Thanks, they're Kaiser Doll stands. Specifically the thin waisted ones. I'll edit a link in when I get back to my computer.

Here's the link, they come in a few different heights, but these are my favorite. And if you want a different size make sure to get the small-waisted versions or they won't grip a 6" figure.

Doll stands! Specifically, the regular lightsticks are on these 8"-12" stands, while the event lightsticks are on these 6"-11" stands.

Nope. I use some mounts from Amazon that screw in.

Also, sorry for making two comments, but I recommend that you sell off stuff you don't want, especially the smaller and lower quality pieces that many start off with as first pieces.

Here's some links for specific stands that I recommend. They should be versatile and are budget friendly.

U-Stands. Great for highlighting pieces in the back of displays and adding accents, sometimes can be rotated to create a two level effect.

Easel Stands. Good for displaying slabs or even books.

Sliding Stands. Good for vertical pieces, and can hold much more than you would think. Really wide pieces can start adding too much weight, so don't push them too far.

Peg Stands. Subtle and easy to incorporate into any display. 1 2 3

Slotted Acrylic Stands. Meant to hold labels so they're easy to see for pieces in the back or on higher shelves.

I'm partial to this one, that I use in my display case. Link.

I submitted a post to r/animefigures using this turntable. (Warning slightly NSFW, bikini/pantsu) Reddit Post

I have one exactly like this that I got for about $6, at Winn-Dixie (grocery store) of all places. Works great!

This is all really for cabinet sized pieces, but I don't really know what you have so this may or may not work.

Just buy a shelf.

I use this on top of a book case for mine: http://i.imgur.com/A5VFaTu.jpg

The smaller rack to the right holds 24 of the small vials, and the larger rack has 5 shelves, able to hold god knows how many bottles. I haven't tried to fill it up yet.

Not only is it organized, but I can locate whatever I need with ease...

Edit - Racks can be found here:

Just a cheap one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N0Q2COI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s05?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I chose it as it gives the option of being powered by USB, Outlet, or 1.5V D batteries.

Is this similar enough to what you're looking for?

u/emdeemcd · 2 pointsr/startrek

You're very welcome.

See, "appraisal" is a very specific term in the book industry. That's a specialty service where a person/firm will look at a book page by page, inspecting the binding and pages thoroughly to come up with an official value with a little certificate. This service is usually somewhat expensive since you're asking an expert to go through a lot of work. So, when you go to a bookseller asking for an "appraisal" you're asking them if they do this very specialized task, which most booksellers don't do. That's why you just want to ask them to look at a book because you're interested in selling it (even if you're not - don't tell them that) so they'll give you a number you can add 30% or whatever to find a ballpark value.

You should check out different booksellers to get multiple estimates. Like any merchant, individuals will try to undersell you to get more profit for themselves. Nothing wrong with that - any sort of selling and buying works on that principle.

You might find out that the book isn't too valuable monetarily. My gut instinct is that this probably isn't some million-dollar find, but might be worth a couple hundred bucks maximum to a super motivated collector, and even that might be stretching it. If that ends up being the case, still take care of it. You can get acid-free plastic bags/covers from any archives store online if you want to keep dust off it.

If this were my book, I'd cover the book with an acid-free clear plastic dust jacket and put it on display (out of the sun) with something like this:

If you want simple & easy, you could also put an acrylic riser into the tank. (I've never tried this though.)

u/chilidirigible · 2 pointsr/AnimeFigures

>Would that actually fit inside the Detolf as their website suggests?

Just to note: The entire case won't fit in the Detolf, but the APEX's riser stand does.

...within production tolerances, I suppose. The outside edges of my APEX's riser stand are very slightly wider than the Detolf's glass shelves. There's still plenty of clearance to the sides. (You would have to angle the riser stand to get it in past the vertical metal rods in the Detolf.)

>I am more curious in your shelf risers as it looks like you are fitting two side by side (maybe even two more behind). Which ones are you using there?

My existing riser stands are 6 x 6 x 6 inch for the bottom ones. On top of those are 5 x 5 x 5 inch ones. They're of this style, though when I originally purchased them there was a vendor that sold them in sets of 4.

Sounds like it just needs a servicing, which will most likely run $200 or so, plus a new crystal.

to find watchmakers in your area to take it to.

Any watch with sentimental value is always worth repairing to me.

Antique pocket watches make great desk clocks in one of these:

I have an antique Omega in mine right now, but I switch them out often as they sell. Winding it every morning is a nice ritual.

u/glac_elf · 1 pointr/Darts

I have a weird fascination for great, non-standard uses for stuff. This is an awesome one. I'll be on the lookout. I thought that this one might look cool with darts in it. I was thinking alternating which way they faced? Maybe not?

u/Qu1nlan · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Yeah, I know it's not advertised for shot glasses, but I still think this would be perfect for you. I use something very similar to display my collection of Pez dispensers.

Shots!

u/StarWarsFever · 1 pointr/funkopop

cool, thanks. i found post about it, but no link to the item--just that they found it at FiveBelow. It's not on their website, so it's probably something that's in-store only. I did, however, find this solar powered one that's pretty neato

edit: i found this one that's solar OR battery powered. Cool.

u/Manthano · 1 pointr/audiophile

One of these maybe?

u/gingerbeardman92 · 1 pointr/Steelbooks

I have a few of these that I found from a fellow redditor. They do the trick for nice and cheap

u/CeramicCornflake · 1 pointr/minipainting

Hey so if anyone is interested:

The model is Gutrot Spume from Game's Workshops Warhammer fantasy. The land is a mixture of cork, astrogranite, and a homemade astrogranite "substitute" with a coarser grain. The vegetation is lichen, which can be purchased at Hobby Lobby. The whole piece is on a glass dome display case made for a watch. Very cheap and looks great. I recommend.

Also, if anyone has any advice on how I can improve the quality of my pictures it would be much appreciated. I struggle every time.

Cheers!

Words cannot describe how important this is from my "Cheap Cheap" list. I REALLY need to get organized!

Thanks! My wife found them on Amazon, if I can find the link I will edit it in

Found them!

I’ve personally never had an issue the problem is the arms that hold the figure are too large in some cases. Especially across lines. I personally like these: Kaiser Doll Stand 2275, Box of 12 - Black Doll Stands for 11" to 12" small-waisted Fashion Dolls like Barbie https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TP5Y72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_PD9WBbYZTZH1G

I use them for Legends and Imports. They don’t have the versatility of some arms stands but they are sturdy and 12 stands for $23 is a good deal.
