$15 Solution:

Oggi 7211 Jumbo Stainless Steel Utensil Holder

These are rattan or bamboo plate holders, and are fairly common. They allow the use of disposable paper by lending strength and structure underneath.

Well, if you're going to gut the kitchen down the line, definitely not worth replacing a brand-new working appliance. I had all kinds of plans to replace this and that when I bought my house and now it's like, well if it works ... ha. Also! I just saw your note about the not-matching white dishwasher and behold, stainless steel contact paper:

https://www.amazon.com/Con-Tact-Creative-Self-Adhesive-18-Inches-Stainless/dp/B001V98IRQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486965574&sr=8-1&keywords=stainless+steel+contact+paper

I used it on my dishwasher and it looks fabulous: https://scontent-ord1-1.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/16123422_366650047040002_5085902827981635584_n.jpg

I am a little touchy about non-standard appliances as I had a hell of a time with my new house. I could strangle the old owners for installing an under-sink DW instead of a regular one.

u/jasonellis · 14 pointsr/Frugal

My mom used to use these.

I realize the cost a bit of money, but would recoup themselves pretty quickly. My mom had them for years.

u/jessel02 · 11 pointsr/Cooking

You have a magnificent spice collection and I think I would love to eat what you cook. Might I suggest getting a lazy susan for a couple of your shelves? I use several of them in my kitchen and I find them quite useful. They come in several sizes too.

u/veronicaxrowena · 11 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I have this same dilemma! So last night I bought a bar cart to organise everything because I’m running out of space in my tiny apartment. I will update with a thorough “skincare storage inspo” post once I’ve organised it properly, hopefully by the end of this week.

Current solution: I have the Jerrybox currently, but in the same week I ordered a clear rotating spice rack and I find that it holds so much more than the Jerrybox. The jerrybox can be limitating due to the dividers, so that’s why the spice rack ended up being more efficient. Picture of my spice rack here.

I’m considering selling my Jerrybox now so that it may have a more loved home. But I don’t know. I’ll see if it functions better elsewhere first.

All of this is dependent greatly on the size of your skincare wardrobe.

ETA: I finally organized everything and posted it here

Back in Eastern Europe you could buy these in every hardware store, but here in Canada I couldn't find them only on Amazon

u/catrick_bateman · 8 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Thank you! It's technically a spice rack lol. I got it on amazon

u/WheelyBob · 7 pointsr/pics

Not really, it depends on you drawer width and what's going in it. It's one of those things you don't really need to order online for the best one, just go look at a couple in the store and grab which makes the most sense. A lot of the ladles, spatulas and wooden spoons like in the linked picture would actually be more organized and accessible if just placed on the counter in something like this

u/sometimesineedhelp · 6 pointsr/TinyHouses

It’s a pan lid organizer:

Agree w others commenting to eat your way through half of that before buying any more.

Adding that you should get some small lazy susans for the bottles that are too thick for a spice rack.

slotted spoons for removing times from broth, creamy sauces such as baked beans, and vegetables from steamed bags or out of pots of water.

it sounds crazy but a silicone cookie spatula like this one is a wonder in the kitchen. (and I don't bake cookies) We have blown through about 4 of these now. cause we use them for everything!

https://www.amazon.com/OXO-1147100-Silicone-Cookie-Spatula/dp/B001QTVT4K/ref=sr_1_4?

I hate hate hate when my cutting board slips around when I am trying to cut, chop etc. so I bought this stuff cut to fit under my cutting boards and use it all the time. you can get a small roll of this stuff at Walmart for about 3 dollars

https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Grip-Original-Non-Adhesive-Cabinets/dp/B07DQB1Z2R/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?

I also use tongs all the time and have thought everyone else to use them also. great for fries, picking up anything hot out of a skillet turning over things you can't grab with your hands, etc.

I have some like this for my nonstick pans (so I don't scratch them)

https://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Silicone-Non-Stick-Stainless-Grilling/dp/B074WB5D79/ref=sr_1_8?

and some of these for my stainless steel pans and the grill

As many have said, Baskets that are clear or where you can put a label would work well for miscellaneous items and items that group well together like sauces. I would use a can dispenser like this one since you have the room. If it was me I would definitely get a few roll out trays for a few of the lower shelves, that is if you can. It would make getting to the things in the back easier, specially for items you use almost daily. Clear stack-able containers are great for seeing what you have, I see you have one clear bin, those are good for pulling out things like spices and sauces. They make it easy for pulling out and putting back when your done.

Even better, buy some non-slip shelf liner, like this stuff, and cut it to fit. Lasts forever and you don't have to get it wet.

u/Semper-Fido · 3 pointsr/funkopop

I got some of these for the display in my office: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KPH3WD0/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_bBvHwb0KK34Q4

They work well. Hold 3-4 pops per step.

If anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative, I got one of these from Amazon. It holds up to 14 30mL bottles per shelf (7 across x 2 deep x 3 shelves = 42 total). It works great and as soon as I fill this one up, I'll be buying another.

u/WubbaLubbaDubStep · 2 pointsr/EatCheapAndHealthy

My honest opinion: If you can read, you can cook. Literally. Basic cooking is simply reading instructions and following them. Once your comfortable with how things taste together, timing, and what spices taste like, then you can move on to more advanced dishes.

I think a fun part of learning to cook is gearing up. Since most people here will give you a grocery list, I'll give you a list of helpful items that I use daily.

  • 1 large, sharp kitchen knife and basic sharpener

The knife if a bit on the pricey side, but trust me when I tell you it's worth it. You only need 1 and as long as you hand wash and dry regularly, it can last forever. Sharp knives won't cut you as often as a dull knife that sometimes slips.

  • crock pot. This is good because it doesn't require any sort of culinary skills. Mostly just mix and wait.

  • Liquid Measuring cup

  • Dry measuring cups

  • Flat spatula

  • Other spatula (for stirring and wiping out sauces/batter/etc.)

  • Tongs

  • Very basic non-stick pots and pans I have a cheap set I bought from Costco that has lasted me 8 years and counting. Be sure to ALWAYS use wood or plastic utensils with non-stick or you risk scratching the non-stick surface and fucking it all up.

  • Wooden Utensils These are nice because you can leave them in a pot of sauce and not worry about them expelling chemicals or melting.

  • Also a holder for your kitchen items

I assume you have basic dishware and silverware, so I've only included common cooking items.

Hope this helps! I'll update if I can think of anything else you'll need.

Hilariously, it is a spice rack I got for $15 on Amazon.

u/Rickypeps · 2 pointsr/ageofsigmar

Sooooo I use cardboard boxes. Usually vegetable boxes from the grocery store as they have handles but this works with any size box. Then I go to the dollar store and get a roll of drawer grip liner (like this stuff https://www.amazon.com/Liner-Non-Adhesive-Shelf-Anti-Slip-Drawer/dp/B079Y7TZMN ) I then cut the liner to fit the bottom of the box and boom mini carrier. You can't tip it upside down but the mini's actually stick to the liner a bit and so are very secure for carrying and car trips. This doesn't work for longer travel (air etc..) but for storage or local-ish events its perfect and stupid cheap!!

u/mischiffmaker · 2 pointsr/Cooking

I recently invested in a bunch of nice oils and vinegars, myself. I use a lazy-susan type carousel to put them on. You might need two, but I'm thinking I have about 12 bottles on mine (not at home atm).

Edit: Here's a sample of what I'm talking about. The size will determine how many bottles it will hold, of course.

u/miaoling · 2 pointsr/LifeProTips

Problem is a towel rack can hold 2 lids max and will set you back $10 or thereabouts, whereas this holds 5 lids and costs $9. This is an issue with a lot of repurposing "tricks".

u/TriggerPixie · 2 pointsr/RedditLaqueristas

Is it not having a shelf for your polish so you can show off all the pretty colors when friends are over? I highly recommend this one, it looks like it will fit your collection well with a little room left to expand (and is the same one I got when my polish stopped fitting in it's drawer):

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IFLH2U6/ref=sspa_mw_detail_6?psc=1

u/spicymay0 · 2 pointsr/succulents

It's pretty nice having it on shelves instead of my windowsill (it was getting crowded!). I have this shelf from amazon, and I also got these shelf liners. The bigger sized shelf liners were cheaper, so I just cut them to size afterwards.

You can customize the height of the shelves and it's on wheels, so I can wheel it over to the kitchen for their weekly watering. It's pretty awesome!

u/brew-ski · 2 pointsr/ZeroWaste

Yeah! This is the style I remember from summer vacations as a kid. They last forever, and could make a nice holiday gift.

u/Girlinnjtraffic · 2 pointsr/OrganizationPorn

I bought them off Amazon. SimpleHouseware Stackable Can Rack Organizer, Chrome https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IIXR2II/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tJuyCb0SFGRBX

This can be cut to any size drawer. I had the same problem, used them in my drawers and stuff doesn't slide any more.

I live in bathroom hell -- not only do I have to share a bathroom with my husband, but it is a Jack&Jill bathroom with my 21 & 23 yo sons on the other side in a teensy bungalow that will be perfect for our retirement and when our sons move out, but for now... hell. One bathroom, with one sink, vanity with two cupboards (one half of which has the plumbing), one drawer above the right cupboard. We have a three-section mirrored medicine cabinet. That is the extent of the storage. So here is how we have allocated:

Medicine Cabinet:
- I have the entire left section over the sink. This has my toothbrush, mouthwash, hair stuff, and most of my daily skincare items.
- Sons share the middle section.

- Husband has most of the right third. He doesn't require much, just shaving stuff, dental stuff, soap. I use his bottom shelf for my taller/overflow skincare items.

Vanity

- Left side cupboard with the plumbing has my digital scale and a few cleaning items, spare air freshener, etc.

- I just last week re-organized the right side. Before it was a gigantic empty deep hole, and while I would put things in baskets to make them easier to find and pull out, it was a pain, not to mention all the wasted space above the products. I bought two of these and they fit perfectly side by side in the cupboard, with maybe ~4" space remaining in front. My only wish is that the bottom drawers were slightly taller. I have a few items that I'd like to put in the drawers that are too tall. Those that are too tall I am currently putting in front of the drawers on one side. I'll have to move them out of the way to pull out that bottom drawer. Not a big deal, but not as convenient as I'd like. There is enough room left on top to put baskets on top of each side, which I have done. Everything pulls out easily and smoothly and I no longer have to bump my head and shoulders when reaching into the far depths of the cupboard.
- Drawer above the right cupboard - this drawer is maybe 5 or 6 inches tall, and it's deep. The I have some short baskets to hold hair ties, cotton rounds, toothpaste, lip stuff, everyday cosmetics, flat iron, things like that. Things I'll reach for every day, and need more at hand than the stuff in the drawers below.

My kids can keep their bodywash and shampoo in the shower, but anything else they have to store in their bedroom. Too bad for them.

u/ecafsub · 2 pointsr/modelmakers

How is that better than a 12” lazy Susan that’s $4 cheaper?

u/dankostecki · 1 pointr/woodworking
u/TootsNYC · 1 pointr/organization

If the turntable is about 9" wide, you will have a few inches in front of it. If you take up that space with something attached to the back of the door, then you won't have stuff in front of it to have to move out of the way.

I'm kind of liking this turntable idea!

However, most of the plastic Rubbermaid ones I'm seeing are 10" or 10.5" across, which won't work for you. This bamboo one from Home Depot is 8" across and 7.3 inches tall, so I'm not sure you could get it in there.

There are smaller ones; Copco makes a single at 9"; this clear one with high sides is 9", and the sides are thinner, it would fit more, but you'd have to lift it up and over.
Here's atwo-tier 9" one; it has those higher sides that will keep stuff from falling off.

u/megaanmaarie · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Right now, my silverware draw is just kinda, well, um, a mess. This would greatly be appreciated and help neaten it up. And this is just needed because of reasons. Yay, stock my house! Good luck moving into your new place :D

u/mnshane89 · 1 pointr/houseplants

I bought these shelf liners. They come in a bunch of different sizes.

u/chilluminati · 1 pointr/DesignMyRoom

the blue in the kitchen is nice, but like what u/jesushx was saying about covering stuff in contact paper, your dishwasher might look cool with this over the bottom part (not where the knobs are) http://www.amazon.com/Multipurpose-Shelf-Liner-Faux-Stainless/dp/B001V98IRQ

i would just paint the green, maybe a light gray would be nice and compliment the blue kitchen

u/HotRodLincoln · 1 pointr/TinyHouses

On 18, I have a storage device for boxes of wax paper and aluminum foil and such on the back of doors. The downside is it has to be mounted perfectly, and, the boxes have to be shorter than the space between whatever shelves are in the cabinet you're mounting it between.

I have a similar cabinet door rack for pot/pan lids. It had to go on the outside of the cabinet (ala #11). A single curtain rod like 21 is probably a better idea, unless your lids are pretty much flat and your shelves stop short.

u/Aoifa · 1 pointr/homeowners

I would just as soon use something like a Con-Tact shelf liner:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079Y7TZMN/

I use these for RPG dungeon tiles and they work great to keep things from sliding around, and make cards easier to pick up. Not as fancy, but functional.

How about a wall mounted organizer like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0037040KQ

u/starfishe · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am an organizational freak in my apartment & my car. It can get a little ridiculous at times, but knows that everything is in its place is just very calming for me. This would be awesome because our roomate just moved out and my kitchen is an organizational nightmare. It is a slow process, but everything is slowly getting back in its place!!

Thanks for the contest, this was fun!

u/ThatOneRedhead · 1 pointr/DesignMyRoom

Get a clear acrylic tiered shelf, like this one

u/GreatQuestionBarbara · 1 pointr/FoodPorn

Buy some of that rubber stuff you line the bottom of your cupboards with.

Something like this, but I personally haven't tried this brand.

u/Blu_Spirit · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am trying to be more organized and less of a hoarder (that's my hubby's term - I call it a dreamer). Starting with the kitchen - I often plan a week of meals, then grocery shop for ingredients, only to find out we already had half of them from the last time I meal planned, and only cooked for 2 days out of the 5...so anything to organize our food storage so I can quickly see what we already have would definitely help me with that - as well as cut down on wasting food that expired because I forgot it was in the back of our cupboard.

Was thinking one of those can organizers would be perfect.

u/under_design · 1 pointr/DIY

u/dragon34 · 1 pointr/Cooking

You could use something like this for the lids:
http://www.amazon.com/Organize-It-All-Cabinet-Door/dp/B001B0PPBC

u/LaLocaChristina · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This rack would be good for spices and maybe this for organizing lids to pots as they always take up so much space. I would put spices in cute bottles.

Cool looking shelves would be a attractive way to get a little more storage.

You didn't mention needing anything in the bathroom but I have found in small spaces something like this over the toilet is really helpful. You can also get them with cabinets instead of shelves if you want to be able to hide stuff.

u/DonHac · 1 pointr/FTC

I've seen good results with shelf liner material, like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DQB1Z2R/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_-RAYDbJ6F8H9C Reasonably grippy, and with a little bit of give so that you can grip tight without straining the motors.
