I measured the width of the cargo area and then just searched around at Walmart, Target, and Advance Auto until I found one that fit those dimension for like $15. It's one with 4 cubes like this (I actually think it is this one) and it's very handy but it blocks the two little lights on either side so my hatch is now completely dark at night. I'm gonna pick up a net made for this car instead.

>So I was showing a car at work when I open up the trunk to show the customer how much total space they have there was a swastika made of the car blocksThat are typically used to hold your stuff in place while you drive

We bought a VW SUV recently, and I know exactly the blocks you are talking about. For everyone else - they are plastic cargo organizers with velcro on the bottom, that stick to the carpets, and you can arrange them however you want so your groceries or whatever won't slide around in the cargo area. They are very useful. Here is a picture of two of them:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06VVPWSXM/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3

Our car came with 4 of them, and it would be easy to form them in the shape of a swastika. I could easily see how this could be done accidentally too. But given the other information, it probably wasn't an accident.

u/she_never_did · 4 pointsr/boardgames

I've worked at FLGSs for the better part of the last five years (minus some frictional unemployment after one went out of business) and I have a pretty ridiculous collection of games. I run demos (often with personal copies of games) at "my" store but I also attend a couple of other gaming events regularly and play games at home frequently as well. I keep a selection of my favorites in my car at all times in case I encounter a "gamergency." So I wanted to be able to carry a large number of games in a small amount of space permanently, without sacrificing organization or ease of setup.

So for the last year, I've been "tinying" my games. I get 6"x10"x3" boxes (such as pencils come in when shipped by the gross) for free from a previous employer, a school supply shop (they give them away to the public). You'd be surprised how much you can get in a box that size. Splendor, Carcassonne, and Catan all work really well in smaller boxes -- anything without a board. I used my printer/scanner to reduce the original box art and pasted it onto the smaller boxes, then covered them with clear contact paper for durability.

Ultra Pro card boxes are my best friend; I'm about to buy a half dozen more for some games I've recently acquired. I also use little divided plastic boxes from the dollar store a lot. I don't have a lot of pics on my phone right now but I've posted a link some examples below.

Also included in the album is a pic of the games that live in my trunk; the carrier is one of these: (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019HGI31U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TCJBxbBF51MGH). At 22x12x14, it's currently holding 22 games (plus expansions, some in original boxes but most not). I've got room for a few more small ones, too. I love that it has handles; laundry baskets and storage bins hurt my hands. (Tinied games are DENSE, thus my bin is deceptively heavy.)

TL;DR: HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF SOME GAMES I MADE SMALLER

I use this thing I picked up from Amazon. Has Velcro and feet on the bottom so it doesn’t slide. I put my backpack and grocery bags in there every day and it never slides around. Also it’s collapsible so you can tuck it away to fit other items. It even comes with two bungeee cords in case you need those for anything.

my gf bought me a car trunk organizer from amazon, it fits a lot of products and can be attached anywhere! for the price it's a great buy. i wouldnt carry it around with a lot of stuff in it as it gets heavy and feels like the bottom is gonna rip out but that's how it is with pretty much every large surface bag.

I have the same problem for the same use case. I plan on getting some velcro stickers and sticking them to the bottom of the items that I plan on storing there. Tire Air compressor, First Aid Kit, Sun Shade, etc. They also sell car storage containers with a velcro type of bottom to solve this exact problem.

Something like this can tie down so it doesn’t slide around using the cargo hooks. Since you want to keep those things in your vehicle all the time, it’s better to have something you can just move around in one when you need to have extra cargo area. There’s different options, some smaller.

Not what you are asking for. But I have bins like these that I bought and are great. They fold up when not in use, and I can easily pull them out of the car and set on a shelf (eg I go on a weekend trip so I can just pull all my work gear out in one go and throw it back in when I’m done).

I use one of these. I bought it for $22 but it looks like they are out of stock right now

u/foxbarrington · 2 pointsr/uberdrivers

I'd recommend making a checklist, something like:

  • Phone charger
  • Vacuum the seats and floors (love this guy)
  • Check/remove everything from all cupholders / seat backs / door pockets
  • Windex passenger windows
  • Clear out trunk (these are great )
  • Fill tank

I have a similar one. It's lasted for over 3 years which isn't bad for the price.

The shrink wrap comes from Walmart. It's in the office supply areas near tape/rubber bands, etc... It's a blue handle with a 6" shrink wrap roll on it.

I wrap the drinks so that the lid doesn't come off, it take two rounds of wrap to get it to stick. This is the same stuff businesses used to wrap pallets of stuff.

The cargo organizer is kinda like this, but came from Walmart. Sadly, it's cardboard inside and is wearing out, but it was only $19.

https://www.amazon.com/MIU-COLOR-Collapsible-Containers-Compartments/dp/B071L4J43Q/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=car+trunk+organizer&qid=1559328208&s=automotive&sr=1-7

I had to cut slices in it with a razor to get the straps to run thru the bottom.

The saddle bags are now very worn, but look like these:
https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/tour-master-select-saddle-bags

This is a temporary setup, I have the fiberglass to make some new ones, but these work for now.

I don't like the backpack because it's not comfortable over long runs all day long. With this setup, I can go all day long.

u/Amarcklv · 2 pointsr/RangerNext
u/nitroxyl · 2 pointsr/subaruimpreza

I bought this.

It works well because the velcro sticks to the trunk liner. I have my cleaning products, snow brush, and lots of other tools in the little cubby to the side.

It is quite pricey for what it is but worth it IMO.

A high quality storage organizer for the trunk is always useful. I have this one and it's great. It can fold down to half size when you don't need all the space.

u/iJeffwuh · 2 pointsr/XVcrosstrek

I got This for easy storage in the back. You can easily strap it to the side if you put the seats down. I like the compartments and the easiness of removing it. I currently put tarps in there. A basic took set, gloves, flashlights, etc. I just got the cheapest one I could find and was surprised by the quality. Probably could spend a few bucks more and get someone with extra features.

I use this trunk organizer to hold most of my stuff and I keep my hiking boots, climbing shoes, and approach shoes in a milk crate. I use another milk crate to hold all my cleaning/detailing supplies. With the trunk organizer and the two milk crates, I still have plenty of space for groceries/shopping bags or whatever else I might need to throw in the the trunk.

My '17 EX has the 2nd row buckets and came with the Ford floor liners and the grooves in them are deep enough for the gunk I bring into the vehicle. I normally buy Weathertech's, but I'm happy with what I have.

I don't recall if the third row has floor liners or not as I don't use the third row, so it's always stowed. I didn't get a cargo liner either, but I did get myself one of these, plus I have a square milk crate that I keep in the back, and the included cargo net is good at keeping things from falling out when I open the back.

u/licecrispies · 1 pointr/deliverydrivers

I use an expandable cargo-crate paired with a pet barrier.

The cargo-crate allows me to store loose items, or things that might otherwise tumble and roll around in the car in. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ECMRFTA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

The pet barrier allows me to attach small things as well as stack items higher up without worrying that it'll spill into the rear passenger area. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040Q8ZM0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I have a rear cargo-net as well, but I find that I rarely use it over the cargo-crate. (https://www.hondapartworld.com/cr-v-accessories/cr-v-interior/623_08L96-SWA-100)

I've been thinking about doing the rolling toolbox thing.

But for now, a trunk organizer inside of a tote with canvas bags helps a lot.

This - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071L4J43Q/

Fits exactly into this - https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-15gal-industrial-tote-black-with-yellow-lid-and-latches/-/A-53335913

With these for small items - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LGNAIA6/

The trunk organizer helps more than I expected and the box is less full and easier to navigate with the same amount of stuff.

u/Rav_Love · 1 pointr/rav4club

I use a medium sized gym/duffle bag that we all got from my department for Christmas, but any large gym/duffle bag would do. Hardest part is getting all my bedding stuffed in the bitch plus my other stuff, so dont be afraid to go big. Part of the way I learned to not carry the kitchen sink in was to have a space in my trunk/back area of my SUV where I can stow stuff in a organized cubby ( like this one https://www.amazon.com/Drive-Auto-Products-Storage-Organizer/dp/B01F9IS2Y8/ref=zg_bs_318295011_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3FK8S6WBYSVWQWM257B2)
And just run to my vehicle if I needed something extra but kept all the essentials in my bag.

Goodluck!

u/AlexTakeTwo · 1 pointr/subaruimpreza

I got a couple of different sizes of totes to use, that way they're easy to remove and store if I need more cargo space, or I can move them to the back seat, and so on.

For the stuff that always lives in the car, I got this velcro-bottomed tote and I keep one full of stuff, and the other folded flat behind it for grab-and-go. The velcro sticks REALLY well and it goes nowhere. Unfortunately this exact one seems discontinued, but there should be similar ones available.

For groceries and errands and such, I have this basket with handles. I usually keep this basket in the house, toss "things to go to the car" in it, then take it with me for errands. It stays in place pretty well, and I re-inforce that by using a small carabiner to clip it to one of the side rings in the cargo area. Great for dropping multiple grocery bags and shopping bags in to keep in one place, then carry inside in one trip.

And finally for the bigger things that don't fit in totes, I have these cargo blocks which store nicely in that first velcro tote, and then stick to the floor of the cargo area to hold larger boxes and items in place so they don't slide all over. (Had a set of these with a VW a number of years ago, they were the only thing I missed about that VW so I bought a set for my Impreza when I got it.)

u/TsuDhoNimh2 · 1 pointr/konmari

I got by with an old milk crate - if I needed to make all of the trunk available, it was just one box to move out.

This might work. It attaches with velcro, does not work with plastic.

Another possibility is a tool bag - the kind that sit flat and open really wide.

It fits perfectly in the back and if you have the cargo cover I wrapped the handles around it so it stays in place.

As for what I store, I keep some water and nuts in my cubby, the smaller cargo pocket has bungee cords, bigger one on the right has a small tool bag, bug spray, and a fire extinguisher, and the cargo box has a sleeping bag, pet cover, Stanley jumper box/compressor, plus smaller items in the “cooler” like a towel, sterno grill, plates, dog toys, anything I don’t want rattling around.
