There are a lot of versions now: tampons, sunscreen tubes, and bracelets!

I have used the first two and they work fine, except the tampons only hold like half a shot.

u/Fedwardd · 14 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

With the help of some of these , I just put two on my waistline by my crotch area and another two by my chest. ✌️

for olive oil i use those flexible plastic flasks that are made for smuggling booze, don't see why it wouldn't work for honey too. the 16oz size weighs .4 oz, not sure about the smaller one but it would probably be hard to beat

What kind of flask are you looking for? A steel hip flask is obviously the best choice for discreet drinking, as it fits nicely in a pocket and is extremely durable. Theres also something of a market for ornate round flasks, like this one. Some of these can be quite beautiful, but they aren't very good for drinking discretely, as they are ornate enough to catch peoples' eyes and you can easily lose the cap if you aren't careful.

If you're buying something for a real aficionado, though, the only way to go is a proper glass flask. These have the obvious disadvantage of being quite fragile, but they don't contaminate the taste of the liquor like metal flasks sometimes can. If your buddy likes to enjoy his alcohol, I'd say to look for a glass flask with a leather case, something like this.

As far as where to buy them - if you're looking for a steel hip flask or a basic round flask, Amazon has got you covered. If you're looking for an ornate round flask or a glass flask, though, eBay is probably the only place to find them.

u/FakeWalterHenry · 4 pointsr/mead

First, Bravo because that's a good way to honor your Fathers Memory.
Secondly, if it were me I would decant it into something classy like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Bormioli-Rocco-Selecta-4-Ounce-Decanter/dp/B002IT6X4I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457524738&sr=8-1&keywords=whisky+bottle

However, if keeping it in the bottle is really important then I would: 1. Strain it into a temporary container.
2. I would get a thin long piece of metal and stab the remaining cork until it broke up.
3. I would rinse the bottle with a little purified water and use a funnel to put the water back in.
Hope this helps

u/Jenkins6736 · 2 pointsr/Coachella

Get these for an extra layer of security.

It's silly because they typically don't seal sunscreen bottles, but I highly doubt a security guard spending more than a few seconds searching you when there are a thousand people behind you eagerly waiting to get in as well.

u/Jewbaccafication · 2 pointsr/alcohol

Usually, yeah. A good middle ground if you don't want that price point are the dark morello cherries from Aldi's.

A reasonably-priced set of reusable cocktail picks can also up your presentation game and also let you get around putting in effort to fish your garnish out of the glass yourself.

u/satriales856 · 2 pointsr/alcohol

If you only use it for high proof alcohol it will be fine. If you put some kind of high sugar, sticky liquor in there or some other drink like fruit juice, i could see it getting funky, but if it’s booze, nothing is growing in there. Just clean the threads and the cap off every so often and when you switch alcohol, let some soapy water soak inside for a little bit.

Or, alternatively, plain steel flasks are pretty cheap. You could use it for the trip and toss it.

Still, you could go with something like this.

check amazon, here's the first hit when I searched for decanter. Just try & get one with a tight fitting stopper. Or you can possibly macguyver something to get a tight seal & prevent air exposure. But for mixers, you really need something fancy & decorative? Guess I understand the impulse to class up the joint

Another good idea, buy a bottle of Bulleit, then when you're done drinking it remove the label & use it to hold other whiskey, bottle is great

u/deathbyshoeshoe · 2 pointsr/BravoRealHousewives
u/Ghigs · 2 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

It's going to be much easier if you get a soda siphon. You don't need to get a sodastream or anything fancy.

https://www.amazon.com/Innovee-Soda-Siphon-Ultimate-book/dp/B01E3OJ7U2/

This just uses the cheap mini canisters.

If you don't get that, you are going to somehow need to build something that can withstand up to 200psi+, likely two containers connected together so you can generate CO2 in a separate one. 200psi is some serious pressure and you'd really want to use proper fittings and rated line, which will wind up costing more than just buying a soda siphon.

No worries, I don't use a Crystal Decanter. When I first started looking for a decanter, I discovered all of the lead concerns. Thankfully I found a lead-free, non crystal, glass decanter. It looks great, and it was really cheap. I can vouch for its quality, and thankfully it has gotten even cheaper in the last few years (was $40 when i bought it)

  1. A difficult question, actually. Because see, I have one group of things I would like to do, and something I need to do, if I had that much money. I would like to upgrade my PC, buy myself some games and stuff, and then blow at least a thousand on (late) Christmas gifts for all my friends, and then probably just save the rest. But If I actually had that much, I really need to have some serious dental work done, so I would spend a large portion of it on that.

  2. Another difficult question, because judging on your wish list, we seem to have very different tastes. So something I would want would probably be of little interest to you. If it has to be something purely decorative, I would want this, though there are non-decorative things that I'd want much more. But for you... hmm... lemme look through your wishlist... this looks pretty amusing. I say you should grab that for yourself.

  3. Er... Gonna skip this one. I know nothing about fashion...

  4. I'm just gonna shill my friend's book again. It's a sci-fi action series and it's not bad IMO. He's currently working on the second book as we speak.

  5. Like I said above... I reeeeally don't know anything about fashion so... I'm gonna skip this one...

  6. What's with all the fashion questions? ;_; I invoke my third skip.

  7. I'm gonna vote for /u/nacho_cheezus, because as far as I can tell, I've given him the most upvotes out of anyone on this sub. So if I've given him that many upvotes, I say he did something right!

I burn through three with a 5 gallon keg, but that's after my learning curve.

Thankfully, they're cheap: http://www.amazon.com/100-Leland-Soda-Chargers-Seltzer/dp/B00304SLAO/ref=pd_sim_k_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0DNJD38JD58GANSWQWQB

And if this is intended for party purposes, keep people the fuck away from the co2 injector. Folks like to get trigger happy. Personally, I just pop it off and keep it in my back pocket. Mind you, that's the whole apparatus. If you take off JUST the injector and leave the gas connector there, you'll offgas the keg.

u/Farty_McFartFart · 1 pointr/woodworking

Not OP but I've seen similar swing top flasks on Amazon.

u/dudecephus · 1 pointr/DIY

For the small space you're working with, this is a pretty great renovation. If this were my bar, though, I'd take the doors off to make it look less cramped.

Also, pro-tip: For the cheaper liquors that you probably drink more often (if you're anything like me), get a few glass decanters. Pour the cheaper stuff like the Evan Williams in there and get rid of the bottle. The bar will look much classier if you keep the more expensive liquors on display in their respective bottles, but for the cheaper stuff, you can make it look fancy in glass decanters.

Chances are, when your guests ask for whiskey and you pour it from a nice decanter, they won't know it's Evan Williams and they'll assume you gave them some fancy stuff.

Look into a few like this. It's only $12, and you'll save that money back when guests reach for the decanter instead of getting grabby with your good shit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IT6X4I/ref=abs_brd_tag_dp?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Totally looks like a CO2 cartridge for a Soda Charger. I own one to make fizzy mixed drinks at my home bar:

u/cryospam · 1 pointr/mead

Headspace doesn't matter if you use CO2 to blanket it.

You can get it pretty cheaply on Amazon. Buying a case of One Shots is MUCH cheaper than buying wine preserver. One can of wine preserver contains about 8.2 grams of CO2 for like 9 dollars...the one shots are 8 grams of CO2 and are 40 cents each if you buy 100 of them. 2 of the one shots (or cans of wine preserver) will fill a carboy. To dispense them, get a Whipped Cream dispenser.

u/K_Rayner · 1 pointr/funny
u/TheYoungGriffin · 1 pointr/alcohol

Not sure if this is what they're talking about but I found this on amazon by searching plastic hip flask. Though I gotta reccomend you just go with a classic metal flask. Like others have mentioned, keeping alcohol in there keeps it pretty clean, plus you can't beat the durability, especially if you're doing a high intensity sport like skiing.

This will be my first Voodoo so idk about prices there but our group used these things called slick shotz at Roo this year to sneak some of our own in from the campground. They worked amazing and didn’t leak or anything. For $25 you get everything you need.

I've prebatched CR#2 before with no noticeable negative effects. I make them in these and keep them in the fridge until I need them:

http://www.amazon.com/Bormioli-Rocco-17-Pocket-Flask/dp/B003R0GU0E

I have no idea how you would batch a Moscow Mule, or anything with a carbonated ingredient, other than batching the non-carbonated stuff and bringing cold bottles of the fizzy stuff.

Anything that's all alcohol will do well prebatched, and anything with citrus is fine as long as you limit the exposure to air (hence the bottle in my case).

I've also had success with the Blood and Sand and the Maple Leaf.

u/CounterSanity · 1 pointr/camping

My friends tried this a couple years back for cabrewing. They said it lasted the trip, but ate away at the seams and was leaking by the time they got home.

>I bought my (now ex) girlfriend a similar flask. Too small for my uses, but a cool idea.

Somehow (shipping error) I managed to have two of them, so I kept one and now have a 3oz, a 8oz and a massive one as a door prize that holds half a bottle of wine. I don't know why I'd need to put half a bottle of wine in a flask, but knowing that I can...

u/oldhouse1906 · 1 pointr/cocktails

I use these. They sell the sames ones at Crate and Barrel for the same price if you have as store local to you. They are very solidly build and there are no weld lines or crevices that are annoying to try and clean out.

EDIT: They hold about three large olives with room at the end. Or four with no room except the little ball.

u/Huggerme · 1 pointr/cocktails

Get 3-4 tools;

A Japanese-style jigger or a 50ml graduated cylinder

Ice. (And learn how it is made properly)

A cocktail shaker.

A strainer comes in handy too.

The cheapest way to practice; mix whatever booze you have on hand that is around 80 proof with some form of sugar, (honey, 1:1 sugar-to-water, 2:1 sugar-to-water, agave, Demerara sugar, etc...) and some form of citrus (fresh lime/ lemon juice). Just play around with the ratios of each (booze, citrus, sugar) till you learn how each affects one another.

For beginning bartending, I recommend familiarizing yourself with how alcohol is synthesized, the different distillation processes, and the types of booze from around the world.

From there, look on YouTube.

Buy these, the fact that they are soft-sided means they're more comfortable when jammed down your pants. Wear boxer-briefs so they don't fall out the bottom, wrap them in a large ziplock bag so they're not rubbing on your taint/balls, and then hide them in the front or back. The 32 oz may seem too big, but with a little adjustment they fit no problem. Just wrap a hoodie or flannel around your waist to conceal if you put down the back.
