My nice and new Classic Army Nemesis x9. It was either this or an ARP9, but I wanted a full metal gun for once so I went with this short boi. Internally it's still completely stock, and I scooped up a couple extra 120 rd mid caps. The sight, suppressor, and grip are all aftermarket.

Please buy a 20 dollar red dot from amazon, Its a toy gun!

I can vouch for the cheap sights, they are perfectly fine. Spend money on the gun to make it shoot better, not the sight to view the bbs :)

Edit: Here is the sight i have here and [here] (https://www.amazon.com/Sights-Screen-Shield-Tactical-Protector/dp/B01N4P5XX7/ref=pd_sim_200_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DF7ZCNEQBJBNY7Y9FMV8) is the cover i use to protect it.

That Sparc AR red dot is worth about $200 on Amazon, PSA, and Midway. 2 MOA. So $445 AR with red dot or $200 red dot and $245 AR, whichever makes you happier.

u/tehspiah · 14 pointsr/airsoft

I would say to ditch the light and go for a regular foregrip, buy the smart charger and red dot sight from amazon, and go to evike for bbs

I have a nearly identical LOOKING holographic sight at home, it was $18 on Amazon. Not sure if it's the same,. It looks damn close.

u/nucleartime · 7 pointsr/Nerf

Yes, but I'm pretty sure it's just easier to buy a cheap airsoft red dot.

http://www.amazon.com/NcStar-Tippmann-Reflex-Sight-Weaver/dp/B000S6CYFK/

This one should clamp down to actually fit N-Strike rails if you don't to bother with rail adapters.

u/Gildan_Bladeborn · 6 pointsr/Nerf

This is a reflex sight - it projects an aiming point onto a lens, which makes it seem to the person looking through it that it's actually being projected onto whatever surface it's being aimed towards (without actually doing that).

You'll also need some manner of Nerf to picatinny rail converter to use them with a Hypnos, as Rival rails only "look" like picatinny.

You're not kidding!

u/hikerjamesb · 5 pointsr/airsoft

Absolutely invaluable. Especially for dark CQB areas where you need superhuman vision to acquire a target with regular iron sights.

My recommendation would definitely be the Bushnell trs-25 which is a real steel red dot. Very little parallax shift, waterproof, lifetime warranty, good battery life. They've been on amazon for just over $40 lately which is incredible. People were saying they were good value when they were selling for closer to $100 a while ago. I believe it needs an 0.83" riser for lower 1/3 cowitness or a 1" riser for absolute cowitness with iron sights.

Then a cheaper option, but more suited to CQB (due to parallax shift) is this style open red dot. The different selectable dot shapes are good for faster target acquisition at closer range. They hold zero fine in my experience, but will lose it if you bash them so again better for CQB where that matters less.

u/zxj4k3xz · 5 pointsr/airsoft

I've shot a couple Krytac vectors. The performance is pretty mediocre for the price. Trigger in particular feels awful. I've heard of some performance issues as well.

WE Hi-capas aren't awful, they're just not as good as most other hi-capas. Also, the weirder it is the harder it'll be to find a holster.

The mask the helmet comes with isn't properly impact rated. You want at least ANSI Z87.1+

For a bit more you can get a Bushnell TRS25 which I've heard is excellent for the price.I'd bet the Feyachi or whatever other brand is the same as the Evike one. I've heard the Fieldsport micro dot is good as well.

u/foam_data · 5 pointsr/Nerf

Ignore all the Nerf ones, this fits on the Nerf rail and has real zeroing. You can also get Nerf to Picatinny adaptors. also available from Narrowbase then you can fit any sight from simple to frankly a bit silly.

I just use a basic reflex sight set to a 6" circle at 30-40ft, great for snap shooting. Any further out and you are wasting darts. My sight on the Rampatrooper.

Hey pro tip, Amazon sells really decent ones(nothing super special but very functional) for like $15.

The one I painted and used on my Stampede is an NcStar Tippmann Red Dot Sight with Weaver Base and is $9.95 on Amazon. It fit onto a Nerf rail without any modification.

And Zombona is right that sights are not terribly useful on Nerf, but they are neat looking. :-)

u/Klatchco · 3 pointsr/NFA

The SiCo Hybrid 46 is a great 'if you only buy one' choice for 9mm & 5.56. Keep in mind that for 9mm pistols, you'll have to use a red dot and/or raised sights to clear the suppressor's diameter.

If you want to use the Hybrid on pistol caliber carbines (e.g., a 9mm AR-15) then you'll kind of have to stick with SiCo's ASR mounting system b/c Dead Air doesn't make 9mm [Key-mo] (https://deadairsilencers.com/product/key-mo/) muzzle attachments (yet). You can use direct thread, but that still requires buying those attachments so might as well purchase quick detach (QD) mounts since they cost roughly the same and if used correctly won't 'walk off' like direct threading can. Oh, and Hybrid endcaps

I put one of these: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B001COQOZI/?tag=dp-us-20 on mine and love it even more now.

u/Pattycaaakes · 3 pointsr/airsoft

Check out UTG scopes. They make great (for airsoft)(I have one of their red dot sights and it's really high quality) products that are designed for real steal weapons. So while they might be a budget brand for real firearms they are great for airsoft because there is no recoil or anything that would cause your sight to lose it's zero.

I know the one I linked is more expensive than the one you posted about but they have some that are less expensive than the one I linked.

u/Kyvalmaezar · 2 pointsr/airsoft

If it's within your budget, this is my go to CQB gun:

TM M93R with folding stock (it says its for the gbb version but it does fit albeit loosely), couple extended mags, replacement slide, and a red dot. The replacement slide has a slot for a silencer but I don't have one so I can't recommend one.

For that price, and for an AR pistol, I'd recommend one of these

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/ar15

Yes, this thought occurred to me as I was typing this. I think this evening I might mess around with it and see if there is a sweet spot on the nut that would still allow the QD functionality without the loosening of the mount.

Lesson learned! Second lesson in red dots here....first lesson was that I bought a UTG red dot (very similar to THIS one) on the same day that I bought the AR a few years back. Thought it was super tacticool. Little did younger, less knowledgable, me realize that I just bought a honking POS. Wouldn't hold zero, fuzzy dot, big, bulky, etc....

So I used irons for the past 4 years until I decided I wanted a dot. Should have been saving that whole time and I could have gotten whatever the hell I wanted, but life gets in the way of luxury purchases like optics (at least when you're not counting on them for your life, which I am most definitely not) so when I finally bit the boolit, PA fit the bill!

u/sgtscout · 2 pointsr/airsoft

Safety glasses should be strong enough. Check if there are any markings that say "ANSI rated". If you have a paintball mask that will definitely work though, and I would go with that. If you get shot in the tooth there is a good chance that it will crack/be damaged. Not something you want to mess with.

Red dots/ACOG/magnifying sights are plenty useful. You can get a pretty decent NCStar sight for $25. There is also one for $10 if you want a better primary or sidearm, or something else. For a pseudo-ACOG this will work. For a holo (I prefer these over red dots as they give a better sight picture and reticle) this should be fine.

What kind of gun do you like? M4, AK, G36C, MP5, etc.

What kind of pistol? 1911, Glock, M9, p226, etc.

Is that Canadian dollars or USD?

Edit: Problem with Canadian airsoft is that everything is 2-3 times more expensive. So if you can, buy from a U.S. retailer and go for the "Canadian legal" option, and they should adjust it for you, albeit at an extra fee. But $30 is nothing compared to the $200 it might cost to get the same gun in canada.

Edit 2: I'm retarded and can't Canadian airsoft. Evike offers this service for $8, which should make the trip over the border easy. The only other additional fee would be buying an upgraded spring, but that's extremely cheap.

u/hijacked86 · 2 pointsr/ar15

A Magpul Pro rear BUIS can be had fro $81 on Amazon. Just something to consider as it's in the same price range as the DD A1.5 suggested by another user and far less expensive than the LMT. If you're really looking for a fixed sight though that's a diff story.

20% off MTM Tactical ammo boxes and gun vise

Vortex SPARC for $160, though I think that's only an okay price.

20% off UTG stuff if that's your bag.

'Save big' on shooting accessories - the prices seem pretty meh tho.

Assorted optics here, though the prices aren't blowing me away.

Some upcoming deals for Tipton/Caldwell stuff, but they won't open for me.

Ha - I had no idea that FireField (lol) made NV optics.

u/VladStark · 2 pointsr/Firearms

For $200 I recommend this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWB3DIM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

for $20 I recommend this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y3SZEJC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I own both, and so far both have been reliable, you'd think the $20 one would be a POS but it is surprisingly well built. And if you aim it at a mirror in dim light the red dot in the scope is almost impossible to see... meanwhile, the Votex one is very obvious, almost like you're pointing a laser towards someone, so for stealth the cheaper one is better. But for build quality and toughness I am guessing the Votex is superior.

u/exotwist · 2 pointsr/airsoft

I like the riser but not the tan sight. if it were black I'd be on board tho (here is the one I have). on the PDW I also enjoy a FAT suppressor flying out the front. like this one

Here's one

Mine is not this brand. There are literally dozens of different brands of the exact same thing on Amazon ranging in price from $16-30. I'm pretty sure they are all coming out of the same crap, generic Chinese factory and rebranded.

u/apeliott · 2 pointsr/airsoft

Oh, it's a cheap Chinese one I guess. It's a Pinty? https://www.amazon.com/Pinty-Holographic-Tactical-Riflescope-Patterns/dp/B01BF5LYGW/ref=pd_sim_200_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01BF5LYGW&pd_rd_r=409SV03DA8DAD5D25TF5&pd_rd_w=au59Z&pd_rd_wg=lXrjz&psc=1&refRID=409SV03DA8DAD5D25TF5

I mean, I wasn't expecting the best build quality for the price, but it's actually rather good. I'm just a little disappointed that the sight seems a bit blurred, but I don't know if it's the sight or my eyes that are off. I thought it was the sights, then my eyes, now I'm not sure.

/u/Potss I've decided to snag some M855A1 on my next paycheck despite its high price. That being said I would like to find a reliable and cheap round for plinking, I assume the M193 would be the way to go? A Youtube channel I recently subscribed to, Garand Thumb, seems to endorse LAX ammo & Freedom Munitions with minor, perhaps negligible discounts.

Now I've read some stories here and there about FM going kaboom, but they failed to mention if these rounds were reloaded, remanufactured, or factory new. I've not heard any similar stories about LAX but I haven't searched much either. Do you have any experience or knowledge of either of these manufacturers? Note I would only consider these for practice and plinking but no serious use.

Secondly, do you know if ammo makers (in general) offer any sort of compensation if your firearm is damaged or destroyed due to faulty ammo?

Finally, back on the subject of BUIS and I might have asked you this already, I saw that the Magpul MBUS Pro has an LR version which has an adjustment knob with 50m increments. I know that optics are the way to go over iron sights, but I'd still like to shoot until I decide on an optic. So with that being said, is the adjustment really necessary for up to 300m? Is it worth the extra $$? What if I decide to shoot with just irons on some days for added challenge, would that change anything? 300m is the largest range we have around here.

Vortex SPARC AR

Or

Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot

Or

HOLOSUN HS403B

All are good, but for the prices the Primary Arms or Holosun are a better bet due to the 50k hours battery life.

Then buy a lightweight magnifier with QD mount so you can either leave it on our take it off depending on your current setup or shooting preference.

That's all pretty much in the $300 range for both the dot and the magnifier.

So the sight can be yours for $25 as well, or $30 with the deflector. The deflector attaches to the rail in front of the sight. The optic I have is missing the screw that goes between the rail slots but it'll still hold nice to the rail. I kinda like it like this because it wont slide and I don't have to worry about aligning it on the rail.

It'll come with the Allen key and a spare battery, as well as the original box (and the instructions if I can find them)

It works w/ real steal just fine for me.
You would need to get either a picatinny rail riser for your AK or an AK with picatinny rails for sights.

u/THI-Centurion · 1 pointr/airsoft

For one, the cyma ak doesn't come with rails so mounting it would require an additional optics mount.

For two I may be just bad at internetting right now but I have no idea what battery/charger you get when you buy that bundle so can't comment on it.

mag, mask, and goggles, and bb's totally fine buy the .25g BB's for slightly more, just remember to wash bio-BB's before use. Lots of youtube tutorials for that.

P.S. if you choose a gun that is optics friendly, or decide to later buy a mount for that gun, amazon has a whole bunch of cheap red dots like this that work totally fine. I use 1 of these specifically as my cqc sight and I've never had a problem with it even in sunny conditions.

u/the4thaggie · 1 pointr/Glocks

That's the Mako one for like $30 on Amazon. I was testing it to see if an optic mount like that would be good for a reflex sight. It's not horrible (the concept of an optic that high off the bore axis), but i've realized that I want MOS milling.

I regret buying that cheap plastic thing. The light is great for the price (super bright and good strobe) and the reflex sight is ok once I got it dialed in. The Mako optic mount is crap. For starters, the part where the replacement trigger pin goes in extrudes into trigger guard area making it uncomfortable to shoot. The replacement front rail is too small and made my light fly off at the range (where it is normally snug on the Glock rail). Finally, it's a bear to get off.

I am getting alot of shit for the "mall ninja" accessories, but I'm glad I opted for cheaper to see what works well in my intended setup. Im glad I didn't spend $300 for an ALG (too high off bore axis), $300 for a brand-name light (this one is fucking bright), and glad the $20 reflex sight does pretty well. I can interchange it and my main red dot for my AR-15 in .22lr.

u/daeedorian · 1 pointr/guns

Isn't it the $60 one in this list? Because as far as I can see, those are exactly the same as this and this and this and this. I hate to be down on your new toy, but in my honest opinion, even plastic open sights are better than a sub-$100 optic on an AR.

u/JohnTheKhan · 1 pointr/airsoft

I love it, has different reticle options and yes it cosights with the front without the need for a riser. Plus if it gets shot out it's only $18. Plus they throw in 5 batteries!

Picked up a 34 a couple weeks ago and knew I couldn’t keep it stock for very long. After a DD Threaded Barrel and Compensator , TTI Magwell , RMR , Trijicon Suppressor Height Night Sights , and the most annoying trigger job I’ve ever done (Pyramid Flat Face ) it is complete.
It took me at least an hour of messing with the trigger to get it working because when I first installed it, it would travel all the way to the rear and not fire. I had to take the entire thing apart and adjust the tiny screws to get good trigger travel and reset. Besides that headache the trigger is amazing.
I should also add that the stippling doesn’t look perfect because I did it. I’d rather get a super aggressive feel and have it look decent at a distance, than have it slide in my hands but look perfect.

u/mr_cwt · -2 pointsr/guns

Just buy this one from amazon. It's $423 with free one day shipping (depending on where you live). They have the best return policy and you get it almost instantly. RMR's retail for like $600 but nobody actually pays that price. I'm assuming the $323.99 RMR is a Type 1 which has the flickering problem if mounted on a pistol. You always want to make sure it's the type 2. The RM01 (non-adjustable) is sometimes a bit cheaper than the RM06 (adjustable), but obviously that isn't what's being advertised in the $323.99 version.
