It just occurred to me; somebody needs to sell a double sided suction cup so selfie chicks can temporarily stick their phones to their mirrors and control the shutter by voice command.

EDIT: Well, somebody beat me too it but that's cool. They're so cheap - $7 for a pack of 10.

We need to let the hot selfie chicks of the world know about these to free up their hands for more interesting things.

u/ErikaTheZebra · 12 pointsr/BadDragon

Every attempt I have heard has never worked. Don't do it. Not worth ruining a good toy over.

However, you can get some double ended suction cups, like These. (These are probably too small, just providing an example) to hang them up with. Other people have had success with these.

u/TheWoman2 · 9 pointsr/legaladvice

It looks exactly like a Command hook. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0753NHZVQ

OP, If I'm right, they are easy to remove and reattach later before moving out. You would have to buy a new sticky strip for it.

u/rasfert · 8 pointsr/techsupport

This is the best solution. Buy a bunch of Command Hooks and do a neat job, and your landlady probably won't mind.

u/isoselyse · 7 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

These guys. One for socks, one for undies, etc and I hang my bras and dainty pieces on s-hooks in my closet.

u/TanMango · 6 pointsr/malefashionadvice

They're adhesive hooks similar to these.

If someone interested, you can get it from here.

Or this, so you don't have to see it.

Love my Denise Interchangeable set, I rarely use them for Tunisian since I haven't put the time into learning anything beyond tss, but they're my go-to hooks for pretty well every project.

These look about the same size. Slightly different shape, but very close. They might work. Good luck!

First of all Kim Guzaman's Video Tutorials are indispensable. They helped me so much in the beginning. I agree with both /u/I_heart_DPP and /u/boyd121 that you should definitely work up a small swatch and start with that just to get the hang of the "simple" stitch. I then recommend making a smaller project like a scarf or dishtowels to get your tension down. You can use a regular crochet hook with a hair tie wrapped around the end as a "stopper" until you get the hang of it.

A few key points of Tunisian Crochet:

1.) Always try to start your project with the Tunisian Purl Foundation Stitch this will help alleviate the "curl" that can occur with Tunisian crochet.

2.) Use a hook at least 1 but more likely 2-3 times larger than the size recommended by the weight of the yarn you are using.

3.) The width of your project should not exceed 3 times the length of your hook. For example, if you want to make an afghan that is 3 feet wide your hook+cable needs to be at least 12 inches long.

For me, this technique is much faster. I made this Tunisian Watercolor Scarf in a couple of days. It's super fast once you get in the groove. :-D

Once you practice a bit and feel like you want to try a larger project (i.e. afghan) I recommend something like this simple (yet beautiful) Tweed Blanket as it incorporates a few techniques to challenge yourself and move beyond the simple stitch, including color changes, to keep things interesting.

I love my Denise Interchangeable Tunisian hooks. I bought a few supplemental cables from ebay for really large projects in 25", 40" and 60" lengths. They slide through the stitches like buttah' and the cables attach strongly and easily.

I hope this helps! Happy Hookin' :-D My inbox is always open if you have any questions.

Or just buy super hooks.

u/unreasonably_sensual · 3 pointsr/vinyl

These. I saw someone else recommend them in another thread.

u/Foodyum5530 · 3 pointsr/Cardinals

They sell hooks that attach to walls by an adhesive and don’t do any damage.

Something like this

u/that-dude-overthere · 2 pointsr/flying

I use command hooks and I just put some velcro on the back and stick it somewhere on the dash. I also have one on the back of my ram ipad mount so it hangs right below my tablet.

Fyi sensorcon does recommend you re calibrate the sensor every 6 months. You can do it yourself or send it in and they do it for 50$.

And farts contain carbon dioxide not monoxide so it should not have alerted. And how do you know your getting false readings? I used it while mowing my lawn and it got a high of 35ppm. Just standing by the fuel pump when a plane taxis up I'll usually read 4-10 ppm. It's a pretty sensitive unit

Command hooks. They're basically tape attached to a hook and if your wall is primed properly, it won't take off the paint when you remove them.

I do live my pit barrel cooker. I would say you may run intoa problem with some meats and needing the hooks to be straight.

I got some of those hooks too. They help when hanging bigger pieces of meat and trying to figure out how to hook and hang them. Trust me.

u/purebredginger · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You have absolutely NO idea how much you will need these. Every time I went to Walmart with the parents, I stocked up. Congrats! Would you like a falafel with that?

Craigslist freezer - we chose upright for vertical space. Chest freezer might work - but you would have to figure out how to hang in it.

Temperature controller - there are lots of options. This one is the Johnson 419. You plug it into the wall then plug the freezer into the female lead. It cycles the freezer on and off at the set temperature. There are cheaper options - but I had this one laying around. I'll link some suggestions below.

The fan is a computer fan with speed switch. I wired it to an old 12v wall wort I had laying around in the parts bin.

Meat hooks are just stainless hooks - again from amazon.

Ahhhh these are my favorite things to encounter!!!!!! A few things I love as a stanky lady on playa (in case you care)

  • poo-pourri. Maybe buy 10ish and just restock if they are commandeered?
  • dry shampoo
  • spray deodorant
  • lavender wipes to go

Another BIG one I would love to see -- why not also decorate a cool, small trash bin for people to put their wipes into? The wipes are not supposed to go into the potty hole, but time after time again I see them in there when I look into the hole. What I imagine is that someone didn't know, brought it into the porto, used it to wipe their poo-poo, & see the signs but are now like "well shit what do I do?" So maybe having a place for their wipes would help this!? It will be gross for you but just strap on those rubber gloves baby!

I'm assuming you are planning to come through every once and a while to check on your gift so maybe it can be a little daily :)

In terms of securing stuff, would it be kosher if you got a few of these bad boys and then tied the items to hang them?

I have no idea if this info is helpful but hope it is!! And hope I get to experience your porto gift!

My apartment has pretty terrible lighting and with fall/winter coming on strong in the Boston area, I decided to put together a little home gardening station to help with lighting and movement of the plants for watering. I went into this with the goal of having my setup accommodate most of my small collection of plants and to allow for easy movement without having to mess with the grow lights. In the end, I decided on a cart-based design composed of the following items:

Bror Utility Cart 33 ½” X 21 ⅝” X 34 ⅝” ($99)

Koppla 3 Outlet Power Strip 19 ¾” ($4.99 for two pack)

2x Hemma Cord Set, Black 15’ 5” ($7.00 each)

(IKEA site only has white showing up now, black was available in-store)

2x Luftmassa Lamp Shade 10” ($17.99 each)

2x GE 9 Watt BR30 Balanced Full Spectrum Bulbs ($9.98 each)

That fact aside, how heavy is your bike? These hooks work great, and barely leave a hole (about as thick as no. 2 pencil lead). A tiny bit of spackle would cover it almost instantly.

They also hold up to 100lbs. While I wouldn't want to put that to the test with a bike, I would with two or three of them so the weight is spread amongst them.

I've used them in my house to hang pictures and a mirror, they work like a charm.

I use something like these and hang them in the shower to dry. You can get them at a local hardware store, Target, Walmart, etc. for pretty cheap. You just want them to dry all the way in between uses and this is the best way that I have found.

Honestly, the shapes and types don't matter that much because they all have worked the same for me. It's up to you which one you get. I pick up whichever is cheapest when I checkout as a small thing to throw in my cart.

I've use mine for 2-3 months. You'll see that the shape starts to deteriorate and it's not as smooth all the way around. That's when you'll want to throw it out. If you don't give your sponge a chance to dry all the way, you'll probably want to get rid of it sooner.

u/Norther_Winslow · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace
u/crimsonskunk · 1 pointr/DIY

I use these hercules hooks. They leave a hole about the size of a small nail but you can hang quite a bit of weight from them.

I know you said no holes, but I wouldn't trust any adhesive to hold any significant amount of weight.

u/Aspirant_Fool · 1 pointr/techsupport

Move your monitor to whatever position will require the most available cable. Gather a little bit of slack at a fixed point on the mount, and zip-tie it in place. Now, when you move your monitor around, you'll know you always enough slack in the cable to avoid tugging on it.

You could also add something on the monitor side, e.g. a right-angle connector in the port, and/or something like this with a rubber band around the hook and the cable to help it stay in position and avoid movement perpendicular to the plane of the port.

u/LcbZzVd3fS · 1 pointr/microgrowery

The lip isn't huge, small enough that even the smallest of binder clips can get over it. I'd be concerned about drilling holes in the pots for the simple reason that I have a tendency to move these suckers around a lot and I would be concerned about the pot cracking.

Hmm....

I wonder if there would be some way to affix holes along the side of the pot.

Edit: Maybe command strips along the lower portion of the planter where they wouldn't be inclined to catch onto other stuff? Hmm...

u/stopthebefts · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

I use Christmas light clips/hooks for dangly earrings and necklaces, because I can just stick them to the wall and peel them off without damaging the paint. I also use tackle boxes (for fishing) and empty heart-shaped chocolate boxes for studs and smaller earrings.

u/leanstotheleftabit · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

Gotta go with 3M hooks. They come in several different styles, like wire or jumbo.

I have a few lined horizontally across a wall. That's where I put cloth grocery bags or such. Easily accessible, but out of the way and organized.

If you only have one or two bags, put a big coat hook or this thing near the doorway and call it a day.

I didn't go overly compact, but I did buy a cheap hard shell carry on bag from amazon and some Kaizen foam. Tore out the innards of the carry on bag and cut out slots for headset, touch controllers cameras and even a slot for my 1080 for the times that I don't need to bring a computer, but the computer at the destination needs a better card.

It accompanied me on 6 flights so far.
Here's a link to an image of it before being completed. It lacks the Video card slot. I also added some command wire hooks on the top and bottom inside of the camera half and ran two bungie cords between them to hold the cameras down.

u/blinnlambert · 1 pointr/lifehacks

I used to set my headphones on my desk, but I've had the unfortunate outcome of getting grease stains that seep into my notepads. I'm not a super sweaty guy but I wear these ear cans all the time at work. Sweat stains are inevitable. I ended up buying one of those under cabinet banana hangers and it's been one of the best investments for my work life.

u/Arasthel · 1 pointr/headphones

There's also the option of using this banana hanger on your wall.

u/PM_ME_CORGI_PUPPIES · 0 pointsr/Arcade1Up

get a thin piece of wood and mount the converter to that, then use strong double sided adhesive to mount the piece of wood to the back of the monitor. That is what I did and it works really well.

I recommend something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Command-Refill-Strips-Packaging-GP021-36NA/dp/B0751S46TS/ref=sr_1_9

You can get it in different sizes. They are super strong, but you can easily remove them if you ever need to move the mount or decide to redo your mod in any way. They are also super useful for a lot of different things around the house.
