R4WTSS4/

The last one (lower left) is a little more bulky than the others, but I really enjoy it.

It's called a fidget stick, though you can probably use it as a dry eraser. https://www.amazon.com/Mokuru-Reliever-Antistress-Desktop-Kururin/dp/B079S4Q3JD

How many do you have? If you've got 10 or so...

This sort of card box plus some sheets of felt work great, and the whole "project" can probably be done shopping locally at a craft store, a game store, and about $5.

Amazon has vaguely the same thing with pre-made foam, if you don't wanna DIY and just want a box to store them. These run about $15.

Pelican cases with custom inserts like that are significantly more expensive (I think around $70? Don't recall), but obviously cooler from all perspectives. I personally have both one of those amazon boxes and a DIY one to hold my ~20 spinners. I'd be interested in the Pelican one if I was transporting them a lot, but for me it's just storage.
