Yes.

Let me save you a big headache.

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-DS4-To-XInput-Wrapper

The DS4 needs a very very specific type of BT adapter.

Originally I read through the requirements on that thread I linked really fast thinking "bah, how hard can it be?"

I only saw this "Minimum of Bluetooth 2.1"

Allright I figured, 2.1 no problem. So I bought this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H8O8CMO/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

"Class 2 Bluetooth version 4.0, backward compatible with Bluetooth version 1.0, 2.0, and 2.1"

Well it says right there, compatible with 2.1, should work right? Wrong. Connected for a second then wouldn't connect, would try to pair for 4 or 5 min then drop the connection or the controller would power off failing to find the dongle. Headache central.

I then tried my hand at this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041UJVI2/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Notice this dongle reads: "Latest Bluetooth v2.1 specification with EDR function enables data transfer up to 3Mbps."

Your dongle NEEDS to have EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), think of all the data the DS4 transfers. Audio, controller input, rumble, a regular ol BT dongle wont cut it.

TL;DR: I couldnt get my DS4 working for shit until I got the correct type of dongle.

Alright, here's my take:

FPS, Third-Person Shooters, Racing, Action-Adventure -> Xbox 360 Controller. [For wireless controllers you use this.]

Fighting, Platforming, Beat-em-ups, RPGs -> Playstation 3 controller with motioninjoy drivers. If you want wireless you can grab a Bluetooth Dongle That's the one I use.

I have both controllers, and change them out depending on what game I'm playing. For example, I prefer the 360 controller when I'm playing Darksiders but use the PS3 controller for Devil May Cry.

"1) Information on facilities. We have lots of camping apps already, but none of them will tell you how many sites are open tonight. Instead, you have to stop by the side of the road and call each one individually." Thats a limitation of thee software campground reservation system use not you phone or your camper.

"2) Vastly higher build quality. RV's tend to be built to a very low standard. Roofs and windows leak. Refrigerators fail. Cabinet doors rattle. Frames rust. Tires explode." Cuatomers get what they are willing to pay for. there are higher end rigs that are well built, customers balk when it comes tme to cut the check.

"3) Knowing battery and tank status is nice, but a voice interface doesn't add value. Accurate, reliable gauges and monitors are. An improvement might be to consolidate the various HID's into something consistent and rational, so that you could monitor battery drain, tanks, solar (etc) from one HID instead of a bunch of disconnected gauges and panels. Several mfg's are trying to do that already." Mostly already out there. I happen to own one device that uses bluetooth to tell me my battry status, my solar charge rate, graphs my usage and my charge rates over a period of time. I can even reprogram my inveter/converter and my solar chaarge controller from my phone. https://www.amazon.com/Victron-Energy-ASS030536010-VE-Direct-Bluetooth/dp/B01CGFF8Q2 I do wish i could remotely shut off my y inverter from my bed with the phone. I cant. Its 6 steps to the cntrol panel for it aand i can progrm to shut off below a certain draw so its not that big of a deal.

"4) Accurate, on-the-fly weather. I'm still scratching my head as to why I can't get a live radar map to display on my trucks dashboard. And yes, I have Android Auto. Camping in the Midwest without knowing which storms are going to bash into you next, and which way to head to miss them is a headache." So many apps already do this. Even my gps system if connected to the net via hotspot on my phne will display radar, weather, and current and predicted winds.

I iike my lithium and not being able to charge below freezin is not a problem I already made a series of mistakes if i am in below freezing weather. It holds enough charge that a few hours of freezing temps does not effect me, Just means i need to head to warmer weather or pull up a weather map on one of the apps or on sat and figure out how long the freezing weather is gonna last. Takes very little effort to shut off the charger and thro the switch to disconnect the solar system

I dont pull a trailor so i have no thooughts on that stuff.

USB-C earbuds definitely exist, but it's true that they are hit-or-miss. You can get plenty of halfway decent Bluetooth earbuds for way less than $150. You could also look at a portable Bluetooth receiver like this one from Avantree. That would let you convert your existing headsets into Bluetooth headsets.

Bahaha, I didn't even notice on the main page, but it's literally just a Raspberry Pi with a case and keyboard. I thought it was just a board really similar to a Pi.

Let's see if I can build a similar kit for less than the price of this thing...

Type|Item|Price
:----|:----|:----
Board|Raspberry Pi Model B|$29.99
Power|Universal US USB Wall Charger|$0.25
USB Cable| 3ft Monoprice MicroUSB cable|$1.02
HDMI|Monoprice 1.5ft HDMI Cable|$2.03
Keyboard|Logitech K400 Bluetooth Keyboard with touchpad|$24.99
Bluetooth|Rocketek Bluetooth Adapter|$9.99
SD Storage|Kingston 8GB SD Card|$4.91
Case|SB Raspberry Pi Case|$6.99
OS|Raspbian, Pidora, Arch Linux, etc.|$0.00

It's a cool idea, but it's not really worth it for the price. Even the adafruit starter pack is cheaper than this, and includes lots of goodies for learning about electronics.

Have you considered Bluetooth? If your car has an AUX (3.5mm, headphone) input but no built-in Bluetooth....

Here's a well-rated very small $22 Aukey Bluetooth-to-3.5mm device that would let you control Siri and music (skip song, repeat song) from a small paddle:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0168GBMCY

If you don't care about the Siri button or repeat/skip song, here are some cheap Bluetooth-to-3.5mm that work fine for streaming music for $2-$5, from US sellers on ebay.

And here's a fantastic Bose $70 one:

I have been using the Bose Bluetooth Audio Adapter for about a week now and it works very well.

This one allows for up to 8 devices to be paired to it, and 2 devices can be concurrently connected to it. You can pause music on one phone and start playing music on the other without having to disconnect the first phone. It seems to work flawlessly. I have experienced no stuttering, audio dropouts, or other annoying behavior like I have from the many other Bluetooth adapters I have tried over the years.

This adapter is only for music streaming and doesn't handle phone calls. My car already has Bluetooth for phone calling so it was exactly what I needed to add music streaming.

The device is pretty expensive at $60, but it seems to be one of those "you get what you pay for" things since it works flawlessly.

there is a hack you can do using a USB2BT board like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PI7MDK0/?shop28-20

I got this working with my mechanical keyboards and Xbox 360 and One controllers.

You will need to provide power separately to the USB device and you'll need to power the board itself, the easiest way I found to do it is via a USB power bank.

u/CompactedPrism · 2 pointsr/raspberry_pi

Laugh at a random person on the internet?...never!

Sounds like BT is all you need so in that case pretty much anything that says Bluetooth would be fine. If the distances aren’t far a small USB adaptor could even do the trick. They are very cheap, and very simple to install.

e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XPCVB4F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iVGUDb8T248FR

Saying that if spending a few extra bucks isn’t an issue PCIe is likely to be more powerful and more reliable (as that has more space for the chip).

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M1ATR4C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the blue tooth dongle I have and it only picks up my pro controller when I remove and insert the bluetooth dongle. Once it detects it, I click pair and it takes a minute but then it says "error, cannot pair." Then it fails to find the pro controller again until I remove it and connect the bluetooth dongle back to my PC.

u/neuromonkey · 2 pointsr/Android

It has an HDMI in, and a USB hub. It'll work with anything that outputs HDMI and can connect to a USB hub.

Does your Nexus (which model?) have HDMI out? A Nexus phone may require a SlimPort adapter to get HDMI out. I don't know if you can split your Nexus microUSB into HDMI & USB or not. If not, the only way I can think of using the keyboard & touchpad would be by adding a USB/Bluetooth adapter of some sort--an Aten tap or IOGEAR Keyshair or something.

I have used it with a Sero 7 Pro, which is very similar to the 2012 Nexus 7 tablet, with the addition of an HDMI port.

I'm getting the impression the main problem is the PS3 side of things being locked up. Other devices have a hard time connecting to the PS3 also, such as the iphone and even some controllers. They need adapters to be able to work properly.

Hopefully when PS3 gets google tv integrated into it, they may be working more closely with google and thus allowing their bluetooth to be more device friendly.

As I was typing this out, I thought of another thing. Somewhere I was reading that some controllers needed their own adapters to be plugged into the PS3 to be able to work. I wonder how hard it would be to make an adapter that plugs into the PS3 and allows universal bluetooth connectivity. For that matter, I wonder if there is already something on the market for PC's that is basically a USB bluetooth dongle that might work? something like this perhaps?

Try ordering this on amazon after finding out if it can override your already installed Bluetooth, you should also to try move your pc, something about where it is might interfere with connection, if it’s under a desk or surrounded by something try moving it to on top of your desk or next to your chair. Unless it's 5+ years old, it should have bluetooth built in. But if it doesn't, that's the bluetooth adapter I use. Never had any issues setting anything up, and the range is decent.

u/ya_mashinu_ · 1 pointr/buildapc

It seems like all blue tooth mouse and keyboards come with their own specific BT receivers. Is there any reason they don't all work with a standard Bluetooth receiver? Are there any that do? For example I have this guy, costs $6 and works great with Bluetooth headphones, etc., but it still can't find any of my Bluetooth computer accessories and having 3 different USD BT receivers plugged in is absurd.

u/bmarra · 1 pointr/hackintosh

Just to follow up on this I ended up buying a TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 N900 and a iogear GBU521W6 as a quick fix but that didn't work for me either the wifi was great and the bluetooth worked but Handoff etc didn't work so I chanced it and I bought the Fenvi and that worked out the box with handoff etc the only problem I'm having now is imessage and phone calls work but it seems to only work at certain times of the day which is weird or it could be just after my hack as been on a hour or so but handing off to safari/chrome etc works everytime, so I'll look into that next but thanks for everyone's input.

>Wow that's a lot to take in. I'm happy you told me about the whole tweeter position.
> as I was about to try and turn them sideways cause I figured that my ears are up here so why put speakers below where my ears are.
>And your 100percent correct that the human mouth aims at the listeners ears.
>I haven't tried to play anything between 300 or 2000 hurts as yet. Is there a record or download I can get that will help me test that?

just anything vocal heavy. down to the river from "Oh Brother where art thou" the movie sound track is beautiful as is landslide by Fleetwood Mac the demo version or album version.

virtually all of her voice will be emanating not from the tweeter but from the woofer since the human voice tonally peaks before even 1000hz.

think about that. the human voice which is essentially the hardest thing to get right ranges from about 200hz to 1000hz and that's like Barry white and Mariah Carey minus her squeal which goes a bit higher.

and then around 1000-3000 is where lip noises breath the sound of consonants and sibilance are which is why our hearing is actually most sensitive there to allow us to be able to comprehend speech.

that range is such a hot spot that it's also the range of nails on chalk board and why the sound of people chewing with their mouths open cuts through the mix and is considered rude. it sounds louder to us than it really is...

a baby crying it's loudest, belting is what it's technically called, also falls within this range which again makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint.

so the role of the tweeter is really only reserved for the percussive sounds in vocals while tone is all handled by the woofer and tone is richness which is what you want the most of, while clarity on the other hand adds air and dimension / sound staging but is also fatiguing to our ears just like nails on chalk board.

in all music the entire spectrum is basically covered so at any given point you are actually hearing nails on chalkboard but along with other stuff so it doesn't sound as bad but regardless having that range a bit off axis is just more comfortable.

>Other wise they r great speakers and once I figure out how to get them hooked up to my Bluetooth I should be happy as a clam.

you can find pretty decent Bluetooth adapters with line out for around 20 bucks. just make sure it has good reviews and supports apt x.

>Thanks for your help, I feel good knowing that these are better than 5 pairs of ls50s! (And that must be a lot of speakers)

I like this one especially since it allows you to stream to two devices at once:

the advantage is also that it's super compact so I can carry it with me on a plane or something BUT it's range is limited. if you plan on expecting it to work across the house rather than just when you're in the room I'd grab something with actual antennas like this.

Hey

I seem to be having the absolute opposite problem where I want my device to auto-reconnect and it is not! https://www.reddit.com/r/amazonecho/comments/5r4b46/can_you_get_iftttsimilar_to_get_echo_to_pair_to/

Looking at reviews of the Logitech Adapter this is a persistent problem and is a source of negative feedback, i.e. https://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B00IJYG4FY/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=recent#R33WARHF5UFI21

The way I am approaching a solution is to buy an adapter which auto-connects (such as yours) and then hooking it up with a smart plug which works with Echo. When you want it to connect to your speakers you can simply ask it to turn on the plug and that will connect to your speakers.

The other thing you could do is return the logitech adaptor and buy one which doesn't auto connect. I can confirm this one doesn't: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neet-Bluetooth-Receiver-Wireless-streaming/dp/B00H8ONMGA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1485862180&sr=8-4&keywords=neet

A pair of proper bookshelf speakers with an amp is going to be better than those (or any) bluetooth speakers. If you need wireless, I recommend an Airport Express (better quality, reliability and range) or you can get a bluetooth adapter (cheap).

Okay, last question lol. Becuase I'm tight on budget, the A2+ might be my best bet right now. If I go with that and buy a Bluetooth receiver, would any of the following suffice?

u/_somebody_else_ · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

You'd probably be better off using an amp and a separate bluetooth receiver rather than looking for an all-in-one unit.

Something like this plus an amp of your choosing. The receiver is about 5cm square.

u/poundSound · 1 pointr/audio

Depending on what you want from the foam it might be a good idea. It won't provide any isolation as what you want for that is mass, but it should prevent any really nasty high frequency reflections on the walls. If you like the aesthetics of it then there's no reason not to get it.

If you just want to be able to wirelessly connect to a stationary speaker set you could get something like this.

u/akash227 · 1 pointr/hackintosh

You don't need to buy an adapter you can buy an internal wifi+bluetooth card. What I did was buy a tplink wdn4800 for wifi which is fairly cheap and works well and then a Bluetooth adapter. I believe my iMessage and FT work but I can't get airdrop. If you don't need handoff or any of those features you can grab any compatible bt adapter. Here's links for my wireless set up. Both of these work out of the box so I didn't have to install any extra kexts. If your looking for an all in one internal bt+wifi card google it I believe there's a list on tonymacx86.

Unfortunately the headphones are Aptx but not Aptx LL (which is a requirement to use their microphone on PS4) but the sound is great and I don't notice any latency even if it's technically there.

Well, I use one of those: amazon

Works great with Wii remote and PS4 controller on W10.

One option you have is a combo wifi + bluetooth PCIe card. Since bluetooth and wifi share the 2.4GHz band, you'll get range that is similar to wifi since they both use the same antennas. If you have a laptop, you'll probably need to get a mini-PCIe card like this. Looks like there in the $15-$40 price bracket.

Bluetooth's default codec has high latency which means that the video/audio will go out of sync and the sound quality will be shite, at least for me.

aptX is a codec that's meant to fix that, and aptX-LL (Low Latency) would be the best choice for streaming desktop audio wirelessly.

Buy the FiiO BTR1, which is aptX+aptX-LL capable receiver and also buy a transmitter that's capable of aptX-LL (like this, this or this) and you'll not regret having aptX capable gear after trying to watch normal YouTube videos or game on that crappy default BT connection.

I believe macOS can utilize aptX by default, but if you have a Windows PC and do not have a 3.5mm jack to hook up the transmitter to, then you can buy an aptX-capable dongle like this and install the CSR Harmony BT stack because the default Microsoft BT stack does not properly support aptX.

I have a BTR1 and the CSR 4.0 dongle that I linked above and I get near zero latency unless I go too far (it switches codec to the default BT one if I go too far) - I'm not sure if it's using aptX-LL though, but it's definitely using aptX.

The upcoming FiiO BTR3 and the Bluewave GET also support aptX-HD apart from aptX-LL, but I don't think most media can even use such a high bitrate, so aptX-LL will be fine for now.

I guess you can ignore my advice if you are happy with the Mpow receiver (like many people) - I didn't use it personally, but my experience with non-aptX devices has been awful.

Had the same issue with my PC and Laptop, just couldnt manage to pair my bluetooth headphones so I bought this and it fixed it. Also to add its only for Audio

Yes, many of these devices exist. Most have fairly limited (SBC) audio quality, but some support advanced codecs like Apt-X. Here's an example of such a device

They would work much the same way, the software would be the same if from the same manufacture. But you might as well just a get a cheap USB one, then if it breaks its easy to replace.

Hey thanks, what are your thoughts on usb bluetooth adapters - would they affect sound quality?

As listed, yeah, this is going to be complex. You could add a Bluetooth dongle like this (https://www.amazon.com/Harman-Kardon-External-Bluetooth-Adapter/dp/B009CA7G92/ref=sr_1_1) to the receiver for at least adding wireless playback to your receiver. Beyond that though, with the Alexa integration and all I'm a bit at a loss for how to handle that

FWIW, the adapters are so cheap, I ended up buying 5 of them; I use on on a linux mint system, one on a RetroPi setup, and one for my Windows VM and each of them works great with a DS4.

It started when I was first trying to get a DS3 to work within RetroPi using the BT adapter that came on a laptop, and found a thread regarding how they could only successfully get it working with a generic BT adapter, and I`ve never looked back.

I even go about disabling my on-board BT now, and just use the little BT adapters:

Here is one example, but I have found packs of 5 for under 10$ before on ebay:

Firesticks have Bluetooth. Get a Bluetooth bridge like this one (there’s a ton of them out there)

Here's a BT adapter that I use for $10. It works pretty well and is BT 4.0.

But yeah, the PS4 controller is better and is MUCH easier to connect to a PC than the Wii U Pro controller. I mean, I LOVE the Pro controller and it's great for emulations, but the PS4 is just SO much easier to connect.
