I believe it goes across the back of a car (inside) and serves as a bar to hang clothes hangers from.

EDIT: Yep:

Sure. This is the one I bought:

Note that it comes with fuse box diagrams, but they were incorrect. I was able to take the diagram off the old cover and put it on the back of the new door.

I measured the width of the cargo area and then just searched around at Walmart, Target, and Advance Auto until I found one that fit those dimension for like $15. It's one with 4 cubes like this (I actually think it is this one) and it's very handy but it blocks the two little lights on either side so my hatch is now completely dark at night. I'm gonna pick up a net made for this car instead.

The Non infomercial hangers are cheaper, in a higher quantity, and have much better reviews

I don't understand how they could have screwed up so badly

Back in the day, we used to buy aftermarket 'consoles'. They were plastic atrocities like this. There were also little plastic things that could be hung from the window track that were stand-alone cup-holders.

Also, back when drunk driving was called "Falling asleep at the wheel", my father used to hold his beer between his legs, like you described. I can't tell you how many times he said, "Get me a beer from the cooler," as we tooled along on the highway.

u/she_never_did · 4 pointsr/boardgames

I've worked at FLGSs for the better part of the last five years (minus some frictional unemployment after one went out of business) and I have a pretty ridiculous collection of games. I run demos (often with personal copies of games) at "my" store but I also attend a couple of other gaming events regularly and play games at home frequently as well. I keep a selection of my favorites in my car at all times in case I encounter a "gamergency." So I wanted to be able to carry a large number of games in a small amount of space permanently, without sacrificing organization or ease of setup.

So for the last year, I've been "tinying" my games. I get 6"x10"x3" boxes (such as pencils come in when shipped by the gross) for free from a previous employer, a school supply shop (they give them away to the public). You'd be surprised how much you can get in a box that size. Splendor, Carcassonne, and Catan all work really well in smaller boxes -- anything without a board. I used my printer/scanner to reduce the original box art and pasted it onto the smaller boxes, then covered them with clear contact paper for durability.

Ultra Pro card boxes are my best friend; I'm about to buy a half dozen more for some games I've recently acquired. I also use little divided plastic boxes from the dollar store a lot. I don't have a lot of pics on my phone right now but I've posted a link some examples below.

Also included in the album is a pic of the games that live in my trunk; the carrier is one of these: (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019HGI31U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TCJBxbBF51MGH). At 22x12x14, it's currently holding 22 games (plus expansions, some in original boxes but most not). I've got room for a few more small ones, too. I love that it has handles; laundry baskets and storage bins hurt my hands. (Tinied games are DENSE, thus my bin is deceptively heavy.)

TL;DR: HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF SOME GAMES I MADE SMALLER

I have this style pocket filler.

One holds a phone and small things, the other holds a small gun.
The Shield and small stuff fits. 1911, M&P, 92F don’t.

I use this thing I picked up from Amazon. Has Velcro and feet on the bottom so it doesn’t slide. I put my backpack and grocery bags in there every day and it never slides around. Also it’s collapsible so you can tuck it away to fit other items. It even comes with two bungeee cords in case you need those for anything.

I didn't really know for sure if it would work but it came out well. Just had to cut into the back of it - it was an easy cut, really, because the last compartment is about two inches deep and that's almost exactly what needs to come off to make it fit.

It's a hair too big but it's flexible so I made it work. Just nice to have stuff in the pickup but keep it looking clean. Also put it behind passenger side, lol.

u/limp_noodle · 2 pointsr/VeryCheap

I have a similar one. It's lasted for over 3 years which isn't bad for the price.

I recently bought this one to replace it.

Something like this can tie down so it doesn’t slide around using the cargo hooks. Since you want to keep those things in your vehicle all the time, it’s better to have something you can just move around in one when you need to have extra cargo area. There’s different options, some smaller.

A cheap front only dashcam which works really well, like $35 on Amazon. Got interesting views as I evac'd during a fire.

Sunscreen for windshield, don't want a melty dash!

Various decals and such - Ravenclaw, USMC veteran, and a metallic "Improbability Drive" one that makes me laugh when I see it. Got those on Etsy.

I REALLY want a Tesla Tap so I can get that sweet sweet level 3 quick charge.

u/foxbarrington · 2 pointsr/uberdrivers

I'd recommend making a checklist, something like:

  • Phone charger
  • Vacuum the seats and floors (love this guy)
  • Check/remove everything from all cupholders / seat backs / door pockets
  • Windex passenger windows
  • Clear out trunk (these are great )
  • Fill tank
u/nitroxyl · 2 pointsr/subaruimpreza

I bought this.

It works well because the velcro sticks to the trunk liner. I have my cleaning products, snow brush, and lots of other tools in the little cubby to the side.

It is quite pricey for what it is but worth it IMO.

Australia is really sunny, every car there needs this sunglasses holder... and I need it too!

u/iJeffwuh · 2 pointsr/XVcrosstrek

I got This for easy storage in the back. You can easily strap it to the side if you put the seats down. I like the compartments and the easiness of removing it. I currently put tarps in there. A basic took set, gloves, flashlights, etc. I just got the cheapest one I could find and was surprised by the quality. Probably could spend a few bucks more and get someone with extra features.

u/skwid · 2 pointsr/rav4club

Maybe a cargo net or one of these. Or this

For showering, I have a fill up a couple of large detergent jugs with hot water. I wrap them with my towel to keep them warm. You have to be careful to not fill them up with too hot water because, with the insulation from the towel, you might be in for a surprise.

I stand in this container: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10255897/ when I'm showering and taking off my wetsuit. It is great because I use the water to rinse the wetsuit out. You can add a bit of soap while washing the wetsuit if you are a pee-er.

For drying, I use the bucket and one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074F34JT6/

Car keys: get a key lock that attaches itself to your car's rims or door handle. Masterlock makes a pretty popular model.

I end up folding mine up, and use the cart bottom rack for my feet. Since i cant push/pull with feet; i use my knees against the cart and lean to push fit knees in turns. I have a captain's/auto style seat (not hard pan) with two prong car style headrest. Since i can pivot in my seat i use the car style headrest hooks and a dowel to hold full reusable bags. Can safely carry and 20lbs without breaking anything, then rest goes in my lap or footplate.

I ended up going with this double-clip accessory and using the vent clip attachment. So far, so good and it clips really well to the vent to the left of the steering wheel.

Center console tray in my 2015 Q50.

Why didn't it come with one from the factory?

u/TsuDhoNimh2 · 1 pointr/konmari

I got by with an old milk crate - if I needed to make all of the trunk available, it was just one box to move out.

This might work. It attaches with velcro, does not work with plastic.

Another possibility is a tool bag - the kind that sit flat and open really wide.

I bought this
It fits perfectly in the back and if you have the cargo cover I wrapped the handles around it so it stays in place.

As for what I store, I keep some water and nuts in my cubby, the smaller cargo pocket has bungee cords, bigger one on the right has a small tool bag, bug spray, and a fire extinguisher, and the cargo box has a sleeping bag, pet cover, Stanley jumper box/compressor, plus smaller items in the “cooler” like a towel, sterno grill, plates, dog toys, anything I don’t want rattling around.

If you’re interested I can get a picture uploaded.

u/WhooperMan · 1 pointr/rav4club

I bought one of these. Included straps and clips lock into RAVs cargo bed d-rings and keep it and load from sliding around. Bonus that grey /black color combination combination birch interior well.
