It's an external fuel tank that you use when you need to have the engine running without the actual fuel tank attached.

Common usage would be for things like synchronizing carburetors.

Edit for product link.

Hey y'all! Some of you asked about mods so here is a full list of what I have done so far with links.

Bar end mirrors - You can find these for less but I chose these because the reviews indicated that they might be better quality than others.

https://www.amazon.com/YAMAHA-RD125-RD125DX-KEYSTER-CARB/dp/B0794DJ9SF That should be the correct kit but check against the year your rd-125 is. You will need 2. Get quality kits rather than the cheap Chinese ones. You will likely crack the casting taking the jets out or have porosity issues allowing fuel into passages that it shouldn't be in.

All Balls is my go-to brand for carb kits. Not the cheapest but they always have the correct pieces and come with replacement screws for the ones you will inevitably strip taking it apart.

Seems like a fuel/air mixture problem. Firstly before you begin the process to reset everything to the way it is, make sure you have no air leaks between the carb and the engine and that the clamps are tight. Also check for cracks on the rubber boot that holds the carb to the intake port. Make sure you have a reasonably clean air filter installed as it will make tuning wonky without it or with a different exhaust.

1:Find your mixture screw, then tighten it all the way in until it wants to stop turning. Make sure to tighten it very gently as the needle can be damaged very easily. Then loosen it 2.5 turns.

2:Start the bike and keep it running for awhile until it warms up. You may need to hold the throttle and/or use the choke to keep it alive, but that's ok for now. When it's all the way warm, turn the choke off.

3:Adjust the big ol' screw on the side of the carb that pokes on the throttle arm until the bike idles nicely. If the engine is warm, the idle should sit nice and smooth now without needing to touch the throttle.

When the bike is cold it should start with the choke and may idle high until its warm and the choke is turned off. This is normal.

If this process did not fix the issue, I would suggest getting a carb rebuild kit and changing all of the jets and needle valves. It's cheap and is very easy to do. The jets or mixture screw may have been damaged from being over tightened or may be full of crud from old gas. While you are changing out everything, give it a good spray with carb cleaner and/or compressed air in all of the tight spots. Wear eye protection while doing so.

I've never done a big bore kit myself, from my limited knowledge its pretty normal to upgrade the carb when doing so though. If you stock carb is like mine was then modifying it is very difficult, they are made to be tamper resistant and lack some adjustment options.

this one might be worth checking out to see if the diameters match.

Actually I suggest this one (depending on the year) it's exactly like my Mishimoto one only 1/10th the price. The reason I suggest it is because there are two inlet ports. The Subaru system has vents for the valve covers and the crank case, Subaru joins the two valve covers together, but unless you add a "T" fitting, you still have two vents, some people use two catch cans, this one allows you to stick with one.

It’s possible that the carburetor is adjusted a little too rich, have you examine your spark plug and know what it looks like if it’s too rich? Do you have a service manual for your machine? You can replace the carb and intake boot for cheap if you think you need too. It’s easier I think than rebuilding them sometimes. www.amazon.com/dp/B01BH27T3A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_5kYpDb4AAQ9SK

For gas last year I built a extended run system using a 14 gallon caddy. Took the hose off, put a brass fitting, fuel line and some fuel clamps. The you just need a fuel cap like this one which I like because it’s Made in the USA and includes a great magnetic dip stick and funnel. Lastly here is the quick disconnect fitting for the cap.

Fill it up and run all weekend long.

in rebuilding the carb.. or repairing the carb.. you need to check carefully the Needle and seat seals when the carb is held upside down and you blow into the fuel fitting.

A slip on carb air filter is all I can think of. You just need to measure the intake of the carb. www.amazon.com/TC-Motor-Carburetor-Filter-Chinese-Motorcycle/dp/B01FTOHUB8
