As for some android originals, I have really enjoyed some of the stuff Amazon Game Studios has put out. They limit availability to Kindle devices, unfortunately, but if you have a Kindle you can play it there or back it up and copy it to another non-Kindle device where it also works fine.

I don't think we can attribute development time as the problem.
If you are a fan of RPGs and humor, I can't suggest The Bard's Tale highly enough. It's a full up game with rather wonderful graphics, absolutely filled with RPG tropes and "5th wall" moments between the main character and the narrator. I'm about halfway through the game, and I think this is the most interested I've ever been in a game on android. I get excited every time I have a spare few minutes to put into the story.

There's a pretty neat app available for the Fire for reading comics. It pans from frame to frame, rather than trying to show a whole page at a time (though you can do that too if you want). I think it works really well.
Sorry about that. They seem to have changed the link to a mobile one. It was working earlier when I grabbed them, and I double checked the reddit submission when I posted too, but now I have the same problem as you. Try just the individual pages, they're still free:

Total Commander
https://www.amazon.com/C-Ghisler-Total-Commander/dp/B00H4IHJ8M
When I saw the title I thought you were referring to the mobile game, http://www.amazon.com/inXile-entertainment-The-Bards-Tale/dp/B008S3EJSU (can't say how good it is but it has good reviews).
My friend and I were talking about the Bard class recently actually. I thought it was sad that their role of a support mage was turned into other classes like Mystic (TERA). I recently rolled a bard in D&D and it was a lot of fun, and there are ways to spec an offensively oriented bard...would be interesting to see an MMO try it again.
I have a 2012 Kindle Fire. The Comixology app is available in the Amazon market. I've used that to buy/download/read a number of comics on the Fire. I'm not a huge comics guy, so I don't know how up-to-date Comixology is (i.e., do they offer new releases weekly like comic stores do?) You can probably browse comixology.com and get a feel for what they offer when. Additionally, any comics you can buy via Amazon should work natively in the Fire. I have a few I've bought from there (again, older issues).
I also have a few comics in PDF format that I've transferred to the Fire. There's a $3 app called ComiCat that can read PDFs, as well as the other CBR, CBZ, etc. formats. So if you get your digital comics from somewhere else, you should be able to transfer them to the Fire and read them via this app.
Hope that helps some.
Edit: Just noticed you said "free comics and manga". If you get your free books from elsewhere and they're in standard formats (PDF, CBR, CBZ) then you should be able to download them to your computer, then transfer them to the Fire and read them with the app I mentioned above. If you're talking about finding pirated copies of books, I have no idea. Sorry.
Not to be a tech snob, but if you're on a mobile device, why not check out a Reddit client vs. using your browser, here's a very good one, and the link via Amazon store for your Kindle;

Possibly, but only if you click this link

The game is a fun mix of third person shooters and tower defense, exclusive for the amazon Fire TV and runs only on it, I had to mod the game to make it work on Android phones, so the normal mode is bugged and monsters have too much HP but hard mode works normally. The game works with any gamepad too, no fire tv gamepad required
It may be related to something like this:
https://www.androidpit.com/this-is-why-you-should-not-use-es-file-explorer
Two Amazon-approved apps that I think are essential for FireTV are Downloader and Total Commander.
If you get both, there is little need for ES File Explorer.
For less messy amazon links you can extract the part after "/dp/" in

Once you have ESPN+ you can watch other stuff as part of the 1 year subscription, including UFC Fight Night stuff like Shevchenko vs Carmouche 2 tomorrow. Also next time you want to buy one of the UFC Pay Per View events, you will already have ESPN+, so you'll only pay $59.99 next time.
I write regular articles on this stuff, so I am confident in these details. My article on 241 hasn't published yet, but it should go up on Sunday or Monday. I won't link it directly since that's be self promotion. But I do a complete rundown monthly for each PPV to make the process super easy. DM me if you need more help.
I'd like to give you some alternate advice on the Kindle Fire. Unless you plan on rooting it to have default android, the Comixology app is your best bet for getting comics on it.

I can't figure out how to link directly to the Android store, but it's in the sidebar on r/redditisfun

there are three different torrents here, but they are probably .cbr format. I would just download a .cbr reader for your fire. I use comicat on mine www.amazon.com/Meanlabs-Software-ComiCat/dp/B004UBB1HQ it works pretty well.
another alternative if nothing else works is using the "total commander" app. it will remain listed in the recent apps.
install it and launch kodi/spmc. then as long as you do not close or restart the firetv/app, kodi/spmc will be the selected option the next time you launch total commander.
link to app on amazon appstore.
this to me is a better alternative than going to settings, managaged installed apps, LOADING APP TIME, scrolling down to kodi, enter, lauch app.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0174XA4JC/ref=apps_sf_sta
There are quite of bit of YouTube videos on how to install it. Mods work with it, and I beat it 2 times on my phone.
If you dont have luck installing this you can try out the Android L keyboard. It's just as fast as the google keyboard, except it looks cooler.
I'll be trying these streaming links tonight. I might have to cast from my iphone using "tv cast for firetv" if I can't get pluto or one of the mentioned apps to work.
I actually really like the Android L Keyboard, or Swiftkey.
If you want to try something weird try Minuum. It's a cool idea, I just couldn't move to something that didn't have swipe functionality.
you get it on Amazon Apps now...Android L Keyboard

I use it and it's seriously the best app for reading CBRs on a tabled ever.
If you haven't rooted/installed Android Market, here is a reader from the Amazon Market that I have used successfully on the Fire: ComiCat. While I have rooted mine and installed the Android Market stuff, this app worked before I did all that.
I have the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, so I can't speak to the size of the 7". That said I use ComiCat for my cbr files (and my Pathfinder PDFs too :)). It's a great interface for reading comics.
Can you add it to your fire tv from here?
If you can't, there is a Kodi add-on
There is also r/lazyman but if you're already paying for it, you might as well use it
Again, it's the regular ESPN app, not a special ESPN+ app.

I don't know that you can. Don't see it on either Android or Kindle. Searched help and found this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201614430
You can listen to Prime Stations from your music library on the Amazon website and Amazon Music for PC & Mac. Just open the Prime Music tab and select Prime Stations. Pick a genre and select a station to start continuously streaming Prime songs from that category.
Nothing about the app. Yep, won't work. Amazon Music Player requires full Flash. Tried both Chrome and Dolphin browsers on my Kindle, both times got a flash popup. Clicked on it, sent me to Adobe and it said device not compatible. You can choose the station, the player looks like it is there, but where the song should be it says "No songs playing"
I thought maybe you can add the station to your Prime Music from the computer, but all I can see is adding individual songs to your library.
OK, as an option, find a playlist you like. If you add the playlist to your library, you can access that through the app. Prime Playlists are under any playlists you have created. At least on Kindle, don't see it on my older Android phone. I may not have the most current app there though, need to check.
There is a newer app: http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Music-with-Prime/dp/B004FRX0MY/
Don't see anything about stations, but I can't install it to check.
Can't see it either on my Nexus 5
Edit. Found it! Sorted it by new apps of the past 30 days searched for crossy road and found it at the bottom of the list.

Edit 3. Holy fuck this game is addictive. Back to playing I go!
Here it is on US Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Grand-Theft-Auto-Chinatown-Wars/dp/B00R4YS50M/
I'm quite addicted to Crossy Roads. Pretty fun game better than Flappy Bird.
I purchased it on my computer by just going to amazon.com in Chrome and searching for it. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XDD7GYT/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_U_x_CmDYDbYV0MRTT
I think it warned that I don't have a compatible device, but it still let me purchase it.
I haven't tried these methods, but from what I've seen you should be able to pull this off through either the Kodi machine or the Fire TV. There are apps/addons for both which claim to allow you to stream any video (same as a Chromecast would).

I'm interested as well. Amazon Fire TV just got the app. Wondering if anyone can get the apk?

Download JK3-Touch, has full controller support. Copy the files from your Jedi Academy install location (eg Steam folder) to the location it tells you to on your TV and you're away.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beloko-Games-JK3-Touch/dp/B0174XA4JC
I actually bought mostly PC ports (Bejeweled 2 is free right now! And I kinda like fussing around on my tablet playing Plants vs Zombies, even though I have the PC version too).
But of the non-ports, I recommend: The Room, and the Room 2. Gorgeous and incredibly well-designed puzzle games. Amazon only has the kindle versions but if you're not against spending money on Google play instead of using coins, you can get non-kindle versions there. If you install Google Opinion Rewards, that's a decent way to get some spare change in your google play account in exchange for answering a few questions.
I also really enjoyed The Bard's Tale. I was a bit skeptical of playing an RPG on a tablet, but it worked out quite well.

For me the Netflix app frome Amazon-App shop fixed the problem. The version you can download here runs an older release

https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Music-with-Prime/dp/B004FRX0MY
This should work.
Cheers,
You need to use mouse toggle to help with this.
Mouse Toggle is not easy to see, but you can make it work. When you get the config file page, start at the upper right. Get there by hold the the up and right on the directional pad for about 5 seconds. You have to play around with this until you see a selection light up. Once you can see that, work your way to the menu on the left.
I suggest installing Total Commander as that may help with any permission issues on copying the config. I was able to make it work a few times last week on a few more firesticks. Thanks to Alex from this post.
Hope this helps. I have done about 15 firesticks now. It can be tedious to work with Mouse Toggle, but it gets the job done.
ComiXology is what i have on my kindle, you can buy some main stream comics off of it. Was reading Invincible for a long time on my iphone, and i love reading it on my kindle. Don't have to zoom in and read panel by panel anymore.
Yeah you should be able to find it there. If not here's a link for it on Amazon. Unfortunately it isn't a free app but it's the best one you can find for viewing CBZ comic files in my opinion.
> I had such hopes for Amazon games.
Why? They've tried game development before and had mediocre results.
The ESPN app is available for FireTV:

love the only review on that app. "Got to rate this low and assume that it isn't legit software because I just phoned the NHL.TV support line and they told me that the FireTV & FireTV Stick were unsupported devices."
You're welcome, good luck with it. Some more thoughts also --
a - Re. Amazon Music. If Google Play is preventing you from installing Amazon Music, try installing the APK directly from APK Pure or APK Mirror or through the Amazon Appstore (the last option may require you to first install the general Amazon app on your phone).
b - Re. mirroring. You mentioned your phone has a "mirrorshare" button/setting. What happens when you push it? Do you see a (empty) list of devices it can mirror to? Or do you get an error or nothing? (Also, is it labeled as "multi-screen" If so, I assume it should mirror successfully to smart TVs with mirroring and to Chromecast ?)
c - Do you have any smart TVs that support screen mirroring? Your phone may be able to mirror to them, just to test out your phone's capabilities.
d - Microsoft's miracast Wireless Display Adapter gets a lot of love for easy screen mirroring. So if you have to choose between Chromecast and Microsoft's stick, Microsoft's may be a better fit for you.
I can send you the APK (own the SHIELD and Nexus Player) plus any other one(s) you want. Can you send me Showtime Anytime and Watch ESPN from the Fire TV in return?
