Simple Micellar Cleansing Water: $22.99 - Lasts me ~3 months

Cereve Hydrating Cleanser $12.39

Thayer's Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Toner: $6.99 - Lasts me ~4 months

TruSkin Vitamin C Serum: $19.99 - Lasts me ~4 months

Simple Protecting Light Moisturizer SPF 15: $8.11 - Lasts me ~5 months

Simple Quench Sleeping Cream: $9.96

The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%: $7.90

Jack Black Lip Balm: $7.50

I'm sure there's variations in price based on where you get it and if amazon is having sales/add ons etc. Total is about $110 if you went out and bought all the products at once or roughly $20 a month. Totally reasonable imo!

EDIT: Bad math, sorry, I needed to count the Micellar water twice since it doesn't last me as long as the other products. Totals are estimates.

EDIT #2: Forgot the CereVe cleanser so I added that in as well. Some of the items don't have estimated time frames of how long it takes me to use up because I've never used them up.

I failed to keep the mascaras I went through this year... my bad... But I always use Maybelline Lash Stiletto.

What have I learned? I should really tone down my purchases of products like eyeshadow palettes and blush palettes. It takes FOREVER to get through one. And yet I have so maaany.

The Skinfood honey pot lip balm is cute. It's about $8 for the prime option.

Tony Moly also has adorable lip balms. Here's an Amazon listing that has all 5 "flavors".

It's Skin also has cute macaron shaped lip balms.

I can't really vouch for their effectiveness – I have the SkinFood one but I mostly just look at it. I mainly use aquaphor and lanolin on my lips!

u/aprettyfire · 7 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Anyone know if this listing on amazon is the real thing? it's a bit cheaper than this one, though I can't figure out why

u/veronicaxrowena · 7 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

There are many popular products that people swear by to help treat dry lips.

My preferred method is this:

  • I apply a droplet of Kiku-Masamune High Moist Lotion on my lips and let it sink in
  • I then add a drop of Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Lotion on them and let it dry down a tad
  • Then I follow up with either Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask or Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

During the daytime when I’m out I’ll use Jack Black Intense Lip Therapy SPF 25 as my last layer instead.

    About the products mentioned:

  • The Kiku High Moist is a facial toner that’s full of great ingredients such as ceramides and arbutin, among other items. It is sake-based and has a unique scent because of it. I bought it to use as a hydrating toner in my facial routine, but have since learned that it has many additional great functions. I use it on my body as well, and others have even mentioned using it on their hair. When I’m doing my face routine I just make sure to add some to my lips as well, or if I am just having dry lips I’ll just add a tiny drop to my finger and rub it on my lips as a first layer.
  • The Hada Labo is also a hydrating toner. It has 5 different Hyaluronic acid molecules, which are humectants. The hyaluronic acid will trap moisture.
  • The Laneige Lip Mask is a thick lip mask that moisturises the lips (although you can just apply a tiny amount for thinner application). It’s meant to be put on at night as an overnight treatment for your lips, but some people (like me) like to also use it throughout the day, just not as heavy of an amount. The standard scent is berry, but if you search on some Asian beauty sites you’ll see that it also comes in vanilla, grapefruit and apple lime. Here is a link to a review of the product posted this week
  • The Bite Agave Lip Mask is a very thick lip treatment, but the main ingredient is lanolin. I haven’t tried plain lanolin, so I can’t compare it to the basic stuff, but you could try just purchasing a generic brand of lanolin instead if you preferred.

    Links to products I mentioned:

  • Kiku-Masamune High Moist Lotion
  • Hada Labo Premium Gokujyun Lotion
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
  • Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask
  • Jack Black Intense Lip Therapy Balm

Seconding this! Lanolin is the only thing that leaves my lips moisturized and soft after its worn off. I use this balm and have recently started using lanolips as well. Its a little pricier but there are some fun tints.

u/everydayscaries · 5 pointsr/Accutane

I recommend [Dr. Dan's Cortibalm] (https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Dans-Cortibalm-Balm-Count/dp/B00DME6W76/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1520993027&sr=8-4&keywords=dr+dans+cortibalm), it should help with the swelling. On top of that put lanolin - I use this [one]
(https://www.amazon.com/Lansinoh-Breastfeeding-Moisturizer-Preservative-Hypoallergenic/dp/B005MI648C/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1520992749&sr=8-6&keywords=lanolin). The [Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask] (https://www.amazon.com/LANEIGE-SLEEPING-Berry-Sleeping-Treatment/dp/B018AYHZX2/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_194_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=6CE1FFJBSM6B0QN5JPNK) is also great. I've been using all of those products and my lips are looking better than they did before accutane. Also, I get buying three things isn't realistic for some folks, so I would suggest getting the Dr. Dan's and putting vaseline over it.

u/Anya5678 · 4 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I'm going suggest things that are exciting in some way. Whether that's packaging, a fun experience when using the product, or a scent you know they like. While we all know how great COSRX or other brands are, those are a bit bland to get as a gift. I'd also stay away from make-up, besides lip balm, as that tends to be very dependent on personal preference. Obviously no hardhitting things like actives, way too much potential for that to not work for them. Here's a few suggestions (all links are Amazon non-affiliate):

u/baby_lawn · 4 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Weleda Everon Lip Balm - This is my daily lip balm that I carry around with me. Its first ingredients are jojoba seed oil, beeswax, and shea butter. It goes on super sheer and matte, and hydrates my lips for hours. Added bonus, is also an awesome primer for lipstick application! It smells like roses and vanilla. I pick it up from my local health food store for around $6.

Australian Gold Lanolin Lip Balm - I apply this at the end of my night routine and sleep with a semi-thick layer on. I would wear this in the daytime if it wasn't so messy and glossy. My lips have never been so smooth until I started using this product. Before I incorporated this, my lips were usually flaky and peely under lipsticks. Now, they are smooth and soft! I get mine from amazon for under $10 including shipping (see link)

u/peony_chalk · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Since nobody said it, Black Jack lip balm is hands down my HG. It's expensive for lip balm, but I feel like it's actually moisturizing and protecting my lips instead of just coating them, and it's the only SPF lip balm I've found that doesn't make my lips white or have a funky aftertaste. It is on the thicker side though -- like it's probably only a little bit thinner than Carmex, so it might not be up your alley.

u/mochugo · 3 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

I looked up nipple creams and most look pretty normal unless you look closely (then they usually have something like "for nipples and dry skin"). Anyway, you could get just one Lanolips at Ulta with the 20% off, but the plain Superbalm one is out of stock, and I feel like the other ones might be risky for you since they've got different things like cocoa butter and essential oils. Nordstrom has the Superbalm for $17 (free shipping), JCrew has it for $17 (plus $5 flat shipping) but you can get 15% off with an email signup code, QVC has it for $16.95 (plus $3 shipping) but you can get $5 off with your first purchase with the code FIVE4U, and if you're wanting your balm fast Amazon has it for $22.99 with Prime. I've got a Prime membership I'd be happy to share with you if you don't have it and want to try the balm quickly:)

I also tried to find pure lanolin balms since Lanolips isn't exactly cheap, but the vast majority have other ingredients like shea butter, beeswax, jojoba oil, etc. Those all sound very nice, but I'm assuming the point of trying Lanolips is the fact that it's pure lanolin, so those balms probably aren't right for you. I did find one product that's 100% pure anhydrous (idk what the significance of that is, but they made a point of it) lanolin balm. They've got it in both tube and tub form but I figured you'd prefer the convenience of tube - you can get four tubes for $9.80 plus $3.95 shipping through Amazon here. I couldn't find just one tube though, they only do four at a time:/

u/PMmeifyourepooping · 3 pointsr/MakeupLounge
u/synsa · 3 pointsr/LifeProTips

Get a lip balm that is 100% pure lanolin. This is a natural moisturizer derived from sheep wool that doesn't hurt the animal. But it's the most moisturizing substance available and has no scent. Some ingredients like petroleum actually cause your lips to dry and make it necessary to reapply constantly. Lanolin looks very similar to petroleum but works wonders. It's more pricey but only because you can't get a lot from each sheep wool. So lanolin is very thick and can be sticky though. You'll want to apply it at night before bed. Your lips should be soft the next day and you won't have to apply in the day time.

[This is what I'm talking about] (https://www.amazon.com/Pure-Anhydrous-Lanolin-Balm-Tubes/dp/B015M2KAG4/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1518683488&sr=8-5&keywords=lanolin+lip+balm)

This is so great OP! Thanks for sharing - I love camping, traveling, whatever and it definitely takes a toll on your skin + you're limited to such a small amount of liquids for planes as well...

Does anybody know the pros + cons of Vaseline vs. Lanolin? I've read they're pretty comparable in terms of what they're meant to do for your skin (occlusive, protects, moisturizes).

I've tried regular Vaseline before and it's pretty greasy, makes my face shine like it's been polished, easy to wipe off by accident. Then recently I tried this expensive tiny little bottle of Dr Lipp Nipple Balm (which is primarily lanolin) and that proved pretty sticky (like nearly adhesive-level sticky) and uncomfortable...

u/1h0w4w4y · 2 pointsr/antiMLM

This is my saving grace.

You don’t need to take it off after. And it’s minty.

u/Smith5002x · 2 pointsr/amiugly

I agree that it isn't a deal breaker. You are an attractive guy. You look tallish.

However, if your nose bothers you, have you considered rhinoplasty? I do think it would improve your look.

As far as your lips.... . I highly recommend Eos Lip Balm. Stay away from Chapstick as it has an addictive ingredient that will make you lick more and keep you with perpetually chapped lips.

u/angrygeek · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

not sure if it is the same one but you can buy a similar one on Amazon

u/alltheblushespls · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Any recommendations for a good korean/asian lip tint? I've had my eye on this one by Etude house, but I really have no idea if it's any good!

u/pulloutifsharp · 2 pointsr/trumpet

for chapped lips pros use vaseline or nothing. Licking your lips makes the chapping worse, btw.

You can wear a lot of colors. I like the ones others are suggesting. There is a website that might help you find beauty bloggers who have similar coloring. Then you could look at their makeup.

http://www.savvyist.com/beauty-guru

Here are a few pinks and nudes that might work:

Maybelline Pink Me Up She actually might have similar coloring to you.

A few Maybelline swatches from a different blogger.

Revlon Colorburst Pink Truffle

Revlon Colorburst Rosy Nude

Revlon Lip Butter swatches

More Revlon Lip Butter swatches
I think a lot of these might work. Maybe Berry Smoothie or Candy Apple.

If you're open to asian beauty products, this is a tint. Etude House Cherry lip tint Red or orange might be fun.

u/kokomocat · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

Yo could try the constant use of Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment or as soon as you feel them drying, to moisturize with Vaseline (like you have been doing).

What I do -this is just personal/anecdotal experience- is apply some Vick VapoRub at night and that seems to help them a lot, I do it at most 2 times a week since camphor and menthol irritate membranes but it helps me; after that I just continue with use of Vaseline or the Blistex Balm until they heal and I avoid at all costs to pick at them or lick them.

Good luck!

u/hey_dummy_ · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

This is me! I recently picked up DHC Lip Cream thanks to some recommendations on subs here, and it has been a godsend. It's easy to apply, not sticky, and is really very effective. I can't recommend it enough.

u/tallslutnopanteez · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I signed up for subscribe & save on amazon to get 2 D.H.C. lip creams
a month. I also got the Laneige overnight lip mask, and have been topping that off with vaseline at night.

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. I'm naturally pale and you can literally FEEL yourself burning, even while coated in sunscreen.

I've found it's way easier to keep up with the necessary water intake by buying a lot of La Croixs. They're a godsend.

I'm two months in and my face is finally clearing up. My first month was pretty much hell, and it started clearing up about a week ago. It's weird, because I was breaking out a lot, but even still my face still seemed more even toned than before? I don't know, it's weird.

Hello!
My name is Kaitlynn.
My favorite product is my MAC 217 brush. It makes blending so frigging easy and looks perfect!
My favorite look is always changing! Some days I love red lips, pink the next and then some days just lip balm. I usually love a smoky brown eye since my eyes are blue.
I like marble cheese with mustard. Fun fact.

Codename Duchess!

I literally made a separate Add-On list with all my wanted SFW add-ons, then played with numbers until I reached the total of as close to $25 as I could come with the things I wanted the most... I ended up reaching $25.11. (I wanted to stay right at, or BARELY over!!) I started out by marking all of my BIG wants as "high priority", then started playing with numbers to come up with my actual list for the contest. I marked each of those items as "highest priority"... so, my list is:

  • an Elspeth MTG deck box

  • concealer because I don't have a good one... even out of ALL the makeup I do own. LoL

  • the good Blistex for when the weather is reaking havoc on these sultry lips o' mine

  • the make up brush that I will be having an affair with, to the dismay of my other brushes.

  • and lastly, back to my nerdy MTG habbit... some bad ass girlie pink Monster dice!

I would have done this sooner, but I received some bad news and spent some wallowing time... Thank you for hosting. Participating and playing around with Amazon gave me the distraction I needed, and I feel clearer headed and more accepting of the news I got tonight. <3

I’ve found that Aquaphor and DHC Lip Cream help penetrate my lips on a deeper level, but unfortunately it doesn’t really help when I just keep ripping off the skin that heals back...

u/mymagicalbox · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

Nivea lip balm is the first lip balm I ever thoroughly used a whole tube of, then bought another. I like the blue ones the best, a kiss of smoothness and a kiss of moisture I think. The lip butters in the tins are nice too and smell really good! I recently bought a Palmer's cocoa butter lip balm on a whim from a 5 Below store and it's actually really nice! When I first opened it, it was a bit hard so it takes your body heat to warm the product up but once you use it several times it's good to go and it's really moisturizing. I'm really picky about lip balms and chapsticks! :P

u/rightfootedglove · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
u/petitenouille · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I’m sorry if this isn’t helpful but I was using this lip balm for a while and though it’s still available to me I’ve moved on to a few other ones.

My top 3 are Nivea Lip Butter (but only get the vanilla one, the fruity ones suck)

Nivea Essenial (blue tube only!)

These Nivea products are amazing. I keep the tin on my nightstand and the sticks in all my bags. I find that on a new stick I have to scrape off a bit of the top layer of the sticks to get them to be effective, no idea why. But both these Nivea products actually melt away all the dead skin and I much prefer them over rêve du miel (which feels like more of an occlusive)

And glossier Balm Dotcom in the unscented formula.

I like this one before using lip glosses or other lip products, and it’s great for dry areas like cuticles or flaky skin from a breakout. This one is more of an occlusive, and it’s a killer combo to layer this one on top of the Nivea formulas.

u/Sinnocent · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Holy. Shit. Everything about your line is AWESOME! The names. The colors. HOW DO I CHOOSE!?

  1. Maybe I'm being super simple but my everyday beauty "tool" is EOS Lipgloss. It keeps my lips hydrated and smooth, it smells/tastes delicious, and I am never without it.
  2. This is seriously a DILEMMA. I have SO many I like. Ughhhh... I'm going to go with "I'm Not a Doctor, I'm a Cosmetologist". Or "Protoplanetary Disco". I seriously can't decide, so surprise me.
  3. In the course of the next year I just want to continue losing weight. It's a difficult goal because of my medical conditions, but I'm at least committed to losing 10 pounds. If I lose more, awesome, but anything is better than nothing. I'm doing well on my diet and have been for the last 6 months, but I'm also trying to do more now with it to make it even better.

Poppin bottles! I'm a nail polishaholic. It's a problem. You make BEAUTIFUL polishes. Thanks for the opportunity!!

My favorite lip products keeping my lips moisturized and not crusty are the unscented O'Keeffe's Original Lip Repair during the day and Lansinoh Lanolin at night before I go to sleep.

u/silly_pig · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I had horribly dry lips when winter kicked in, and I was well hydrated, had tried exfoliating, and also applied a lot of Burt's Bees. Burt's Bees didn't actually do anything and I think made my lips worse. I went to the first aid section of the supermarket and got some lip products that actually help:

  1. Vaseline Lip Therapy http://www.amazon.com/Vaseline-Lip-Therapy-Advanced-35/dp/B0002EZWO8

  2. Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment http://www.amazon.com/Blistex-BLX22880-Medicated-Lip-Ointment/dp/B00166633A/ref=sr_1_4?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1421039864&sr=1-4&keywords=blistex+medicated+lip+balm

I use the Blistex for when my lips are very chapped and the Vaseline as my regular lip balm now. I never have a problem with chapped lips now. Your lips don't seem to be that bad, so you might just need the Vaseline one.

If your lipstick is old, it might be the lipstick being drying as well.

I'm on bed rest right now too. I know it's not a lot of fun, so I hope you can get back to being active soon. AS for my favorite product right now, it's not very glamorous, but I needed it to able to wear any lip product. I take meds that dry out my skin and while I do drink a lot of water, my poor lips have been torn up and wouldn't heal. That is until I tried O'Keef's Lip Repair.
