You don't need to be a homeowner. This can be done with minimal effort and not installing anything permanent

u/map2510 · 36 pointsr/ZeroWaste

This is the one I have. I got them on clearance at target so they were a lot cheaper, but if I ever needed to buy more I would buy this one again. It has a nozzle adjuster so you can position where the stream is and I have never had an issue with water spraying anywhere. My mom bought two different cheaper ones from amazon and they did not have the adjuster and they spray water all over the seat.

I know this wasn't the point of your story, but not many people know that you can attach a bidet to nearly any toilet! I have one similar to this and it's pretty amazing. Even before I was pregnant.

u/MrsMcPineapple · 14 pointsr/ZeroWaste

I got this one. Installation was very straightforward and all the parts you need are included (although a few of the connections were a little finicky and needed some attention before they would work without leaking). Inexpensive and super useful! Ordering from amazon may not be ideal, but sometimes I think the benefits outweigh the cost over time. This can be used both as an actual bidet and it can also be used to clean cloth diapers. I'm really happy with it so far.

u/Lordica · 13 pointsr/RedditForGrownups

Do even more: Get yourself a bidet. Simple or fancy or something in between. It'll save the tush. Also, if you eat lightly the day before you start the cleanse, the whole thing goes easier. It's a lot of fuss over nothing and you get to avoid this type of cancer, at least.

u/dietzombiecake · 12 pointsr/ZeroWaste

I ordered steel straws and a bamboo travel cutlery set https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BFPKFM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and luckily it came in a mylar envelope instead of a huge box with packaging.

I also bought a bidet https://www.amazon.com/Squatty-Potty-Refresh-Toilet-Attachment/dp/B00SLLK6RM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497282018&sr=8-2&keywords=refresh+it+bidet at a discount store for $20. I haven't used toliet paper at my house since I got it! My husband won't use it though...

u/Silverphile · 11 pointsr/Healthyhooha

At first I loved the wipes, but over time I realized I was sensitive to them. (I don’t normally have sensitive skin.)
The best thing I’ve found is a “spray bidet” which you can easily attach to a toilet - cleaning with plain water is ideal! Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A9A9MUO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_BpeECbJEGWHNS

u/bonestamp · 11 pointsr/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

> I'm fully on board for combo units, but I've never seen one in person.

The attachments for your toilet start at about $25.

I've got this one: https://www.amazon.com/Squatty-Potty-Refresh-Toilet-Attachment/dp/B00SLLK6RM?ref_=ast_sto_dp It works well and was easy to install. It's made by the same people who make the Squatty Potty, which I also recommend.

u/littlefitbit · 8 pointsr/BabyBumps

The best thing to do would get it checked out. I would pick up a bidet for sure! (I have this one and & love it) It's a natural way of cleaning and does not irritate the hemorrhoids. Lubes and ointments get expensive after a while and are temporary solutions. Plus, bidets make it a lot easier for pregnant women to reach hard to get places and are great for postpartum.

u/illuxion · 8 pointsr/firstworldproblems

We have a Brondell in the upstairs spare bathroom, A Luxe 185 in the downstairs bathroom, and a Biobidet BB1000 in the master bathroom(it was only $150 on a lightning deal 2 years ago) and both of us prefer the Brondell one. The expensive one has warm water, warm seat and a pulsating stream to free those dingleberries but price isn't worth it, even at $150. Also the Brondell only raises the back of the seat 1/4". The Luxe raises seat height about an inch and the Biobidet raises it about 2 inches which doesn't seem like much but it's enough to feel strange on either of them.

Edit: fixed Luxe 185 link.

u/sierra400 · 7 pointsr/HomeImprovement

Genie Bidet! Got it from amazon. We had the luxe bidet attachment before and it worked great as well but it was a bitch to clean around. We got the genie bidet recently, it is a whole toilet seat, and it’s been awesome. So much easier to keep clean and the parts it came with were quality metal (no plastic!). The seat is slow close and nice quality. I also love it’s super sleek design. It doesn’t have a giant dial sticking out the side or anything, it’s very subtle.

GenieBidet ELONGATED Seat-Self Cleaning Dual Nozzles. Rear & Feminine Cleaning - No wiring required. Simple 20-45 minute installation or less. Hybrid T with ON/OFF Included! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TCN0NP8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Mq4YDbDK87S1T

u/evolutionofafoodie · 6 pointsr/BigBrother

For those who don't want to use wipes but want a clean butt, I highly recommend getting a bidet. This one is fairly inexpensive, doesn't need to be plugged in to power, and you will use so much less toilet paper! https://www.amazon.com/GenieBidet-Seat-Cleaning-required-installation/dp/B00TCN0NP8/ref=sr_1_32

I mean it's so weak if you want water to run upside down and wash away poo sticking on your butt you need a little pressure. Just read some reviews https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/reviews/B01DB8DRNO/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&pageNumber=1

Another device, same problem:

Get a bidet attachment for your toilet! We had one of these pre-pregnancy and it has been a huge lifesaver with all the pooping problems. I put it in bc my SO used to shower after every poop to feel clean, so I figured it would save water. Now I hate pooping in the other bathroom without the water to wash off after. It will change your life!!!

The one we got is like this, and I installed it myself: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01A9A9MUO/ref=mp_s_a_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1474147711&sr=8-33&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=bidet&dpPl=1&dpID=3133aRXnSnL&ref=plSrch

This is why you need one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00TCN0NP8/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
We now might use one roll a week and we have never felt cleaner. These are so awesome.

u/AspieGram · 5 pointsr/bidets

We recently installed the Luxe Bidet Neo 185 Elite Series ($43) and I prefer it over my hugely expensive BioBidet DIB.

The standard round seat that was on the toilet when we bought the house was angled after it was installed, but the seat bumpers arrived the next day and now it sits level and we have no problems.

As far as operation, I really like it a lot. I chose this model because the DIB sprayer is REALLY far back. I have to use the feminine just to wash the backside. The "normal" backside was hits in the crack of the butt and is useless.
The Luxe hits right where it's supposed to. Now, there are two washes: feminine and "normal." Because of the design the two jets are side by side which results in the sprayer being the tiniest bit off center. So one wash will spray your parts a bit to the right and the other one will spray a bit to the left. It's only the tiniest bit, but since you mentioned angles, I thought I would let you know.

We have REALLY high water pressure where we live so we purchased a Luxe Metal T-adapter with Shut-off Valve to reduce the water pressure. That allows us to move the dial about 1/8" for adjustment instead of about 1/32"

The feminine sprayer does go forward all the way and hits ever feminine spot there is. If one doesn't close their legs, a stream of water will shoot out and hit the wall across the room. :/

We have no leaks, the seat no longer sits at an angle and I love it!

Please feel free to ask any specific questions if I missed anything.

u/jorshrod · 4 pointsr/predaddit

So, we looked at all those cloth diaper sprayers and ended up buying an inexpensive bidet attachment that does the same thing but isn't branded as a baby accessory and is way cheaper.

The can is a great idea to catch the splash though. We cloth diapered 2.2 kids. Gave up on the third one after 3 months and just got disposables, too much laundry.

u/pablo_the_bear · 4 pointsr/ofcoursethatsathing

Since people in this thread may now be thinking about how they can actually not use toilet paper, check out a toilet seat bidet. It's got to be one of the best things I've ever bought. It also has a nightlight and heated seat which would be worth for those alone.

u/dogslikebones · 4 pointsr/fatlogic

$29.99 on Amazon.. I have one. I installed it by myself and I am not at all handy. I will never be bidet-less again.

u/thebeginingisnear · 4 pointsr/HomeImprovement

"it" is the adapter that connects the toilet water supply to the bidet. The cheaper units come with a pastic one that works fine for a while but may eventually fail. Here's an example of a metal one

https://www.amazon.com/T-adapter-Shut-off-Connector-Handheld-Polished/dp/B00JIG4AGM/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=bidet+valve&qid=1573656796&sr=8-4

u/Wamobamo · 4 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Buy a bidet attachment for your toilet. No wipes to buy or clog your pipes, and you stay nice and clean. Best $40 ever.

Edit: [This] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPYIK6M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1TRHzb04T8P8Y) is worth getting too to replace the plastic tee that comes with the bidet and give you better flow control.

u/IcyParchment · 4 pointsr/ZeroWaste

Am female, and live with other females.

I got a barebones hose attachment off Amazon for ~$40 last December, and it's been great! As /u/Jennjersnap said, there's definitely a learning curve involved. The hose attachment I have is cold water only and is surprisingly not that bad even during the winter; you may go numb depending on the water temperature, but it does not compare to having cold water down your spine. FWIW, I still use 1 square of TP after rinsing up from #2 to be sure of thoroughness (and flush after #2 before rinsing). Other than that, I just try to aim well enough to not get more wet than necessary, and manage to dry off just fine by putting on clothes. My roommate who uses the bidet dries off with tp, but claims to still use less than before having the bidet.

If you or anyone in your household has mobility issues, I would suggest the style that sits inside the toilet bowl, though I have no experience with them. If you go this route, make sure to get one that has a "guard" that covers the spout when not in use to avoid contamination. Otherwise I believe the hoses are cheaper, generally more durable (make sure to turn them off at the source to avoid flooding!), and have more flexibility in use-- I've even used them to powerwash the bathtub, and they're often used for cloth diaper cleaning.

The best general tip I have is to check diagrams of how the bidet in question is supposed to be angled, cleaned, and otherwise maintained.

Edit: We had the AquaNexis.

u/gemini_jen · 3 pointsr/CrohnsDisease

I bought this one and it was a total game changer.

It doesn't use hot water but it's not freezing (as most of the time it sits in the pipe.) Only problem is you'll only want to have movements at home!

When I was in Jordan many of the toilets had something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Stainless-Bathroom-Handheld-Sprayer/dp/B01A9A9MUO?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_3 It works decently.

I have a Toto C100 at home. You might consider it pricey, but it is well worth the money.

u/holysocks · 3 pointsr/funny

oh I was talking about one of those seat attachment sprays. I grew up where hand held sprays are common in every toilet and was uncomfortable when I first moved to the US.

Cheap one I use does not have heated water, but I can tell you that the butt hole is not actually that sensitive to cold water. I have now used it through 2 winters. This is the best and cheapest life improvement you can add to your life right now.

u/numerica · 3 pointsr/nyc

If you spend more than $30 on a bidet attachment they will most likely come with retractable nozzles. When water pressure is activated, telescoping tube extends, exposing the nozzles. When pressure is removed they hide back up. I have this one, I'm happy with it. Also, cold water is just fine. It's not that cold at all, even in the winter. Run cold water on the inside of your wrist, that's how cold it will feel on your star.

u/k_tiara_von_lobster · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

Bidet! And yes, the two combined have made pooping 3,000% better.

u/EnterPlayerTwo · 3 pointsr/youtubehaiku

Get a separate, metal T valve to put between the bidet hose and the toilet intake (instead of the crappy plastic T that most of those bidet's come with). I have one there and have the pressure turned down almost all the way.

This is the one I got.

u/OMG__Ponies · 2 pointsr/wheredidthesodago

u/NachoCat_ · 2 pointsr/TryingForABaby

I have this one

u/therealmrsbrady · 2 pointsr/YouShouldKnow

It definitely does, yes. I did quite a bit of research before buying and was willing to spend around $100 or so but this specific model had the best overall reviews and added features for females as well, your gf will thank you I'm sure. (Side note, I initially ordered the blue but it looked, idk cheap somehow so I exchanged it for the white only and it looks much, much better, not cheap looking at all.)

A couple suggestions on other things that make a big difference imo for another $20 combined roughly, both recommended by other reviewers as well as a few specific YouTube installation videos (there is one that finally sold me on it, I'll see if I can find that too). A better/more solid and lasting brass, chrome finish T-adapter which also has a shut off and is compatible with this model (the 185 comes with a plastic one and only a few reported leaks and it doesn't have a shut off either and will eventually need to be replaced down the line). As well as toilet seat bumpers, taking into account the bidet only raises the seat a little but enough to not make it feel solid, the bumpers make it feel as it should, 100% solid with them.

The links for you to check out and maybe add to your wishlist (I personally highly suggest them):

Edit: This is the YouTube link where the guy uses the upgraded adapter as well as the bumpers and shows how to install easily too. (You'll see the 185 features that do make a big difference to me.)

For a starter bidet, I'd go with: SlimEdge on Amazon for $35

If you are a CostCo member, go with this one: Elite 3 for $40

Beyond that you are looking at expensive ones that require electric outlets near the toilet. This one is on sale right now at CostCo for $220.

I mean, hair dryers are pretty inexpensive. You wouldn't need a high powered one, (I'm sure that there's a "TIFU by blistering my anus with a blow dryer", so you want to make sure that it has a low or cool setting.)

It would depend on where your outlets are in the bathroom, though! I'm thinking that someone with a bidet wouldn't want an extension cord running across the bathroom. So most of your money would be spent on the wiring and electricity!

You could get the dryer for $25. https://www.amazon.com/Andis-1600-Watt-Mounted-HangUp-30135/dp/B001UE7D3C/ref=sr_1_7?crid=H9JBOT4TF4AY&keywords=hair+dryer+with+holder+wall+mount&qid=1570784518&sprefix=HAIR+DRYER+WITH+HOLD%2Caps%2C725&sr=8-7

The bidet would also be $25

https://www.amazon.com/SlimEdge-Attachment-Electric-Install-Internal/dp/B07CGVBZGL/ref=sr_1_9?crid=154KKOVJ7Z31Q&keywords=bidet&qid=1570784630&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sprefix=BIDE%2Caps%2C711&sr=8-9

So, if you know someone whose handy with electricity, you could have your setup for $50, a pizza and a 12 pack!

[This] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DXE2BEC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_AWKWc7UwM4ovb) is the one I chose. A little shocking at first, but you get used to it.

u/optimist_dreamer · 2 pointsr/clothdiaps

For prefolds I recommend Cloth-eez from Green Mountain Diapers. GMD also has lots of good information about CDing on their page. If you make an order from them you can add a free "How To " Booklet.

I prefered Snappis instead of pins while in newborn sized prefolds. I haven't had to double with the diapers I've chosen. (Prefolds already mentioned and Babee Greens One size fitteds)

I have switched laundry detergents for the whole household. I alternate between Charlies Soap, and Soap Nuts. Depending on what is on sale when I need to buy more. If you don't have a full load of diapers you don't even need a full tablespoon of Charlies Soap powder. No fabric softener needed. If you feel your diapers are a bit stiff try adding white vinegar as fabric softener. But you shouldn't add vinegar to a wash load that has elastics in it, as the vinegar will slowly break down the elastic. I use bac-out to spray the poopy diapers before washing. I line dry all the covers, and line dry when trying to use the sun to naturally treat stains. But usually the prefolds and the fitteds go into the dryer on low.

I have two large wetbags to use at home, alternating when one is in the wash. I have two combination wet/dry bags for the diaper bag.

All diapers have different prewashing instructions, so you should follow the instructions for the diapers you have. Keep in mind if you have any new hemp diapers or inserts they need to be prewashed separately from the other diapers as hemp will release natural oil and you don't want that to get on the other diapers. After the initial few prewashes they should be fine to wash together.

Not necessary but I like using a diaper sprayer after baby is on solids. I use this sprayer and the Spray Pal.

Good luck!

u/xanderificus · 2 pointsr/keto

Try a bidet. I bought one of these (not an affiliate link) around the same time I started Keto and it's been great. One wipe and that's just to dry off.

My poop thing is that keto slowed me right down. From once a day, maybe twice, to about every other day and the occasional need for a fibre supplement.

If you buy a shattaf - many available such as:

Aizhy Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Stainless Steel Sprayer Shattaf Toilet Bidet Shower Head with 49-inch Hose and Bracket Holder https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BLS2HMD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9.pwDbKV7AEGY

And with GENTLE water pressure place nozzle on your anus and let water constantly go up your rectum-don’t force it ofcourse. Set the water temperature to warm or slightly hotter as this helps with the stool softening.

What this will do is soften and break up the hardened stool and let it pass until the whole piece breaks up and expels.

u/lostupac · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

I have a 3 Boss Bidet's installed and I love them! They're non electric, install in 15 minutes and the best price I could find for a dual nozzle (Don't get a single and hot & cold is pointless in America because of the installation process).

u/SureGravy · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Replace the plastic connector with a metal one like this. Not only will it not drip, it will give you the ability to regulate the amount of water that is directed to the bidet.

Please think about including a t adapter that has a control for water pressure. When I first installed mine, it nearly tore my anus off. I installed this and was much happier.

u/nowj · 1 pointr/howto

Is this a "T" shut off? The brass on top going to a sink and the bottom unoccupied position is where the washer hooks up? That would make sense aside from need for "standard garden hose fitting" as questfor17 addressed. Just have never seen a shut off valve "T" - https://www.amazon.com/T-adapter-Shut-off-Connector-Chrome-Bidet4me/dp/B0199ARCAW

u/mikemann55 · 1 pointr/Constipation

You really don’t need to endure this agony, the solution is very simple.

Use a shattaf (water bidet) like this

You use low to medium water pressure (never high) and with warm water, hold the nozzle to your anus opening and gently allow water to enter your rectum.

This will do two things:

  1. Lubricate, moisten and relax the area
  2. break up and hydrate the dry stool making it softer, smoother.

The slow buildup of water in the rectum will also give you an urge to defecate and will help to smoothly push the stool out.

Once you try this, I guarantee you will use it when needed, and never suffer the agony of constipation.

I installed my cheap-o bidet using a T-valve, so I can shut off the water line when it's not in use. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JIG4AGM

I highly recommend the [Boss Bidet](https://www.amazon.com/BIDET-Toilet-Attachment-Cleans-Warranty/product-reviews/B06WP78R7S/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_paging_btm_next_2?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&pageNumber=2) Before purchasing this item, I did quite a bit of research and determined that the Boss Bidet Bold Toilet Attachment was the best among competing products. I like the pull/push knob to activate the bidet and to control pressure, the positive click of the nozzle choice dial and, of course, the sleek and pleasing design of the unit. Installation was a breeze -- I am a 74 year old woman and managed to install the bidet in about 20 minutes. The bidet functions exactly as described by the seller. I am very happy that I bought it and tell my friends and family about it.

Do yourself a favor and don't get the attachment that goes under the seat, get the one that built into the seat. The under seat attachments never fit properly and you'll either have to Macgyver something to get the seat and lid to lay flat, or deal with it stuck open about an inch.

I bought this valve because I knew the plastic one would be a turd. Just don't over tighten, don't cross thread, and do use teflon tape on all fittings.

Mostly need plastic to be moulded to my design, and other parts assembled.

*Braided steel hoses, high pressure faucet valves, these guys

Most don't require electricity. This one, for example. This one is slightly nicer and also requires no electricity. There are also hand sprayer models: I opened the wall and plumbed mine to both the hot and cold so I can wash my ass with warm water. This one just tees off the toilet supply line.

Amazon has a bunch of bidets you add on to the toilet.

If you feel like breaking your lease, and have access to the shutoff, there's this:

edit: I am a dummy and have no idea how toilets work.
