Sure happy to help you out.I would definitely recommend the ASUS FX502VM-AS73 15.6-inch Full HD Gaming Laptop, with Windows 10 15.6,There are two main hardware aspects of this laptop which you will definitely be pleased of an exigent gamer. Its CPU, from the 7th generation of intel chips and its GPU from the GeForce 10 series of video cards. The i7-7700HQ processor gives excellent results while gaming or working with complex software using this laptop. Now, the GPU. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 is one of the fastest currently available for laptops. It guarantees high FPS on your favorite games, using the latest technologies created by the brand. It has 16 GB RAM DDR4. I consider this the ideal amount for gamers, as well as for users willing to use demanding software, like CGI software, compilers, and multi-tasking in general.Storage capacity is also a great thing about this laptop. It comes with a 128 GB solid state drive, and also a 1 TB hard drive disk running at 7200 rpm. It weighs 4.9lbs comfortable to carry around.

Okay.. For overwatch, a low end dedicated graphics card is recommended. This Acer Aspire E 15 if you are okay with it's 5 pounds weight , would be a perfect pick for you as a light gamer and college student. It has decent performance specs, good build quality and importantly, a fantastic 12 hours battery life. It will allow you to complete your college tasks in addition to running Overwatch very well.

Thank you a lot for your recommendation, I know that Laptops are subpar compared to a gaming pc in general I tend to play games as I've been a gamer since I was a child but I move around a lot in the world and I rather buy my own place before I build my own customized pc for gaming.

What games? League of Legends, Dota, Sc2, WoW etc.. I really don't care much about graphics but more about gameplay aslong the game runs fluidly and steady without it lagging due to frame drops I'll be content!

I like the laptops with the 15'' screens, I spent sometime yesterday scouring the internet and I managed to find this one and after reading it it seems great. What do you think about it? : Click here!

If you're looking to play Minecraft on the laptop you will need a windows pc.

Here are two extremely inexpensive options both at $250. They are almost exactly the same, but have a few key differences.

Both have 15.6" 1366x768 screens, Intel Celeron N2830 processors, HDMI ports, and 500 GB hard drives.

Dell Inspiron:

Has excellent 6.5 hour battery life.

Weighs only 4.7 pounds.

Has no USB 3.0 slot.

Acer Aspire:

Has two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0.

Excellent build quality.

Has lesser, but still very good, 4.5 hour battery life.

Weighs 5.3 pounds.

Conclusion:

Unless you search through used laptops or deal websites you're going to find a bunch of laptops that are almost identical at your price point. If you're willing to give up minecraft you can take a look at chromebooks which will lose functionality, but gain battery life and portability. You might even be able to find a chromebook for under $200. Either way you can't really go wrong.

If you're interested in keeping your model rather than getting a different one, this replacement screen should work: https://www.amazon.com/AU-OPTRONICS-B156HAN01-2-SUBSTITUTE-REPLACEMENT/product-reviews/B00JMM89NC/

Same with this one. 72% NTSC, but it isn't known which specific model LaptopScreen will ship without asking them. All they guarantee is that it will be IPS and 72% NTSC, and compatible. https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/LP156WF6(SP)(B1)/

Predator Helios display is already better than the ASUS FX502VM, but the color saturation isn't as good as ideal, and the light bleed issues you have can be disappointing.

I would look at y510 with dual 755m's config. As long as your stay plugged in you'll be good. It is well under your budget.

Have you looked at the Acer Predator Helios 300?
6-Core i7, 16 GBddr4, GTX1660ti, excellent screen and so forth for $1200, €1070

You would most likely have to disassemble the screen to get to the back of the casing in order to pop it out. I'd say to just cover it with a piece of vinyl.

You could get some in plain black or get a carbon fiber pattern which I think would look nice.

Thanks for the comment Lewis.

When posted this i just looked at the specs. In that i mean like the basic not the generation or how high the number is. I still have no idea what the difference between a 1660ti and 1650ti. What i mean is i understand the higher the number the better but not really sure performance wise.

I talked to people on the discord and they helped me decide what laptop to get and how to solve me problem.

I am going to get the Helios 300 with a M.2 Sabrent 1TB SSD and a Heatsink for the SSD.

Not really, if its gets too hot the PC should shut down. If you use a desk often cooler master makes some laptop stands with fans in the bottom. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002SGATH8?pc_redir=1405565835&robot_redir=1

I've noticed a lot of 1 reviews saying similar issues about the screen. Tbh I have some bad trauma dealing with HP support screwing up a laptop screen repeatedly so I really don't want to go through that again because $100 says if I have to send the laptop back, they'll send the same one unchanged with "cannot reproduce the problem" or send me another defective one.

The reviews on the ASUS machine https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thpcgaha-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B01N9QKYZ9&linkId=55c045bb8445f6c70f90ee0b15455c6f

have a higher 5
and 4 concentration than the Acer, but not by much. The 1, 2, and 3 reviews for it seem to indicate the fans are in an awkward position, low battery life, and graphical errors.

Hard to know how likely I am to get these sorts of problems when I receive my machine. I'm not looking for a project... I'd just like a computer that games and works. Think maybe I should reopen my search? xD Or roll the dice with one of these? How realistic are my standards? I was really hoping in 2017 laptop tech would be less slapdash by now so I could avoid all the voodoo magic involved in circumventing random unexplainable issues.
