Not sure if effective, but Aris uses the M-Brace.

If a Tekken player uses it and says it works, I'd believe them with all the Korean Backdashing they have to do.

I believe Knee has wrist straps as well (not the M-Brace), but never looked into them.

u/veritaszak · 10 pointsr/BabyBumps

I started developing it early from bloating. I agree, Google searches were really unhelpful because in addition to almost everyone getting it, I couldn't find anything to support it during pregnancy; everything seemed to start at postpartum.

After talking to my doctor and sisters, they recommended this support belt which has been monumental in stopping the progression in its tracks.

I've also stopped lifting anything over 15lbs, and am really mindful of not using my abs (like getting out if bed or the car. I now roll on my side and walk myself up with my hands to sit up.)

I'm only 14 weeks but my DR was getting so bad I couldn't stand up straight because I felt like I was going to rip in half. I've been really diligent making these changes and feel vastly better already about a week later.

Edited: typos on mobile, sorry!

Maybe you could look into getting some sort of glove? Breathable so you don’t sweat extra, but also has fingertip grips so you don’t fat finger any keys. I’ll search it on amazon and see if I can find anything.

Edit: Something like these might help. These are compression gloves for wrist pain/strain but you may enjoy that for long gaming sessions.

  • Lightweight, breathable cotton-spandex material will allow you to wear the gloves comfortably all day long. Temperature regulating - retains heat to soothe hands and knuckles without becoming stuffy.*

Check these out. I was having the same problem. Bought this and it's helped significantly. The package only comes with 1 but you can very easily cut it in half and it still provides plenty of coverage where you need it.

If you're seriously considering a wrist brace for gaming, I got two of these because my wrists started hurting after playing fighting games on an arcade stick/hitbox for extended periods of time. M-Brace.

I wore them this past league for the first time and it made a huge difference for me.

u/C0uchHugger · 4 pointsr/TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

Look for a compression glove that's designed for arthritis relief, they tend to focus more on the palm and fingers rather than the wrist, I have to wear one when I sew.

This is the pair I use

I have this one. I did my normal size and don't wear the band over the top. It works great for me!

I fixed my plantar fasciitis with this in less than a week. So did my husband. So did at least 3 of my friends who borrowed it, 2 of them marathoners who were unable to run. This thing WORKS. I am sure all the other suggestions for stretching will too, but this is very reliable and fast.

Thick neoprene knee sleeves have helped me tremendously. They warm up your knee sweating hot and help keep the joint better lubricated. I start every workout barely able to bend my knees, and all cracks and pops are gone by the end of my warm-up sets.

I recommend these from Nordic Lifting, just as high-quality as the classic Rehbands (I have both) and much less expensive.

u/SepsisRN · 4 pointsr/nursing

I can remember being young and feeling invincible which is how I hurt my back.

Always use lifting aids and additional help.

I use a back brace every shift now: this is my lumbar support brace.

I also use a posture corrector similar to this, I couldn't find the exact brace I use on amazon so I can't recommend this particular brace but I was surprised how much of a difference it made.

Both of these braces take some getting used to, especially the posture corrector but again I was surprised how much of a difference it made.

Compression gloves, they’ll protect your hands and help with any pain in your hands from knitting too long, I think the ones I have are by vive, I got them for around $13 on amazon
Edit: these ones right here are what I have

Plantar Fasciitis Posterior Night Splint- Large (Colors May Vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PX5HM9O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_tLEaMNDQhpAhj

I also used some compression socks too for pain relief during the day. Good luck!

u/MrTwoToedSloth · 3 pointsr/Fibromyalgia

Yeah, mine are a mess in the morning. I sleep in compression gloves to help with it. I also use these when I'm at the computer. I've dismissed it for the last 10 years because I thought I was too young to have RA but I think it's probably time to bring it up at my next visit. Hoping it's just fibro being fibro.

u/desus756 · 3 pointsr/bodybuilding

I'm definitely going to look at getting some again.

u/Brainlesslyfalling · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

Hi- I have an umbilical hernia and honestly the best solution for me was just not bending over and lifting unless absolutely necessary. So I had to give up some jobs for awhile such as picking up dog poop in the back yard, for instance. I bought this belt ( https://www.amazon.com/Maternity-Belt-NEOtech-Pregnancy-Support/dp/B01GO2M7DU/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=belly%2Bband&qid=1573741034&sr=8-8&th=1 ) from amazon. I adjusted the band over where my hernia would bulge and I think it helped some.

I'm 39 weeks now and I will say that, at least for my umbilical hernia, it eventually moved as my uterus grew and I have not felt it bulge out in a few months now. So hopefully hers will do the same!

u/eatmyshorts5 · 3 pointsr/Tekken

I got carpal tunnel playing way too much Tekken and Beatmania right before season 3. I wasn't listening to my body and it progressed to this. I won't be able to play for a long time and it maybe in my best interest to quit fighting games in general. Be sure to listen to your body and take preventative steps like with exercising.

Also it's not a bad idea to wear a non intrusive wrist brace to just support your wrist while playing. If you're not convinced, Knee wears wrist braces while playing. Some on told me this is the wrist brace Aris wears and it seems pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PFUPRQ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/empanadamn_ · 3 pointsr/DJs

Vibo Care posture corrector, $17.99 USD
Inspired by the succession of people posting photos of themselves on this sub hunkered over their controllers, it reminded me of how oblivious we are to our posture when we're in the zone. A normal gig for me is 6 hours of playing, and I know I'm not practicing good posture the whole time. Instagram starting flashing these ads for this product, so I thought I'd give it a try for a measly $20. Used it a few times while at gigs, and I can't tell if it helps or not. It feels like a tiny backpack, and gets uncomfortable over a long period of time. That said, one is supposed to wear it for a short amount of time, day to day.

Pyle Pro PLPTS55 Laptop Stand, $45.99 USD
Purchased this for a club I'm a resident at, and a cheap replacement to the comparable UDG Creator Laptop Stand, at about $140 cheaper. Modular, folds for portability, and has a telescopic height adjustment.

Hudson Hi-Fi Isolation Feet, $25.50 USD
Purchased these for my Pioneer-DDJ 1000SRT to give it some lift and offer some shock absorption. Adhered some velcro stick to them so I can apply as needed. After a few uses, I find them a little too rubbery, so if I'm heavy on the jog wheels, I encounter some wobble on the whole controller. One who doesn't scratch or manually cue might have better results.

White gaffers tape, $20.81 USD (prices vary)
In providing my own gear, and working events in different spaces, I like to commit to the details, conceal any network of cables, and have a clean presentation. In this case, I use this in white rooms with white floors and /or walls; other venues call for other colors. Pro-tip: Write "DJ" or something as an identifier on the side of the tape or inside of the paper roll in the event it wanders off. I've accidentally permanently borrowed and vice versa.

I've been dead-lifting using knee sleeves

These ones specifically.

https://www.amazon.com/Sleeves-Compression-Weightlifting-Powerlifting-CrossFit/dp/B00SW2O5M2/ref=sr_1_10?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1524759401&sr=1-10&keywords=knee+sleeve

I've noticed USAPL doesn't use knee wraps when deadlifing. I'm wondering if I should not use them? Maybe they limit the deadlift?

u/phineasfogg442 · 2 pointsr/knitting

After marathon knitting sessions, I’ve also experienced similar pain. I wear compression, fingerless gloves for a couple days (even when I’m not knitting) and they really helpOn Amazon

u/lukeatron · 2 pointsr/Karting

I've got tennis elbow (same thing as golf elbow but on the outside of the forearm rather than the inside). Those straps with lump on the inside that you wear just below your elbow (these things) actually work surprisingly well. For pain where you have it you wear it so the lump is pressing down on the muscle on the inside/top of your forearm. The pain you're getting is from tension in that muscle group putting strain on the attachment point to your bone at an angle that wants to pull the muscle away from the bone. The strap keeps that angle more acute to the bone so the force is no trying to pulling the tendon away from the bone and instead parallel to it. It gets sore because that force is causing little tears in the connective tissue, which gets inflamed and cause more tearing.

The thing that sucks about those straps is that for them to work, you have to crank them down pretty tight. This somewhat limits the blood flow and also gets really tight when your forearm muscle flexes. Despite those annoyances, they do work really well. After it stops hurting (because its healed up) you can do forearm exercises to strengthen the muscles and tendons and that should help prevent the tendonitis from returning. It's important to let it heal up all the way first or you'll just do more damage that causes more inflammation that causes more damage and on and on. It's kind of a crappy injury like that in that you often have to stop doing the thing that's causing it for a while so it can have a chance to heal. That's why it's such a persistent injury for golfers and tennis players, they never want to stop playing long enough for it to heal.

u/LivinRite · 2 pointsr/bodybuilding

They're not SBDs, but I've had these for two years, wash them once a week, and they're still holding up:

https://www.amazon.com/Sleeves-Compression-Weightlifting-Powerlifting-CrossFit/dp/B00SW2O5M2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=15769MNB24PCL&keywords=nordic+knee+sleeves+for+weightlifting&qid=1565879731&s=gateway&sprefix=nordic+knee+sleeves%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-1

And relatively affordable at $40.

Also have an Inzer bodybuilding-tapered belt that's going on 3 years now. Only complaint is that I should have gotten a Small instead of a Medium (I fluctuate between the last three holes, depending on bulk/cut)

u/Typesetter · 2 pointsr/ftm

'nother bigger guy here! --I don't use a manufactured-for-binding binder at all. I use a Mueller brace. I just introduced the guys in my local support group to this, and how to put it on right, and they freakin' love it.
It's this one, if you're curious. http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Adjustable-Regular-1-Count-Package/dp/B00267SFKC

u/JustFenix · 2 pointsr/MultipleSclerosis

The strap I have has hand hold loops every 8 inches or so and it's like 8ft long. Basically it gives me handles that I can use to push the stretch. I have small hands and my grip is becoming an issue so the handles the handle loops just make things easier. My bone spurs are on the front of my heel rather than the back but I know that pain. My sports med guy gave me a torture device to sleep in which was supposed to solve the problem but just gave me bouts of spasticity. The strap was a much better solution!!

This is the kind I was talking about. Stretching Strap

i keep it in my bathroom, and all you need is the tiniest little pfft of spray and dear god i can smell it through the bathroom and bedroom if the door is left open. i haven't had to buy a can in a year and yes i've used it to cover the smell of trees too ^-^

I went through a couple of belts before I found this one which I love.

Note: The top belt is supposed to help hold it in place. I’ve never used it and it’s always worked fine.

*I have had tons of issues with calf tightness in the past! I highly recommend foam rolling and stick rolling (such as this one from Amazon ) every day until you build up calf strength. If you have extra money to spend, I find calf stretchers like these to be better than other calf stretching exercises.

Ultimately, seeing a physio would be your best bet because there could be all sorts of other issues contributing, but these should help.

I bought these and they're a big help. The copper ribbing did come off fairly quickly but the compression goes a long way.

Best of luck to you, my friend.

Edit: I do also sometimes use medical tape on the joints closest to my nails, if they're hurting.

u/Hella_Potato · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I would suggest a few things.

  • Get an ankle "boot" style brace. They are great, as you can't always count on the terrain to be kind to you. If you turn your ankle on a hike/run these are pretty much indispensable for stability and support.
  • A rain poncho is the bees knees when it comes to hiking, especially depending on location!
  • I find these Water Filters handy for when I am going on runs in the forest. I used to carry one when I worked as a ski instructor, they are the best if you don't want to have to haul around a bunch of gear!
  • These. The longer you hike, the more you will chafe. These are your best friends.
  • Finally, socks. I can't recommend what style is good for you, because I don't know what you're working with in terms of actual boots/shoes, but I like Underarmor and Merino boot socks both for support, and also fluffy amazing comfort.

    Happy trails!
u/hivemind_MVGC · 2 pointsr/LARP

>I need boots that are stiff around the ankles.

They're definitely not that. There's an easy solution, though. Just get yourself a pair of these: http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Adjustable-Ankle-Stabilizer-Black/dp/B0027VKR5S/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1382963753&sr=8-5&keywords=ankle+brace

and wear them under your shoes. When you make the last of your foot for Sodhoppers, do so with the brace on.

This is what I do for fighting SCA in turnshoes.

u/periodicBaCoN · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

I've never used one, but if you search for belly support band or something like that, amazon has options. This one has good reviews and the answers have opinions from people that say they've used it for running. I haven't noticed any bouncing of my belly when running yet at 17+4.

u/dmillz89 · 2 pointsr/Fitness

I got these sleeves and they are awesome for keeping my knees warm.

Don't cheap out on a belt, it's worth it.

Shoes you can get some nice Vans for like $40.

u/TheLaunchPad · 2 pointsr/houston

This worked for me. The only tough thing is sleeping with something like that on your foot. After a few weeks I felt great.

u/xWalmartCandyx · 2 pointsr/ChronicPain

I've had this one since February and i love it. I mainly use it for work and it keeps my posture straight and really helps me.

u/Tossmeoutatwork · 2 pointsr/hockeyplayers

I got a pair of these (https://www.amazon.com/Absolute-Bunga-Pads-Ankle-Sleeve/dp/B000289XWQ/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=bunga+pad&qid=1556205967&s=gateway&sr=8-3) when I retired my first pair of skates because the stiffer boot was putting more pressure on my ankle from the top of the boot. It's just a bit of gel padding and stays in place pretty well

u/morriscode · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

About 9 years ago now, I was doing tech support for a Dial-Up ISP in Michigan. It was an awesome job, you could smoke inside, and we sat around playing unreal tournament all night.

It was Thanksgiving day and I was working I started at 4pm. I noticed I forgot to put on deodorant that day and was smelling pretty ripe. I sprayed some of this in my armpits. And experienced the worst burning sensation ever.

I had to call the number on the back of the bottle and talk to the lady that answered who couldn't believe what I did. She told me to rinse it out (which i tried unsuccessfully in the bathroom sink, I also tried putting lotion on it) Neither of those helped. So she told me to put Vaseline on it, there was a Walgreens across the street so I bought the largest tub they had.

So I'm sitting at work with greased up armpits Vaseline citrus smelling armpits. And a dripping wet shirt.

TLDR: Only put deodorant in your armpits.

Would something like this work?

u/H2daG · 2 pointsr/rheumatoid

I've worked in medicine for years and spend long hours on my feet. I've dealt with plantar fasciitis a time or two, also. Some recommendations that have been helpful to me:

  1. Hard soled shoes for work (soft and squishy are the enemy) like Sanitary or Dansko.
  2. Major arch support in your outside-of-work shoes. My podiatrist recommended Superfeet insoles (check your local Sporting Goods store), which I love.
  3. Well-fitting sneakers. Try a shop like Fleet Feet which will help you find a customized fit according to your gait.
  4. Sleep in a dorsiflexion splint. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PX5HM9O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491574136&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=plantar+fasciitis+night+splint&psc=1
  5. Relieve tightness in your calves with stretching and foam rolling. Yoga poses like downward dog helped me quite a bit.
  6. See a podiatrist for steroid injections.

    Good luck!

This is the belt I use and my Physiotherapist wears this one too (she's also hypermobile which is why she specializes in it)...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000R3KN9S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

It works best if you wear it against your skin, under your underwear and clothes. It fits best under sweatpants or loose pants. Mine doesn't fit under jeans or pants without stretch. The Physio told me NEVER to wear it while sleeping or lying down, but you can wear it the rest of the time... especially while sitting on the couch for long periods or while doing housework or grocery shopping, etc. Don't make it too tight, just snug. Give the belt at least a week, adjust it slightly up or down, or tighter or looser until you find a spot that feels comfortable. Some days I wear mine a bit higher, some days a bit lower. If you have Salonpas gel or patches, or Biofreeze, or IcyHot.. try rubbing it on all the spots that hurt the most. The tingly cold feeling helps distract from the pain, if nothing else. Ice packs are good and heating pads.

I’m not sure where you live, but in the US doctors are not taught much about SI joints. I have found that the Orthopedic surgeons never really consider anything but your spine. It’s as if the pelvis doesn’t exist to them. I was checked for a labral tear as well, but there was nothing on the MRIs/Xrays. If you can find a Physiatrist/Osteopathic doctor they would be the ones to know about SI joints and hypermobility and can probably refer you to the right kind of physical therapist. I hope you find some pain relief soon!

u/crystal2435 · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

It really depends on the type of problems you are having. Diastases issue? The recommendation is a standard pregnancy belt. If you are having pelvic and sacral instability then an SI belt is probably recommended. They do make a modified verson of the two molded into one such as this one. Hope that helps a bit.

I actually have a form of both. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.

u/Bitsqu · 2 pointsr/pregnant

I bought a maternity belt. It was a complete waste of money. It was so uncomfortable to wear and didn't support my back at all. Citrus oil works twice as fast with no toxins.
I've seen crews removing 1000s of stickers in retail resets with 100% pure citrus oil air freshener spray. NOTHING works better, for sticker removal, leaving a super clean surface. Retail reset people who are tasked with 1000s of sticker removals per week are the ones who have tried literally everything, from surgical tape removal fluid, to every product and secret internet trick ever conceived.

That's the style my midwife recommended. The band that goes across the top is optional for extra support but I don't ever use it as it doesn't seem necessary.

u/iliketorun21 · 1 pointr/running

I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for a couple of months now. I'm just now feeling like I'm recovering from it. My advice is to respect the injury. The more you push it, the longer you will take to recover. Don't try to do more than you should just because you have a marathon coming up - you'll just make things worse. There's always another race you can run later.

As for what's working for me:

  1. I went to the podiatrist and got some inserts for my shoes which helped. Never walk barefoot if you can help it.

  2. Get a night splint. Seriously, it makes a huge difference in recovery. I've tried several different ones: 1 2 3. The first one (Strassburg Sock) is the best one in my opinion. It's the most comfortable to sleep in and it stretches the plantar fascia the most.

  3. Get a few metal water bottles and fill them up and stick them in the freezer. They're very good for icing your feet, which helps.

Have you seen a doctor? If not, I highly recommend. They’ll probably hook you up with a boot and a stretcher like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M72IX86/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PrpFDbMP7ZSBE

I work in Inbound for Amazon and occasionally scanning on the floor, I bought this back brace (link bellow). After i started wearing this , i had no back problems/nor pain whatsoever, it really helped me out. Also invest in some work soles and knee brace. YOLO take care of your body.

I had the same brace you posted, and could not wear it. The art and act of getting that thing on caused more damage than going without.

I have been wearing these for years, and love them: http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctor-Stabilizer-Flexible-Support/dp/B005NR37NC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1416036091&sr=8-3&keywords=ankle+braces+shock

around the house if I am weak I wear these:http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Adjustable-Ankle-Stabilizer-Black/dp/B0027VKR5S/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1416036210&sr=8-11&keywords=ankle+braces+soft

ankle braces are very personal, there is so much that can go wrong with all the small bones and ligaments of that joint that it will be trial and error. I have tried at least a dozen braces, those work well for me. And combat boots. combat boots rock.

I ordered this night brace from amazon and slept with it for a couple of weeks. If you're having trouble with both feet, it might help to wear it on one foot per night, because it's a bit uncomfortable to try with both. It cleared it up. It will likely recur without proper additional stretching and calf strengthening. I've been doing heel drops and calf raises on stairs and just about every calf stretch known to man. It's finally looking up for me.

edit: I also foam roll my calves.

I have a long-term back injury as I was hit by a car while on a motorcycle at 60mph back in 2011 - broke over a dozen bones, screwed up my spine, and have permanent nerve damage. I don't think I was lasting even 60mins on a piano bench. I did two things which had miraculous effects. First, I also put on lower back and upper back braces before sitting down on the piano bench. Secondly, I now sit on a thick memory foam cushion on top of the piano bench. Your mileage might vary, but the combo of these three items has been nothing short of miraculous for me. The other day, I sat 2 straight hours at the piano and there was not even one peep from my back.

About 2 years ago I had CT in my non-bowling wrist. Funny enough, at the time, I bought a new phone and because of the shape and how I held it, I developed CT. I got the wrist support that stabilizes your thumb. Similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Thumb-Splint-Wrist-Brace-Immobilizer/dp/B07DXM7Y2F

Saw the doctor, took some anti-inflammatory and it luckily went away shortly after.

The past 2 months, my bowling arm wrist has developed CT. This one isn't as painful and it actually does not hurt while in the motion of bowling. It does hurt other times, a lot.

I can't bowl with that wrist support that stabilizes your thumb. I went looking around and found this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PFUPRQ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

I cannot say this is the answer, I am still using it, but the pain has slowly gone away and I do feel support when I bowl. Its difficult to 'recommend', but it seems to be helping.

Stretch your calfs hard a few times a day for a few weeks. It will go away.

With palm facing up, left side of forearm just below the joint? Do this and wear one of these during practice until the discomfort is gone.

You can buy a "boot" or splint to wear at night when you sleep that keeps your foot in a flexed position. They sell them for plantar fasciitis.

My issue was due to sitting at a desk all day with poor posture. I bought this back brace thing that helped to correct the underlying problem. I would highly recommend it if you think the problem is from sitting poorly.

Also, I made a diy neck hammock for cervical traction. I felt like it gave me a little relief, but nothing extraordinary.

Finally, there is a neural glide where you make an upside down ok sign over your eye. You can find a bunch of videos on youtube, but these guys show it in the last minute of their video... they also have some other interesting insights that might be enlightening.

This stuff absolutely melts any sticky residue. It's 100% citrus oil.

It also doubles as badass air freshener. You might not use a whole bottle of goo be gone but that works too.

u/Danceitoffgirl · 1 pointr/orangetheory

I personally love this calf stretcher thingy that helps get a deep stretch in my calves.

Foam rolling too. If you have someone at home who can help you, lay on your belly on the floorand have them roll out your calves/hamstrings. You can even use a rolling pin for this too.

u/icey · 1 pointr/running

I've been recuperating by using a split like this. That on top of stretching constantly, paying attention to form and not running when it really hurts has helped me get over it. It's been a long process for me, and from reading around it sounds like it's just a slow injury to work through.

Good luck!

I use these on both ankles because my ankles are the worst. They don't seem too bulky to me. There's also the ones that are basically compression socks which are better than nothing.

u/tiltedcanvas · 1 pointr/rollerderby

I basically destroyed my ankle in my first year of play, and now almost always wear a brace. I've been trying to wean off and down onto tape the last few months but I feel super insecure because of how the break was before. If you have someone who knows how to tape, try that. Otherwise, perhaps try one of these braces?

I used this one when I first came back

I use this one now (less rigid)

I like both of them and they fit in my skates without feeling bulky at all. I still go back to the first one when the weather changes and my ankle gets super painful.

u/aronator · 1 pointr/weightroom

I use the TK knee bands, but if i had smaller legs i'd definitely be using these
(here's an amazon link) They're way cheaper, and they're what you see most of the chinese olympic weightlifters wearing. I've heard about them holding up for about a year with daily use, and for 13 bucks you could get 5 pairs for the price of some rehbands.

edit: here's some pictures of lu yong wearing them when he won gold in beijing.

u/NYSenseOfHumor · 1 pointr/backpain

I'm 25-35 and have had back pain for years, sitting makes it worse and driving is worse than sitting so your experience is typical.

If you have a medical emergency get to an ER and/or call 911 or your national equivalent.

I've found massages help a lot, more than chiropractic in my experience. Massages for me provide longer-term relief and the massage therapist also focuses on secondary symptoms in the arms and legs that can be caused by a radiated nerve.

Since your massage is not until Friday see if you can get a walk-in or at least short notice chiropractic appointment, many have them available for this reason and it might just help carry you over.

If you can get an appointment with your primary care they may write a prescription. You should do this anyway because back problems only get worse.

I've found that wearing a back brace while sitting at my desk helps a lot, [this one] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00267SFKC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_INvGzbN7R52PV) is the number one best seller on Amazon for a reason, I wore it all day today.

Make sure to stretch, a lot. I am bad about it when I am working and get into a project but it's important. [Foam rollers] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0040EGNIU/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_2QvGzbCB7YYF9) are great for before and after work since it may be strange to have in your office.

For while at work, look at these videos on desk stretching from the [Mayo Clinic] (http://mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/adult-health/in-depth/office-stretches/art-20046041).

Heat and/or ice helps too.

u/jkkhani · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

I had this around 17 weeks, primarily on the right side and could barely walk. I wore a si-loc hip belt I found on amazon 24/7, did some core strengthening, went to chiro and acupuncture, and it eased up and went away completely after a couple weeks. 37 weeks now and so thankful for just regular general aches and pains. I remember sobbing to my husband terrified that the pain wouldn't go away! I'm so sorry and I hope yours resolves soon!

Edit to add link to the belt: OPTP SI-LOC Support Belt - Small/Medium (670) - Low Back and Pelvic Pain Relief https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000R3KN9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tshSzbKTQHT4B

For Tennis Elbow you wear the fat compression part on the outside of your forearm just below your elbow. For Golf Elbow you wear the fat compression part on the inside of your forearm just below your elbow. It supports the tendon that is strained or starting to tear. It gave me immediate relief. I play 250 rounds/year and have not had to miss a day using this device.

Hi, hope my anecdotal evidence helps a bit. Take it with a grain of salt, everyone's body reacts a bit differently to an injury.

I herniated a disk in my lower back ~ 10 months ago. After the diagnosis I was in such pain that I didn't do anything back related for a long time. I could barely sit in a 10 minute car ride without having to take a break. About 4 months ago (6 months after injury) the pain had subsided greatly but was still present. I started doing very, very, very basic back work in order to strengthen it. My rationale was that staying off it wasn't working so I wanted to attempt anything to stop the pain.

First Month sets of 10 hypertension, no weight, nice and slow. Threw some planks in there, any core work that didn't aggravate it in any way i attempted. From there I took it about as slow as humanly possible and incorporated deadlifts (9months after injury). Keeping it very light around 135 lb. I'm planning on keeping it at that weight for ~ 2-4 months before i even attempt to put more weight on. I forgot to mention that I wore a back brace for every workout, starting with the hyperextesions. I think that was another crucial part. back brace.

10 Months ago I had a doctor tell me I could never do any workout that involved weight going down on my spine. I looked everywhere for any kind of hope that it wasn't true. I hope my story will give you a bit of hope for your future fitness wise. Just remember to take it slow.

Good Luck!

I’m 28w and this back brace/support band has saved me so much discomfort. My doctor let me know the branded stuff (like Belly Band) is often over priced for what it does. Bought my close friend who is having twins the same one and she loves it. Pregnancy Support Band

u/SFLadyGaga · 1 pointr/climbing

Sounds like you are describing "climber's elbow". Take it easy until your tendons get stronger. Also consider using a "tennis elbow" brace while doing pull ups to lessen the pain.
