I just did exactly that. Thanks for the idea 👊

Went and got this dump truck on amazon for 24$. It was 64% off which is nice.

The body of this thing is polyethylene so it doesn’t like most modeling glues.

That one worked pretty well after some experimentation. Green stuff as a bond or works pretty well too.

Most of the rest of the parts are from a Baneblade Upgrade kit.

STL is from u/WaltRitt and uploaded at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3891771

I use Hycote Filler Primer but am open to suggestions for better alternatives.

Plasto is made by Revell and I believe is an alternative to Bondo, which we can't seem to get here in the UK.

Epoxy is Gorilla Epoxy

The wood was an old Scrabble tile I found which happened to have the same thickness so I just cut to size with a sharp craft knife.

Link on Amazon? I want a chanting F-16!

Edit: "currently unavailable" in case there's another dipshit like me out there going to actually buy one.

  1. Sucks when you see people enter Walgreens and leave with like $500 in stuff. Sometimes you walk in to 2-3 Walgreens, and you leave with nothing. Stuff like that gets me riled up, but I've learned to just deal with it and move on cause I'll probably find something in the next store.
  2. I set KEEPA notifications on Amazon. That tells me when a price drops. Check it out at keepa.com
  3. I qualified for beauty and health and beauty so far. They required invoices, but I asked to use receipts. The person that helped me said that was fine. I'd ask to use receipts, don't just assume you're allowed to send them in.
  4. YOU KNOW, lately, I've gotten really, really good at sourcing, so I know exactly WHAT to buy when I go out. Some stuff I'm buying lately isn't even clearance or sale items. They're just discontinued or highly priced items. My business model is to go deep on an item.
  5. I use a separate room. I don't have any products for FBA right now that i'm sending out, but hope to spend at least 5k this weekend. As far as MF, I like to MF stuff that is small. So all of the MF stuff is actually in my closet. (Toothpaste, health and beauty products, etc.)
  6. Watch commercials, check the "Movers and Shakers" area, ask kids, find out what kids are playing with. Toys is easy and profitable. But I make more money moving aaway from TOys now.
  7. EVERYONE should have camelcamelcamel, the tracktor, keepa, amazon's movers and shakers bookmarked.

EDIT: KEEPA NOTIFICATIONS are so important. THey have helped me. Let me give you an example. THis product: http://www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Paw-Patrol-Ryders-Vehicle/dp/B00ITOAYOQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1411664892&sr=8-2&keywords=paw+patrol

I made a lot of money off of. I first saw it in the Amazon "movers and shakers" page. HEre is the link to the price changes: http://i.imgur.com/8uR7lY6.png. It was being sold for $12 at Walmart! I went to 30 Walmarts in a weekend and picked them ALL up! There must have been about 7 products that were profitable for the PAW PATROL series. I managed to spend about 3k in 2 days and sold EVERYTHING in a week because the ranking was so good. You see how KEEPA is telling you that when AZ is in stock it's only $12.49? Well when it's OUT OF STOCK it was going for $25-30. Now imagine 7 items within the PAW PATROL series that are inflated that high? THAT ONE IS STILL GOING FOR DOUBLE THE MONEY, but they are almost impossible to find in stores now.

Holy shit, these paw patrol stoys are still inflated about after a month I sold them: http://www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Paw-Patrol-Rockys-Recycling/dp/B00ITOAYV4/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1411665164&sr=8-11&keywords=paw+patrol

    http://www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Paw-Patrol-Zumas-Hovercraft/dp/B00ITOAYRI/ref=pd_sim_t_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D3D2G4P95T1GHJKSF58

    http://www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Paw-Patrol-Action-Badge/dp/B00ITOAUNQ/ref=pd_sim_t_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=03ZEZ9RN4GX8HSTCAHXP

JUST SET YOUR KEEPA ALERTS AND SNAB THEM WHENEVER AMAZON GETS THEM IN STOCK!

EDIT: Getting so many haters messaging me why I'm putting this public. I can do whatever I want. People have been profiting from these things for like 2 MONTHS now. They're still profitable. Deals are everywhere, my friends. This is just one deal of thousands that are out there.

Sherman tanks would do ok for Russes.

Someone recently converted one of these into a Forgeworld Gorgon/ Crassus transport (can’t find the post)

If you're looking for organization, try a pegboard with pegs. You could also try a display case. I got mine off of Amazon for about $38 plus $14 shipping. The quality isn't amazing, but it looks nice. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links, but here is the display case I have.

Also consider a marble run with pieces she can put together herself. She may be a little young, but take a look at Snap Circuits too.

My son was (still is) certifiably obsessed with cars, like the makes and models you see driving down the road. He wasn't as into these two engines as I expected but they were still cute high quality toys:

Theo Klein Service Car Station

Build Your Own Engine Kit

Not engines, but we also got a lot of miles out those take apart type toys that come with their own drills as well as Auotomoblox.

These books are for much older kids, but they're awesome:

How Cars Work: The Interactive Guide

Car Science

FWIW, he won't be able to break a proper Tonka truck. But he will be able to use it to break a lot of other things, lol.

You made that whole chain, then? Very impressive.

I got some craft chain from a craft store, and ran a thin wire through the chain. Using the same bike, though I might upgrade at some point to this one: amazon link

Just saw cars like these in Target, micro racers. Proportions did seem off in person. Not saying there isn't weirdness with the video.

Any modellers putty / filler would be ok, thin enough to mask the lines, similar to this

It’s used to get rid of seams on airfix kits etc

This was my absolute favorite. I carried it with me everywhere when I was little.

I also loved G.I. Joes as a kid. My favorites were the Battlewagon and the Badger

Of course the Super Soaker 50 was a staple for every kid at the time. But I also had a pair of Super Soaker 25s which made me one B.A.M.... cool kid.

And of course Legos. I loved Legos. My favorite sets were Blacktron. There were other similar space sets that followed, but Blacktron just oozed cool for a kid.

Edit: I forgot to add the Avalanche to the GI Joe list...which is crazy because every time the Avalanche entered the battlefield, it was assured COBRA was going to lose.

u/cmdshftn · 1 pointr/GenX

That sucks. I was looking forward to getting my son a Tonka dump truck like I had. Sad to hear.

Edit: Dude, it's all good, they still make the steel: https://www.amazon.com/Tonka-Classic-Steel-Mighty-Vehicle/dp/B000PEHDFG

u/OMGROTFLMAO · 1 pointr/NoMansSkyTheGame

You must have been at the tail end of the Tonkas. They started making them in the 70s or earlier.

You can get remakes now, but they have more plastic than the originals did:

u/USS-SpongeBob · 1 pointr/Wetshaving

Azzaro Wanted

Opening: sweet sweet lemonade with some subtle, creamy, lavender undertones.

Drydown: sweet vanilla tonka bean with spicy-woody hints of cardamom and juniper.

Entirely inoffensive. Decent choice if you're looking for a sweet tonka cologne with a sweet bottle. Doesn't get me excited the way that my favorite fragrances do so I likely wouldn't wear it very often. Probably won't be spending my own money on it.

u/Searyb · 1 pointr/anime

What kind of trucks got covered in the movie? Big fan of tonka trucks so just wondering if I should check it out.

u/HomeBrewThis · 1 pointr/NoMansSkyTheGame

Here is a bunch of small diverse spaceship models I found on Amazon. I've begun painting them as minis, but they remind me a lot of NMS designs.

u/davefalkayn · 1 pointr/transformers

I have a plan. First, I need to get a Ring--er--Rong--er--RUNG. Then I'm going to make a Leader sized couch and a set of shelves. And on the shelves, I'm going to put about two dozen tiny plastic spaceships https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00362RWOG/?coliid=I1VK6P6OFYW55B&colid=1QVK7HAML4W3G&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it and make Ring's Ark collection.
