Protip: You can make "Retr0bright" which is a special gel that is intended to remove yellowing from old plastics, restoring them to their original color. Or just buy cream hair developer (creame peroxide) and carefully apply it (wear gloves), then cover with plastic so it doesn't dry out, and let it sit in the sun for a few days. This will also eat up the yellow, especially on the middle of the toy where it's noticeably yellowed (note that I am not a pro toy restorer, just used this on old C64 keyboards in the past)

u/feeltheglee · 8 pointsr/TrueReddit

Probably about $20. All you need is some hair bleach and hair dye.

u/NosferaToot · 7 pointsr/Flipping

You can just buy some 40 volume creme from amazon or a hair salon. I used it on my NES 2 years ago and it still looks like its brand new.
Heres the link to the stuff I use

Get something like this and spray it on your back pack if you use one, and spray it on and maybe wear the same shoes always on public transportation. You can put some into a little spray bottle and travel with that if you like.

I'm not OP but I have medium brown hair (level 4 or 5) and I use Feria 74 Copper Shimmer. It makes my hair like this!

Seconding Manic Panic. My friends and I use the Amplified version. Easy to use, cheap, amd works really well. Amazon link for Manic Panic Flash Lightning Hair Bleach Kit 40 Volume

I have had tons of different colors of hair, including purple, green, and blue. Honestly, every time i've gotten my hair dyed at a salon, it gets on EVERYTHING. However, when I do it myself (I get the dye from Sally's) it stays on my hair perfectly fine. I've just learned how to dye my hair myself. I use pravana and directions.

You can just use hair developer. The main active ingredient in RetroBright is hydrogen peroxide. There are much easier ways to get hydrogen perxoide gel than making it yourself. Here is some on amazon

You still follow the same process. Paint it on the part, wrap it saran wrap to keep it from drying out etc.

u/Teejsaurus · 3 pointsr/ftm

It's this stuff! It has somehow stayed a really nice color this whole time since first dying it. I had used mostly manic panic before, with some pravana here and there, but both of those always seem to fade pretty fast for me, but this has stayed really nice.

I'm glad u/MalavethMorningrise already addressed the lack of acid in that recipe, so I'll tackle product recommendations instead. Generally if I'm ordering paste I go through Henna Caravan but that can get pretty expensive. If I'm mixing my own paste, and I have been for my last few batches, I grab powder off of Amazon. I've made some really nice, dark-staining pastes with this stuff.

As far as recipes go, most basic recipes are pretty much the same. I've used the one-step recipe on Beachcombers but you can use the Henna Caravan KISS recipe too. Just check amounts - I believe the Beachcombers recipe starts with 100 grams and then KISS recipe is for 20.

One thing I've done in the past is got a little spray bottle, like the kind you can get in the travel section of a pharmacy. Looks like this.

Filled it with the hottest hot sauce I could find. Never had to use it, but it's not an illegal product and I figured it would follow the same principle.

u/BearintheVale · 2 pointsr/amiugly

I would use a brush-in thickening powder like this while using a masculine eyebrow stencil, or else just buy a decent natural look mascara and brush it through your existing eyebrows to adhere to the hair that’s already there and help them look less patchy.

u/boxofmysteries · 2 pointsr/blackladies

I did some researching myself because I was interested and I think this is the one she was talking about

u/taylor-in-progress · 2 pointsr/ftm

If you want to do this I'd use dye that's made for facial hair, so it won't dye your skin too. I bought this but haven't used it yet. I am pretty sure there are drugstore brands as well.

It's going to depends on how much hair grows there though. I'm about 10 months on T and I grow a full mustache, the hair is just light colored and hasn't become dark / terminal yet. If the hair is more patchy or super short it is less likely to work.

u/TheLonelySamurai · 2 pointsr/ftm

Definitely looks like heat rash/pimples/boils from sweating and heat. I would really suggest putting an ample amount of an anti-chafing powder under them and also sprinkle this liberally inside your binder.

Possibly keeping a small little bottle on you like this filled with the powder on you so you can quickly re-apply during the day would also really help. The applicator tip will also help you with precision application that doesn't leave your hands super powdery.

I never had issues with most of my hair, just my hairline. So it's pretty easy to just dab some on directly to my hairline and I just kind of massage with my fingertips (not my nails) starting from my forehead and moving back toward the crown of my head. I really only work back a couple inches from the start of my hairline. I just repeat this so it's spread evenly, as a bonus the massaging feels nice. I only ever did it as a deep treatment, so I could be more generous with how much oil I was using since I would just be washing it out. Mixing it with a lighter oil also helps thin it out a bit. For a deep treatment, I would leave it on for an hour at the very least, but I would try to leave it on longer or overnight.

If you want to put it all over your scalp, I think one of these would probably help. http://www.amazon.com/Soft-Style-Applicator-Bottle-oz/dp/B001MP7I2A/ref=sr_1_15?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1417321310&sr=1-15

There are a ton of videos on youtube about castor oil and hair growth if you want more tips (or I can tell you everything about hair I know, but I could go on forever, lol). Search for "castor oil hair growth" or "castor oil challenge" and you'll get a ton of results and before and afters.

Yes it is. I don’t really dye roots, because I actually prefer ombre hair looks. However, many of my friends who also dye hair says it’s what they use for touching up roots. Also Sally’s (at least where I live) has it a little bit more expensive then amazon but here’s a tub of it: L'Oreal Quick Blue Powder Bleach, 16 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000A409J8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5apsDb5NS3H3J

If it’s too much for that tub there’s always pouch versions available at Sally’s or Amazon which is equal to 1 scoop that comes with the tub: L'Oreal Quick Blue Powder Bleach, 1 oz (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072QRJGP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PcpsDbWWME38W

Mix with 2 oz of your creme developer (I recommend Salon Care) and boom.

There is a great review on Amazon under LOreal quick blue bleach that explains a lot of the steps needed to go from brown to blonde but maybe there will be some helpful info for you. Also try youtube.

On mobile, tried to copy the link for the review, hopefully it worked. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000A409J8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1494531504&sr=8-1&keywords=loreal+quick+blue+powder+bleach

I lost a ton of hair a while ago to chemo. Both my doctor and my hair stylist advised me to get a shorter haircut to help disguise the thin-ness. I got it cut above my shoulders, which definitely helped.

Also, I bought hair fill-in powder and literally painted over the parts of my scalp you could see through my thinning hair. It was really astounding how much thicker my hair looked once the shiny white scalp was covered.

One thing that was always surprising to me was that no one really noticed how thin my hair got. Sure, someone who really knew me and my hair (my mother, sister, stylist) could tell. But with my hair up and my scalp camouflaged it wasn't as obvious to the rest of the world as it was to me.

Hopefully your doctor can help you figure out what's up and you can get back on the right track again!

After doing some researches I've decided to use exactly the same product as yours... So it's a bit reassuring you are using the same ! I've chose to buy these products:

The last part I'm struggling to understand is the immediate after bleaching process. I understand that I shouldn't stay with bleached hair, and I should use either a toner or a hair dye on my hair. Idk what colour should I expect to get (probably yellow) after bleaching. Can I put any tone of blonde in my hair in order to cover the yellow or am I oblige to use a ash colour?

I really like that colour but I'm afraid it would not really look like this over my bleached hair.

Otherwise there's this one I like but I fear that my hair won't be light enough to hold the colour.

I used to have this problem as well. I've 100% solved it. I hardly ever have more than a speck or two that sticks.

  • Buy these.
  • Fill them with distilled water.
  • Spread out the beans (I do this on the Encore hopper lid) and give them a few sprays from 6-12 inches away.
  • Dump the beans in the hopper, wipe off the lid so there's no moisture left.
  • Enjoy static-less grinding!

This is my grinder after a week or more of not cleaning it one bit.

I mean you clould get away without bleaching it, BUT it wont be the same shade as the color the dye says it is. I highly recomend the manic panic bleach lightning kit i think its called. its like 10 bucks comes with mixing bowel, brush, gloves, bleach, and developer!https://www.amazon.com/Manic-Panic-Flash-Lightning-Bleach/dp/B002GENWU8

/u/naive_eve is the best pseudo-big sister I could ever ask for. She checks up on me, offers advice, makes me smile. I'm so thankful she's in my life!

I went through /u/PapaFargo and I picked hair chalk it because I have never seen this before. He said he would use this in his beard and while looking through his list, there were other creative art related items so I think there is a strong creative side to this person. I wish I had the confidence to wear colourful hair chalk!

u/MommaWar · 1 pointr/randomactsofamazon

I think my absolute favorite from u/PapaFargo (http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/28IPREMH9H91V ) is the hair chalk https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076YB3B2J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_zt21AbQ83FFKQ
And it's because of your reasoning for it. Lol. My second favorite is this Dr.Who journal, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QLDQG12/?coliid=I1M5QVGU7031B2&colid=28IPREMH9H91V&psc=0&ref_=lv_vv_lig_dp_it#

I found this reddish purple that says it's permanent? But your stylist could probably do a better job than a box dye so I would recommend speaking with her and seeing what are your options if you decide to go permanent. I could totally be wrong and that color could be permanent so don't lose hope! We can make this gorgeous color happen 😍 or dye trying!
Also don't stress over fading too much cause darker colors tend to take longer and purple fades prettily. Some of my favorite colors were after a few washes and some fading.

u/evelyndaly · 1 pointr/FancyFollicles

I also have light brown hair, and I've currently dyed it with Feria 74 Deep Copper. It came out very similar to your sample photo, and so far it has lasted longer than henna, which I've frequently used in the past.

u/tropjeune · 1 pointr/femalehairadvice

Blue shampoo (overtone makes one) would be better to get rid of the orange than purple shampoo which is for yellowness. I use this shampoo in platinum for bi-weekly brightening but I think the blue shade on the ends would bust the orange right out. Don’t leave it on for longer than 5 mins though or you’ll risk your hair actually being blue. I also really, really recommend the platinum one if you want a more cool, ash toned platinum — my hair is naturally a bit red so it gets brassy so easily!

Per my stylist’s advice to me in the past, you can also try blue/purple dye on the hair for like 30 seconds and wash it off right away

PS they sell this shampoo at ultra so if you use the blue just once to get the orange out you could return it for a refund lol 🤷🏼‍♀️ gotta be resourceful!

This is a bit anecdotal, but I've never found henna dyes to fade in hair as long as you get real stuff. It doesn't have to be red/brown either, you can get all kinds of colors with this different mixes that they have with indigo, different flower powders etc. This is what I've always used and it has lots of different colors you can get.
