That's really neat but a huge amount of effort and it's limited to very small components. What does everyone here do?

I use this tackle box, it's got plenty of small (resizable) compartments and a bigger space on top, so unlike this folder system, I can store larger modules like Nanos and breadboards.

u/firehawke · 7 pointsr/boardgames

Most of my suggestions are from other Reddit posts on here or BGG.

Do yourself a favor and buy an accordion/file folder for the map pieces, ideally with at least 13 pockets for map pieces A-M. That way you do not need to Tetris the pieces back in the box. Saves a lot of time.

I use this Plano box for commonly used small pieces.

And this one for the environment and monster holders.

Smaller monsters will fit in a tray like this one but not the larger mobs (or ones with ten of them), so you would either need to baggy those mobs anyway or cut space in the included foamcore packaging (there are some good examples in other threads).

Also YMMV, but we keep "trashed" cards in a separate ziploc bag rather than actually destroying them.

Edit Note: Using all of the methods described above, I can fit everything from the 1st edition in the box except the file folder.

u/Snitters12 · 6 pointsr/EDC

Neat! What kind of pill box is that? It looks way more practical than this small tackle box I use.

u/althanan · 5 pointsr/XWingTMG

I've been carrying one of these around and it works well for me. Holds all the token I need for a given game, with room for a damage deck and some rocks too.

Edit: Reddit ate the link first try, let's try again... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000Y8G37C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.xrxzbSC6YAQF

This. Buy one of these every month or so.

They have These double sided Plano Tackle boxes at Walmart for like $15. You can fit two to three bags of the above Chessex in one of these tackle boxes.

Bam. Metric FUCKTON of dice.

u/bkcammack · 3 pointsr/StarWarsArmada

I use this.

I have at least 1 of every thing, 2 of some. I like the fact that it includes small organizers for tokens, dials, dice etc. All my Large ships fit in the top under the lid. Pretty sure it won’t fit an SSD, but nothing will.

u/misthub_store · 3 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

This should work quite well for what your looking for... Plano-Line-Spool-Clear-Large

u/tallasse · 3 pointsr/rpg

I use a tackle box. Has separate containers for each type of die, some extras for minis or the like if I'm taking it somewhere, and some storage space in the bottom for pencils, post-its, calculator, and stuff like that.

u/MrCheezball · 3 pointsr/boardgames

I think setup took my about 30 mins give or take. There are just so many bits, and I haphazardly threw them in after Punching the night before. As someone else mentioned, grab this thing https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LF3E8O?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title for 5 bucks, bag the 4 sets of buildings for each player, and everything should fit in the box. The worst part of not having an organizer when I played, was separating out these 2cm × 2cm titles. There is like 200 of these including houses, graves, inns, and explorer tiles. If you just throw it in the box, it's a mess. Also get the resource upgrades (as someone else pointed out). It makes the game more colorful, easy to read, and makes separating the components slightly less painful.

u/jmvicke · 3 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

I've been using this tackle box for the last month and I really like it. The compartment size can be adjusted with the included inserts. The top holds my extra parts and the bottom is where I keep juice. I can fit a 50ml bottle in there. I'll post some pics if I can manage to get off my ass.

u/SeaOfDinks · 3 pointsr/FishingForBeginners

Agreed. I've been using this ultra light but durable soft backpack that I've had for a few years now and just throw in the basics. Carrying too much shit is a hassle and would definitely prevent me going out as much. Typically what I keep in the pack:

  • small plano box with a mix of in line spinners and a few different sized hooks, clip on sinkers, a couple different kinds of bullet weights and some misc things.

  • fishing pliers and knife in one side pocket

  • water bottle on the other side pocket

  • sunscreen+bug spray

  • one or two spools of line

  • few small baggies of soft plastic lures and small jar of power bait

  • very basic first aid kid, some paper towels, rubbers in case mermaid bitches and fishing permit.

Still very light, water resistant and plenty of room for miscellaneous things like snacks, or ice packs, etc. Always keep it on the go so I can just grab a rod and the backpack and head out easy peasy.

Stanley click and connect box with two small add ons, a small Plano for tokens to go in the top, and a binder with bcw pages for alllll of your cards. The small Plano linked below fits right in the top box under the lid. All of the items I linked are cheaper elsewhere so look around.

Ditch the cardboard and get a fishing spool holder.

u/Hunyock · 2 pointsr/minipainting

I've got a couple of these and I love them. Less than $7 from Amazon, but you can sometimes find them at Home Depot and Cabela's. Plano Deep Stowaway: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001447AW2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1422325011&sr=8-1&dpPl=1&dpID=41b4uF1KcfL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SY200_QL40

u/wreckingballheart · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Have you tried looking at tackle boxes? They also sell that one in pink/purple.

u/JustHereToRolePlay · 2 pointsr/rpg

I think I'm going to get one of the clear cans and this small tackle box I found. Looks like the perfect size: http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Small-Sided-Tackle-Box/dp/B0000BY57W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425178486&sr=8-1&keywords=small+tackle+box

u/ATT_Turan · 2 pointsr/SWlegion

This is the one I got for Imperial Assault. I think the 7771 would actually be better for Legion because the internal trays are just trooper-sized. The 3650 and 3455 boxes are taller, which fits some of the weirder-sized Imperial Assault models but results in having one fewer tray.

I didn't see in your pics, does the base and stand for the airspeeder fit...in the top? The lower right compartment?

u/Trinhbo · 2 pointsr/CampingandHiking

I also bought this tackle set for around $11. Note, the plastic box it comes in is kind of cheap so I replaced it with this tackle box for $6. You can also find that tackle box at Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, or Wal-mart.

u/dangledorf · 2 pointsr/boardgames

It is a really really solid game, and if you end up loving it as much as we did, there are some very simple amazon purchases you can make to make setup take <5mins.

Power Tile holder - Cut off 1 row and the binder holes and you can store all of the power tiles in here. These fold in half and fit perfectly in the box. Setup is as simple as taking the 3 sheets out of the box and done!

Player boxes - Put each colored players pieces in these boxes (battle cards, miniatures, prayer point tracker, turn tracker, and action tokens). With the last extra box, put the Divine Intervention cards and all of the small extra silver/gold action tokens. If you can find ones that are slightly deeper you could even fit each of the 3 colored pyramids.

Victory Point holder - Holds all of the victory points in their own compartments.

u/draikx21 · 2 pointsr/arduino

I separated them into their own storage containers.

Each one of the small ones (left storage unit) is separated by resistance, capacitance, LED type and color; the small things. In the right storage unit, I keep my Arduinos (Uno R3s, Megas, Mini, Pro Mini), Raspberry Pi (2, 2B), power cables, 9v battery caps, LCD modules; the bigger things.

I took that picture on February 13, 2017, after mounting the board to my wall. I'm going to have pinout sheets for the different Arduino boards I have, along with a resistor color sheet, for reference. I'm sure I'll find other useful datasheets to pin up, but for now, that's all I need to get started.

When I first started with my own electronics (not high school or college property), circa June 2001, I put things in a small/medium-sized tackle box. It wasn't until February 12, 2014 that I upgraded to the Flambeau 7-tray tackle box. It's got a great bottom compartment for storing wire spools, wire stripper/cutter tool, multimeter, soldering iron, etc. If you're not going to get too involved (uh-huh, I'm sure we've all said that at some point), just plan on something with a bit more space than you need now, for when a little something comes your way, and you want to store it together with your current components.

u/Captainlunchbox · 2 pointsr/boardgames

I'm using this model of Plano, the double sided satchel, model 1715-02

It's got a couple of big spaces for the cards, possibly enough depth for a deck box and tons of divided rows for the dice.

u/sillygirlsarah · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Rød grød med fløde PuerPingues, did you know, and don't laugh at me because I just found out last night....

That Wookies in the star wars universe don't use their claws to fight? It's considered uncivilized and taboo! Can you imagine that! Them big hair behemoths, using their retractable claws for everything but fighting. To use them for fighting means exile and shame.

Totally discovered that last night, it's pretty awesome, at least I think it is, from a totally nerdy and geeky perspective.

You want to know something else? My son and I Geocache and we're gearing up for the spring and being able to place our next geocache! But for that you need a container, preferrably watertight. We have a location scouted in the fall - There's this hole in at the bottom of a tree on a side trail off a main running/jogging paved trail - and we have trackerbugs and notebooks ready to go in it and stickers to make it Firefly thematic! What's geocaching you say PuerPingues? It's hunting down plastic containers in the middle of the woods with government satellites! It's a fun hubby my son and I do together.

u/reodd · 2 pointsr/Warhammer

I use an ancient (like 25 year old) version of this Plano 2 sided tackle box for my infantry:

http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Double-Sided-Tackle-Box/dp/B000E3C3JO/ref=sr_1_3?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1312381449&sr=1-3

Mine has inserts for dividing up the rows into small portions that are just right for a model laying down flat. I use the old foam from blister packs to cushion them.

I also use a Sabol Motor Pool for my tanks, which I love to death. It was a christmas gift from my wife.

u/BunsOfAluminum · 2 pointsr/rpg

If you meant the tacklebox, here it is on Amazon.

u/Bethaac123 · 1 pointr/Legodimensions

Hi, yeah of course, I ordered this one and it is great!!
[amazon](Storage Carry Case With 4 Adjustable Compartment Storage Boxes, Fishing Tackle Box, Lunar Box ® https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RVFR58C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zDHFybK0TQA8D)

u/GobbleThisObelisk · 1 pointr/electronic_cigarette

I'm unsure of the dimensions, but I've wanted to try out these kind of fishing line dispensers... the little black bit is rubber so should hold the wire from 'retracting.'

Here's a bigger picture of one as an example, but it's the wrong size spool.

Depending on how many minis you intend to store and tote with you, you can get a larger size. Plano is a great brand for it, though.

u/Disconn3ct · 1 pointr/electronic_cigarette

I travel with them in a waterproof (and coincidentally airtight) hard-plastic box I got many years ago. Basically similar to this.

I know its airtight because shortly after I got it, I came back from a job in mexico city and couldn't get it open to get my contact lens stuff out until the air seeped in about 2 days later.. stupid pressure changes.

I didn't have any leaks on a recent trip to the beach (4 hr flight), but I still had them in individual bags just to be safe.

(Edit to clarify: they were in small ziplocks, inside that box, in checked baggage.)

u/JTRourke · 1 pointr/preppers

Here's what I'm using as the case for the time capsule https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KENWZY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I plan on putting each item in an individual ZipLoc bag with some desiccant.

u/aPoliteCanadian · 1 pointr/XWingTMG

I use a fancy Star Wars lunch box to get my stuff around in style. Damage deck, dice, and templates are kept in bags, and I keep my tokens in one of these.

This and this are the closest I could find on amazon.co.uk. I keep shield, focus, evades, target lock, stress, ion, and critical hit tokens in it all the time. Put in other misc tokens (extra munitions, weapons disabled) as needed.

My lunchbox is big enough to fit the five straight template, as well as my range two ruler diagonally inside. That just leaves my range 1-3 ruler that I keep next to a book in my backpack.

A bit more research gives me these:

The same dimensions as mine.

A bit larger.

And a tad smaller.

Some of the smaller ships you can place inside the plano box. I wouldn't recommend having them on the pegs in while in the lunchbox as I've had a few snap off the peg. So long as you try to store things so the ships are on the top of everything in whatever way you are storing it, it should be fine. I use Willibald's boxes for the more fragile ships that don't fit in the plano (like X-wings and their frail little guns).

I've only every carried 100 pt lists in it, but unless you have several large ships, it should still fit everything ok.

u/hubbazoot · 1 pointr/guns
u/mpmarsee · 1 pointr/dicemasters

I like that one a lot, actually. I like the two-layer feature there. Handy. I've been using a larger (too large for this) Plano box that I had lying around for Heroclix but I want to replace it. I guess I'm just planning on holding out for the official setup box for now.

u/NoisyPiper27 · 1 pointr/bagpipes

For mobility, I use a fish tackle box. Mine is only a 2 shelf one, but my old instructor used a 3 tray one, and my current pipe major also uses a 3 tray. For most people who don't have a band or students to carry supplies for, a 2 tray is probably good enough.

http://www.amazon.com/Plano-2-Tray-Tackle-Metallic-White/dp/B000E3E126

Mine's that, only from the late 90s.

u/x0_Kiss0fDeath · 1 pointr/boardgames

Based on what you put up above, how about more of a "fishing tackle box" or a jewellery/bead organizer ?

u/RodBlaine · 1 pointr/modelmakers

This is an affordable option. Paint can fit in the upper portion.

u/billFoldDog · 1 pointr/organization

A fishing tacklebox or two ought to do it.

These plano boxes are stackable and can be inserted into Plano tackleboxes like this one

u/justanotherreddituse · 1 pointr/Ultralight

Your run of the mill graphite rod is fairly light already.

Pack light on fishing gear, knife is multi purpose and you should be able to fit a few, ideal prize lures in a box like this.

This is one of the shittiest LPTs I have ever seen.

First of all, those bottles are designed to keep water in, not out. Secondly, the narrow mouth (it's a bottle afterall) is going to keep you from fitting a lot of things in, and give you difficulty in removing them.

Thirdly and most importantly, most of the bottles are more expensive then an actual case designed to be waterproof. Use something that is actually designed to be used the way you intend, and you will get much better results.

Suggesting to use a water-bottle (good luck fitting your iPhone in that) as a waterproof case when you can get an actual waterproof case for cheaper that will work even better, is just asinine.

I have a case exactly like the one I posted. I go to Ginnie Springs on the Sante Fe river in Florida a lot and go camping (and drinking). This case has been completely submerged in the water, left in the rain over night, had beer spilled on it, been left floating in the water over night, yet it always kept my things perfectly dry.

Do yourself a favor, don't use a fucking water bottle as a waterproof case.
