Roughly $25. Same price at best buy too as it seem like this was a retail purchase.

>The other thing that I really appreciate is the easy-open packaging. I took out a pair of scissors planning to do battle with the plastic packaging and saw a little tab with "easy open" on it in the back. You just pull it down and you can access your product - without a pair of scissors.

u/MrLongJeans · 12 pointsr/LucioRollouts

280 total hours.Open by saying I think r/Luciorollouts is vital to lucio main development and they epitomize his playstyle but rollouts themselves are just practice.

>Is it less effective to use right click than scroll?

Yes, absolutely. But only if you have an appropriate mouse. I recently replaced my mouse and my new one had a plastic scrollwheel with stiff clicks when spinning. Totally destroyed my ability to wall-skim. I threw it in the trash. If you have a mouse like that than RMB is probably better.

There's a simple,$25 solution. Logitech m500 is a simple wired mouse with thumb buttons. It's affordable with a 3 year warranty. What matters though is that it has a frictionless, heavyweight metal scrollwheel that has a button that toggles it between freespin and locked/click mode. I play it locked mode. So even though it isn't frictionless, the heavy metal allows you to get good momentum off the flick and gives you really precise control between quick, bunny-hoppy wallskims and longer spins that create a wider window/margin of error when doing rollouts.. Can't over-exaggerate the importance of this mouse IME. Just spend the $25 and get a perfect rollout mouse in the mail on Monday.

> tried it but couldn't get used to it

I delayed trying it but if you have secondary keybinds for jump (RMB) it's easy to make the switch. Took me less than a day.

> What keybindings are the best?I

Obviously whatever works best for you but only after you've tried alternatives. I too use RMB for secondary jump for sustained wall rides in addition to scrollwheel. I use the forward thumb button for boop. I use spacebar for crossfaide. My goal is to have abilities with splitsecond timing on the mouse. Space is great for crossfade because it's an easy button to hold for long periods without fatigue. Space is bad for jump and boop because it's too imprecise in its timing.

> 2:Are rollouts important, how important are they and are they essential

Short answer is no. Y'know how in soccer players practice juggling the ball up in the air with their feet even though that juggling is never used in game? They do it because it builds foot coordination which is applicable to other ingame skills. Rollouts are a lot like that. It's rare that you should use a fullspeed rollout and abandon the team after spawn. But rollouts require precision in your wall-skim technique and excellent map knowledge. By mastering rollouts, you gain the ability to use rollout-level speed and agility 100% of the time during the match no matter where you are. A good lucio needs to be able to move between his flankers and his backliine at any moment using rollout-like mobility. And it feels AMAZING once you get to that point in like a month.

> I want to get to know the basics first because I only have 10 hours on Lucio

Just start with the best keybinds and build organically no matter how strange it feels at first. Don't study or train. Just have fun with it. Sometimes you'll be in the mood to watch vids and practice rollouts and other times you'll just want to play. Just do that and you'll naturally mature into the playstyle that is right for you rather than trying to force yourself into someone else's playstyle that doesn't value your unique strengths and talents.

> Also is it possible to accomplish them without using scroll wheel or can I do them with right click?

Short answer, no. Long answer, yes it is possible if you spent many hours learning to play lucio the hard way using tools that limit you drastically.

Tips:

  • Lucio's unique keybinds and mobility mean he really benefits from being a main and even a one-trick, at least until you have him mastered mechanically. Hard to develop if you're rage switching etc.

  • Play OW for yourself. Play for your own reason. Don't let haters and complainers deter you from your mission to be an extraordinary Lucio. You'll quickly be better than any Lucio on their friend's list and they'll be amazed at how unique and hard to emulate your wall-skim playstyle is.

I really need a new mouse, but they are so hard to find a good one. The fricken "gamer aesthetic" is just embarrassing. It's all hard lines, bright lights, and "sick" logos.

This is my current mouse. I've had it for years. It's actually the second one because I replaced it at some point. I love the scroll wheel unlock thing that lets it spin freely, but little fibers (like dog hair) keeps getting stuck inside the cavity where the laser is. That causes the cursor to randomly stop. In my attempts to clean it out, I think I scratched the lens so now moving the mouse at a constant rate causes the cursor to move a little erratically. I'm forced to slow down my mouse movements and be more deliberate, which makes any game with even a little speed+precision to it difficult.

I ended up ordering this one (hasn't arrived yet as of this post). It doesn't have the scroll wheel thing, but I haven't seen any other mouse with that. This one only has a couple tiny points on the front instead of being absolutely covered in sharp angles anywhere, and it has LEDs, which hopefully can be turned off. It also has DPI-switching on the fly, which I will probably never use.

It seems like all mice are either "for business use and web browsing" or "for gamerz mountain dew mlg420weed", with almost no in-between. As if there's no one that both plays games and does web browsing on the same PC.

i would highly recommend a mouse with a free scrolling wheel toggle. this is the one i have:

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Corded-Mouse-Hyper-Fast-Scroll/dp/B002B3YCQM/

the middle click on it kind of sucks but the free scrolling wheel is more than worth it. i started using this mouse about 6 months ago and i honestly do not know how i lived without that feature.

u/rossipedia · 3 pointsr/LogitechG

A pretty standard, low-cost office mouse with that feature would be the M500. Amazon has 'em for $25

u/smfd · 3 pointsr/pwettypwinkpwincesses

Yup. It's a little hard to see in the pictures, but the whole button surface tilts significantly to the right, which tweaks my wrist just enough to make it very, very sore after a few days of use. This from someone who's spent lots and lots of time in front of a computers for over a decade and never suffered anything even close to real ergonomic pain before.

It's a real pity too, because I love the mouse otherwise. Cheap, looks ok, and it has Logitech's "Hyper Fast" scrolling, basically free-wheeling which is fantastic for certain programs or web pages. Doesn't work well for other things, but you can toggle it on and off. But this issue means it's useless to me now. $30 down the drain.

u/FearMeForIAmDan · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I really really like my Logitech M510. Logitech mice are really nice. You can get a wireless version, as well.

EDIT: It seems to be $32 now... I got it on sale for $25. This one is nice as well, with additional buttons

This is a VERY nice one with 9 programmable buttons for a bit under $30

u/Worse_Username · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Logitech CORDED MOUSE M500, is EUR 47.10 on Amazon.

It's got two buttons on top, a wheel that can go up/down and left/right and be clicked as middle mouse button, and also two buttons on the left side near where the thumb rests. There's also another button in top center but I don't think it is programmable, it just controls mouse wheel scroll locking. I've never noticed any issues with sensor accuracy.

u/wubscale · 2 pointsr/MLPLounge

this is my current mouse, and it can do that. had this one for 3 years, but i moved to a configuration where my wifi router was right next to the USB receiver, sooo the wireless one got really jumpy.

It really depends on what you want, i cant say i know of any static less mouse's but i love ergonomic ones and i bought a logitech one on sale for $30ish. Highly annoying. Id go for one with a closed laser system (i've forgotten the technical term)

Oops! MX series was an OLD gaming line. Got mixed up. Maybe look into something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-001204-Corded-Mouse-M500/dp/B002B3YCQM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1488310329&sr=1-1&keywords=m500 I used one for a few years even for pretty heavy gaming, and I personally really liked the shape.

u/AmigAtari · 2 pointsr/SCUMgame

No, I'm not asking for defaults at all. I'm asking to make sure that if we want to bind side thumb buttons to something, or make right click forward, it's an option to do so. I have had several games recently that won't even allow rebinding right click to forward, requiring it to be a key instead.

5 button mice are fairly common nowadays. My last 2 PC's came with them - and they're just $25 Microsoft Office mice with two side thumb buttons. So no, not everyone has them but I want the game to support them, right out of the box.

EDIT: Slowness, if you haven't tried using a 5 or more button mouse, I highly recommend it. It opens up quite a few options when gaming. This is one I've used a lot and it's $18 on Amazon - Logitech M-U0007. Cheap and works well for those on a budget even though it's not a true gaming mouse.

Mice

  • Logitech G500 Programmable Gaming Mouse $57.39, probably the best bet for reliability and gaming functionality. I have 2 of these on different computers.

  • Logitech Corded Mouse (M500)$28.79

I can't personally recommend any Razer mice though I'm using a Razer Tron mouse at the moment. Every Razer mouse I've had, has had issues with the left mouse button randomly double clicking.

Keyboards, you can get away with a lot in the keyboard department as they all do pretty much the same thing. Here's a couple of options.

  • Logitech Keyboard K120 $11.97 It's just a standard keyboard, no bells no whistles. Not designed for gaming but will work fine for any game.
  • Microsoft SideWinder X4 Keyboard $47.70, Microsoft has been known to make the odd good keyboard here and there. This is so far as I know, one of them.
  • Logitech Gaming Keyboard G105 Call of Duty: MW3 Edition $64.99, Entry level gaming keyboard with programmable keys. If you can get past the Call of Duty branding on this device it'd probably be a pretty good keyboard for you and the programmable keys would work with any game.
  • Logitech Gaming Keyboard G110 $69.99, For $5 more you can get a game agnostic gaming keyboard with 12 programmable keys.
  • Logitech Gaming Keyboard G510 $99.67, Now you enter the realm of on keyboard displayed, these work pretty good for a lot of games. A friend of mine has one of these and it's served him very well. I've never seen the point of an on keyboard display as I've never used the one I've got for anything.

EDIT: I accidentally the whole description of a product.

My new work keyboard is a Corsair mechanical. I think it's this model (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/k70-lux-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-red-led-cherry-mx-red-na), but I'd recommend one of their keyboards that don't have a textured spacebar as that's quickly driving me up a wall. The keys themselves are responsive and surprisingly quiet.

The keyboard I've had forever was a basic Microsoft Multimedia keyboard, but if you want something with some more bells and whistles Logitech all the way. My old roommate gave me two G15s when she upgraded to mechanicals, and I've been rocking one ever since. I keep the other in the closet as a backup in case this one ever dies, but I doubt it will. It looks like the spritual successor is the G710 mechanical (http://www.amzn.com/B009C98NPY), with the G105 being a non mechanical, and thus way cheaper variant (http://www.amzn.com/B00BBUCCKO).

I also recommend their mice. The G400 I have at work and the G500s at home have consistently been one of the most comfortable models I've used. It looks like they no longer make those models, but the general shape of it seems to be the current G403 (http://www.amzn.com/B01KUAMCV4) or M500 (http://www.amzn.com/B002B3YCQM).

Is a little more online, but check retails stores. But it's a phenomenal mouse for its price. Not only good for games, but general computer usage.

After reading through it's specs, this mouse is relatively outdated.

u/teehShadow · 1 pointr/MouseReview

I currently use the logitech m500. definitely cannot image having 3 fingers on the top. I do palm grip, like this. think the shape of the castor comes pretty close to my current.

u/SamuraiJakkass86 · 1 pointr/gadgets

My current

I used to run a G600 but it went double-clicky about 8 months into owning it, and the entire thing was a grease-trap. Even yours looks like more cracks and crevices than I want to deal with.

Still waiting on the dishwashable logitech that doesn't doubleclick.

u/mrlemonofbanana · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Amazon suggests the M500 when you look at the G100s, do you think that's a valid alternative?

u/onthenerdyside · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have a wired Logitech mouse and it works great! It's the M500 corded mouse. And it's at a great price on Amazon right now. I really like the extra two little forward and back buttons in the thumb area for web surfing.

As far as remapping keys, I think you can do this with SetPoint from Logitech.

u/joemofo214 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Had to learn the hard way, sadly. I've been in the pc building scene for 10 years now, and my default goto keyboard is this one from hp simply because I know it will last. The keyboard has been around way longer than I've been building pcs, and they're work horses. I understand if you want something lit up and have extra keys for macros and what not, but I've always been simple, go with what works. And what works for me is a simple hp keyboard. I have a simple wired logitech mouse as well, nothing too fancy, but its shelf life is great. With time comes experience, and you'll find what works for you and stick by it.

u/Pdb39 · 1 pointr/wow

Alternative method:

  1. Get a mouse that has a free spin center wheel - for example Logitech M500 Corded or Logitech M705 Cordless

  2. Drag Big Salvage Crate from inventory to toolbar.

  3. Key bind that toolbar slot to Mouse Wheel Down (may need an addon like Bartender4).

  4. Go to your salvage yard & unlock your mouse wheel to get full scroll.

  5. Like Bob Barker used to say - Spin the Wheel! With a good spin, I can open about 15-20 crates before the wheel stops registering wheel downs.

PS - you might want to turn off error sounds as every revolution of the mouse wheel will trigger error text if you are in the middle of "casting"/opening a crate.
u/trentbat · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Hmm, these days, most non-gaming mice have been going wireless, so cheaper wired mce are hard to find, especially one with extra buttons. The Microsoft Comfort mouse is really one of the few choices that are affordable.

The Logitech M500 is one of the closest to your criteria, though it does not have a perfectly symmetrical shape, and is catered to right-handed users.

There are many wireless choices out there that you could easily find, and I reccommend getting those if you really do not want Microsoft Comfort Mice.

However, if you're really looking for high-quality mice under $40, you'll have to go gaming-grade. The Logitech G300S is about $30, and is truly ambidextrous. However, the button placement could be found uncomfortable for some people. Also has way more buttons than what you want.

The other gaming-grade choice is the G302, which has buttons on the right, despite being symmetrical.

EDIT: Found THIS and THIS. I wouldn't put too much trust in these though, you never know if they may have build quality issues.

If you just want something comfortable, maybe something like the Logitech m500 (amazon)

should be okay for casual games

Allows a "free" mode for scrolling so you can improve your scrolling game even further! I think I have that mouse for 5 years or something now can confirm that scroll wheel doesn't wear out.

u/Utipod · 1 pointr/AskTechnology

I've been using this ($15) from Kensington since June 2012, pretty nice mouse. Comfortable, fairly large. Adjustable DPI (up to 2400) and two extra side buttons. Only buy it if you're right-handed.

There's also this ($12) cheap one from Cobra. Similar deal up to 2400 DPI. Haven't tried it.

If you want something nicer and similarly minimal, there's the G400 ($74) from Logitech. Goes up to 3600 DPI.

All of them have two side buttons and a middle button to scroll through four different DPI settings. Nice and sensitive. I know the Kensington and Logitech should be pretty comfortable unless you have tiny hands.

You can get a mouse similar to the G400, but toned down, only 1000 DPI, but a lot cheaper, here.

I think you may also want to look up the G500.

u/TheRufmeisterGeneral · 1 pointr/AskTechnology

I'd recommend the Logitech M500, it's a great mouse, very comfortable, good performance too, has the thumb buttons and an a great mouse wheel (with the "flywheel" toggle).

It's cheaper too, by being about $30 MSRP.

It doesn't have coloured LEDs on it, however. Personally, I think that's an advantage, but maybe you think it's a disadvantage. That's personal taste.

yeah well you cant make an argument that osx is demonstrably better than windows as long as you are locked down to products designed only for the apple ecosystem.

btw this is the mouse I used, have used, and have been using for a year on various windows boxes with no issues:

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-001204-Corded-Mouse-M500/dp/B002B3YCQM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376663048&sr=8-6&keywords=logitech+mouse

it is not some specialty gaming mouse. driver support for such a common mouse should be expected.

and apple doesnt make a 30" monitor, if they did, i'd have gone that route, again, driver support for a non apple non specialty monitor should be a prerequisite
