I think I found the same model on Amazon

For smaller games, Plano boxes are considered a really good option by many. You can find cheaper versions in bigbox/craft stores as well, just watch out for the quality of the dividers. Some cheapos just end up falling out.

For bigger games, I've seen a lot of people use rolling suitcases at cons.

u/Snitters12 · 6 pointsr/EDC

Neat! What kind of pill box is that? It looks way more practical than this small tackle box I use.

u/GrackleLackle · 4 pointsr/Stretched

Tackle box! I use this one.

u/GreaserMedic · 4 pointsr/boardgames

I used 3 of these small 6 compartment Plano boxes I picked up at Walmart for just a couple bucks.

One each for USA and USSR influence (I pit 6,7,8 together) and one for dice and misc tokens.

u/[deleted] · 3 pointsr/Fishing

Box at home, bag for the road. I just got this and it's been working out well. Nice waterproof zippered pocket for the cell, external clips for elastic loops for pliers/knife, and it fits three large plano boxes (very) snugly. Hard bottom is a nice touch, and the price is right. Only problem is I've had it for two weeks and already two of the nylon loops attached to the zippers have come off. Other than that, all good.

u/Liquid_G · 3 pointsr/camping

Same idea. using 3 of these Plano 68 quart boxes in the back of a 4Runner.
https://www.amazon.com/Plano-1719-00-Quart-Tote-Black/dp/B007TOHI7I/

They are somewhat stackable too and made a good platform for a camping stove last time I was out.

u/tallasse · 3 pointsr/rpg

I use a tackle box. Has separate containers for each type of die, some extras for minis or the like if I'm taking it somewhere, and some storage space in the bottom for pencils, post-its, calculator, and stuff like that.

This should work quite well for what your looking for... Plano-Line-Spool-Clear-Large

u/MrCheezball · 3 pointsr/boardgames

I think setup took my about 30 mins give or take. There are just so many bits, and I haphazardly threw them in after Punching the night before. As someone else mentioned, grab this thing https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LF3E8O?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title for 5 bucks, bag the 4 sets of buildings for each player, and everything should fit in the box. The worst part of not having an organizer when I played, was separating out these 2cm × 2cm titles. There is like 200 of these including houses, graves, inns, and explorer tiles. If you just throw it in the box, it's a mess. Also get the resource upgrades (as someone else pointed out). It makes the game more colorful, easy to read, and makes separating the components slightly less painful.

u/jmvicke · 3 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

I've been using this tackle box for the last month and I really like it. The compartment size can be adjusted with the included inserts. The top holds my extra parts and the bottom is where I keep juice. I can fit a 50ml bottle in there. I'll post some pics if I can manage to get off my ass.

u/ClearAirTurbulence3D · 3 pointsr/arduino

I'm using a tackle box like this one It has four drawers for boards and a large space at the top for larger items like LCD screens, Pis and power supply bricks.

I keep the items in either anti-static bags or on anti-static foam.

u/r2rknot · 2 pointsr/WarhammerCompetitive

I own a tackle box like this (I got got mine ~16 years ago):

https://www.amazon.com/Plano-758-4-Drawer-Tackle-Box/dp/B000E39T28?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_6

Perhaps that would fill your needs? I remove the bottom 2 drawers to allow room for books/papers and one of the fliers I own (Valkyrie) The top stores 4 LR, Basilisk and Ogryn. The top (lid compartment) has all my dice, tokens, and glass beads. But I suppose you could also remove all 4 trays and use the bottom for transporting the really big stuff and store the smaller models in the upper compartment.

u/KalisCoraven · 2 pointsr/WireWrapping

https://www.amazon.com/Plano-758-4-Drawer-Tackle-Box/dp/B000E39T28?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_8

This is what I use. I put my spools of wire and my pliers and such in the top section of the box. The bottom drawers I use to store my stones and finished pieces.

u/draikx21 · 2 pointsr/arduino

I separated them into their own storage containers.

Each one of the small ones (left storage unit) is separated by resistance, capacitance, LED type and color; the small things. In the right storage unit, I keep my Arduinos (Uno R3s, Megas, Mini, Pro Mini), Raspberry Pi (2, 2B), power cables, 9v battery caps, LCD modules; the bigger things.

I took that picture on February 13, 2017, after mounting the board to my wall. I'm going to have pinout sheets for the different Arduino boards I have, along with a resistor color sheet, for reference. I'm sure I'll find other useful datasheets to pin up, but for now, that's all I need to get started.

When I first started with my own electronics (not high school or college property), circa June 2001, I put things in a small/medium-sized tackle box. It wasn't until February 12, 2014 that I upgraded to the Flambeau 7-tray tackle box. It's got a great bottom compartment for storing wire spools, wire stripper/cutter tool, multimeter, soldering iron, etc. If you're not going to get too involved (uh-huh, I'm sure we've all said that at some point), just plan on something with a bit more space than you need now, for when a little something comes your way, and you want to store it together with your current components.

u/ThirdWorldOrder · 2 pointsr/DIY_eJuice

I use this. It's cheap and it is good quality

u/Critically_Thinking · 2 pointsr/HappyTrees

Just wanted to follow up and say that the tackle box works great. I got one off amazon for like $15 and it fits the Windsor and Newton 37ml paints perfectly in the 2nd and 3rd tier of the box and the bob Ross brand paints perfectly in the top tier. I am keeping my brushes in the bottom, main compartment.

Just leaving this info in case someone else has the same question as me. Here is the tackle box I bought: (sorry for poor formatting, I’m on mobile)

Have you tried looking at tackle boxes? They also sell that one in pink/purple.

I think I'm going to get one of the clear cans and this small tackle box I found. Looks like the perfect size: http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Small-Sided-Tackle-Box/dp/B0000BY57W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425178486&sr=8-1&keywords=small+tackle+box

u/Penguintx · 2 pointsr/Fishing_Gear

How about a shoulder pack.

u/demosthenes83 · 2 pointsr/Catan

A large tackle box works very well, along with baggies for the different pieces/markers of course. I don't remember what model, but this looks right: http://www.amazon.com/Plano-758-005-4-Drawer-Tackle-Box/dp/B000E39T28

Tiles go in the top right, borders (we also have long plastic borders) go in the flat space on top. Cards (separated into appropriate categories) go in the top drawer, pieces in the next two.

If you want to be sure, find your nearest outdoor store (we went to bass pro shops), take all your catan boxes in and sit on the floor putting stuff into different tackle boxes until you find the solution that fits you best.

While the really useful boxes are nice (since someone else mentioned them), I wouldn't recommend them for catan. I do use them for Mage Knight though, but that's a very different set of pieces.

u/Yoyoge · 2 pointsr/Fishing_Gear

I use a small shoulder bag. I can fit a couple of very small planos, power bait and a beer in the main section. It's got a holder for fishing pliers as well.

Hey man, some quick tips on your bag. First, figure out its purpose. Is it designed to get you from work to home, where you have more resources? Or are you planning on being supported by it for longer periods of time?

-Lose the can opener and get something like this. That thing is way too much weight to carry for the possibility that you may have to open a can of spaghetti-o's.

-You're going to need more water, especially if you plan on eating those brick rations. Throw in some bottled water and just swap it out every so often.

-You need better first aid. As I see it, you pretty much have pills and bandaids. Since you're just starting out, I recommend going to a sporting goods store and picking up two things-- a premade first aid kit (whatever size/price you're comfortable with, as long as you know how to use everything in it) and a small tackle box to keep all those pills in. Write the medication type, how many mg per pill, and expiration date on each compartment. No sense in carrying around all those bottles.

-You need a better multitool. You don't need to buy an eighty dollar Leatherman, but that thing looks like you got it out of a cereal box. A couple of weeks ago I picked up this knife and multitool set from Home Depot, and they're pretty good for backups. Husky hand tools also have a lifetime warranty.

-You need a better flashlight. /r/flashlight can help you out here.

-You could probably stand to lose a blade or two.

-What do you have planned for the smoke bombs?

-Check out /r/bugout.

I used Rubbermaid totes for the longest time, but eventually found Plano totes. They have a positive latch, and the seal groove is a bit better. The 68 quart tote is a good size.

If you meant the tacklebox, here it is on Amazon.

u/Hunyock · 2 pointsr/minipainting

I've got a couple of these and I love them. Less than $7 from Amazon, but you can sometimes find them at Home Depot and Cabela's. Plano Deep Stowaway: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001447AW2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1422325011&sr=8-1&dpPl=1&dpID=41b4uF1KcfL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SY200_QL40

u/GardensOfBoydstylon · 2 pointsr/Netrunner

I carry all the tokens included in 2 core sets in one of these Plano boxes. It's not the most efficient use, but I LOVE having the dividers, it makes play so much more convenient.

u/MacGhille · 1 pointr/XWingTMG

My solution is the Plano angled tackle box: http://amzn.to/2iGo49J that holds 72 small-base ships. It is out of stock online, but nearly every Walmart carries it for 59.99. Additionally, it has two smaller containers that are perfect for tokens and additional storage.

This is my set-up, and the Plano kit is essential for my concise storage and lack of jostling during transport: http://imgur.com/gallery/Syn5K

For the Epic ships, I bought Stanley toolboxes because they are cheap lock well and could be used for tools in the future if I discover alternative storage.

I do not display anything, as I do not feel possessing these toys is something that merits commemoration or observation. I don't place the cars and family pegs from LIFE on a shelf, so it seems silly to me to exalt pieces from a board game regardless of how intricate the pieces or rules are. I enjoy it, but my shelves are filled with personal items and commemorations of lost family members. An A-wing would feel disrespectful.

Anyway, I now have to make a purchase of more storage, and while I think the Plano cases are brilliant, I am now looking at Feldherr foam kits on Amazon for basic storage. They have several generic kits that hold a large number of small-base ships while still affording specialized storage (through pick'n'pluck foam) for large-based ships.

In the end, it will come down to bang-for-buck, and the WalMart plano cases look to be able to hold their own very easily.

Happy Hunting!

We have a trunk that's filled with emergency supplies/food/our hammocks/maps. We keep it chained & locked to the jeep. We can also sleep in the back when we go camping, which is awesome. We also plan to have kids so the JKU just made more sense.

I use this plastic tackle box with adjustable dividers for a similar purpose:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E39T5K

It does make it much easier to setup and tear down. It requires more storage space of course, but worth it. Great for Le Havre and Agricola.

This is the best idea I've seen so far! I just picked up this item, I think it should do the trick:

Personally, I use this monster that I got from Amazon. I race almost every week so I needed something that could hold all my tools, parts, fasteners, tires and all that stuff and be easily portable to and from the track. It has tons of space and lots of little organizers and drawers to keep things separated. They make smaller versions of the same thing and ones with fewer drawers. I actually am only using 3 of the 4 pull-out drawers right now anyway.

u/aktiv8d · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

Thanks for the input!
Strangely enough, I used that exact Plano box for organizing band-aids and had an extra smaller case. This one seems to fit all the boxes vertically, although horizontal is preferred (more of the blade description shows).

u/Darwins_Dog · 1 pointr/boardgames

I got a pack of these. They're a good value and small enough to fit in just about any game box. Only complaint is that they have one shallow compartment at the front and don't include enough dividers for every space, but it hasn't actually been an issue yet.

I'm unsure of the dimensions, but I've wanted to try out these kind of fishing line dispensers... the little black bit is rubber so should hold the wire from 'retracting.'

Depending on how many minis you intend to store and tote with you, you can get a larger size. Plano is a great brand for it, though.

u/AskJames · 1 pointr/rpg

This, along with a label gun if you're really looking to organize. I have a big tacklebox, with a fliptop lid for the big minis (Hee hee, oxymoron!) and then it has 4 trays with individual lines

Kinda like this

u/mpmarsee · 1 pointr/dicemasters

I like that one a lot, actually. I like the two-layer feature there. Handy. I've been using a larger (too large for this) Plano box that I had lying around for Heroclix but I want to replace it. I guess I'm just planning on holding out for the official setup box for now.

u/NoisyPiper27 · 1 pointr/bagpipes

For mobility, I use a fish tackle box. Mine is only a 2 shelf one, but my old instructor used a 3 tray one, and my current pipe major also uses a 3 tray. For most people who don't have a band or students to carry supplies for, a 2 tray is probably good enough.

http://www.amazon.com/Plano-2-Tray-Tackle-Metallic-White/dp/B000E3E126

Mine's that, only from the late 90s.

u/Bizzerker_Bauer · 1 pointr/boardgames

Are you actually flying? Because I'm working on packing as many games as possible into a file box right now for easy transport, if you could do that instead. You can usually condense things like cards and pieces enough to sort them into smaller dex boxes and plano cases, and the hanging file folders work well for holding game boards and rulebooks AND keeping them sorted. I also found some small, cheap tool boxes that are almost exactly the right size for cards in deck boxes AND to fit inside the file box, so things stay sorted and are easy to unpack.

If you can't do anything like that, I'd find some plastic containers or cardboard boxes that are the right size to hold the cards for the games and pack the cards in those, with dividers to keep them from getting mixed together, and just put said container into the suitcase. I'm not sure how many other pieces you'll have, but I'd look up plano boxes for sorting them, or just put them into small ziplock bags and then all into one bigger bag if necessary. Maybe wrap the boards in some shirts or something to keep them from banging around too much and that's probably all you need to do.

EDIT: Here's what I've used to help condense things a bit

u/mindguru88 · 1 pointr/boardgames

Throw that insert in the trash.

There are lots of alternatives that could suit you well for storage of your various components. I usually go with Ouchless Hair Elastics for cards, when possible. For games with a lot of little bits, snack-sized baggies work wonders for organization. When able, I store miniatures in a Plano box that fits standard box-size. For games with lots of fiddly bits, I go with 5-compartment Plano or 6-compartment Plano boxes. They don't look as neat or work 100% as well as a custom foamcore or Broken Token solution, but they are a heck of a lot cheaper, in many cases.

Any of these options will keep your pieces from getting all disorganized in the box, especially when games are stored vertically. Means quicker set-up and less stress for your fun-time.

Your run of the mill graphite rod is fairly light already.

Pack light on fishing gear, knife is multi purpose and you should be able to fit a few, ideal prize lures in a box like this.

I just bought two of these

I've only had them 3 or so days. Similar to the plano you linked. It's kind of thin plastic but fits my cot, tent, extension cord, duct tape, pillow, and blanket in one. Pots, pans, cooking stuff in another.

I'm a little worried about the durability of the weight on the wheels, but the one linked looked like it may be slightly thicker. The one I linked doesn't have an o-ring.

Those action packers are thick sturdy plastic.

I made a post a couple days ago and someone recommended Rubbermaid roughnecks

I've been debating going over to homedepot and getting this 2-pack though. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Sterilite-Footlocker-Storage-Box-2-Pack-18429002/204303284

Sorry, I was thinking of a different box. I was thinking of this.

This is what I use, and I love it. You can get it for $40 at Wal-Mart. I'm actually going to be posting my storage setup tonight. I don't know if it actually gets you too much more space than what you have though. The one other piece of advice I do have is to not be afraid to cut some plastic.

Every time someone asks about bags, the Midway ones are suggested. I am sure they are great, but I actually went a different route by buying a soft sided fishing/tackle bag.

This one....25 bucks.

Lots of pockets, velcro dividers inside so you can create padded sections, etc...

  • I use this Plano tackle system to store and transport my essential D&D DM stuff. There are lots of cubbyholes that fit 7-dice-sets, including all the individual cubbyholes inside the smaller tackle boxes, which you can buy separately.

  • I have a bunch of cheap Chessex dice bags that I bought at CoolStuffInc along with other gaming supplies. I generally use those to transport dice these days. I used to reserve some compartments in one of the smaller Plano tackle boxes for dice, but then I started using Koplow jumbo dice when I DM, and those won't fit in the Plano tackle box spaces.

  • I use one of these Container Store Multi-Drawer Cabinets (the largest, 44-drawer one) to store and organize dice at home.

I'm like you and have a couple clear parts organizers full of random parts. I like the ones that /u/louky posted for larger items like power supplies. I've been looking at this one on amazon for a little bit and like the idea of having an organizer for my organizers and a place to put tools in the top.

I use the Milwaukee Stackable organizers for work. They have removable bins in the main unit. But I think that they may be too big and bulky for this application and they aren't able to make anything inside easily seen like a clear one.

Depending on how handy you are, you could always buy a bulk amount of those parts organizers and build a bookshelf style unit where you can slide in an individual organizer in to each shelf.

Edit: Formatting

u/billFoldDog · 1 pointr/organization

A fishing tacklebox or two ought to do it.

These plano boxes are stackable and can be inserted into Plano tackleboxes like this one

u/althanan · 1 pointr/XWingTMG

I use a different Plano box to carry around my stuff, a shallower version of this -- https://www.amazon.com/Frabill-Plano-Waterproof-Stowaway-Utility/dp/B00FPQRHV4/ref=pd_sim_200_24?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8KRHEGYJ4GPF3AN6PGPA

Obviously that doesn't allow for Epic ships, but I have 10 fighters from two factions, all the accouterments, and a couple slots to spare. It's secure, fits nicely in the bag I carry around, and in the size that I have gives a snug fit to the ships so they don't bounce around too much, without being tight so as it puts pressure on them.
