I have this same exact model and configuration. Only difference is mine is black. That’s literally it. Specs are the same exactly.

A few things:

  1. You may not need to repaste out of the box. Run tests to figure out how you did in the silicon lottery. Or play No Man’s Sky. That game runs hot as fuck. Even if your CPU isn’t hitting 100°C out of the box, chances are it will be running hot enough to spike at 93° and throttle. Time to download Throttlestop and watch this tutorial.

    https://youtu.be/yNt9L3BWOFo

  2. Elevate that ass-end. Get air flowing. You can use a book or whatever. I use these.

    https://www.amazon.com/Conical-Rubber-Bumpers-Black-Electronics/dp/B075KZBR2Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=conical+rubber+bumpers&qid=1563993916&s=gateway&sprefix=conical+rubb&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFVWjFXRkNHQ0lTR0gmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyNTM1MjMyMjdCVElKS0wzN1NNJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5MjkzOTVUTjVFU0hJUVdRV1Emd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

  3. Fuck that’s a long link.

  4. When you’re done using it, shut it down. All the way. Don’t put it to sleep. Shut it down. Oy vey.

  5. I can’t think of anything else right now but if I do, I’ll add to this. Enjoy your new machine. It’s a bucking feast.

I’ve always really been into music. I imagine that’s a given for most people on here. It started when I fixed up the amp and speakers I found in my moms basement when I was home from college one winter. They are both Pioneer, late 80s I’m guessing. Originally I wanted to use the amp and speakers to play music from laptops, phones, etc. at our college house parties which we did and it was awesome. I also took back all of my parents records to school with me and really didn’t listen to them, didn’t think a college party house was the safest place for a set up and didn’t own a player. Fast forward 7 years I’m finishing grad school and moving in with my girlfriend...we do a favor for her sister and brother in law and end up with an Audio Technica player for the free. Found Discogs pretty soon after that, and I’ve been collecting since. Today I added the tuner, also late 80s Pioneer. Big fan of the green light on the face of it. The shelf where the records are is a super cheap cubicle from Target that we didn’t put in the middle shelves. Ordered the legs from Amazon, probably a total of 75$ between the two. Anyways thanks for reading.

EDIT: Wow, didn't really expect this to blow up like it did. You all are really nice, thank you! I'm gonna try to answer some of the comments here:

  1. More details on the shelf: The wooden box itself came from something similar to this. Here are the legs I ordered off Amazon. Honestly just put those boys in with a drill very carefully. Took 45 minutes tops.
  2. Speaker placement/rattling: Agreed that I could place the speakers better, our house is really small and this whole setup definitely sacrifices some listening optimality for functionality. I appreciate the input! As far as the rattling is concerned, I really haven't had any problems maybe because the speakers are pretty heavy and sturdy--probably because they are so old.
  3. The Trane album: 1 of 3 albums that really got me into jazz music in college, the other 2 being Kind of Blue (Miles Davis) and Take 5 (Dave Brubeck). Saw people liked weekend jazz so I wanted to stick with the theme.
  4. The doggy: Yah, thats a 15 week old CavaPoo named Ozzie. He's the best, love him so much. Named after Ozzie Smith for any Cardinals fans in the house

You could always put the io at the back, put a vinyl decal to cover the bottom (now front) and add some feet with a 90° PSU cable connector.

$10 for vinyl wrap or a cut to size sheet of acrylic and some double sided tape.... Or leave it is is lol

  • if it was me, I'd do a sheet of acrylic and cover the whole front of the case down to the table so you don't see the PSU cable sticking out of the bottom of the case from the front view... Keeps it cleaner looking

$10- Tall adhesive feet (could go shorter for cheaper, but you want them tall to fit the PSU extension)

$3 low profile PSU extension (these are lower profile than what you'll find on Amazon... I spent a few days looking lol) Other super low profile connectors can be found on taobao and purchased through super buy

So an additional ~$25 to make it work... But that's up to you if you want to go that route. :)

It looks like it might be missing the tiny little circular rubber stopper that goes behind the handle. Hold it open and look behind it, and compare with the passenger side. Something like this might fix the issue.

I found a cheap used table online and ordered these hairpin legs from Amazon. Heres a update picture. I just sanded it down and put on a new coat earlier today so it's not quite finished. But it's a major upgrade for cheap. You could definitely add some hairpin legs on your current tables for a quick DIY upgrade.

I found them on amazon. These things are seriously heavy duty and a fraction of the price of other levelers. They have a hex head on the top of the screw. Couldn't be happier.

small trick : use an old or cheap keyboard and get tiny rubber bumpers (stuff like this : https://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Cabinet-Drawers-Dampening-MOZOALND/dp/B07CDCPSST/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=silicone+feet+bumpers&qid=1570516116&sr=8-10)

Put one on tactically chosen keys (one on G, one on the 5 of the numeric keypad, one on the 1, 5 and 0 of the number bar (same for the F keys), one on shift, caps-lock or tab, one on O, one on X. one on M should do the trick). The idea is to find out where your hands are and to remember what's nearby (for example, right underneath O you have the L, which is used for Lights. finding out that it's the O key is easy, as you also have one bumper above and slightly to the right of it on the 0 ). Muscle memory will help you move your hand approximately at the right place, then you feel for the tab.

Slightly slower than seeing the keyboard, but works well enough :)

74" walnut Karlby top from IKEA and these legs from Amazon.

Yes. I got these

Nice! Can you upload it on Thingiverse? Or upload it somewhere and post a link? I have a stand for this reason and it sucks. Laptop is always falling over.

The basic movement uses 2 floor sliders. You start in a bridge pose with the sliders under your heels then push your feet out until just before full extension. Then you curl your hamstrings in.

Basic Movement

It can be progressed by splitting your legs in a V as you push out, or doing it one-legged.

u/rusrslysrs · 2 pointsr/3DS

Sure. Little small clear rubber/vinyl "bumpers" you'd think to put on kitchen cabinet doors to absorb the noise, or on the bottom of DVD players, etc. I usually see them in the furniture/hardware section of stores like Walmart, the local hardware store, etc.

The ones I got at WalMart are Self Touch brand, they come in a pack of 20, and are 1/4 inch. Self stick (which means they have adhesive on the back -- keep this in mind). They look a lot like these. I thought they were the perfect size, but again I saw a mark on the right side of my screen the other day so they might not be (time will tell -- I cleaned it off, we'll see if it comes back). Ace and 3M also make bumpers/spacers.

They also have self stick felt pads in these sections, but unfortunately the ones I've seen are brown or green rather than black, and plus they compress more easily than the rubber bumpers.

I've also read of people using the feet from their XBOX 360s or their Wiis. See also the neogaf thread regarding the screen scratching issue (Google will turn it up for you).

Hope that helps.

u/Onlylikesblades · 2 pointsr/videography

These and then just put them under your tripod legs, and friction keeps it inplace. They glide over almost any carpet and they also make some designed for hardwood flooring.

put small rubber feet stickers on the hinge outside edge of the door so the door stops on the frame before the wall.

[Logitech G920] (https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Dual-Motor-Feedback-Driving-Responsive/dp/B016LI8SCG?th=1) - Best setup I could find for under $500+. I really like it. Solid quality, holds up to (ab)use well.

Rubber Pads - I put these on the wheel and shifter to help hold it to the desk better. I was dealing with sliding without them. I use the flat ones on the underside of the mounts, which press against the top of my desk.

[Half Keyboard] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D6NTPWH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - Gives some extra buttons close to your wheel since you'll lose out on some hotkeys.

[Desk Brackets] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYL14WV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - I mounted these to studs in my wall, and on the underside of my desk. I keep my screens wall mounted, and my PC on a platform under my desk. These keep the desk super stable.

edit: Added a piece of equipment.

You can probably get these all online, but Lowe's was cheaper.

2 x 3.5" tarp hooks - https://www.lowes.com/pd/National-Hardware-Tarp-Hook/1000490357

2 x 1/4-20 nuts - just check the assorted nuts area

2 x 1/4-28 nuts - just check the assorted nuts area

2 x 1/4" Fender Washer - just check the assorted nuts area

2 x furniture glides with 1/4-20 threading - the ones I got at lowe's were Softtouch 4603695LW just look in the area where the other furniture felt bottoms etc are, I used these for reference (can't find the lowe's listing online) https://www.amazon.com/SoftTouch-Leveling-Glides-Straight-Furniture/dp/B001W6Q4U6

The tarp hooks are just the right height that when you mount the headrest to the lower holes and slip the hooks under the back, the top holes pop just above the chair allowing you to attach the glides to hold it steady from the top of the chair with tension.

Headrest comes with 2 screws, use those to attach to the tarp hook with fender washer + the 1/4-28 nuts, hook into back, then attach the glides and nut them into place as well.

Guy on amazon reviews suggested it, and it worked out very wel. You can't adjust the depth of the headrest, which is the only complaint I would leverage, but I feel it's at a fine position, and you can easily move it up and down while attached. Overall it's a way cheaper alternative to the other ones designed 'for' an Aeron

Do you like these legs? I've been looking to get some for a new desk I am going to build. They are just so cheap in price, I wonder how strong they really are but I do not have an Ikea nearby. Right now, I am looking at a set of hairpin legs on amazon (link) but would love to save a little bit of money. Killer setup dude!

Yes, it's a bit loose. My solution is to stick one of these rubber stickers inside the tip of the fork. It adds enough traction to help things stay in place.

Team invisibility yo! I could be the worlds first ever nudist bank robber :p They both look like a fantastic prize, but the coasters get my slight preference because they are truly limited edition. I can't exactly get them very easily later :) (P.S. The one thing I would add to the coasters are little rubber feet. It gives them traction and provides an air barrier for condensation if you have a cold drink. Here's some I found on Amazon )

u/M0nkey80ne5 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

They are actually pretty sturdy. I have 8 legs, 4 per side desk with the top mounting to both, and they all came with rubber feet. The feet make a big difference as far as sliding, but the legs themselves are solid.

I went with the 3 rod design over the 2 rod because I feel like it'd also help. Here is a link to what I bought.

It happens from the raised boarder around the touch screen. What me and my friends did is we got rubber bumpers and put them in the top left and right corners of the top screen, it still closes and goes to sleep and it stops that annoying scratch line from showing up.

For a netbook?

The cheapest thing to do would be dust it out every so often. If it's out of warranty, reapplying the thermal paste might not be a bad idea either.

Beyond that, you can try to augment the standoffs with little stick-on rubber feet(a 4pk should only cost $3 in a store like Home Depot or Walmart).

That should increase the airflow under the chassis.

So I had to find a solution to my 55" TV being RIGHT next to my play area and 5-6 inches outside of my chaperon boundary. It is a disaster waiting to happen when I get into some more action oriented games.

Ordered some of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Reusable-Furniture-Movers-Carpeted-Surfaces/dp/B001W6Q4VA

to put under my entertainment center so I can move it into my central hallway when playing with my Vive. In my previous apartment, my entertainment center was a bit of a mess of a long power strip connected to several surge protectors which everything hooked up to for power. I don't have cable as I get the vast majority of my entertainment via the net, so the only things that need to be connected to the entertainment center are power and network (may try using my wireless N network). I have one long power strip (has like 10 outlets on it and is about 4 feet long) that has a very long heavy duty cord which I should be able to stretch to keep the power connected to everything on the entertainment center while it's moved. I'm planning on attaching that strip, along with all the surge protectors needed, to the back of the entertainment center.

My play area currently is about 2.5m x 1.9m. and I'm hoping to increase that to 2.1m with moving the entertainment center when needed.

I will report back when I get it all setup, the sliders should be here on Thursday.

It looks like the counter is supported by a piece of angle iron bolted to the wall. And that whatever they put the bolts into isn't providing sufficient structure to carry the weight of the counter top.

Get a piece of stain grade wood that's almost the right length, and attach something like this to the bottom to get it level and carry it: http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Leveler-Wide-Foot/dp/B0037MK8XC/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1416936895&sr=8-8&keywords=leveling+leg

Thinking about assembling a desk as my first DIY project, inspired by a lot of the posts over at /r/battlestations/. I'd be very grateful if someone with experience can double check my plan for obvious faults or suggest a better way of doing things.

I was considering buying a butcher's block countertop, since I really like the way they look. I was looking at this one from Home Depot as the length is pretty much exactly what I want.

I know this needs finished, a friend of mine recommended Danish Oil and this guide. Is Danish Oil sufficient? Whatever I use as finish I don't want it to be overly shiny. I'll use coasters for drinks and might occasionally eat food at the desk.

After I sand/finish the wood, all I would need to do is attach some legs, I was looking at these 28 inch hairpin legs from Amazon. I'm not super attached to these and would welcome alternatives. I just know that I don't want drawers.

Things that I may want to add but haven't decided on: mounting my monitors to the desk itself with an arm, and something to attach to the underside of the desk to assist with cable management.

Is there anything obvious that I'm missing here? I own a drill, other than the wood and legs I'd need to buy some sand paper and danish oil for the finishing. Would this length of wood need support in the middle? I have two 27" monitors that will sit in the middle of the desk, and keyboard/mouse at a minimum. My PC and PS4 might also go on top to the sides.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Leveling feet designed for an aquarium will have no problem holding that kind of weight, but they are difficult to install if your stand doesn't already have them. Wooden shims are cheaper and easier, lay down your plywood base first, then level the tank on top of the plywood.

Do not use these style that mount on the side of the legs/stand as they will rip out of plywood or MDF easily.

Just remember whatever you add will add height! The rubber feet he's talking about can be picked up from RONA or whatever local hardware store in the furniture section. They come in a pack of 20-50 and are adhesive, ususally thrown on table tops and whatnot.

Good point. That sparked my curiousity, so I went on Amazon and found these: https://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Leveler-Wide-Foot/dp/B0037MK8XC#productDetails

Can just get some of these if you don't want to mess up your shoes https://www.amazon.com/Slipstick-CB845-Furniture-Gripper-Chocolate/dp/B000QY7VWA/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=caster+cups&qid=1551293523&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1

That's what I used to use with my office chair, before I got a proper rig.

Don't know about the swiveling situation but I use these under my expensive ergonomic office chair and they work great: https://www.amazon.com/Slipstick-CB845-Furniture-Gripper-Chocolate/dp/B000QY7VWA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1537815771&sr=8-4&keywords=caster+lock

I'm pretty sure they are called rubber bumpers or rubber feet. See this amazon listing. You can probably find something similar in a hardware store near you if you need it immediately.

These + These = What you were asking for.

If you are nervous even with the little tiny feet that come with the UTH, get a pack of these and just glue them (you could even just place them if you wanted) to the bottom of the tank to get more airflow under. I've had these on my tanks for years.

If you need to move your fridge, or anything heavy...boy sliders like [THESE] (https://www.amazon.com/Reusable-Furniture-Sliders-Carpeted-Surfaces/dp/B001W6Q4VA/ref=sr_1_4?s=hardware&ie=UTF8&qid=1520794995&sr=1-4&keywords=furniture+sliders) They're amazing and if you can, I'd put them on your fridge now to avoid the hassle later if there is ever a leak, etc.

Updated the link!

I guess you can get something like these in every hardware store, they should work fine.

u/frenchiebuilder · 1 pointr/fixit

Even easier: a pair of little rubber non-slide feet - one each under the front corner, none under the backs - would probably get you there. Something like this:

Try this

Oops! I didn't realize that, I only say the 25mm. That's why I asked this question lol. Should I rather get these similar metal feet or would you recommend these rubber feet? Maybe these feet instead?

u/FireyWoodedHill · 1 pointr/woodworking

Got them from Amazon. If you search for “hairpin legs,” you’ll find many other styles online.

I use one of these to hold the headphones, and one of those to thread the cord through so that it takes up the slack. Helps prevent me from running over it with my chair.

I've tried desk standing holders. The cables on desk and the way you have to put them on so it doesn't tip over..

On the wall seems even worse in my opinion because this is not the same as guitar or a picture.
You use it more often. At least I do (putting down, back up...)

I have a bit wider desk and found that this is the best solution out there: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00IUD68KA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you end up considering a holder for the table top, this one is excellent. Metal structure and rubberized coating.. Built like a tank, no wobble/creak. I use it to hold two full size cans and there's enough space (can also put a set of IEM there, but I don't use it that way).
Also, no problems using it to hold headphones with a middle suspension band (I have the MDR-CD3000 on it). Ended up preferring this solution when I figured out it doesn't waste any useful space on the desk.

Three years ago, I bought these to stop my office chair from rolling while braking. I'm still using them without issue.

u/TaedusPrime · 1 pointr/buildapc

I followed a home depot blog for the instructions. Got the wood top locally.

I like the pipe fitting look but between having it cut at home depot and spray painting them evenly black, the legs were 90% of the work.

I told another redditor if I did it again I would go with these legs.

I bought these and just sorta super glued them to the bottom: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B075KZBR2Y?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd

I have a Cougar QBX Kaze, with an Aorus 1080ti, with no fans underneath and I usually don't go above 70c.

Yeah, international tracking stops after it gets to Chicago :/ Sometimes it picks pack up once it gets to customs though

Yeah! They're these guys (dimensions in description): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JAW454/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
