E. “Black Sabbath”

Yes, I have several of these

Also, check out my Etsy shop, SucculentBasin. I don’t have any Black Sabbaths available, but there are many other rare and unique varieties up for grabs!

It is this Kingbo one. I have a lot of pots under it, approximately two to four inches above the plants, on for approximately 17 hrs a day.

Gladly! These are the lights that I bought. Just saw that they are 50% of the price at which I paid for them back in December. I HIGHLY recommend them.

These aren’t the same lights, but if you’re looking for specific grow lights to chain together like this, I can recommend these: [6-Pack] LED Grow Light Strips for Plants 2FT, 60W (6 x 10W) t5 High Output Integrated Fixture Extendable 24 Inches Grow Lights for Greenhouse, Plant Grow Shelf, Easy Installation https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FZTKYXV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_h-pJDbD7RGXM3

I intend to cover it with more of the black walnut that's used above, but in a Japanese shoji lamp-style, so there will be a lamp at the bottom.

Basics of the setup:

  • Grow area: 3" PVC pipes with 2" net cups spaced every few inches. The pipes have water running to each row and can be detached separately for cleaning.
  • Overflow gutter: 4" PVC pipes cut lengthwise hold the 3" PVC pipes so that in the event of an overflow, the water goes into these gutters.
  • Overflow + pipe routing: The overflow gutters are part of a frame that contains the supply lines (going up on the left) and the drainage lines (going down the right). Any overflow will go into the frame and down into the reservoir.
  • Reservoir: 4" PVC pipes with enough capacity to hold 2x the water capacity of the 3" pipes up above. Not visible in the picture is a ball valve to drain the system for refilling. You can kinda see it in the bottom right of this IMAGE. I mounted it to the wall with heavy-duty brackets.
  • Lights: These and these are mounted on the underside of the wooden covers.
  • Pump: This

The grow area is physically separate from the reservoir so I can detach and clean it. Some have critiqued the design for not being true NFT, saying that water remains in the system; and also because the channels are not square. So there are surely design improvements that can be made.

The wood is black walnut that I coated in teak oil; and are slid onto brackets I made so that (in case of leakage) I can pull them right off without unscrewing anything.

I just use this simple neck LED lights. My violets and orchids are thrilled and blooming.

LED grow light

This one. I measured it as 37.7 W at the wall. Super-cheap, was only $40 CAD delivered; it's less now. I like it as it gives off very little heat, and it's low profile doesn't take up any vertical space in my bucket.

Here is my setup.

Im using this one for a 4×4: Phlizon Cree Cob Series 2000W LED Plant Grow Light Full Spectrum -2000W (Actual Power 450watt) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZ1QHKC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4fwkDbT1AVCK5

The 1st 20 days from planting i just used the veg bloom switch because i didnt want the cobs to burn the young seedlings...

But damn did they grow fast after flipping on them cobs....

Averaging and inch per day growth wize.

Light is 26.5 inches from the canopy.

This one has been under this Phlizon2000 light and has absolutely loved it. I’m very surprised at how well this light works for how cheap it is!

u/Bewarethekaiju · 3 pointsr/proplifting

This is the one I’ve had the longest and works pretty well as a supplement, I just bought two similar ones that are square that seem to be doing okay so far but they’ve only been up for a week. I also have these for my early stage prop area but they have to be super close to the plant to work. I pretty much ignore my props until they’re big enough to move to their own pots or arrangements, so having a timer helps! My neighbors definitely think I’m growing marijuana but it’s okay.

Sorry for the mobile links couldn’t figure out how to change them.

Edit: And here is my current setup with lights on, I’m planning on lights for the bottom shelves as well and some hanging hooks for my non succulent plants!

Thanks, and yes. I suggest you make sure you get them from a source that has been started in salt water. Most of what's sold on ebay and online retailers has been grown in fresh water even if they say it hasnt. If you want PM me in a month or two when the props start dropping and I will send you some for just the cost of shipping. Obviously if youre near the beach collect some.

I dont like to get behind this product but they seem to grow well in miracle mud. Is there enough room to grow down there? You would be surprised how fast they grow under the right conditions. The root structure in my tree busted right through PVC. They like heavy light but you have to ramp them up. I suggest one of the grow pendants on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/KINGBO-Reflector-Spectrum-Seeding-Flowering/dp/B01LYBGVRG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497408726&sr=8-2&keywords=grow+led+panel

This one has grown them well in my experience. As they grow use anodized aluminum wire to make them grow in the direction you want (think bonsai). Think of their environment, they love light but they also get a lot of rain. I would hit them with a little water from a spray bottle once a week. I like to put a tiny amount of MG and iron in my bottle. There's methods of developing the cool root structure as well but this will at least get you started. You will be surprised how much they are capable of pulling out of your system once they get started.

And cheap Christmas lights from target

u/Thunderous_Pupil · 3 pointsr/microgrowery

I just bought this light and it is the best light I have owned but it's more expensive and not what I started out with.

For someone starting out I would get something like this which is 300 true watts or this which is around 260 true watts. Both are going to make your closet hotter so you may have to get an intake/exhaust fan but they will give you 10x better yield. I have grown with both of them.

I also have a few of these which will still be way better than what you have currently however these blurple lights get a lot of flack from people and weren't my personal favorite. But for $59 right now on Amazon that's a pretty good deal for 165 true watts.

Here's my first grow doing what you are doing

Here's my second grow using the lights I suggested

Edit: If you think you are going to get into growing and take it serious in the future get the light I linked first. It was around $150 after shipping and it takes some diy to put together but it will run way cooler than the other lights and is 15x better than any of the Amazon lights for $50-$100 more. If I could go back and do it again I would get rid of all the Amazon lights and spend the money on some nice quantum boards.

u/Lifesophist · 3 pointsr/gardening

First I would replace all the fixtures before the house burns down. You can replace with LEDs that take less power. You don't have to do it all at once. Get a couple to start. I would also move that outlet, water and electricity do not mix. Get a GFCI breaker installed for it too before doing anything. This may not even be up to code and if the house burns down, your insurance company will laugh at you when they see it as they won't have to pay you.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4C6R6L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The rocks is easy, humidity. Plants love humidity and if you put water in the rocks and put trays on the rocks, you have lots of humidity. I would test this with a little water first as it may no longer be waterproof. You may have to put plastic under the rocks to patch it. Industrial garbage bags would work 55 gallon. You don't have to put tons of water in, just enough each day to keep moist.

If you've never started seeds, it isn't the fairytale of planting them and voila blooming plants just appear. You need bottom heat, you can buy pads for that. It would be best to start them elsewhere with the pads as, again, electricity and water don't mix. Once you have seedlings, you can put some water on the rocks and turn on the lights for 16 hours a day. I use 5-1-1 fish emulsion for fertilizing them. I would go on You Tube, if I were you, to see how to start seeds, videos are worth a million words.

ONE more thing, get the electrical in your house inspected. From what I see so far, I am not confident in other projects that may be throughout the house.

Welcome to growing your own! you will have fun and it sounds like you have done research!- I'm checking in from Colorado and grow indoors and out.

Lights - First thing to consider is you have one tent to veg and flower. (so once you flip to flower you can't have any plants on deck vegging along, unless they were under different light, in a different location). For this set up, I would highly recommend a LED that you can flip from veg to flower light spectrum. That way with your quick 9 week cycle plants you can just flip a switch and not have to swap out any lights. I just purchased this [LED from amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JUI6ARK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00) and it would fit in your tent. Also LEDs run low heat in the tent space, and low energy consumption.

Strains - For big yield take many tops from the plant. Tie down or use a scrog to weave the plant and allow new growth from the middle. Follow a nutes schedule with out over doing it. You can always order seeds to be mailed (there are some strains in Europe i can't get here :( i've tried ) IF you get an auto flower strain you can NOT take tops on it because its on an automatic schedule of when to flower (not my recommendation) 2-3 plants max in that space, or one big one that would still yield a lot!

Air Flow - Will smell be an issue in your place? then YES get a carbon filter and fan. a 4" size would work for that tent and can get on amazon. If you don't care about the smell (only bad for about 3 weeks in flower) then your PC fan idea would work. If you go with 2 fans (no carbon filter set up) then mount the top as exit air out and the bottom as intake air blowing on the plants.

Dirt should be organic, mix with perlite or something to lighten up the dirt so roots can spread. Smart pots are great if available to you. Also watch for bugs all the way through your grow. be careful of pets near by, and playing with your plants after coming in from outdoors. Bug problems are very easily treated if caught early but if missed until too late can really limit your yield or have total loss.

Happy growing and post updates!!

I grew some Somango XXL last year with LEDs. Used this for veg and this along with the first one for flower. All Fox Farm soil and nutrients and only distilled water. I topped it a little late (at 8 nodes), but that thing was huge by the time it was ready to harvest. I was scared it was gonna outgrow my tent (3x3x6), but some trellis netting fixed that. It came out great, but the buds weren't as tight as I had hoped...probably because I didn't keep the lights close enough during flowering and neither of these LEDs have a solid red spectrum. Either way, I got almost 7 zips, and that's pretty nice for a first effort. Made my $ back plus more and still had plenty for myself. All that stuff about the old LEDs kinda scared me, but they've definitely come a long way. There's a smaller version of the one I linked in my first post, so that might be my next investment. The heat and electricity usage of MH and HPS kinda scares me. The setup I used only made my electric bill go up by about $30 a month on average, and of course the more expensive months were during flowering when I had a bunch of fans going including the HVAC exhaust that was connected to a carbon can inside the tent. You could put your face up to the exhaust hose and there was no smell at all, so that was good. How's your electric bill with that HPS? I'm trying to weigh the long term cost of HPS vs. that expensive LED.

u/cheese_on_rye · 2 pointsr/houseplants

I use one of these grow lights on my avocado.

To encourage "bushiness"- pinch off one of the new buds at the top of the stalk. Your plant will push more energy towards other buds. I do not recommend cutting close to the pit now, as your plant likely does not have any active buds along its trunk.

A few years ago (somewhat recently) it was discovered that plants mostly only use the red and blue wavelengths of light.

So, when you use white lights on a plant, you have to use really bright, high-powered lights because the plant is only using these two narrow bands of the whole visible spectrum that the light is putting out.

Instead, by using a combination of red and blue LEDs, you deliver only the colors of light that the plant is going to use, and you can use less power.

I'm a big fan of this style: https://www.amazon.com/100W-LED-Grow-Light-Bulb/dp/B07H9W1TSZ/ref=sr_1_35?keywords=plant+light&qid=1566596546&s=lawn-garden&sr=1-35

  • Ecoark 45 Gallon Wheeled Trash Can - 20$ Walmart

  • Coghlan's Emergency Blanket - 5$ Walmart

    3M 77 spray adhesive- 10$ Walmart

    120 mm fan filter - 10$ Amazon

    Dual 80 mm fans - 14$ Amazon

    120 mm fan - 17$ Amazon

KINGBO 45W LED Plant Grow Light - 30$ Amazon

Cut a hole for the 120 mm fan dead center in the front like in the video. Insert and then attach filter. This is the fan that pulls fresh air

Cut two holes in the lid for the 80mm fans. I did mine in the back by the handle, these are the exhaust fans.

before inserting and attaching fans spray the inside with the adhesive and attach the blanket

Drill a tiny hole in the center of the top so you can fish the light hanging cables through which will allow you to raise and lower light as needed.

Then I hot glued a power strip to the back for all the power needs

Hi there!

So I would really like to get into the art of Bonsai. I've been looking at getting a Ficus. The only problem is that it would have to permanently (at least for the foreseeable future) live indoors, as I live in a townhouse complex, without access to a balcony/private yard/fenced in area. I completely understand bonsai don't do well indoors, but with the proper lighting is it doable? I have been looking at lighting from local hydroponic shops and am having trouble picking a light. Would a basic 100 Watt-Equivalent CFL work? Or should I get something a bit fancier like one of these?

250 Watt, 6500K CFL with Reflector

2 Foot, 2 Tube, T5 Fluorescent

60 x 10 Watt LED Grow Light (600 Watt Equivalent)

60 x 10 Watt LED Grow Light (900 Watt Equivalent)

[CFL 13 Watt = 65 Watt Equivalent, 6500K] (https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.cfl-13w--60w-mini-twister-daylight-6500k---case-of-12-bulbs.1000681198.html)

CFL 23 Watt = 100 Watt 2700K

CFL 23 Watt = 100 Watt 6500K

If I were to get Fluorescents I would need a stand of some sort. Would something like this work? Should I change the bulbs to something more powerful?

24 Watt, 6400K, 2 Feet T5

Any of the lights purchased would be kept on an automatic timer indoors. Should the length of the timer be affected by the power of the bulb? Less powerful = More time per day?

u/treefarmercharlie · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

I'd personally either hold onto the old light for another use in the future...like if you want a separate veg tent. You only need about 280W of actual draw for a COB LED, but I've never had a rectangular tent, so I'm not sure if a single light that draws 300W would be good for that, or if you've be better off getting two that each draw 150W. I have two of THESE in my 4x4 and I've been happy with them. They draw 300W each and my plants do great with them. They aren't as nice as quantum boards but they are a fraction of the price and will hold me over until I want to spend the extra cash on QBs.

Edited to add: If you want to see how my plants are doing under them right now then take a look at my Grow Diary. If you click on each week, you can see progress pictures.

I have one of THESE that has a setup for a 6 tier SCROG system above it. I have 6 of THESE for grow lights. I have a small Ozone Generator to keep the water free of nasties. I ordered some of THIS to build a reflective box around it. For the inside of the "enclosure" I have a pair of Ionic Breeze Quadra electrostatic air cleaners I got from ebay to kill the smell as well, each one is good to like 400 square feet, so having 2 of them in a 4x4 square foot enclosed tent should keep most of the smell gone...I suspect I'll just have to clean them every could days rather than every few weeks.

Okay. You need some Rockwool cubes for your seeds. Start your seeds in those. Put them in a sealed container so it stays humid, make sure the temperature is at least 20 degrees Celsius. Preferably around 25 degrees. You should see seedlings start to pop up in a couple days with the right conditions. I'd wait until the first set of leaves appear before transplanting ( not the seedling leaves)

Hydroponics is extremely simple and has awesome results. I'm currently about to do the Kratky mason jar method.

NUTRIENTS - Seedlings do not need a pack load of nutrients. They can survive off of just water for a couple sets of leaves before dying from lack of nutrients.

I'm looking into something like this for indoor light.

u/KrombopulosPhillip · 2 pointsr/Autoflowers

actually just the most basic 45W LED panel because this was an extremely inexpensive grow and half of it was planned to be outdoors but i planted to early and the weather was just shit until recently, my 2 new seedlings will have a way better start because once they are big enough to go outside they will thrive with sunlight and actually grow to their maximum height , considering i spent less than $200 altogether i'd say i should make a decent harvest hoping for 2 oz a plant out of the maximum yield of 3.5oz

u/pistilwhipt · 2 pointsr/houseplants

I recently picked up a few of these and absolutely love them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LG39B3M

Not hawking them, but not having to live with a purple glow all the time has been awesome, and my plants love it at least as much as the red/blues. I know a lot of people use them, but this little greenhouse / LED combo has been amazing as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FZTKYXV

u/pinkfluffs · 2 pointsr/CrestedGecko

This is the one I specifically use ( amazon ).

It does give off a pink tint because they're plant lights but my plants LOVE them. And I have it about three feet from the cage because I have it for other plants that I keep next to my setup. So I guess it's not directly on the gecko. Plus the fact that it's pink makes it less harsh on the eyes.

I also have this one and it also works great. Much smaller and gives off a white light so guests don't think it looks funny compared to the pink.

It's all up to you. They both have pros and cons and both work well.

Someone on here had it and said it was good. So far so good. I’ve had it three days and I already see a little pink on my Kiwi!

u/FrenchieLee · 2 pointsr/HotPeppers

I keep them right by the window but supplement that with these cheap LED lights I got on Amazon - they’re about 3-4” from the seedlings and I leave them on about 16 hours a day. The soil is just Jiffy seed starting mix. I just fertilized for the first time today (I meant to do it a while ago but never got around to it)! So the lighting is probably the only thing that’s caused them to grow at this rate. I also brush my hands over the tops of the plants everyday which helps them form a stronger/thicker stem.

u/13Deth13 · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

Budget isn't really an issue. Haven't decided yet I'm legally allowed 50 plants but have only been growing 4-6 at a time. I do like bang for the buck though. So far through my scouring this one seems to do it
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0721M53QC/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_2?smid=AVUYM0ARNYWYA&psc=1

Says 240 to 280w actual draw and it's pretty cheap.

Or was gonna get a couple of these.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07843C284/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_4?smid=A2PQGFJXAT8J9K&psc=1

Made by vivosun and everything I've bought from them before has always been top notch. (136w actual draw)

Edit: also configuration: I have two rooms set aside in my basement they're both maybe 12x12 or 14x14. Using two rooms as it was easier to light proof the doors than buy tents. Just tore out the green golf style carpet that's been there since the 70s

u/gooeyduxk · 2 pointsr/Bonsai

I have the same issue. I use my south facing window plus lights and i could use more! I went onto amazon and bought a couple LED grow lights. They use about a 1/3 the juice. They do not create much heat. I have both a ficus and elephant bush (baby jade) and they love the lights.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075V3JJQH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

i bought this one plus a couple bigger ones. biggest one is only 60watt but its the equivalent to a 100watt mh of hps. One is full spectrum, 1 is bloom, one is grow. for bonsai i would go with full spectrum.

u/kif22 · 2 pointsr/Bonsai

Depends on how big of an investment you want to make. A lot of people like HLG brand and in particular the v2, although all of their stuff is good. If you want to go cheaper, you can probably find some cheaper t5 bulbs if you already have some fixtures overhead. If you are looking for something clip on, I'm currently using a couple of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07JCLX39G?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

They seem to be doing the trick, have lots of new growth on my tropicals since bringing them under the lights. But coverage is kinda small.

u/boobadoo · 2 pointsr/HotPeppers

I'm pretty new to this, these are ~2 week old cayenne sprouts. I had this 300W light mounted about 12" above them, and I noticed that their cotyledons were straining upwards so I thought they might need more light. I moved the light down to about 9" above the plants, but over the last few days they've begun to turn a deep purple color. Is this due to having the light too close, or potentially a different problem? For the record I have a few other pepper sprouts at the same distance which don't seem to be having this problem.

Thanks for your help!

u/loranlalanne · 2 pointsr/druggardening

No worries, I didn't know about the combinations of red and blue light so thank you!! I think I'll end up buying some of these cheapos. Should definitely be something on the side bar for grow lights. Was about to subscribe to /r/indoorgarden for tips but I don't see much interest in grow lights over there. Anyways, hope you order some seeds and post your progress! ;)

I recently purchased this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07LBQYDCW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I picked it because I wanted a natural light and I wanted something simple to augment my window grow box. It’s worked pretty well so far. I measured it at 14W at the wall.

Some information on my Ginseng Ficus.

Height: 18 in. (including pot) and Width: 9-10 in.

For the upcoming 9 months, I'll be living inside of an apartment and looking to start growing my Bonsai in that environment. The main concern I have is lighting, I have no southern-facing window with the only window I have being eastern-facing. This window isn't even the biggest and I'm concerned about the health of my tree if it had to live in these conditions. However, the option for a glow lamp should hopefully solve this issue. The issue in that being I have zero clues what glow lamp is optimal for my scenario nor what exact specifications I need to look for in a glow lamp. I've down small amounts of research and found you need roughly 300 nm-800 nm spectrum but am unsure if that's actually true. If anyone could provide some guidance or insight on what I should be looking for that'd be greatly appreciated.

I've attached three glow lamps I show through amazon that seemed like viable options(my price range is $50). Also, I've included an image of my bonsai tree to hopefully give you a better understanding of what I'm dealing with.

Lamp 3

Thanks for reading! If you have any recommendations or lamps that have worked for you in the past I'd appreciate it if you commented those below. I'm looking for lamps that can be attached to a desk as that's where my tree will be.

I actually just started growing in a 24"x24"x55". One thing I noticed was controlling the temp. My 600w made way too much heat for that space, so now I'm currently running a 300w. There are two 2-gallon felt pots in there but the space will be limited once I start getting into flowering.

u/dankweedgonewild · 1 pointr/SpaceBuckets

Skip out on that light, your plants are going to end up super larfy. I would recommend the new discount quantum boards from Mars Hydro (TS 600W), they're 100 W and probably put out about 5-6x as much PAR as that light. At close to $100, they're a steal

https://www.amazon.com/MARS-HYDRO-Spectrum-Hydroponic-Greenhouse/dp/B07VL8FZS1/

I would guess your yields with that light would end up as maybe 10-20 g, whereas with a decent QB-style light you'll get close to a 3-5 oz.

This is what I found on amazon when I searched for that. It says it’s a 200 watt light and that is equivalent to a 400 watt light. It also has the drivers you mentioned. It’s approx $300 but will it give me the same light coverage/intensity ? https://www.amazon.com/Grow-Spectrum-CF-Intensity-Greenhouse/dp/B06XKW7M92/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1550850990&sr=83&keywords=cree%2Bcxb3590%2BCOB&th=1. I also worry about buying unfamiliar tech from a discount site.

u/Angy_Fox13 · 1 pointr/GrowingMarijuana

There are lots, the one I bought is here. It costs $200 more than a Viparpectra 600w reflector. For a 4x4 tent ideally I'd want 2 of them.

There are lots I'd like to buy, not easy to get in Canada, IMO, and I'm scared of import fees/tariffs or I would have bought from one of the american sites like rapid LED online. https://www.rapidled.com

There's also https://www.horticulturelightinggroup.ca/ but every time I've wanted to buy one they've been out of stock in the sizes I would want. AND I don't want to build my own light I don't get why they always only have kits in stock.

The peppers I've got under a cheap-o UFO fruiting light from Amazon, similar to this: www.amazon.com/KINGBO-LED-Spectrum-Seeding-flowering/dp/B075V3JJQH

It's junky, but I bought a couple when starting because they were cheap. I also have some white lights in there with it to make sure it gets enough light.

The tomato I have under a larger 300W grow light:
www.ebay.com/itm/142683708997
I really like this one, it seems to work well and is much brighter than the other ones.

Beyond that, many of my plants are in windows so they can get more light.

u/DirtyBongTokes · 1 pointr/microgrowery

get a bigger tent I wouldn't mess with anything under 120cmx120cmx200cm for 4 plants but for 1 plant 60x60 should work fine. You'd be surprised how big they will grow given enough space even under a shitty light like the one you're planning to use. When you switch to flower they will almost double in height, keep that in mind. I would however suggest a better light that one, it is not pulling 450 watts from the wall probably more like 100 using old epiled tech. expect 10-30 grams with ideal growing conditions/technique & genetics. It might do okay for veg for several small plant for the first few weeks when establishing root system but vegetation and flower is another monster altogether and unless you really don't smoke much it won't be worth the investment or time growing with such a small setup.

What are your goals for your grow? on my first grow running 200 true watts of cheap LED's https://www.amazon.ca/Roleadro-Spectrum-Function-Generation-Flowering/dp/B01I4NY8KW/ref=lp_13525458011_1_3?srs=13525458011&ie=UTF8&qid=1542027678&sr=8-3and later got a proper 65watt cree cob kit https://www.amazon.ca/Intensity-Spectrum-Grow-Stronger-Especially/dp/B06XKW7M92/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1542027726&sr=8-5&keywords=cf+grow

off 2 small plants running in a 90cmx90cm during veg until they got too tall and switched to a 120cmx60cm closet after 92 days (42veg, 50flower) I got a total of 46gram once dry/cured. I also turned down a lot of leaf and small popcorn bud which I made into about 5-6 grams of 70micron grade hash. I might be bias but it was really good stuff grown with bagseed far better than the outdoor bud I got the seed from but I also did a lot of research for 6 months prior to attempting my first grow and spent 100$ on synthetic nutrients and found a good feed schedule employed Low stress and high stress training, supercropping lollypopping defolitation on week 4 of veg and week 3 of flower. If I could do it over I'd run 6 weeks veg and let flower go a little longer to fully ripen and also have a proper tent with a scrog instead of growing in closets.

I've prob spent close to $1000 on my garden now but I will have a perpetual grow and multiple units I can move between separate areas as I see fit. My goal for growing is to get to the point where with 4 plants I don't need to measure grams and just know I got enough to last me until next harvest. I will probably end up running plants a month apart and/or moving them into flower room when they get big enough. I also wouldn't mind running a SOG to find some phenos for next year outdoor, which will be my first year outdoor and ill prob experiment with organics then for now its coco coire and synthetic nutes.

ASSUMING the reviews are legit, some of the reviews say its identical to the Optic COB lights. Although with that being said, SUPPOSEDLY the QB lights are still the best. However, unless you have a huge budget, you'll have to rely on buying them from Alibaba/China. What scares me about that is slow shipping, and no fast support/returns/replacement compared to if you buy an item that is Fullfilled by Amazon. Out of everything that I've shopped around for when creating my build, the most difficult decision is the lighting because everyone has their own opinions, and the lighting that is supposedly the best of the best is insanely expensive.

From what I see so far, I am not confident in other projects that may be throughout the house.', im DAD.

I like these the best. There are 3 heads, and you can adjust the brightness. It also has a simple timer (for 4, 8 or 12 hours). My Triostar unfurls 2-3 new leafs every week since I purchased the lights.

I also have these lights. Since I transferred my other plants from the sill to the bookshelf, they do not have any sunlight at all now (the bookshelf is in a dark corner of the room), so I decided to have the imitation of sun for them. I've never have a full-spectrum grow light before, but so far my plants like it.

I also have two of this light. It is probably a previous generation already, since I bought it more a year ago. It doesn't have such bright light, so now I use it for propagation and to supplement the natural light my plants get, sitting 2 feet away from the window.

However now it appears to be suffering from a potassium deficiency and slow growth. I am using PH perfect nutrients 3 part in coir and perlite. Not sure how to treat any deficiencies with these nutrients as they are all supposed to be used together at once. Once it grows another set of leaves I plan on putting it under a 1000W HPS. Perhaps also important is that I am doing 24hr lighting as I have just discovered my light timer is broken (will buy one tomorrow to commence 18/6). These are 6-week progress shots. I used this cactus fertilizer and installed this indoor light, since I'm in a new apartment with very little natural light and I was tired of killing plants over the winter.

It is clear that most are growing - but they don't seem to be growing... healthily? They seem etiolated, and I'm wondering how that could be. The light is on 100% for 8hrs/day. Previously they were in indirect low light with about 4 hours of direct afternoon sun.

How should I adjust their care? I want them to be full and lush, which is why I bought the light - to avoid them getting lanky and pale this winter.

u/whitewidowbaddragon · 1 pointr/microgrowery

It'll still work OP. My last grow consisted of two LED lights. One pulling 100W and the other a bit more like this one in terms of wattage. 2 autos and 6.7 ounces of bud from 'crap' lights. Given I was mad with power and knowledge I figured I would 'up' my light game by getting a second one! Someone hold me back! Still no clue how I got 17 grams off 4 plants! From there I still went on to to make more poor lighting choices.

Winter just hit and I brought it indoors. I got a light off of Amazon hoping to help it during these cold, dark indoor times.

The two other than the spider plant are Swedish Ivy and Old Fashioned Swedish Ivy (I think). They are much lighter in color compared to photos online so I am pretty worried they aren't doing well. I have nothing but good things to say about these lights. They're incredibly lightweight. I did zip ties on the wire shelves and the included contact strips for the walls. You can rig multiple lights together, or do individual lights. The price was pretty much perfect. I ordered two boxes (12 lights total) and still have two lights left (looking for the right spot).

I'm thinking of trying it with some succulents and some others that wouldnt kill me if they got a little burnt. See my grow light experiences tend toward fresh water plants and algae (because lets face it, have tank will algae lol). I've never had to use a grow light.

I completely understand the moisture issue! I usually stick with more forgiving plants like peppers and most tomato plants. Also I put a sun shade over mine to block a good majority of the direct sun. You should also consider starting your plants mid to late winter. I try to start new plants at either the beginning of our "winters" here so that it has time to establish itself before the inhospitable season hits.

These cups have holes in the bottom, I had a really low effort hydro set up as I dont smoke often and kind of threw this together for fun. Ive since moved them to the windows, my house doesnt get a lot of sun unfortunately. One I moved to another side of the house seems to be doing better. I used to miracle grow liquid plant food out of a pump bottle a few times. The roots never got anywhere long enough to get in the water, really a first time grower, didn't do enough research I guess.

Here's a light that will really deliver the most bang for your buck. It will cover a 4'x4'4 area at a hanging height of 18".
