I have a disabled left hand It not fully disables but I do have nerve damage and problems with twitch gaming. But I did have a one handed controller to play rpgs with back in the day. Now thanks to playing pc and having a razer naga things are a lot easier for me.

I believe you can also do this with a DexDrive, though your PC will need an archaic COM port. You'll also need to use something like PSXGE to convert the save after transferring. Further conversion may be required to get it into a compatible format for the PSP. I've done the reverse before (PSP->PS1) for Final Fantasy 9 saves and it seemed to work OK.
There's also a method to do this if your PS2 is soft-modded. You can basically setup the PS2 as an FTP server, then you login and copy the save file off the card. (Edit: Or just copy locally on the PS2 from the memory card to a USB flash drive) Here is a tutorial. It would be a lot of effort for it. If you can afford the DexDrive, that would probably be the best route.

Totally low budget headset I was using for long time - Ozone Rage ST (~40$). But this one is loose in head size - good, if you have glasses, bad if you are moving your head a lot. And you need additional Jack cable to make micro and headphones on one Jack.
Or the best of them all - HyperX Cloud (model I, not II). I'm using this now, a lot of people in fact are using these (mostly model II, but they are more expensive because of sound card you don't need). This one is for 79$, sometimes cheaper if you are lucky with sale. The nice thing is, that you can buy parts for them - for example, if you broke the micro, you can buy the new one, don't need to buy new headphones. Oh, and this one has 2in1 small Jack cable to make micro and headphones on one Jack.

I would recommend not playing Silent Hill 1 on PS3 as it is quite buggy in parts. If you can get a PS1/PS2 to play it on that would be the way to go. I would definitely urge you to get a physical copy for this one. Looks like you can get it for about $25 on Amazon.
For Silent Hill 2 and 3 you are absolutely correct that the PS2 versions are the way to go (though the PC versions are quite good as well). For Silent Hill 2 be sure to get the Greatest Hits/Director's Cut version as it has more content than the standard release.

Yes, Book of Memories is only playable on the Vita. Personally I'm waiting for the Vita price to drop enough that I can justify buying it for just one game but they're still going for like $150.

Final Fantasy7 was amazing. One of the best games ever. Go get this game and a PlayStation, even if you have never played any other Final Fantasy game, you will still have blast.

Sounds like your TV is using the fastest type of deinterlacing for a 480i signal possible, which is called bob-deinterlacing.
bob is good in terms of input lag, but bad in terms of picture quality.
Options to mitigate this issue: get a CRT TV, get a good external upscaler that's built for this purpose. Or mod the PS2 and force 480p or even higher 1080i, which would have so little shake that it would be barely noticeable.

It will take the best possible quality RGB SCART signal from the PS2, then convert it to a HDMI signal. They do the deinterlacing themselves, and the picture shouldn't be bobbing.
It will be a massive picture quality bump over the standard RCA cables too.

If you still feel the desire to get into the series, I'd recommend you do whatever you can to play the first game. You can find it on the PSN store but if that option isn't available then there are plenty of cheap used copies on amazon. If you can get past the dated graphics and controls, you'll find it has the same formula that made 2 and 3 so awesome.

My gaming knowledge is really limited only to Nintendo products, though I'm hoping to change that. I am really looking forward to Pokemon XY, though I don't know if they'll even mention any new info. So glad to have come across this thread! I too have a smaller noggin and just ordered the PS4 HyperX Cloud! based on the recommendations in this thread. I already have a headset from the Microsoft store specifically for my Xbox1 which fits my head fine, but it has a proprietary plug that I cannot use for anything else. Only thing to add is don't get a Corsair headset if you have a small head. I have to return the HS60 that I bought because it is way too big and made my jaw hurt.
I bought a hdmi cable for the ps2 that dident upscale that left the picture 4:3 found out i couldent play my ps1 games with it, then I bought the pond cable it forces a 16:9 aspect ratio thats not great, then i found out there's a hdmi cable now that has a switch to change the aspect ratio so the image isent stretched on non widescreen games like all ps1 and most ps2 games are.

You fell victim to dealers overhyping rarity...which happens way too often to a lot of people, so nothing against you. It is the reason prices are so high on games that are just plain and simple not rare or monetarily valuable. I just wish more people armed themselves with knowledge and stopped letting dealers shaft customers so often.

Looking around, it's pretty easy to find PS2 memory card readers meant for the PS3, and I think those might work for PS1 memory too (although I'm not positive). Some of the prices for those on Ebay look a little crazy though. This would be the really old-school answer, if you have a way to get the software off of the floppy disks, and connect something with a DB9 serial connection to your computer.
My good sire! I would recommendth the Gamesir AVX I believe it is called! It around a 100 buckos but it’s a great deal for sure! It is half a keyboard and half a mouse. This is done to take up less space and to be more comfortable. A link to the truly incredible device!

Even new model TVs these days typically have at least one set of composite and/or component inputs; If not the actual RCA plugs on the TV itself, they usually connect via a breakout adapter that they include with the TV.
If you have none of the above and HDMI is your only option, you can get a powered HDMI adapter for the PS2's AV output instead.

Its really up to sony to support it, i know that microsoft has fully supported mouse and keyboard for the xbox. however there are things you can buy to simulate a mouse and keyboard on ps4.

I've been really wanting to do this too. You can get V and VI for PS1 in a combo pack on Amazon for like 10 dollars. Both are amazing. And if you love FFVII and like 3rd person shooters I would say give Dirge of Cerberus a chance, I really enjoyed it; but I could see why a lot of people didn't care for it.

Alright guys. Sony fucked up. Not everybody uses their PC's for gaming, some of us use our PC's to create, make something meaningful to ourselves and other's, ie. not wear down our motherboards by constantly overclocking our systems through these resource hogs that produce nothing but a brief, if fleeting, good time. See, I was debating whether or not even bringing this up was a waste of time, but if it gets any number of you to think for one moment how petty you're being, taking the time of day to hate on a corporation that you're obviously avoiding, then this is worth the hit in downvotes. Get this, guys. I checked my bank account to see if any money was missing (because, in case you might have guessed, I'm a proud owner and user of a PS3), and not only was it all there, but, I shit you not, I have no reason to make this up, I found a $5 charge on the 18th to the Playstation Store that I'd forgot about. Yes, it was my purchase, and the amount I put in should tell you that it was a small purchase, for an add-on to a game. The reason I bring this up is, Sony is saying that between the 17th and the 19th is when they were stealing the credit card information. So here, I have actual tangible proof (not this speculation over previous passwords) that my account is safe. But I'll bet you don't feel any better now, do you? Because this has just taken away your reason to flame on Sony.
Let's look at a few other points that you guys have overlooked because of your unearned indignation:
