We are in the same boat, Scinic Honey AIO is probably one of my favorite skincare products I've ever tried and I have, like, one application left in my jar.

If you're interested, there are a few listings for it on eBay. I thought about getting another one but I don't know ... I need to find a replacement eventually anyway, so I'm biting the bullet.

I was going to try the CosRx Overnight Honey Mask, but someone said it doesn't even come close to the hydration that Scinic imparts. Plus it only contains propolis, whereas Scinic also contains honey, royal jelly and a bunch of other hydrators and extracts.

Then I thought about trying the Tosowoong Propolis Ampoule, but that one doesn't have the best reviews. 😬 Plus it contains an absolute ton of essential oils.

So I've decided to try the Herbery Earth Honey Lotion, thanks to a couple of lovely members on this sub who have reviewed it and recommended it. ((Shout-out to u/skindevotion))

It contains honey, honey extract, propolis, royal jelly, 2 different kinds of Hyaluronic Acid, collagen, arbutin, aloe vera, licorice and EGF. Based on the ingredients list I think it's promising. I think what made the Scinic Honey so special was the many different hydrators and extracts, and as you can see the Herbery contains A TON of goodies too.

By the way, this is a Japanese product, so when they say "lotion" to us it means "toner." Not to worry, though, this product is quite viscous, like Scinic. Check out the consistency in this video:

https://youtu.be/c3nqYxpzsw8 (at the 30 second mark you can see the consistency.)

You can get it on eBay or on Amazon Jp for around $17 with shipping, if you're interested. It also comes in a huge 300 mL bottle, perfect for generous applications, layering and lotion masking!!

Hope this helps ☺️

ETA: I'm adding this link because I had a bit of a hard time finding it on Amazon Jp since I don't speak Japanese 😌

Using a throwaway for this. OP, if I can be of more help, send a message to this account and I'll give you my regular username so we can message back and forth.

-----------------------

I've dealt with minor to severe body acne since I first developed acne as a teenager (I'm 25 now). I am also a compulsive skin picker. At times I went several days to a week without picking at all (my skin improved immensely those first few days) but when I was feeling particularly stressed or depressed I would have a meltdown. I could spend 30 minutes to an hour picking at my skin nonstop at my worst. I knew it was awful while I was doing it but I simply couldn't get myself to stop. I have no rational explanation for it other than I simply lost control.

Within the past year or two I have more or less gotten it under control. I did essentially what you are attempting to do: "If I could only get rid of the spots, then I wouldn't have anything to pick". I was able to get it under control enough so that I didn't have anything to pick at.

The first part is the hardest. Be mindful of food that can help control inflammation. The antioxidants in green tea are very helpful. I try to drink 2-3 cups a day and apply the teabag directly to the skin on my worst spots (this gets the inflammation under control as well as anything I've found). I also each a small bowl of baby carrots once a day and try to eat pumpkin seeds (zinc) and walnuts (omega 3 fatty acid) as often as I can.

As my diet was supplying my body with the nutrients to help fight the acne from the inside, I was also using topical products to continue to fight it from the outside. I started using Amlactin to try to help unclog my pores. I now believe that my main problem was keratosis pilaris that was only becoming inflamed acne after I picked at it. This lotion goes deep down to gradually unclog the pore (be patient, it takes some time). However, Amlactin doesn't do a particularly good job of taming active acne so it may be best to use it in tandem with another product (these work fairly well for me and they really easy to use). Amlactin is sticky (I only use it at night for this reason) and makes more skin more sensitive to sunlight so be sure to wear a sunscreen if you go this route.

Also, I've recently begun using a derma roller to help with the old scars. But I wouldn't suggest that until you have your acne more under control.

Lastly, something that is very important to me is to keep my skin feeling comfortable. If it's earlier dry or too greasy I'm prone to start picking. Cocoa butter lotion is my preference. I know some don't like cocoa butter because it is comedogenic but it is very soothing. I had problems with cocoa butter creams clogging my skin, but not the lotions. I usually use Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lotion (soothing and moisturizing) or Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Lotion (more soothing and absorbs better, but not very moisturizing).

I hope that helps. Again send me a message if you have any questions.

Here's how you'll get as close as possible. After you step out of the shower:

  1. Towel-dry your hair.

  2. Use a leave-in conditioner like this one. It will act as a heat shield and protect your hair.
  3. Blowdry your hair into position while brushing it in the direction you want using heat.
  4. Once it's dry and in the position you want, add just a little bit of argan oil. You can really get in there an mix it in at the roots and your hair will still fall back into place easily because of step 3.
  5. Now add a small amount of your matte product, and make sure you emulsify it by rubbing your hands together first for an even coat. Do the same thing as the oil. Get in there and coat the roots. Remember, less is more. It's really only needed to provide a bit of texture as your hair is already in position from the blowdrying and softened from the oil. The more you add, the less hold you'll have (as paradoxical as that sounds).

WOO! I LOVE THIS THREAD!

Okay... so I am SO EXCITED to tell you guys about my recent purchases, because I am very acne-prone as well as irritation prone (hello, unmistakable burny feeling from applying witch hazel after a shower!), and I think I have finally struck gold.

So, for years I was using Avene Cleanance cleanser, which worked great but was too much for my skin. It would strip my skin and leave it feeling parched. Every sudsy cleanser was too much and every creamy cleanser left me with a face full of whiteheads. So I stuck with my sudsy, stripping cleansers and just battled the acne that resulted from the stripped skin (yes, acne and especially blackheads CAN result from overly stripped skin!).

That is until last week. After driving all around Houston for this stuff, I resorted to picking it up at my local counter (which was ugh in and of itself, but that had its own thread).

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm.

It is a solid balm that you scoop out with your fingertips and smear on your face. However, it turns silky smooth once it gets warm.

I was originally very leery because it has coconut derivatives. Ingredients:

  • Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Polyethylene, Peg-5 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Water, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol

BUT IT WORKS. I have been using it for ~2 weeks now and I have no breakouts. In fact, I'm going into shark week and I have only had a couple pimples, and they've been teeny tiny. Oh, oh, AND it dislodges clogs! I've noticed a slow decrease of clogs on my clogtacular left cheek. PRETTY AWESOME. Best part though? My skin feels like cashmere silk once I rinse it off (warning: It does take a bit of rinsing, so you'll probably flood the area around your sink if you're any bit like me [seriously, TV commercials LIED to me about splashing your face with water. LIED.]).

SQUEE. I only use it at night (no washcloth -- just fingers!), just using water + a washcloth in the AM now.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT AWESOME REVIEW!

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SX Daily Moisturizing Cream, SPF 15.

    Ingredients:

  • Avobenzone , Ecamsule , Octocrylene.
  • Carbomer 940 , Carbomer Copolymer , Cyclomethicone , Dimethicone , Edetate Disodium , Glycerin , Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose , Isopropyl Palmitate , Methylparaben , Phenoxyethanol , Propylene Glycol , Propylparaben , Water (Purified) , Stearic Acid , Stearoyl Macrogolglycerides , Stearyl Alcohol , Trolamine

So you're probably wondering what the hell I'm so excited about with a SPF 15 cream. Well, first and foremost, it doesn't break me out. BIG DEAL YO. Second, it is actually moisturizing. Not pseudo-suck-the-moisture-out-of-your-face-"moisturizing". No, it actually moisturizes. Maybe now that my skin barrier isn't shriveling up like a banana peel in the sun, it can actually moisturize my skin, but really, it is moisturizing. AM I splash my face with lukewarm water, take my washcloth, and just buff away flakies and eye boogers gently, pat dry, and apply this.

Now I know what you're thinking...

"But it's SPF 15, Joan. You guys always recommend SPF 30 or above!"

Yes, I know! And we generally recommend SPF separate from moisturizer. Do as I say not as I do, hur hur hur. But I am rarely out in the sun -- I spend a lot of time at a computer. So when I do go outside, it is in my UV-window-blocking Honda, so I feel pretty safe just rocking a low SPF value daily. If I know I'm going out in the sun for a long period of time, you better believe I'm slathering my casper-white ass in the highest SPF value I can find (I love you, Skinceuticals Physical Fusion). But I have finally found an in between, and I love it.

Oh, and it isn't grease-tacular, nor does it leave that unsightly white cast since it is a chemical sunscreen. It feels a lot like a regular moisturizer.

Okay, so empties... I recently blew through my bottle of Eucerin Intensive Repair. Yeah, that stuff I recommend all the damn time. Well, I repurchased it. Not just repurchased it, but repurchased. Girl, I mean I went all out -- I ordered a 2 pack of 16.9oz bottles from Amazon. I love this stuff so much I'm tempted to just gift it to all my friends for Christmas. It sloughs off dead scales, and just makes my skin look radiant. And I have KP and eczema -- a double-dryness threat, baby.

This week I also did something crrraaaaazy, guys. I made my own body butter. /u/yvva's love of unrefined shea finally made me pull the trigger on my order of unrefined shea butter from Amazon. Well, it came in 2 days later and smelled a bit like latex (Warning: shea is not advised for people with a latex allergy). Well, it sat all alone in the box for 2-3 days until I finally built up the courage (read: motivation to get off of Reddit) to make it into something less... chunky. So I drove down to the Container Store for some commercial straight-sided jars and got to business. I will be making a whole thread about the process soon(TM), but I mixed and melted it down with coconut oil, chilled it, and then whipped it. No one told me I was making all-natural marshmellow creme!

Now, I know you're sitting there going, "Get on with it! WHAT IS IT LIKE?!". Well, I'm here to assure you that it is pretty awesome. I won't be giving up my Eucerin (love you, baby) as my usual moisturizer, but it is great for my hands, arms, and legs througout the day when I'm feeling dry and parched. Unfortunately, it doesn't really provide relief for my eczema like I hoped, but you won't catch me scraping it out into the trash. In fact, I bought a bunch of cute Ball half pint jars from Walmart for ~$5 and made some up for my grandmother and my mom, using avocado oil (check the cooking section for cheaper virgin avocado oil! I found my 9oz bottle for $4.54 at HEB!) and EVOO in addition to coconut oil.

PHEW. Okay. I just had to tell you guys about those products. Hopefully next month I'll have a couple new yummies for you, but that was all just too damned exciting not to share.

Edit: Dear lord, that escalated quickly. If you got through this whole post, you deserve a medal or something. Or a cookie. Cookies are effing delicious.

Do it.

Had a high hairline naturally, then started receding about 17 or so. Said screw it, started shaving at 20, been doing it over a decade now. Best decision ever.

Few words of advice, you will burn through razors very quickly, buy from amazon in bulk. You will also cut yourself a lot in the first few weeks, you skin will toughen up and smooth out. Also I have found that cocoa butter makes a great shave gel. Moisturizes the skin, lubes the blades, doesn't dry out like shaving cream or soap, also cheap. Here's the type I use, available in most stores or amazon.

u/Nimriel · 8 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I found exactly the same lotion, the AIO gel and the soap while browsing amazon.jp. It's seems some things are AmazonGlobal Eligible as well (just the lotion+soap worked to go through the check out for me though).

Also, found this make of honey products and if you follow the link to the gel you can see other products in the same line like serum, soap, lip jelly and cleansing gel.

I know we are only supposed to use QASA approved lotions 🙄 but like, I’m not touching food with my bare hands so I’ll use whatever I need to keep them from being cracked and broken. My mom gardens a lot and washing all the dirt off every day was hard on her hands and she uses Gloves in a Bottle. It’s basically a lotion that creates a barrier between your skin and whatever chemical/dirt you’re working with and prevents them from being completely absorbed into your skin. It’s amazing. Whenever my hands start getting bad at work I just slather this stuff on and reapply as needed. Use a heavy duty hand cream like Working Hands when you’re at home :)

Pixi Glow Tonic - I've finally started to use this after seeing countless rave reviews and I really enjoy it. I don't like the smell at all, but it goes away fairly quickly. It's made my skin soft and smooth without irritating it (which is normally an issue for my sensitive skin). I've been using it once a day for about two weeks and I'll probably stick to that. I fear if I start doing 2x a day it'll be too much.

AmLactin lotion - I have always had bad KP on my upper arms and legs and not much has worked to fix it, so I was apprehensive about everyone claiming this "cured" their KP. SO far it's really helped tone down the redness and get rid of some of the rough patches, so I'm excited to keep using it. The texture is fine and doesn't leave a greasy feeling and I haven't been bothered by the smell of it.

Ulta's Twisted Volume Mascara - I use this first, then put Ciate's Wonderwand on top. The Ulta one makes my lashes super long, with no clumps. It's a very pretty, natural look on its own. And for how often Ulta puts their brand on sale, you can get it for a great price too.

u/snoring_portal · 5 pointsr/30PlusSkinCare

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk - It doesn't make my skin feel tight and I haven't experienced any build-up yet, which is a huge problem with my skin and using some cleansers without exfoliation. I use micellar water after this if I'm using foundation because it doesn't get everything by itself, but for morning and non-makeup use, it's perfect. I rinse it off with water but it says you can also just wipe it off.

Heritage Store Rosewater - THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE. I don't care if it's a placebo effect, it feels wonderful on my skin, it smells magnificent, and it doesn't make me break out. I use it under Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion, which has hyaluronic acid, and together they moisturize my skin much better than with the lotion alone. (Pretty sure I've been drying my skin out by not moistening my skin first XD)

Cosmetic cornstarch - Brah. If your sunscreen and/or makeup leaves you looking like an oil slick, get this. It's super cheap ($1.50!!!) and is the main ingredient in a lot of makeup setter powders anyway. (I also tried the rice powder but it made my foundation weirdly patchy.)

I'm not a doctor, so if you've been prescribed tret, I would talk with your doc before adding any additional products. That said, if your skin can handle it and your doctor doesn't tell you not to, you could try adding AmLactin. Retinoids and AHAs [are different chemicals] (https://phamix.com/2008/12/alpha-hydroxy-acids-or-retinol-which-is-best) so it's possible adding one would do something slightly different for your skin.

In terms of how many products you can use, it's entirely up to you. I use anywhere from 2 to 8 or 9 products at once layered /r/AsianBeauty style, including mixing (NON-prescription strength) retinoids with an AHA. On a normal day I just use glycolic acid + CeraVe (2 products). But on a weekend evening before bed, I'll take a bath using [zinc soap] (https://www.amazon.com/DermaHarmony-Pyrithione-Zinc-ZnP-Soap/dp/B00MWB0ZGE/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493411293&sr=8-5&keywords=zinc+soap) and [physically exfoliate] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007IAE5WY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in the tub, spray my skin with a [low-Ph toner] (https://www.amazon.com/Cosrx-Clarifying-Treatment-Toner-150ml/dp/B00OZ63ODA/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1493411340&sr=1-2&keywords=mizon+aha+bha+toner), apply a [Vitamin C serum] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00THEGVCG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1), then an [AHA gel] (https://www.amazon.com/Paulas-Choice-Resurfacing-Treatment-Exfoliant/dp/B00DH21DBS/ref=sr_1_5_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1493411427&sr=1-5&keywords=paula%27s+choice+aha+gel), then some [Retinol Cream] (https://www.amazon.com/Retinol-Surge-Moisturizer-Cream-2-5/dp/B00OQQLNG4/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1493411480&sr=1-1&keywords=body+merry+retinol), then a [more moisturizing cream] (https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Moisturizing-Cream-Pump-Ounce/dp/B01CTRLLFE/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493411504&sr=1-3&keywords=cerave+cream), then top it all off with an [occlusive] (https://www.amazon.com/Aquaphor-Advanced-Therapy-Ointment-Protectant/dp/B00IB0X5FS/ref=sr_1_1?srs=7301146011&ie=UTF8&qid=1493411531&sr=8-1&keywords=aquaphor) to seal in all that moisture. I might even throw an extra layer of or two of [moisturizing toner] (https://www.amazon.com/ORGANIC-ROSE-WATER-SPRAY-Uplifting/dp/B00YMMENPK/ref=sr_1_15_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493411630&sr=8-15&keywords=rose+water+toner), [tea tree oil] (https://www.amazon.com/Pure-Tea-Tree-Essential-Oil/dp/B018J6KIBW/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493411669&sr=8-5&keywords=tea+tree+serum), [snail gel] (https://www.amazon.com/Mizon-Snail-Recovery-Gel-Cream/dp/B00BQM3S3C/ref=sr_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493411704&sr=8-9&keywords=snail+gel), or [honey ampoule] (https://www.amazon.com/SCINIC-Honey-Ampoule-Types-Whitening/dp/B00STAV016/ref=sr_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493410839&sr=8-9&keywords=honey+cream) in there if I think my skin needs extra redness reduction. Is that excessive? Absolutely. But I put all that stuff on my face to make my skin happy, so I don't see why the rest of my body shouldn't be allowed to occasionally join the party.

u/chemkara · 4 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Yes it would help. Put some in a spray water and do a light spritz over the affected areas, let dry for a couple of minutes. You can follow up with cream that has Urea for extra moisture and exfoliation.
I like The Eucerin lotion in both the blue and the purple line.

u/lobster_johnson · 3 pointsr/Psoriasis

Get a moisturizer containing urea (aka carbamide). Urea is a keratolytic, meaning it dissolves dead skin cells and will cause psoriasis plaques to dissolve and slough off. Anything between 10-40% is extremely effective.

Urea is very common in Europe, where you can find brands like Excipial and Eubos. In the US, urea is present in some cosmetics sold in pharmacies (including some by CeraVe), but usually not marketed much, and merely tucked away in the ingredients list. The most prominent brand is probably Eucerin, which has several products, including Eucerin Intensive Lotion and Roughness Relief Lotion.

u/skindy · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

You could try the Asian version: http://www.amazon.com/Rohto-CP-Hadalabo-Hyaluronic-Lotion/dp/B000VSYBDI

It's the Hadalabo Milky Lotion. There are a few key ingredients that are different namely because the Milky Lotion doesn't have SPF.

u/bcvsfuckyou · 3 pointsr/blackladies

I have really bad eczema so I know about moisturizing. I use Vaseline Intensive Care but if my skin is hella dry then I’ll use it as a base layer and then apply Queen Helene Coco Butter.

Edit: If your skin gets hella dry, look at your soap as well. I use Cetaphil body wash when my skin is feeling especially sensitive.

u/bekahfromspace · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

You definitely want to look into adding to your night routine. Oils, serums, and moisturizers at night are incredibly important as they have the time to soak into your skin without being exposed to the elements (namely the sun).

I think the best place for you to start are with a Retinol serum and a night moisturizer. Retinol promotes collagen production and is used for anti-aging and acne control. It's helped me with tone and the size of the pores on my cheeks and nose.

I use the Tree of Life 72% Organic which can be found on Amazon for $11 (this has lasted me months):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S2G7AUC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For a moisturizer I cannot recommend enough the Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion. Hyaluronic Acid is great for keeping skin moisturized and I've seen a huge difference in the dewy (not oily) nature of my skin since using it. The Hado Labo is perfect for dry, sensitive skin and will give you that added glow you're looking for. Can be found on Amazon for about $30 which is a little spendy but this is a gigantic bottle that will last forever:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KSS993I/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

The number one thing I recommend is checking out Renee a.k.a Gothamista on Youtube. She's incredibly intelligent and has a wide variety of videos available not only discussing the best products in each category, but why they're great for certain skin types and how exactly they affect the skin. She also reviews budget friendly products. Subscribing to her literally changed my life and I've had the best skin I've ever had since finding her and taking her product recommendations:

*Edit: I use the Retinol at night after cleansing and before moisturizing.

Hi there! I also struggle with sensitive skin, and as a result I have problems with dandruff, oily skin (especially on the face), acne, acne scars, and eczema. Sensitive skin runs in my family (I'm Irish). So, I will give you a personal remedy that I developed over the last year that significantly reduced these problems.

I got some good initial information from this thread in /r/malefashionadvice. I use most of the products that he mentions there, my personal favorites being the cetaphil dermacontrol foam wash and the cetaphil dermacontrol moisturizer SPF 30.

For starters, it is important to get in a good skincare routine. I was always busy in high school and told myself that I didn't have time to waste taking care of my face. It wasn't until college that I realized my lack of skincare was really inhibiting my ability to feel confident, so that's when I decided I needed to get into a good routine. I started out by washing my face three times a day, and making sure I drink at least half a gallon of water throughout the day. Skin becomes oily when it is dehydrated, and drinking water is a good initial step to keeping it from being dehydrated.

I didn't really solidify my routine until I stumbled upon the /r/malefashionadvice skincare thread. It all depends on what works for your skin type, but for my oily sensitive skin, this is what I found works best:

  • I wash my face three times a day, once in the morning and afternoon each with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, and before bed with the cetaphil dermacontrol foam wash.

  • Each time after washing my face, I also apply the Dickinson's witch hazel pore perfecting toner. It's a lot harder to find than the cetaphil products (I just picked those up from walgreens), but it is definitely worth it. I've tried two or three other toners and all of them left my skin very oily and irritated. It smells a little off, but it's not really a lingering smell

  • After the toner has set in, I apply cetaphil dermacontrol moisturizer SPF 30. I'll also apply this throughout the day if I'm outside a lot. It helps control the sheen of my skin by keeping it moisturized. Make sure you wash your hands with soap and water before putting this on because you do not want dirt getting into your pores!

  • To get rid of the stubborn blackheads that won't go away, I use pore strips about once a week.

  • I wash my pillowcase once a week and my bedsheets every two weeks. Every night sweat and dirt and dead skin comes off of your face and hair and goes into your pillowcase and bedsheets. Keep them clean so your face has a nice sanitary place to rest for 8 hours every night.

  • I also wash my towels once a week. I have four that I cycle throughout the week (one every two days). Washing your towels is just as important as washing your pillowcase/bedsheets because they are supposed to wipe away the dirt in your face, so if you don't wash them regularly, that dirt just accumulates and goes back into your pores.

After finally getting into a good facial skincare routine, I started having problems with excema and dandruff. I fortunately had a routine physical with my doctor where I asked him what I could do about these problems. This is where you may disagree with me, but he told me that I should not shower more than once a week. As I mentioned earlier, skin becomes oily/irritated when it is dehydrated, and one of the easiest ways to dehydrate your skin is excessive bathing. The doctor told me to shower once a week and more importantly to not use soap on areas besides the face, armpits, and genitals.

I told my doctor that I shower everyday because I go to the gym and sweat furiously. He told me to just take a quick rinse after the gym to wipe the sweat off, and to apply lotion daily. I apply Jergen's Ultra Healing lotion once every night before bed.

As for dandruff, this is where you may need to look elsewhere. While I do have dandruff, it's not much of a problem for me simply because it isn't very severe. I wash my hair three or four times a week with Dove Men + Care Sensitive Scalp. Since I don't shower, I usually just do this before bed by getting my hair wet in the shower, scrubbing the shampoo in vigorously with my fingers, then washing it out while also massaging my scalp. If that product doesn't work for you, you can't go wrong with some Head & Shoulders.

I hope this helps you, let me know if you think there's anything I left out!

    EDIT: added towel-washing regimen

Break out the bio oil, and aquaphor, put socks and gloves on after slopping tons on the hands and feet (before bed) Major sunscreen, not the drug store kind, Alba Botanical Sensitive Skin, the bottle is green, can be found at Sprouts, Wholefoods or Amazon. Big sun hat, and summer dress.

1.Dab Bio Oil on skin before going somewhere beach or pool oriented. On arms and leg spots.

2. Aquaphor your lips and the worst of your wounds.

3. Sensitive Skin Suncreen.

Daily routine (especially after shower) should be:

Little bits of bio oil and then not so bad sores.

Aquaphor those deep particularity ouchie ones.

Complete all of this by slapping this wonderful, waterbased lotion on your skin that is NOT greasy and well worth a little extra cost

Ah that just sucks :( Lactic acid is really good for KP...just about the best thing I've found topically, at least. Have you tried something with urea? It didn't work for me personally (a prescription urea emulsion was the first thing my derm gave me), and it totally has a strong smell, but doesn't smell like milk at least!

This (http://www.amazon.com/Topix-Urix-Urea-Cream-8oz/dp/B0045A2DPG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449117055&sr=8-1) has really good reviews from people with KP. Urea dissolves keratin!

Also this stuff is a little cheaper and you might try it? It has 10% urea and 2% AHA/lactic acid, so there might still be a little smell but AmLactin is 12% lactic acid so it'll hopefully be way less noticeable to you (http://www.amazon.com/U-Lactin-Dry-Skin-Lotion-oz/dp/B0001ZA3Y2/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1449117168&sr=8-8). Someone asked if it smells as bad as AmLactin and most people said no/it doesn't smell like much of anything.

Aquaphor works well for cuticles, and also washes off well. I haven't tried OPI Nail Envy but you could try that also. Is there any way you could wear gloves at work? That would help a lot.

I've also heard of glove like lotion like this one, might be worth looking into

It's possible that you might be dealing with symptoms of anemia. Your guess that you might be deficient in a nutrient is pretty reasonable. Iron and B12 are two nutrients you should pay attention to (and are really easy and cheap to supplement or add to your diet).

You may want to see a doctor or nutritionist to see if they can confirm that this is nutrient related and if maybe a blood test can help you figure out what's wrong?

For shampoos / conditioners, I used to use L'oreal's sulfate free options. They're pretty cheap (I used to buy them for $5-$7 depending on the store or type of shampoo / conditioner), and surprisingly vegan. Going to cleaning products that didn't have sulfates in them helped my hair feel healthier.

I also put this stuff in my hair after I take a shower, and my hair feels and looks pretty healthy throughout the day:

This is what I use when my hands get really bad. Gotta just keep slathering regularly until they are repaired. After that use something milder regularly on a preventative basis.

Before trying anything extreme (like putting yogurt in your hair), start by using a daily moisturizer. I use Vaseline Men's Face & Body Lotion and it works great (cheap, absorbs quickly and doesn't get oily)

As for your head..I would also try using a conditioner. Some of these shampoos can be pretty harsh on the scalp.

The lotion toner is the same as what was mentioned up above. Here's a link to what I bought off of amazon last week.

  • Oil Cleanser (Nighttime Only): Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil $17.99; oil cleanser helps to melt off makeup and sunscreen and emulsifies with water for a clean finish. Note: You don't have to use a special oil cleanser, you can also use grapeseed oil, additive-free mineral oil, jojoba oil, or olive oil, just be aware you will typically require a second cleanse to completely remove the oil from your face. I personally use neem oil which is antimicrobial and antifungal because of adult acne, but it is a drying face oil.

  • Cleanser: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser $11-17; has ceramides, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid. Has the appropriate 4.5 pH necessary for cleansers.

  • Serum: OST Pure Vitamin C Serum $18.49; will help with evening and brightening skin tone, complexion clarity, and anti-aging -- requires long-term consistent use to see max benefit.

  • Hydrating Toner: Rohto Hadalabo Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Lotion (Moist) $17.54; contains hyaluronic acid and other hyaluronates, helps to lock liquid in skin, try to apply to slightly damp skin to max benefit. The HA needs moisture to grab onto and some people experience drying if they apply a product with high HA on dry skin.

  • Hydrating Serum: Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence $17; contains snail secretion filtrate, aloe, glycerin, arbutin, naturally derived salicylic acid, and azelaic acid (review here for more info on ingredients}, helps with wound healing, redness, lightning PIH, and soothing inflammation.

  • Face Oil: Pura d'or 100% Pure & USDA Organic Argan Oil $19.99; high in fatty acids which helps moisturize and soothe irritated and dry skin, optional vendor: Garden of Wisdom. Note: A good face oil is a trial and error thing, you may prefer: avocado oil, passionfruit seed oil, rosehip seed oil, etc. Certain oils are more drying, others are richer and more moisturizing. You may have to engage in some research and experimentation to find which is right for you and most can be found for under $20 if you look.

  • Emulsion/Milk (Daytime Only): Hada-Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Milk $16.35; High hyaluronic acid and glycerin content, is slightly richer than the toner previously listed and can be used as a daytime moisturizer underneath your sunscreen. Arbutin is a skin-lightening ingredient that evens skin tone and fades PIH, but you can get Rohto Hada-Labo Gokujun Hyaluronic Acid Milk $15.86; which is the same thing but without the arbutin.

  • Sunscreen (Daytime Only): Up to you, one of the trickier products out there and I assume you have something you like already. Asian sunscreens tend to have a better cosmetic finish but rely on chemical sunscreen ingredients. I personally use EltaMD UV Lotion Broad-Spectrum SPF 30+ which is marketed for body but has the same ingredients as EltaMD's facial sunscreen.

  • Moisturizing Cream (Nighttime Only): Benton Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream $17.00; Contains snail secretion filtrate, peptides, fatty acid rich oils, and niacinamide to help moisturize, prevent water loss, and encourage wound-healing. One of the richest face creams I've personally tried with good ingredients for the price. For details on the ingredients, see here. Remember if your T-zone is oily, you don't have to apply it there!

Option 2: EltaMD PM Therapy Moisturizer $22.13; high in niacinamide and linoleic acid to help restore skin's moisture. May need the aid of an occlusive like Vaseline or a sleeping pack (see below).

  • Special - Sleeping Pack: Option 1 Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Wrinkle Care Sleeping Pack $14.98; Option 2 Etude House Moistfull Collagen Sleeping Pack $15.96; Option 3 Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX $33.99; Sleeping packs are extra rich creams which go on top of all your other skin care at night to give you an extra boost in moisture. Similar to people putting a thin layer of Vaseline on at night, you put a thin layer of the sleeping pack on and sleep with it over night 2-3 times a week as needed. They're more of an extra thing, not an every day thing, much like a face mask.

That is an example of a moisturizing and non-irritating East Asian skincare routine using products that are all $20 or under each (barring a couple options), each with good hydrating and anti-inflammatory actives. Almost all are available through Amazon or through a singular vendor like W2Beauty which usually has coupon codes and can combine shipping. Target will carry the Laneige line in stores, but it is more a mid-price range. I can't personally guarantee they'll work for you, but the starting points are all there for you to do the research yourself if need be.

u/ms_kittyfantastico · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

It hasn't been discussed recently, but some on this sub have suggested U-Lactin which has both lactic acid (chemical exfoliant) and urea (humectant).

u/silverdrake3 · 2 pointsr/LARP

At Walgreens there is this cocoa butter lotion that comes in a massive bottle for about $8. It's not fragrance-free, but I've never had any complaints about it.

I think just about any hand and body lotion would do the trick.

u/ringruby · 2 pointsr/Hypothyroidism

I have sensitive skin so these might be too mild for you, but I wash my face with purpose gentle cleansing wash. I find a lot of face soaps are intended for oily or combo skin and irritate my face, but this one is gentle, does its job, and keeps my skin clear.

I moisturize every morning with nivea soft moisturizing creme I'm not sure if it will be hydrating enough for your case, but I swear by this stuff.

It might be worth putting on vaseline at night, as a lot of moisturizers have alcohol in them and can make dry patches worse!

EDIT: Forgot to include makeup I like. I really love Maybelline's bb cream, also their Fit me Dewy Foundation but unfortunately I am allergic to one ingredient in this foundation and it makes me break out. Might work for you! Loreal True Match Lumi is also a really good drug store foundation for dry skin, it's medium coverage though.

High end foundation I like is Lancome Teint Idole when I need lots of coverage or don't want to look dewy. I have to apply this with a damp beauty sponge though or it won't go on well. I use Real Technique's Sponge but most drug store sponges have gotten better in quality! I would recommend getting one of these and using it to apply every foundation you try as you will probably have better results than with a brush!

Light coconut scents seem to last longer than floral fragrances (for me) and are great for warmer months and everyday use. I like this coconut and sea salt scrub, and follow up with either Jergen's Wet Skin or Natural Glow lotion.

For cooler months and more special occasions, I agree with the person who said to get a nice perfume and the shower gel to go with it. I personally use Woman by Ralph Lauren. I use either the shower gel or lotion (using both just makes the scent overwhelming) and a spritz of perfume, and carry the roller ball in my bag if we go out.

Don't underestimate what you use, though, since we stop noticing our scent before others do. Sometimes a fragrance-free soap, good deodorant, and a nice shampoo go a long way!

Edit: If all of that is a little "too much" or more than you want to spend right now, the one product I'd recommend is the Jergen's Wet Skin lotion in any scent.

I've had this all my life and went through a time this summer where I was determined to find something that works. I was dry brushing and using Stridex as mentioned here, and definitely try that as you never know what will work for you. But I found all that exfoliation was making my arms more red and irritated. The key is exfoliation AND lots of moisture (as someone else mentioned).

I was looking around the drugstore and noticed that Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion has AHAs and thought I'd give it a shot; it has made the biggest difference of any single product. Pretty cheap and you can get it most anywhere. Very thick but dries down relatively quickly. Good luck!

What's the difference between Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin (Toner) & Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin Lotion I've tried the essence before, and it's my understanding that the toner has a water texture--essentially a hydrating toner. How does the lotion compare to those two? Is it thicker than the essence?

u/FacelessBureaucrat · 1 pointr/malegrooming

You might need a better electric shaver. I use pre-shave stuff and shave before I shower, then throw on a little of this stuff after, then some of this at night keeps my face from drying out.

u/starstough · 1 pointr/Hypothyroidism

I use Alba Botanica Very Emollient body wash. $10 on Amazon, $15 at Target. The bottle is huge and should last me gosh... probably 3 months even though my two kids also use it daily. I use a salux cloth with two pumps of body wash.

For my face I use Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Daily Cream Facial Cleanser. Super expensive on Amazon. $8 at Target. It does not foam up or lather and it is super thick but it rinses clean with no burning or tightness after. You truly only need an actual pea sized amount for your whole face, so this bottle should last at least 3 months!

For my hair, right now I am using Burts Bees Very Volumizing Pomegranate shampoo and conditioner. These are honestly a bit expensive considering how little you get, so because I have long hair, even though these are amazing (super shiny hair now!) I am going to try Alba's shampoo/conditioner when these run out. Sulfate free is important to me.

After I wash my face I use Stridex in the red box (Whoa, that's a good deal on Amazon for a 3 pack... otherwise, around $5 at King Soopers) and after I'm done drying my hair, putting on lotion (Jergens Ultra Healing) I use Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV Sunscreen, which is absolutely amazing. I don't use a moisturizer anymore because the face wash and this sunscreen somehow are more than enough. The sunscreen doesn't have a scent, goes on easily, sinks in right away, has a matte finish... and my skin looked younger and smoother and healthier after one day using it!

The biggest reason I think I am bouncing back like this is because Nature Throid has T3 and T4 and I've been on that since 2 weeks after my initial diagnosis. My hair growth is probably about 4 months worth, so I would bet that in a couple months you will start to notice things improving. In the meantime, drink tons of water ( a gallon a day is actually ok), moisturize, and breathe deeply. :)

u/AtaxicZombie · 1 pointr/DAE

Yeah sounds and looks most like eczema, there are several treatments most of them are prescription however unless you can get your hands on some samples. I would suggest starting off with none steroid treatments like pro-topic and/or Elidel if those don't work then more of a steroid cream is an option, there are side effects with those (thinning of the skin). So your best option is to see a dermatologist.

However you can try to keep your skin healthy with lotions and ointments. My favorite lotion is Eucerin I use it it when I get out of the shower (always pat dry never rub) and on my hands when they are dry, you can pick it up at a Walmart or Target if you live in the US. You can also go over to the travel size products and pick up a small bottle of lotion i like the Aveeno also a great lotion one and refill with preferred lotion when needed to have a travel bottle. The other product I swear by is Aquaphor it is a ointment kind of like a petroleum jelly. Slab that shit all over your feet or hands when they are very dry, wear cotton socks and cotton gloves while sleeping or watching TV. The gloves will get dirty and stretch just wash and dry and they will be good as new. I have several pairs floating around so I don't have to laundry every day. This helps the ointments or any medication applied to those areas the maximum effectiveness. Also it allows you to be able to do things with your hands and not get shit all over everything.

If does turn out to eczema try to avoid touching chemicals especially cleaning products wear gloves and be caution what you are sticking your hands into. Good luck with everything

Feel free to shoot me a message anytime asking questions or to talk about skin related shit.

Recommendations for a good cheap non-alcohol face wash (and maybe a matching moisturiser)? I'm not looking for anything mediated or anything, just something solid. I'm using this Nivea one right now but it's too expensive for me to buy in Japan (literally $20 as opposed to $5).

I love it, I use it before doing my makeup and throughout the day. I have the aloe and rose spray, and the heritage store spray. I find myself repurchasing the heritage store spray more often than the mario badescu

u/Puppywanton · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

That's the one. You can also buy a small 2 oz bottle to try it out first, it should last you a week or so. I do not enjoy how it does have a tendency to dry a little tacky or sticky and some people hate the mild ammonia smell (I think it's fine, personally), but I religiously applied it twice a day and the bumps on my upper arms disappeared in under 2 weeks.

u/aPlusOne · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

In the beginning of my pregnancy I started researching different products, decided to go with something simple, this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000536EK/. After showering, I spray my body with rosewater (http://www.amazon.com/Heritage-Store-Flower-Waters-Rosewater/dp/B0002JHGYC/) as a toner then use the body oil all over. Been doing this from the beginning. I'm just at 24 weeks now so it's too early to tell but so far so good.

Also another thing, besides hydration, is eating good fats! These will help your skin from the inside out.

In short, pick a simple protocol, stick to it, don't worry too much, and eat good fats.

Varies during season and face vs body.

Face

During Summer: Simple Light moisturizer. Don't need as much since it's warmer/more humid.

During Winter: Simple Rich moisturizer . It gets dry in the winter so the richer moisturizer is good.

Body

Summer: Jergens Shea Butter. Don't need a much since it's not as dry.

Winter: Jergens ultra healing Chicago gets dry as fuck so this works great.

For your face I'd definitely suggest the simple light moisturizer. It doesn't really leave any greasy feeling.

Ok I have the same exact hair as yours.

You won't get this without chemical straightening

https://smhttp-ssl-33667.nexcesscdn.net/manual/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/curly-hair-with-undercut-men.jpg

I just got a keratin straightening treatment yesterday (basically a brazilian blowout). It doesn't take out the curls but just makes them looser. It'll still be too curly to pull of that style though, even with a blowdryer, but it'll look 10x better than what you have now.

3 options.

  • Keep what you have but keep the sides faded really short, but you have to get them cut every few weeks. Grow out the top to ~2 inches and it'll look fine.

  • Get the blowout (top needs to be over an inch long cause they have to flat iron it) and fade the sides every few weeks. Grow out the top to like 3 inches.

  • Or grow out the top to 3-4 inches, and sides to 1-2 inches, and get a blowout for the whole thing and style however you'd like. This would probably be the best looking option but you have to deal with the sides looking goofy for a couple of months while it grows out. With this option I wouldn't suggest getting the blowout till the sides are long enough so you don't have loose curly hair on top and an afro on the sides.

Pick up a leave in conditioner too. It'll help a lot with the frizz.

Here is a good guide to help chose a new hair style. You’re not hopeless remember taking care of yourself, diet, working out eating right etc. does major changes to your body so it’s always good to try to work towards being your very best. For skin care I wouldn’t say my skin is sensitive but things like proactive really screwed my face up, so I was looking for a cleanser at Walmart when I came across this Nivea men sensitive cleanser. It smells wonderful leaves my skin nice and soft actually their whole line is great. Shower twice a day use your cleanser. Wash your face with exfoliating scrub.three times a week this is the scrub I use there are many from the same brand or other brands but read the skin type and chose what best works for your skin type. Again this is regular grooming stuff but I feel if we are talking about skin care as men we don’t really pay attention to black heads on the nose but believe me it bugs the hell out of girls remove any black heads. Best of luck! You’re ugly right now but things change definitely hit the gym and lean down if you’re looking for a better facial structure definition.
