I have trouble standing and walking, but am fine when sitting, so most of my advice is from that viewpoint.
Swiffers for everything! Mop/sweeper, duster, dusting cloths, etc. They're really efficient and disposable so I don't have to deal with things like mop buckets, dirty mop heads, cleaning feather dusters, anything like that.
One of those extendable pincher things to help pick stuff up off the floor.
An extendable scrubber for the bathroom. The shape makes it really easy to get into corners.
A clothes folder makes it really easy to fold your clothes, and I can use this on my lap while sitting down in bed.
A walker with a seat makes it really easy to get around to do things and has a seat for when I need to sit down. The basket that most come with helps to carry supplies from one room to the next.
Stick vaccums are super lightweight and easy to maneuver even from a couch or bed.
A scrubbing attachment that goes on a power drill is so helpful when you don't have the strength or stamina to scrub by hand.
I swear by all of the Kaboom products. All of them are no-effort cleaning supplies. They have toilet cleaner, mold and mildew cleaner, and, of course, the famous shower foam.
An automatic vacuum like a roomba is great for most people, but I've never had one so I can't comment myself.
Soak your dishes. There are special products that help get dried on food off your dishes, but I've found that just soaking them in hot water for 20-30 minutes before trying to wash them gets most stuck on food off. For really tough, baked on gunk, add a dryer sheet to the water. Sounds weird, but it helps soften up the crusty blackened burnt on food and it comes off easily.
For food that's stuck on the inside of the microwave, take a cup of water, add some lemon juice, and microwave it on full power for 6 minutes. The food will wipe right off.

I haven't tried it yet but it came up in another thread. There's toilet bowl cleaners that attach directly to the fill valve so the cleaner never goes into the tank.

This is usually due to hard water deposits, which become stained. You need something acidic to break them up. My favorite is the Lysol brand line of toilet gels, which are labeled as being for lime and rust. They contain (diluted) hydrochloric acid.
The gel consistency will help the acidic product stick to stains long which to break it up. I would squirt it up there and let it sit for several hours or overnight.

I've gone round and round on this myself. I think it boils down to how 'clean' things need to be in order to keep you happy. I'm a neat freak. Clorox wipes + Softscrub take care of most of my cleaning needs, but there's a good number of specialty items I get because they simplify my life, and simple is pretty close to minimal for me.
For example, just yesterday I made what is likely a non-minimalist purchase to most: Vinyl floor polish. I used ammonia to strip the floors ($1.25 and 3 hours of scrubbing), but the polish most certainly was not. $12 for a bottle that I'll use maybe once while living in this house. The balance for me is that my scuffed up, dirt-encrusted floors are now sparkling clean and a near mirror shine.
Another one I can think of is toilet tabs... the ones that make the water blue. It means I only have to scrub the toilet every couple of weeks instead of every week and have never had to deal with limescale. I bought a bulk pack and now have to store them in the linen closet, but it was worth it for the time I save to spend on other things.
As far as a simplified kit goes: Clorox wipes are my daily surface cleaner (could be subbed for a jug of any cleaner in a spray bottle, but my roommates won't use it if it's not super-easy), and Soft Scrub w/ Bleach is for the deep clean. I have a pack of scouring pads but found I don't need them, a small plastic bristle brush takes care of most of the scrubbing. The Soft Scrub is great for every surface in the bathroom and kitchen once a week. I have a jug of ammonia for the windows and stainless appliances as needed. Vinegar is already highly used in my kitchen and it can be used for a lot of the same things as ammonia. I have an 8-Pack of dish cloths that serve as my rags and paper towels, and a flip-mop for everything the floors need. I personally avoid soap for everyday cleaning since I notice the streaks and soap scum build up, and it doesn't sterilize/sanitize.
I bought multi-packs of each of these items or big jugs to keep it cheap, and keep them all in a white bucket under the sink / in the closet. I haven't needed additional cleaning supplies other than the wipes in about 3 years now. Even the wipes work out to about $0.04 each, and I use 3-5 in a day.
IGNORE all the other suggestions, trust me, this stuff is AMAZING and requires NO effort, Clorox Clinging Bleach Gel, showers, sinks, toilets, put it on, no scrubbing, no effort, leave it for a few hours, rinse off and every stain will be gone

This depends on which one you get.
This one feeds cleaner directly into the bowl, without chlorinating the tank. That one would be fine to NOT flush daily.
You are going to have to replace the toilet. It's pretty easy to do but it's good excuse to get a nice upgraded throne. Add this to the tank and you should good to go.

I would get one of these for the toilet. That mostly takes care of the inside of the toilet. As for the seat and rim a pre bleached wipe would take care of that. As for the rest of the bathroom, keep a mop that you use only for the tub and bathroom counters and use that to clean everything else. You can finish and entire bathroom in 5 min or so if it's not caked on dirty.
Have you tried the bleach drop in tablets for the toilet tank? I am very sensitive to bleach so I was concerned about using them, but I can hardly smell anything at all and they keep the toilet bowls a lot cleaner than they stay without them.

I get them from target now, since amazon has stopped selling them for the price I want. These clean the bowl with the bleach and die the water blue with the other part. does a good job of keeping stains out and killing bacteria so it doesn't smell atrocious.
it is not a cure all though. you will need to flush it every now and then.

As a cheaper (and safer) alternative, you can add some vinegar to the water and boil the kettle. But it'll take longer and might not remove stubborn limescale.
I use this bag every day and it's absolutely perfect. Won't fit a laptop that isn't a small netbook or those tiny Macbook Air's though.

Yes, bleach will damage rubber gaskets causing them to leak prematurely. Don't use bleach in the tank. As an alternative, I recommend systems like this which release bleach into the bowl only. (Don't purchase via Amazon though -- you can find it much cheaper locally.)
We had a similar issue but not as bad. I purchased a Toilet bowl Cleaner System. It is a small container that holds a toilet cleaner tablet and it is installed on the line that fills the toilet bowel. So every time you flush it sends a little bit of cleaner chemical into the bowl. It worked great for us. Kaboom makes them but the tablets can get expensive. I purchased our generic system from Ebay. Also I use the bromine tablets instead of the chlorine tablets because they smell to much for me but some people like that chlorine smell, also from Ebay. Here is a link.
He points out something really important though. People, not just the poor, deal with this every day. You ever walk into a bathroom that someone just used and smell their shit and be like, "fuck, I'll come back later" and turn the fan on?
Or how about buying clorox tablets for your toilet bowl so it "automatically" cleans it every flush? And then realize it has that strong bleach smell afterwards that's in some cases just as bad as smelling other odors? Nevermind the fact that those tablets can damage the rubber gaskets in certain toilets.
So what to do about it if you live in a first world country but don't want a better toilet cleaning system? Well you basically need to buy a toilet kit that uses bromine tablets. For example, the Kaboom auto cleaning system on Amazon thats cheap with Tropi Clear/SpaKem 267 tablets will all do the trick with no odor. Or you can get the more expensive professional NeverScrub system, but a lot of contractors use the Kaboom system.
Compare all that with replacing your pipes that can neutralize odor. Hell installing copper pipes in your house for heating already costs 100 times more than this.
Notice I don't recognise half the brand names, so if you're UK based, go for cillit bang for the bath, sink and exterior toilet.
Inside the toilet dump some harpic limescale remover down there and leave it to settle. After about 20minutes scrub it good with the brush and then flush. Your toilet should be absolutely spotless and shiny. If not repeat until it does.

I get the black stuff in my master bath toilet.
Only thing that has worked for me is weekly cleaning with a toilet bowl cleaner that you can spray up under the rim and a brush that can get under the rim too.
I had plumbers out for something else and they said it was the water supply, which I believe.
I’ve just ordered Ka-Boom kit. Heard it helps with under rim and ring stuff.
