Not for eggs.

This is designed for use in the chill drawer. It's somehow intended to place meats on for defrosting, marinading, or otherwise preparing to be cooked in a day or two.

In the absence of a printed user guide or quick start guide, it would be helpful to find your appliance's model number.

I have a Johnson Control A419 I've been using for similar purposes for about three years now and it's worked great!

I have heard horror stories of similar control units failing and causing either a continuously open or closed circuit. If you have a working thermostat in the freezer, it might help to set it to its highest temperature, which should still be well below the new control unit's setpoint but hopefully above freezing to prevent catastrophic freezing if the unit breaks in the open state.

If it breaks closed, the temperature in a unit like this can rise very high -- I had a similar thing happen when I had a compressor failure -- due to the circulation fans running continuously. If it's cold in the the garage where it is, this would likely be fine, but in the summer it could be a big issue. I have one of these to monitor the temperature and push notifications if the temperature or humidity leave the bounds I've set. So far it's worked great and the app is very easy to use, except that I needed a WiFi range extender to ensure coverage while it's inside the fridge.

Also, super sick fridge!

EDIT: IF this is a used unit and you haven't already, REPLACE THE CLIPS THAT HOLD UP THE SHELVING! They can fail, which is catastrophic, and they're like two dollar a piece. Installed correctly, they should last for years but there's no reason not to replace them if you don't know their usage history.

> Hansa AM200

When I search i get this .https://www.amazon.com/Frigidaire-241510203-Refrigerator-Door-Gasket/dp/B00M25LZYG

These gaskets fit more than one model and the fridges are made by more than one company. Hansa may be discontinued but Frigidaire isn't. It might not fit too. It's hard to tell unless it shows the door it's supposed to fit on. You may be able to get free shipping/returns so you can send it back if it doesn't fit.

FYI save the bypass filter that comes with the fridge if you want filtered water. The stock filters are like $60 and the water pressure actually declines when it’s time to replace it so you either buy a new one, deal with water taking forever to fill, or put the bypass in. They require replacing far too often.

Or there’s another option. You carefully take off the rfid sensor from the bypass filter and attach it in the same spot on a third party filter like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GAB3DT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kSZADbE0R85QQ. The fridge will tell you the bypass is in, but the filter will work. Then you just need to decide when it’s time to replace it.

It's a tricky set up actually. This is what the shelf looks like (and the price is more like this one since I'm in Canada). So whatever I use must attach to uneven heights on each sides (and a slanted shelf is probably subpar :p ).

With a bit of dremel'ing and arc welding, I was able to kludge something for it, so no, no can do, but thanks for the suggestion.

Yes that's the part I suspected in the first place. Since everything else was functional, it was the only piece that could logically cause the damper to close early. I couldn't find any testing methods for the Whirlpool/Kenmore thermistor unfortunately, all the testing guides were for GE ones. Any tips? Or should I drop $30 on a new one and hope for the best?

Also would you recommend against buying from Amazon? http://www.amazon.com/Whirlpool-2188819-Thermistor/dp/B0156N93FI

You shouldn't use those reed switches on the mains as, besides the low current capabilities, they are rated for 100V maximum...

Since you are into DIY, why not some mechanical switches? a good start might be the ones used in refrigerator doors.

you could go for the evga 980 ti buy a waterblock like this and this backplate brush/paint both of them white.

It looks like the same part I replaced in my Kenmore. Really easy to switch out an all the leaking stopped.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Sounds hard what you’re suggesting, I’m not sure if I want to try. FYI, the ice tray was changed just last year. It was making ice just fine.

If the refrigerator hasn’t died a Garage Refrigerator Kit might help.
