Name's right there on the front of the thing. Looks like the Accurweight 207. $16.99 on Amazon.com (prices may vary according to location/time of day/mood of Amazon's servers a the micromoment).

I have this one. It's perfect. I dont notice appreciable lag. Its perfectly accurate as I pour. In fact, ALL of the expensive scales in James' video ha e at least as much lag if not more than my scale.

In all honesty, I think its accuracy could be a little more fine tuned, but as James says in the video, it's hard to make the scale able to handle multiple pounds AND be accurate to a tenth of a gram.

Dude, I started losing weight when I saw how awful I looked in my senior recital video. The thing that I had been working towards for four years. The thing that I had spent HUNDREDS OF HOURS practicing for, and I couldn't even watch the video because I could not believe how I looked. Six years later and I still have never watched it. I was like you, had always wanted to lose weight but it was this vague idea. That day I started my weight loss and lost 25 pounds over 6 months. I wish I had kept going then, because I've been bouncing around 160-170 for the last five years. But I'll make it to my goal.

Here are my tips for you:

  • Read every word of the quickstart guide
  • Buy a food scale
  • Don't be freaked out if your weight doesn't go down steadily and consistently, weight loss is not linear
  • Don't quit if you mess up, track and move on
  • Do not be ashamed to log what you ate, the key is logging everything no matter what
  • Don't stop when the scale doesn't move for a while, as long as you're maintaining a deficit it will move eventually
  • Take "before" pictures, it is SO MOTIVATING to compare pictures!

You can do this, but hiding in your room is not the answer :) Internet hugs, and a kick in the ass. Get going.

Hey I think you're talking about this

u/Lankience · 9 pointsr/Cooking

my food scale is one of the smallest things in my kitchen honestly. It was $15 and basically enabled me to make my bread, coffee, and baking in general a hell of a lot more consistent. I have a tiny kitchen too (and a girlfriend who likes everything put away in our even smaller cabinets), so I know what it's like to have minimal space, but the scale is not gonna break the bank and won't take up a lot of space. Here's the one I bought, I'd highly recommend it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018LXSPEA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just think about it, it's worth having!

u/princeo3 · 8 pointsr/1200isplenty

For me, a kitchen scale has been the most useful when calorie-cutting, because it gave me a good idea of portion size. This is the one I use, and its just over $10 and is nifty because it weighs in grams and ounces (although I'm sure most do). If you check amazon, some of the highest rated scales are under $15.

I have an American Weigh SC-2kg.

I previously had an Ozeri Pro, which was similar in price.

I love the American Weigh because it is accurate to 0.1g, which is great for espresso. However, it sacrifices maximum weight, which came in handy a few times on the Ozeri (mainly for other things in the kitchen).

If you're doing the regular 6-cup chemex (I do this with the additional weight of ice for japanese cold brew), you should be fine with the American Weigh. I'd suggest it anyways as I found the build quality a bit better, and the auto-shut off isn't triggered as quickly. It also has an awesome blue LED screen. If you're doing heavier stuff though, the Ozeri is certainly sufficient!

I just bought my first real postage scale as it was on sale around Christmas. For the last 6 years I've just been using this kitchen scale to weigh without issues:

EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, White Chrome https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002CM8TZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jOLByb7VEGHTG

Etsy has good calculated rates for some countries, others you'll need to go by postal provided scales to get a base idea of your rate ranges. Calculated shipping seems to do well for a lot of people here but I only ship priority flat rate, and only ship in the US now to avoid stress so I have no experience with it.

u/Arkolix · 5 pointsr/espresso

I got the Brewista Smart Scale II about a week ago and am loving it so far! It has 0.1g precision, is water resistant + has a removable silicone cover, a built-in timer, and a bunch of fancy auto-tare/time modes if that's your thing. I definitely wanted a built-in timer as using my phone stopwatch or whatever sounded like kind of a pain over a 5+ year period. Others might feel differently, and some choose not to time at all, but I'm a believer.

Like I said I'm only a week in so I can't really comment on longevity. However I am extremely happy with it and can't imagine I'll feel the need to upgrade to a Lunar anytime soon if ever.

u/PointlessAnonymity · 5 pointsr/loseit

Not a dumb question at all!

The scale I have comes with a booklet (And you can purchase an app for it as well) that has codes in it. Since I cook all my food and weigh out all the ingredients, the book has a code for everything.

For example, I can punch in the code for a green bell pepper and when I put the bell pepper on the scale it tells me how many calories are in it, how many carbs, how much sodium. It is AMAZING.

As for good workout clothing. I told myself when I hit 50 lbs lost I would go get measured for my accurate bra size. So I went to a specialty store and got a consultation. I always thought I was busty, had NO idea I was a DDD, not a DD like I always wore. It was very much worth it!

Hi! It sounds like you have a clear plan for what you are looking to achieve :) also, it helps that you're in the right place!

To answer your first question, a food scale is the best purchase I have made so far this year. I'm probably on a far tighter calorie budget than you (being short and female), but I think it's a great habit to get into regardless of how tight the calorie budget is. I picked up this one and it's been running perfectly. I can promise you that it doesn't take long to weigh foods either.

As for setting a goal, I personally found it good to have a final goal and mini milestones based off of my final goal. I chose an initial final goal based off of bmi, and it might change depending on how happy I am closer to the goal. My mini milestones are based on random things - I want to "beat" an advert for a weight loss company at the minute, which sounds silly. Find things that motivate you :)

I would say good luck, but I don't believe you need luck!

I have used that one for a year now and I love it over most of the other cheap ones because it has a bowl to weigh stuff that's easy to wash as opposed to a flat permanently attached platform.

u/radddchaddd · 4 pointsr/Coffee

I've owned both of these and quite like both:

Hario

HuiSmart

The Hario looks a bit cleaner and it has large base. However, I like the silicon cover the HuiSmart comes with especially when making pourovers or placing my portafilter on the scale. The HuiSmart is also cheaper, which is nice.

I've gone through 2 of these in 5 years of daily use. I think the first only broke because I let a bunch of water soak into the battery compartment.

u/SingularityParadigm · 4 pointsr/Coffee

Top pick: Brewista Smart Scale II

Budget pick: AWS SC-2KGA Digital

The Brewista includes quality of life features for coffee brewing including several auto modes (though I just use manual), a silicone drip mat, and an integrated count-up timer. It also has a faster responding load-sensor which means it will register and then update mass changes quicker on the display, making it less likely that you will overshoot your water mass targets when brewing pour-over. (You place your entire brew setup on the scale, and measure your water simultaneous with brewing.)

I have the first-gen scale which lacks the silicone drip mat and the rechargeable battery...and was also about $20 cheaper than the gen2 scale. Fortunately it has very long battery life and I can use rechargeable AAAs with it! I love the thing to death; definitely part of my essential coffee brewing kit along with my Kalita 155 pour-over, my Lido E-T manual burr grinder, and my gooseneck pouring kettle.

I have this one. Super light. It may not be the most accurate scale on earth but I am pretty sure it more than accurate for this application.

u/70mmArabica · 4 pointsr/Coffee

Jennings - $27 :: 4000g x 0.5g

Hario - $42 :: 2000g x 0.1g + timer

Brewista - $88 :: 2000g x 0.1 + timer

*I have the Hario and I like it. The time it takes to register weight is a little slow, but I don't care. Also I've spilt water on it (not more than 1/5 cup, and some ended up below it, near the battery) and I immediately clean/wipe and have had no water damage

Buy something like this instead. Not sure why you would want to purchase a scale with so few reviews on Amazon.

For reference I have this scale which is by the same brand and while its high quality placing large objects will obscure the screen.

I have 3 scales around the house for business uses so Id say I have a bit of "weight" behind my recommendations.

u/MikeTheBlueCow · 3 pointsr/Coffee

What's your budget? That's going to make a difference in what gets recommended. If you can only spend $100 vs $500 there are going to be some compromises that you'll have to make, especially when it comes to the grinder.

Scale:

  • This basic scale does not include a timer, but you could just use your phone or something https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004C3CAB8

  • This scale comes with a timer and some advanced features https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N3U7RKH

  • The Acaia scales are the top-notch pro-level deal which don't really add much compared to the Brewista scale, but people like them. https://www.amazon.com/s/ie=UTF8&search-alias=aps&field-keywords=Acaia

    Burr Grinder:

  • Most basic hand grinder that will give you the least amount of problems for the price: https://www.amazon.com/Hario-Skerton-Coffee-Grinder-Black/dp/B01MXJI90S

  • Jump on up to the AerGrind, Feld2, Lido, Helor 101, Kinu M47, Commandante... these hand grinders are top-notch and a great value, giving the best quality grind until you hit the $500-600 price.

  • If you want to go electric, don't get anything less than the Encore which you can get refurb for $100. It won't be as good of a grind as the better hand grinders, but it's a great grinder for the price.

    Pour over cone:

  • I really can't recommend anything other than the V60. I don't see an advantage to the Wave or Chemex. They all make the same quality level of coffee, but the Wave filters can be annoying, the Chemex filters are extra thick and you may not care for it, and both Wave and Chemex are more expensive. Get the $5 plastic V60-02 and some white filters for $10 and you're set. Or you can get a fancier glass or metal one if you want. Get a server/carafe if you plan on making that much coffee but it can just sit on a mug. If you want to try the Chemex filters, they fit in the V60-02 or V60-03. If you want to try cloth or metal filters, there are options that fit in the V60's.

    Gooseneck Kettle

  • Bonavita Variable Temp is perfectly fine but not amazing quality; mine has lasted a couple years just fine but I can't use my well water in it because it rusts it due to high sodium levels... also it tends to heat the water too much if I don't have at least a pint in it (I often don't). It's not too annoying though, just be aware it's not perfect but is good for the price https://www.amazon.com/Bonavita-BV382510V-Variable-Temperature-Gooseneck/dp/B005YR0F40

  • The Oxo kettle would be the competitor at that price, which I haven't used but it's worth looking at reviews for it https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Adjustable-Temperature-Electric-Pour-Over/dp/B074KHPS7F/

  • For a cheaper kettle option you'd have to go stovetop. Hario Buono is a good one for that.

  • A desirable kettle if you can afford it is the Fellow Stagg EKG.

Prioritize the grinder and make that the most expensive part of your setup. You can easily deal with a $10 scale, $5 pour over cone, $35 kettle, but a grinder that is $25 vs $50 vs $150 will make a huge difference in not just the taste quality of your coffee but the more expensive grinders will also reduce your frustration level by giving you less fines and more even grinds so it will be easier to hit the brew times, taste notes, and reduce the bitterness.

I have two. This was the first one I bought last year. It still works great. It's scuffed up a bit, though.

I bought this to keep at work. It works pretty well too.

u/UCgirl · 3 pointsr/fatlogic

I've gots this one. http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Elite-Digital-Kitchen/dp/B009EUPMFK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1419036075&sr=8-9&keywords=kitchen+scale

Function's are great. You can set a plate on there and tare it to zero. That way you don't have to calculate the plate in your measures. Plus you can switch around ounces, pounds, g and kg quite easily.

u/youknowdamnright · 3 pointsr/Sourdough

if you are going by volume, i would do 2x the amount of flour (unpacked). that should be reasonably close. I would highly recommend a kitchen scale though. It's not a must, but it's cheap and really helps ensure consistent results while you are first learning to bake bread. There are so many variables that affect the outcome its nice to remove a major one.

yeah, thats way too much starter. you don't want the yeast competing for food so you want to keep the population size down. Just an estimate but, I typically have around 1cup of starter when it's first fed and stirred down. It expands to about 2 cups

u/Beef_Enchilada · 3 pointsr/loseit

Old one
New one

The new one looks nice, and the light-up display is nice, but I get different weights depending on if I put items towards the front or back of the scale. I ordered another of the original this morning, haven't decided if I'm going to return the fancier one or keep it for a back-up.

I used to have that scale and also thought it was garbage. I replaced it with this one, which doesn't look nearly as nice but has been rock solid for over a year.

I use 2 scales. One with a 10lb capacity for grains, water and starter. I don't particularly care for it because it times out quickly, which is especially annoying for pour-over coffee: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MN0NI90 More capacity would also be nice for my homebrewing.

For salts and yeast, I use this .01g (100g max) scale, which is decent: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0012LOQUQ

  3. It's only $5ish but I need this But if you really wanna spoil me, I need this too.

  4. I'll be back with it...it's taking forever to send...

  5. Snorting is cool, too
u/BrewCrewKevin · 2 pointsr/Homebrewing

Very cool, man! thanks for doing this! (and mods, I can do one of these too. Just let me know.)

Questions:

  • How do you like that pH meter? I know /u/sufferingcubsfan just got the Omega pH-7011, and I was considering that, too. I was afraid the one you have doesn't have the accuracy. What are your thoughts on it?

  • Have you ever used an immersion chiller? Or went straight into counterflow? Just curious how much better that works, etc. I've been using immersion my whole brewing career, and honestly haven't even looked into plate/CFC much. Usually I just get the hose hooked up, run it into my sump pump drain, and let it run for like 20 minutes while I clean up/sanitize my fermenter etc.

  • What are all the kegs for in the pics? Do you use them as keggles or anything? Or is it just a table?

  • Have you thought about springing for BeerSmith? It has a nice calendar feature that I use to schedule and keep track of brews, and it helps me document my recipes, etc.

  • You still don't have a scale for grains? They're super cheap.. I'm sure your GF would let you invest in that yet this year :)

  • How the f** do you get brew day done so damn fast!? Maybe I'm just not as focused, but even with 60min mash and 60min boil, I don't think I've ever* broken like 5 or 6 hours... I do piddlefart around a lot, but still... My process is very similar.

  • I was thinking of doing starters with the wort and pitching the next day. I do like that idea. Let it sit in the fermenter and settle down to temp... I assume you oxygenate the next day, too? Just before you pitch? Or do you oxygenate right away after brewing?

    And some general comments:

  • First of all, I'm from WI, so I definitely hear you with New Glarus! Their fruit sours are fantastic, but everything they brew is spot on. Spotted Cow is WI's most popular craft for a reason.

  • I also like Hopalicious, but my fav IPA is still Lupulin Maximus from O'Sos. Fantastic, and you can probably get that nearby there!
u/Slavakion · 2 pointsr/snakes

I'm not sure how high my scale goes since I didn't buy it, but it weighs my 800+ gram bp just fine.

It looks a lot like this one, which says it goes up to 2 kg. Females usually top out at 2 kg.

I’m happy with that one. I like that it comes with its own bowl as well.

u/acciointernet · 2 pointsr/loseit

You put whatever you are putting the condiment on, onto the scale. Tare it out so the scale reads zero. Then add condiments (grams is more accurate).

As for food scales -- mine looks like this one (although it's not exactly that one). You don't need anything fancy. Just something that switches between oz and grams and has a 'tare' button.

I bought this and I love it. I mostly chose this one because it looks like they are weighing weed and I like a company with a sense of humor. The scale is a good size and it registers changes faster. My old scale was terrible for adding things in increments but this one registers incredibly quickly. It doesn't feel like work at all to use it.

You can link MyFitnessPal to the Fitbit Tracker app. If you exercise using your FitBit, MFP will know about it, and adjust your calories accordingly.

Unless you are using a chest strap heart rate monitor, the calories that FitBit is telling you burned is just an estimate. A rule of thumb that most people follow is to only eat back half of the calories you burned. This way you won't unknowingly eat back more than you burned.

MyFitnessPal allows you to enter a food and the portion size, and it will enter the calories for you. You don't have to guess. Often times you can scan the barcode with your phones camera to enter it into MFP.

If you want to be more precise, you should considering getting a food scale and weighing your food. Measuring food by weight is more accurate then using measuring cups or eyeball it (though sometimes eating out you will have to do this). Ask a professional baker for a recipe, and the amount of flour will be in grams or ounces, not cups.

Download MyFitnessPal, try it out for a few days. Weighing food, counting calories and logging them will take a little getting used to. You will get it and you will see results.

Don't forget to check out /r/loseit and their Wiki. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

(I guess it's at the cafe he works at, not his)...

OP, what do you think of the scale?

u/AiKitsune · 2 pointsr/Fitness

For any UK guys I bought this scale for £11 at the start of the new year. Its good quality and looks pretty slick as well.

Combining that with MyFitnessPal was serious surprising as it showed just how badly I was off in terms of eyeballing healthy portion sizes.

For example I would eyeball about 200-300g of chips in a 'normal' portion size which is about 600-900 calories! I now weigh 100g of chips which is still 300 calories but it looks less than a handful. The amount of chips look so small that my housemates laugh at my portion sizes :( but I know I am hitting my daily carlories so its all good!

https://www.reddit.com/r/fitness/search?q=flair%3Arecipe&sort=new&restrict_sr=on Recipe thread monthly. They tend to be a good place to look for food related ideas.

For advice: r/loseit is an excellent resource.

For raw data, SailRabbit: BMR, TDEE and BMI Calculator is a helpful estimator. There is also a spreadsheet that you can use that will help you make better adaptations to your caloric goals. We all generally recommend MyFitnessPal or any other similar caloric tracker and a food scale (Amazon, $15).

I'd shoot for between 2000-2100 calories/day. From there you might also enjoy r/1500isplenty. For macros, I would generally say to lean more towards proteins so you can preserve those god-level calves you've been growing. Maybe a 30p/30f/40c split? Play with it and see what works best for you.

Here's the thing about weighing your foods- everyone anticipates that it will be tedious, time consuming, and a total pain in the ass to weigh everything you eat or use in a recipe. Everyone.
But once you get yourself a decent food scale it is the most pleasant surprise to find out that it is easy and very fast- it add very little time to cooking and provides the biggest benefits imaginable.
And it doesn't have to be a fancy scale- the $15 Ozeri on Amazon works really well.

Invest $15 in your health and try it.

u/kimwim42 · 2 pointsr/loseit

What app are you using? myfitnesspal has a shitton of foods in it with the calories listed for measured amounts of each food. You measure the food you eat, it tells you how many calories you ate. It's not a lot of work AT All.
Use measuring cups, measuring spoons, and a cheap scale. This one is only 15 dollars. If you really want to lose weight, you'll make this a game.

I use this kitchen scale. When I first brought the girls home they only weighed a gram or two. I used this one which is accurate to 0.01 gram. I bought it to weigh nutrients and supplements for dosing the water.

But if you're asking how I physically do it, at first I thought it was going to be too much trouble and too traumatic for the fish. We've gotten used to each other in the meantime and it's no big deal now. Once a month during a water change, with the water at its lowest level, I'll let them swim into a Tupperware tub and move the tub with fish and water to the scale; move the fish only back to the tank and the weight difference is the fish weight. If they aren't feeling particularly cooperative that day, then two nets, one large, one small, are used to move each fish to a tub with tank water, preweighed and waiting on the scale. Either way, as soon as they are returned to the tank, I feed them a bit of Repashy by hand.

Whole deal only takes a couple of minutes.

By the way, earlier I said the girls were about 2½ inches long without tails. I don't actually get the ruler out. I noticed today that it's closer to 3½".

I'm in a similar boat as you with the full control of my food.

I plan and weigh almost everything (I'm far too lazy to weigh my oats, so I just use a measuring scoop and go "Eh, that's about 2 servings"). I use the weights on containers to determine serving sizes (IE: A tub of Fage 0% greek yogurt SAYS it has 2 servings, but it really has closer to 2.25-2.5. So when I put it in I put in 2.5). I tend to plan a week's meals and I get creative as I go on. The first 2 weeks back, I had balsamic chicken every night but friday. Today I'm going shopping and picking up some lean beef and turkey and making meatballs, just to spice things up. My breakfast and lunch are always the same(greek yogurt, oatmeal, protein shake), but I like these things so until I get sick of them, I'm sticking to it for simplicity.

I tend to wake up in the morning, and put in my planned meals for the day and see where that will get me calorically and macronutrient-wise. Usually this puts me at around 1700 calories. I'm cutting, so I tend to stick to 2k-2.2k cal a day, so this gives me 3-500 calories of "wiggle room" to eat other things when I want. Usually a wholesome snack, or an extra bowl of oatmeal.

To track, I use loseit because that's what I used when I was losing weight and it's intuitive for me. I do not ever input my exercise, I only input food. I have it track my macros and the percentages and I figure out how I need to adjust it (I'm a very numbers oriented guy). I measure using http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CM6TVI/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00. I originally had an Oxo scale, but gave that to my family as my brothers LOVE weighing their food. I like this one more because the Oxo scale had a 5 pound limit. This lets me put things like bowls or a shaker bottle on it filled with liquid and not worry about going over.

Hotels are great- never take the elevator! You have so many stairs to run up and down and hallways to walk through! My husband used to be a GSM and he would consistently kill me on steps throughout the day because of room checks and pacing behind the desk.

Bloom is where you added half the water for 15s, and then added the rest. It basically lets the CO2 from the beans escape. I usually do 30-40s, but this won't have a huge impact on your cup. There are other things that will make a bigger difference before you need to worry about a nuance like this.

Your timing sounds good. French presses tend to do well with a fairly coarse grind, so you may want to look at bumping that all the way up to coarse. If your grounds are too fine, it will lead to over-extraction, which will cause bitterness. What type of grinder did you get? Honestly, your grinder will make the biggest difference in what your coffee tastes like. Cheap blade grinders create really uneven particle sizes, so you get some grounds that are super-overextracted, some that are extracted well, and some that are underextracted. This creates a rather unpleasant cup, as you'll be getting sour (underextraction) and bitter (overextraction) on top of the actual coffee flavors. If you have a burr grinder, you can mostly disregard all that though. They do a much better job of getting even grounds. There are a few options for cheap, manual burr grinders. Or if you prefer electric, there's a couple around the $100 that will do just fine (some people here will contest this, but if you just want a good cup at home, they will work fine. If you are looking to make really high quality cups that highlight specific tasting notes, you'll need to spend a little more or go manual though). Let me know what you have and I can make a few suggestions.

The only other thing I would suggest is to get a scale to weigh out your coffee. Using a measuring spoon is hard, because the density of the beans and grind size will both affect how much coffee is actually in 3 tablespoons. I have had some coffees where 2 tablespoons weighed as much as 1 tablespoon of a different coffee. There really is that much variance across different beans. This is a nice chinese scale on amazon that was built with coffee in mind. I use it daily. Getting a more accurate coffee:water ratio will seriously help your cups.

I also got http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Kitchen-Chrome/dp/B002CM8TZC/ref=pd_sim_hpc_6 for food weighing in the kitchen; it works great as well.

u/euendo · 1 pointr/guineapigs

If you're worried about weight, I would highly recommend buying a food scale! Not for veggies, but for your guinea. One like this with a little dish that fits on top, so your little one can sit more comfortably.

I try to weigh my boys once a week (like after cage cleaning time so it's become part of the routine) so I can monitor their health. Weight is one of the main indicators of guinea pig health that you can reliably measure without a vet. Also it was really fun charting out how much they grew over time when I first got them! After a few times weighing your guinea, you'll have an idea of what a healthy weight should be, regardless of hair length.

Edit: I forgot to mention that a scale is an especially helpful tool if you think you'll be moving a few times in the next few years. I move my guys maybe 4 times a year because I go to college an hour away from my parents' house, and at first it was stressful for those little potatoes. They lost weight for the first few days each move, but slowly regained it once they settled in (they're pros at moving house now though). I'm not sure how long it's been since you moved to your parents' house but it may have contributed to her weight loss.

I use a scale and would highly recommend one. It leads to way more consistent results and a smaller margin of error. I have this one from amazon. You can get them at a big box store as well, but if I remember correctly, amazon was cheaper. I only use the scale for ingredients that I would use measuring cups for. There no need to weigh a teaspoon of salt or a couple tablespoons of sugar. You can google the weight per cup of flour, as I forget what it is now.

You can get by without one to start, but it is a bit more involved. You never want to scoop out flour with the cup, because it tends to pack the flour and leads to a tougher loaf. Stir the flour in the bag or canister then lightly spoon it into the measuring cup. Level off the excess with a knife. Then you should sift it. You can do this with a simple wire strainer or get a full on sifter, but if money and space are tight, a strainer is fine. This will break up clumps in the flour so your bread mixes better and has a better texture.

Check the manual that came with your machine and see how they suggest adding ingredients. Usually it’s all the wet stuff first, then the dry. If the recipe calls for yeast, you just put it in the middle, on top of the dry. Fats are usually placed on top, around the outer edge. Don’t forget to put in the mixing paddle! It’s very disappointing to go get your bread only to find it almost the same as when you started it, only gooey and warm. Not that I’ve ever done that. Lol.

If you really get into making bread regularly, like I do with that one I linked, you can measure out your dry ingredients into zipper bags so all you have to do is grab one of those, add your wet stuff, fat and yeast and go.

OP, just curious, what are you trying to achieve? I'm thinking about adding a filament runout sensor. At least I could use all of a given spool, not waste filament, and not lose a print due to running out at 95%-done.

The scale would let me predict how close I'd get to finishing the print, and the sensor would let me change if I ran out before it was done.

Nope, but you can use it to see how many calories are in each ingredient in a meal you make is/how much you are consuming. (I weigh my avocados out to get a rough idea, as well as note the type so I can find accurate results on MyFittnesspal). You will need to do some math after, but it works well for me. Also, protein shakes will be required to reach that goal, so I suggest investing in a type of shake that you think tastes good and doesn't make you fart yourself to death.

I just swirl my shaker bottle after setting it down before each swig, although sometimes I do have to add a bit more water at the end to get the last bit. Overall I've had no issues at all the quality. I use these shaker bottles and have about 5 of them so I don't have to wash them during teh week. They also have 28oz ones if you need something bigger. I use one of these scales to measure out the powder. 92g is 400 calories. If you need more you can just pick your ideal weight. The scale is accurate so I'm fairly confident that I'm getting the same amount of calories every day.

I would weigh everything as most of the time manufacturer listed weights are inaccurate or misleading.

A simple digital scale like this works just fine.

If you weren’t already planning on it, use www.lighterpack.com to categorize and list your gear. Then you can post it to r/ultralight for a shakedown.

I have this one and I adore it.

I would recommend something more accurate for things like this. Here's a 0.001g pocket scale for $14
