Original post:

Top to bottom:

  • elago (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHFYJM7/)
  • Bear Motion (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XRVK3WS/)
  • Maxboost mSnap (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XS8R8TK/)
  • Spigen Thin Fit (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XP54BCW/)

I've been trying out these four thin cases. In the image you can see my S8 face down in each case, with a Verizon tempered glass screen protector on. You can see the edge of it, a white line which curves downward at each end.

I'm thinking of removing the screen protector, so I took these photos to see which case would provide the most protection when the S8 is face down without a screen protector. The Spigen has a raised lip at the top and bottom of the case that just barely keeps the screen protector off the surface below. The Maxboost lips are about even with the screen protector. The Bear Motion lips barely rise above the S8 screen, and there are no lips on the elago.

The Spigen is the most robust case and is the biggest weighing 18 grams, has a raised lip around the camera for extra protection (you can see it in the bottom picture), has space for a metal plate for a magnetic car mount (if you like that sort of thing), and is made of a grippy matte material. Definitely this feels like the case with the most protection. Very nice.

The Maxboost is slightly smaller than the Spigen and weighs 17 grams. It's matte material is a bit less grippy and the buttons aren't as easy to press because the openings aren't cut away like the Spigen. There is no raised lip for the camera. I like it though because it is slightly smaller than the Spigen.

The Bear Motion is made of a sandy feeling matte material that provides great grip. It is about the same size as the Maxboost but only weighs 13 grams and has cut-away button openings and a very small raised lip for the camera. I like it too!

The elago is extremely thin, weighing only 5 grams. It is barely bigger than the phone itself. It is so thin that mine got a small rip near the power button on the right when I was taking it on and off, and the left side is slightly loose, not as snug as the right. Buttons are easy to press as they actually protrude beyond the sides of the case! It is matte, grippy but not quite as grippy as the others. It also has a small raised lip for the camera. It feels great in the hand but doesn't give confidence as it has no protection to speak of except for scratches and fingerprints.

Although size-wise the Spigen is my least favorite, I may end up using it because it inspires the most confidence, seems like it might do better in a drop situation, while protecting the screen better when the phone is face down due to having the largest top and bottom lips, and also the biggest lip around the camera.

If that is the Spiegen case you are talking about, I can personally vouch for it being great. Feels A LOT better than the included case and increases grippability by a lot. I personally have not had the phone slip out of my hand once and the material which I think is poly carbonate or some strong plastic/rubber hybrid is the same used on Otterboxes or other strong, rugged cases.

3 things it does very well:

  1. The case is higher than the edges of the curved display. This prevents accidental mistouches, and is supposedly better for drop production as the glass won't touch the ground first.

2)It adds texture to the power button which is a godsend because I accidentally hit the volume buttons all the time.

  2. Makes the touch target for the the finger print sensor very easy to hit as the case cutout sort of divots into it providing a natural place for the whole finger to rest thereby increasing accuracy.

The biggest con is that it isn't very screen protector friendly. A majority of screen protectors will sort of be pushed up by it. If you look on XDA only a few notable screen protectors work with it which is unfortunate because the case is so highly regarded that the first question is, "Does the Spiegen case work with it" in regards to any screen protector. In case your wondering the included screen protector and some wet application ones work with it.

It's also not the prettiest case which can be pretty subjective and I'm not a fan of the Spiegen logo which looks pretty ugly IMO.

Otherwise fantastic case. I use a case on all my phones and this one hits a lot of marks and increases both the durability and usability of the phone.

For cases, I would stick with something like Spigen.

I've had this case since I got my phone back in November and it's worked wonders.

I don't really know if other cases offer protection like this, but even when I had a similar spigen case on my previous Samsung S6, I didn't seem to get any screen cracks or any wear and tear, on the screen atleast, with these cases.

I'd get into my car with shallow pockets holding my phone in them, my pixel 2 xl would slip out straight onto concrete. The worst damage is probably some scratching on the corners of the case. Other than that, the phone came out perfect.

Another bonus I guess is that it's not overly bulky and keeps the slimness of the pixel 2 xl, which I like a lot about it.

I can't recommend it enough tbh.

u/forestowls · 11 pointsr/iphone

Here ya go!
Wireless Charger, Clear Spigen Case, Spigen Car Mount Case, Peel Case, Glass Screen Protector, Apple Watch Stand, Airpods Stand.
I realize that the magnetic Spigen case won't work with wireless charging, but it's specifically going to be used as a car mount case for long drives/trips etc. These are Canadian links to Amazon, unfortunately.. but I'm sure that they should be easy to find elsewhere.

u/bruisecruising · 10 pointsr/GooglePixel

i was in the same boat. i use a bear motion case. it couldn't be any thinner, and adds a soft, sandpaper-y finish which vastly increases grip.

u/ElegantTobacco · 9 pointsr/Axon7
u/ChickenMcTesticles · 8 pointsr/LGG3

I like the Spigen slit fit case. Doesn't add much bulk and offers good protection.

u/RipInPepz · 8 pointsr/iphone

Spigen Ultra Hybrid with the Red Xr.

edit: the one with the matte black sides.

u/ragnarokxg · 8 pointsr/oneplus

I am thinking of purchasing this case because I do not like the aesthetics of the Otterbox:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6GZXZK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3oB3CbSWKV0S6

u/Absinthian · 7 pointsr/MotoX

The case I have is the Moto X Case, SUPCASE [Unicorn Beetle Series]

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00N3VHD6C

Slim, compact, strong, fits well and is clear so you can still see the funky back of my phone

u/Kanonhime · 7 pointsr/Axon7

CyanogenMod is dead. Better off waiting for the official 7.0 build for the time being.

Spigen's case is pretty damn good, but for screen protectors someone else will have to chime in.

u/RosieNoShoes · 5 pointsr/RedditLaqueristas

I used this one and the pic was pretty decent.

The photos aren't of nails, but are a good example of with/without the macro lens. First and third picture are without, second and fourth are with.

u/davs34 · 5 pointsr/Nexus

I have the Diztronic and love it. Had it for my Nexus 5 as well. I really like that there it is just entirely matt black with very, very little branding.

u/frizo · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

If you're looking for a simple, thin, and lightweight TPU case then Diztronic is great. I've been using them on my last three phones including the 6p. They're not the flashiest case out there, but they're high quality and withstand the test of time rather well.

u/GiraffeGlove · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

I like the diztronic case, black border, clear back. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0198W4B3M/

u/cobijah · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

I recently got the Diztronic Voyeur case that recently got back in stock on Amazon with a new revision. I like the case because it's partially clear in the back where the Nexus logo is but this part isn't TPU so it won't turn yellow. I also think it's a good thickness as well (thick enough to provide some fall protection but thin enough to be pocketable and light). Buttons are still clicky with the case on but still require intentional clicking so it's pretty good about not turning on in your pocket. Overall, great case for the price.

EDIT: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0198W4B3M

u/TTwoTerror · 5 pointsr/GooglePixel

These cases actually have a sandstone feel to the back similar to the Oneplus One. I had one of these for one of my devices and absolutely loved it.

Pixel:

https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Slim-Case-Google-Pixel/dp/B01LX2EVK0/ref=sr_1_26?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1478315935&sr=1-26&keywords=google+pixel+case

The point of these slim cases in my opinion is to protect from scratches from in your pocket or sliding across a table rather than dents and dings that you'd get if you dropped the device. I'd recommend this from personal use. It is slim, protective, and aesthetically pleasing.

Pixel:

If you're looking for a quality slim case as per reviews. I'd suggest looking at this case.

EDIT: Added more cases.

u/SLabrys · 5 pointsr/iPhoneX

Have you tried Pitaka ?

u/optikalblitz · 5 pointsr/iphone

Not a direct answer to your question, but I found Pitaka’s case and magnetic Qi charging vent clip to be the best combination. The steel plate that is molded into the case is circular which allows you to keep all wireless charging capabilities.

Magnetic Qi Mount

Mag Case

They also make a tougher case if you don’t like the slimline.

Hope this helps! I love my Pitaka stuff.

u/eriknokc · 5 pointsr/iphone

I got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid crystal clear case and I really like it since it shows off the color of my XR.

u/iMbalanceD1 · 4 pointsr/MotoX

+1 for Hula case. That's what I have on mine and it's great. It's just slightly thicker on the back than I would want but otherwise I like it.

I will also highly recommend the Unicorn Beetle Supcase (http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Unicorn-Motorola-Release-Premium/dp/B00N3VHD6C) as I used it on my moto x 1st gen and it was good. I wish the back were a bit clearer on it tho.

u/bringdownthesky · 4 pointsr/GooglePixel

I'm also a fan of the Spigen thin fit cases and was bummed that it wasn't available for the Pixel XL. I took a $13 gamble on this Maxboost mSnap Thin Case on Amazon and am super pleased. I took a few shitty quality pictures of it. Sorry - my home office is super dark. http://imgur.com/a/Ybhbi

u/zeebs758 · 4 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I use the Spigen Tough Armor case and love it. I've been using it since April of 2017 for the S8+ but they do make it for the S8 as well. Never had any issues with it. I've dropped my phone a lot and its been fine. I use fingerprint scan to unlock my phone and the case helps line up my finger to do it. It doesn't cover up the bottom so it won't help you there.

u/TheNthMan · 4 pointsr/iphone

I use the Pitaka Magcase Pro and Pitaka magnetic charging mount. They have a thinner Magcase, but I prefer the feel of squared sides then the rounded for the iPhone X size (and smaller) phones. To me, rounded edges are much more comfortable on larger phones like the plus sizes.

Pitaka Case

Compared to most cases, Lower than average protection, much higher than average look and feel. The former of which is easier to swallow with AppleCare

Easy-Macro - Bracelet-Macro +4,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BQ3ECLS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It's a pretty cheap lens, but really high quality!

u/hherbzilla · 3 pointsr/LGG3

I'm currently sporting the Spigen ULTRA HYBRID Series [Gunmetal]. I've been a fan of Spigen cases from past phones, and am liking it for the LG G3. The only oddity is that it has the antenna cutout. Otherwise, looks good, feels good.

Looks like the Spigen version of the Supcase Unicorn Beetle.

u/darklord314159 · 3 pointsr/LGG3

In my opinion I wouldn't get this case. It's a bumper case, yet it doesn't even protect the top and bottom at all. It's basically made to just protect the back of the phone from scratches. If anything I'd recommend the spigen air cushion case.

http://www.amazon.com/Spigen-CUSHION-Gunmetal-Scratch-Resistant/dp/B00K33N3GC

I have this case on right now and it feels really sturdy and could protect it from minor drops. The only down side to this case is that it has a cutout on the top left for the Korean version TV antenna. As long as you can deal with that, this case is awesome, not too thick but semi protective as well.

u/scy1192 · 3 pointsr/LGG3

I purchased this white Spigen case. It's the only white case I've seen that doesn't look like it was designed by a 12-year-old.

u/Capt_Curry1 · 3 pointsr/MotoX

That's for the 2013 model bud. The pics and the pricing justify the model. Also under specs it mentions Moto X rather than Moto X 2nd Gen. Read this post for info on Moto X 2014 cases. If you want an Otterbox then check their site.

I myself own a SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series and its one solid case that offers maximum protection without any cost on size/sturdiness. If you want something similar to the Otterbox Defender try the SUPCASE Unicorn Heavy Duty Series. Either way you can't go wrong and I highly recommend that case. If you have any questions feel free to comment or pm me.

u/carajean2725 · 3 pointsr/MotoX

Yeah they are $20 then $10.20 to ship! I almost bought one but instead picked up http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N3VHD6C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Awesome case by the way. Got it for $20 with next day shipping. Not exactly a bumper but the back is clear and very thin.

u/Papander · 3 pointsr/oneplus

Why would they do that? It's like saying that Nvidia should give discount to those who bought the earlier version of their graphics card.

And as far as I know you always had the option to buy the TUDIA Slim-Fit CYGEN Dual Layer Protective Case if you wanted more protection.

u/Swarfega · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

A fitBAG (pouch) as I dislike cases. I am careful with my device but managed to drop it in the bag the other day when carrying too much stuff and scuffed the top corner where the phone is exposed. Gutted :(

I also have a Diztronic for times where taking it in and out the pouch is a hinderance such as at the gym or when my clumsy wife wants my phoen to take photos. It's a pretty decent minimalistic thin(ish) case to be honest.

I also have two (they sent my order twice) Rhino Shield Crashguard bumper cases. I couldn't get on with it as the bumper just makes the phone bulky. If someone in the UK wants to buy this unopened white case and screen protector I will be happy to sell it.

u/LuckyBahamut · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

Screen: intelliARMOR tempered glass

Daily driver: Speck Candyshell Grip

When I want something a bit slimmer and more understated: Diztronic Matte TPU

Pre-ordered a Crash Guard bumper and hoping that intelliARMOR gets around to making a rear screen protector so I can use the bumper as my daily driver, and switch to the Case Mate for more rugged protection when I hike/work/etc.

u/Korinu · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I just got Diztronic's Voyeur Case (availability seems to come and go) and I think it does the best job of preserving the phones looks. It's slim and has awesome buttons and the clear plastic back is actually really grippy. I feel a case is more necessary for grip than massive protection because this phone is ridiculously slippery.

u/luusyphre · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I have the black Diztronic but they have the Voyeur Series which has a clear back. The top and sides are still covered, but I tried many different cases and settled with Diztronic because their buttons were the best by far.

This

Used them on my 6S Plus, 7 Plus, my whole family uses them now. Got a couple friends too.

Reason being is it's super thin, extremely grippy and easy on/off. Quality is 10/10.

u/xen0cide · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

I'm currently using the Neo Hybrid case by Spigen. It's pretty sturdy and looks terrific. The one thing I don't like about it is how slippery it is, and there are some "sharpish" edges that I prefer were more rounded.

It's mostly slippery when using it in one hand, which I do often while on the bus.

Pretty good though, and I don't know if I should buy a different case.

u/akchicken · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

I have really enjoyed my case. I bought it because it is so thin!

u/iampete · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

I have this one from Maxboost. It's probably the thinnest case I've ever had, and I go for thin. My wife has that Caseology Parallax case everyone bought a couple of weeks ago, and it actually feels like a different (bigger) phone when you see them side by side.

u/Seraphus · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

I've had smart phones since before the first iPhone and I've never used cases. I got a few for the Pixel. I love thin and minimalist design so I tried to get the least intrusive cases possible. My favorite ended up being the Bear Motion case with sandstone texture. Here it is if you're interested:

https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Slim-Case-Google-Pixel/dp/B01MA16WSH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479960381&sr=8-1&keywords=bear+motion

I got 4 other slim cases, maybe I'll post my reviews on them sometime if people are interested.

u/triveditp · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

Hey you can try this case by Spigen:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XP4FP8N/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527600582&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=s8%2Bplus%2Bspigen%2Bcase&dpPl=1&dpID=41ySH5WLRrL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1

I've been using it for the last year, dropped it multiple times with no impact noticeable on the phone. Pretty great case and easy to take on and off.

u/Lawls91 · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

Spigen has some great cases, I personally went for this one, it's super slim but it would cover up the rear decal.

u/tactiphile · 3 pointsr/GearVR

I have a Spigen ThinFit for my S8+. I have to remove it to use GearVR.

u/thomasbihn · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

All those look really nice...except I'm not the biggest fan of the electroplated ones.

I picked up the Spigen thin fit case for my S8+.

It's 0.4 in thick (total).

u/dreamtreedown · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

Spigen Tough Armor is another rugged option, also close to $20. I'm currently sporting the Unicorn Beetle Pro. It looks big and rugged but doesn't add nearly as much bulk as it looks like in the photos and the buttons are a breeze to press.

If you want sleeker, the Neo Hybrid is a good option too.

No matter what, you'll want a case that protects the screen by having a "lip" on the top and bottom

u/ScottyNuttz · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I love the quality and design of Spigen cases.

I'm looking at the Thin Fit, the Liquid Air Armor or the Ultra Hybrid for the normal Galaxy S8.

u/SpiderDice · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I just received the Liquid Air Armor from Spigen, and I really like the feel of it. It's like that harder rubber, and the back has a nice pattern to it that provides grip. I've tried many different Spigen cases, and for me, the Thin Fit over time developed scratches that wouldn't go away. So that's why I opt'd for the Liquid Air this time.

I like and recommend Spigen cases to everyone.

u/Klubhead · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

I have quite a few:

MNML (original & updated versions)

Vinve clear TPU

Maxboost

Spigen Thin Fit

Spigen Liquid Crystal

Spigen Rugged ARmor

Nillkin

Bear Motion

My absolute favorite of the bunch and the case I keep going back to is the Bear Motion. Those white specs in the pics aren't nearly as visible in person and the become even less visible over time.

If I'm doing anything where I think dropping my phone is a possibility I sport the Spigen Rugged ARmor.

I usually run a screen protector and a slickwraps skin, but coming from a smaller device(iPhone 8) and wanting to show off that sweet, sweet banana color, I’ve been switching between two.

I’ve been using the Spigen ultra hybrid - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GHMQDCJ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_l2U3BbSP5VKVK

As well as a go link banana leaf case - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9R57Q8/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_m5U3Bb8XE7E47

Spigen is the jam for showing off the color and doesn’t add much bulk. Neither case interfere with the screen protector.

Macro lenses like this one are pretty cheap. And if you havve a premium phone like an iPhone or Galaxy, there are probably some model specific options. Note, I have no idea if that one is any good. Just the first results that popped.

I have this and I love it.

u/TomMelee · 2 pointsr/LGG3

I've got the Spigen AirCushion

FWIW, I think that as much as anything, the electrode placement on the sticker is the key here. A less good connection will work fine w/ no case, it has to be nearly perfect to work with a case. I do cellphone repair and so I have some weird tools, I actually didn't put the sticker on the way it's recommended.

I removed the back of the phone, placed 3m double sided 2mm tape on the battery, aligned the sticker perfectly, then replaced the cover and tested. When it worked, I removed the backing from the sticker itself and reattached the cover, pushed it down, then pulled it back off. The sticker coating is stronger than the 2mm tape, so it pulled it off, then I smooshed down the sticker for perfect adhesion and put it back on. Alignment is perfect, I couldn't make it work at ALL otherwise.

u/CZbwoi · 2 pointsr/MotoX

Buy one of these, Supcase.

All of them have a see-through back cover(except the pure black/black one) and they have good grip and fixes all your slipping problems, I just got mine yesterday.

Choose which one you want. Frost Clear/Black goes with anything, as does just regular old Frost Clear, but that one is too plain and...milky white for me. On the other hand you could just do Black/Black for blackness or choose one of those color options.

2 Moto X's I'm currently holding, the black one and one of the blue ones(Navy I think). While the black one has a softer fabric feel and the blue one is more plastic, they both slip sometimes. I'd say go with one of these cases.

u/heelhook79 · 2 pointsr/oneplus

I got this case instead: http://www.amazon.com/TUDIA-Slim-Fit-CYGEN-Protective-OnePlus/dp/B00NJBVH6S but the glass screen protector.

I went to the google search bar and enabled google now and trained it to hear "Ok, Google". I got swiftkey and set the keyboard to 70% of the screen so I can text one handed.

u/DirtyNoona · 2 pointsr/oneplus

Thanks for a very kind user from this subreddit, I've been liberated from my old cracked cellphone :). I received my phone no later than a week (business days) after it was processed; placed the order on the 18th, received it earlier today (27th).

I ordered the Tudia Slim-Fit Dual Layer case along with a Nillkin 9H tempered glass for my OPO, and both of them feel great; couldn't be happier with my purchase. Some people have said the Tudia case is a bit tough to take off the phone, but that isn't the case for me. The Nillkin screen protector feels very nice. I've never had a tempered glass screen protector; so I can't really compare it to anything other than that it feels 1000x better than a film screen protector. I'll admit, I wanted to put a film protector over my Nillkin for more protection, but I'm pretty confident that my screen will stay safe regardless with these two products.

The phone itself is a beauty. I underestimated how good it would feel until I actually picked it up. The sandstone texture on the back of the phone feels amazing, I thought it would feel a bit too rough, but it feels really nice. I am sad that I don't trust myself with this phone without a case though. Size doesn't feel too big (although I do have fairly large slender hands) and the power and volume buttons feel tactile (some have said it's too recessed, not in my case). Coming from a phone where the power button was located at the top of the phone, the side power button feels much more ergonomic and easier to access of course. I do wish that the screen resolution was quad HD (like the LG G3), but I really can't complain about anything at this price point.

I made a thread asking users about what they didn't like about the OPO, and my biggest concerns were the yellow tint at the bottom of the screen (that was only an early production defect AFAIK), camera responsiveness, random resets (with the new update), and battery issues. So far, the only thing that I have encountered is a bit of the camera lag (hopefully they will fix this with a patch), and what seems to me like poor reception :S. With my old phone, I was able to get 70-80% bars with LTE signal, but on the OPO, I'm getting around 60% bars with E/H+/3G signal, not LTE. My carrier operates LTE on bands 700/1700/2600, all of which OPO is listed to support :. I haven't tested this outside of my neighborhood; so I'll find out if I can get LTE anywhere tomorrow.

Overall; I love this phone. NO RAGRETS.

I went with the MIME Ghost Glass tempered screen protector and a TUDIA Ultra Slim LITE TPU. The Ringke Fusion had too much gap above/below the screen protector which showed the metallic trim around the display. All three TUDIA cases fit roughly the same, but I prefer the plain black one. It was pretty much a perfect fit for what I wanted.

This seems to be the most protective whilst not looking insane i have found yet, i especially like how much the case borders go above the screen so it literally CANT get damaged when dropped on a flat surface. Aditionally i would recomend buying a tempered glass screen protector as it has saved countless of people thier screens.

TLDR: Minimal case made of quality TPU, multiple horrendous drops and still in pristine condition. Give it a go, if not you can always return it.

I've been using a Diztronic case, it's pretty minimal, photos don't do it justice. Been using the same case since I got the phone in Nov.2016. I've dropped the phone many times, haven't broken it yet. It also provides a lip if you will for the front so you can put your phone face down if you wanted. Also the buttons are covered but they are easy to push and not mushy at all, you still get good tactile feedback.

Also I'm not sure why but every other TPU case I've seen usually feels cheap and grainy or its smooth glossy plastic which makes it feel even cheaper. Diztronic does a good job of making dense matte TPU.

Spigen is probably your best bet. Currently rocking the [Neo Hybrid] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LWMSRA4/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it has a good trade-off of being slim while still offering protection. Comes in colors to match the phone.

u/CheekyGoose · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

$42 seems a bit much for one screen protector, but from what I've seen, the Whitestone Dome is an excellent screen protector because the adhesive glues the entire panel, rather than just the sides.

Personally, I recommend any TPU screen protector. They tend to be a lot cheaper (like $3-8 on Amazon). A TPU protector is a rubbery layer that doesn't offer quite as much protection, but it gets the job done if you pair it with a case that has a lip.

I've been using this one from Amazon for about two and a half years which came in a two-pack, but I'm still on the first one: https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Friendly-Skinomi-Anti-Bubble-Application/dp/B071RFGSBF
and the case I use with it is the Spigen Tough Armor: https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Tough-Armor-Designed-Galaxy/dp/B06XP4FP8N

u/ShruTwo · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I've used Spigen tough armor series for years on my devices and love them. They're still slim and stylish while offering moderate-high protection.

Regarding the screen cover, I've never had luck with glass screen covers with edged phones. The adhesive usually sucks and you lose touch sensitivity. Of course my experiences are my own and others might disagree.

My current case on a midnight black s8+: https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Kickstand-Extreme-Protection-Technology/dp/B06XP4FP8N/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492785953&sr=8-1&keywords=spigen+tough+armor+case+galaxy+s8+plus

I think it looks pretty slick.

u/VirtuousNerO · 2 pointsr/SamsungS8

I recommend that the spiggen tough armor series. I have been trusting spiggen for years and they are tried and true inexpensive, quality cases. Of course If you want a "pretty" you'll sacrifice protection and quality most of the time. I haven't found a good screen protector though. I have the Curved Ballistic glass from tech armor on my phone right now and I don't like it. The edges have line on them almost like the glass had t o be broke to bend down. That and they onlu have adhesive at the top and bottom of the screen. I dropped it earlier and the screen protector moved and I had to fix it.

Edit: If you do go spiggen don't buy from them directly. You can get the case half off their price from Amazon. Here's a link (I forget how to make a word a link, sorry: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XP4FP8N/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/fingers-crossed · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

Samsung Internet is a great browser, it supports extensions so you can add an adblocker easily.

Disconnect Pro (~$25) & AdHell 2 (free) are highly recommended system wide adblockers, I use AdHell and am pretty happy with it overall.

I recommend Google Photos for a gallery for the cloud storage, but if you don't care about that the stock Gallery app is fine.

Any bloat on your phone you can "disable" which will stop it from updating and clear it from your app drawer, long press to do this.

Textra is a good texting app if you don't like the stock one, but the stock one works fine for my needs.

Check out Gboard and SwiftKey as alternatives to the Samsung Keyboard, I think they're both superior.

I use this case and am happy with it.

u/yoloswagapoo · 2 pointsr/samsung

I just picked up this one today, and it looks fantastic. I also have the Zagg Sapphire screen protector on, so I'd say it's quite well protected.

u/MackinB · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

It does, this phone is amazing. You're going to love it.

As for feel, I was a little worried that the height of the S8 would make one-handed use difficult with my smallish hands. But it's actually easier than with the M8, since the S8 is more narrow. Just get a case that provides better grip, this thing is slippery as hell without one. I'm using Spigen Thin Fit, which doesn't add much bulk and feels much more secure in my hand.

u/The_tolstoy · 2 pointsr/Galaxy_S8

Spigen Thin Fit. It's perfect for this phone.

u/2defmouze · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

YMMV - but the Neo Hybrid case is the only case I've ever had a phone in when it dropped and screen shattered. I would never use a Neo Hybrid again. The hard portions around the border actually make drop damage much harsher on the underlying phone.

I strongly recommend the Spigen Rugged Armor if you like the general look and feel of the Neo Hybrid. I've had my last 3 phones in Rugged Armor's and dropped plenty of times with zero damage.

Just my thoughts and experience.

u/yugi_motou · 2 pointsr/iphone

Take a look at totallee on Amazon. Seems to be very thin and pricing is competitive. Comes with prime shipping as well. It will not protect from hard falls but it will prevent scuffing from minor falls. The scuffs will go on the case rather than your steel band. Spigen actually also has a super thin series that might offer some protection in a thin form factor, it’s grippy so you might actually drop your phone less

No, I don't think it does, and I actually like it that way. I use a glass screen protector, and this way I can see the Edge Notifications.

I do wish Pitaka would start making their MagCase soft-touch carbon-fiber aramid case for the Samsung phones. They are just amazingly thin and tough, and they have built-in strips for magnet mounts that don't interfere with the wireless charging.

I'm using the Ringke Fusion-X which feels grippy and protective but has a clear acrylic back which still shows off the shiny blue back.

The back (and front) are gorilla glass so I wouldn't really worry about scratches. Dropping/shattering are the bigger issues.

I'm extremely careful with my phones and basically never drop them, but I want them to last for years so I would never risk being without a case. I don't even like how phones feel without cases - they're way too slippery and difficult to hold. (My old Nexus 6P was the same way)

Its super slim, light and strong. It keeps the original look and feel of your X but keeps it safe. I would like to add that it keeps the Moto dimple uncovered so that you can use it. Personally, I've used Spigen cases for a while now and they've always served me well. I'd have opted for the Neo Hybrid for my Pixel is they made it, unfortunately, they don't. That being said, I'm very happy with the Rugged Armor case.

u/ackthbbft · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid, which is good with the combination of rubberized case with hard frame, but that frame has already cracked at thinner points where it is open for the headset jack and power. I may look at a new case.

I've had mine since launch and I have one near the top of my screen. Invisible in most situations. None on the back glass. I had a relatively thin case but I still didn't like the additional thickness so I only used it for a couple of weeks. That actually damaged the phone more than anything else. It rubbed around 3 of the corners and now I have silver spots on my black Pixel XL :( First time that's ever happened. It was mint prior to that. As someone who came from a cracked Moto X 2014... and have had the Axon 7 for a week now, I highly recommend it. It's certainly bigger, better and faster. With the Nova Launcher, I honestly have it customized mostly to the way I like.

The included screen protector/case gets the job done. I just ordered new screen protectors because I royally screwed up and got some big particles under the protector and it's screwing with my OCD.

As for the case, I'm sticking with the included one until I get tired of it. I am looking at the follow though:

CoverON-Case... the black & clear one

Suensan Ultra Lightweight Defender I did have something similar for my Moto X and it looked great, but provided like 0 drop protection since it didn't go all the way around. But do love the minimal look.

Of course the spigen has been recommended a lot.

It's about the same. It's even less snug than stock where the volume and power buttons are.

So, coincidentally, I just received the spigen case as an early Christmas present... I have to say it feels premium and rugged compared to the stock and J&D case.. It's very snug all over and I doesn't feel larger in the hand. OP, I'd get the spigen case, you won't regret it.

This spigen case? if so, how is it? I like rubber cases because I feel like they protect the phone from drops more.

However, for that price I'd suggest you check out the Spigen case.

My boss dropped and scratched the hell out of his front glass. Before that he ran it naked and slid it on the table a lot in meetings. So that scratched the back, my new co-worker got his xl so he could get the 2xl. Another co-worker couldn't even tell after a case went on it and a glass screen protector.

I had this case for a long time, Uber thin so it will hide the metal blemish now. Might even hide the nic in the glass.

Pretty much as thin as you'l get. Reminds me of the Spigen Thin Fit I had on my S7 that I loved and for some reason they never made for the Pixel.

I looked at the Bear Motion as well, but I preferred the finish of this one over the kind of speckled finish of the Bear Motion.

Bear Motion slim case.

It provides minimal protection, but looks and feels good. I also use a glass screen protector so the screen does not get scratched up.

I got the Bear Motion and Trianium cases on Amazon. The Trianium is a bit more protective, but a little slipperier than I like. It also seems to have a pretty tall, sharp lip on the front. The Bear Motion is very minimal, not protecting the top/bottom edge, but I love the sandstone, grippy feel.

Still wish there was a Pixel XL version of this case though. Loved it on my 6P.

I haven't had the chance to play extreme co op yet but everything else is fine all the vortex and strong attacks are smooth and clear. The only possible drawback i would say is probably since the screen is curved your finger might cause your character to run off depending on how you hold your phone, but i have purchased a case and that is no longer a problem.

I recomend the spigen tough armour case with kickstand i bought it on amazon for sale for about $20 depending on the color here is a link in case your interested

I might do this as well. I put the plate inside my clear case with a small piece of tape and it works great.

I am planning on getting a better case but I don't think putting the plate inside would work on the Spigen Tough Armor case.

u/ogSPLICE · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I have one Neo Hybrid for when i need to be careful with my phone, and right now im trying to find 1 super thin, almost non existent case, for when im at an fancy event, or meeting, or elegant dinner party. This way i can still have the super thinness of the phone, but avoid scratching up the back.

Ive tried the Annceer case, which is very minimal, but just feels and looks dirty, by the design, so im sending this back.

I tried the Elago , this case is also thin, but just way to slippery, like a wet bar of soap. - going back

The Spigen thin air so far is my preferred super thin case of choice. Has enough grip on it too. I just wish the camera cut outs were the same as the Elago or Anncer.

and im currently waiting on the MNML case to ship so i can try that one out

u/SoldierZulu · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Second one is way too thick on the edges. My wife has the first one on her iPhone 6S and it's a great case. Buttons are free floating and nice and clicky. Does scratch/scuff really easy though, just FYI. Might want to replace it every 6 months like she does because it just looks dirty and ruins the clarity after enough regular use. You'll see.

I've ordered 3 Spigen cases so far:

[Spigen Liquid Crystal Galaxy S8 Plus Case] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP4QY2B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_l1Esrmt4SeapO)

[Spigen Thin Fit Galaxy S8 Plus Case with SF Coated Non Slip Matte Surface - Black] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP4LGHJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_yqDyxiHODk9R9)

[Spigen Air Skin Galaxy S8 Plus Case - Black] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP5JSRL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oky.ybYW997M0)

I've only had the chance to try the first two, and the Liquid Crystal case sucks. The buttons aren't separate from the rubberish case and they're mushy. I won't deal with mushy buttons.

Ordered the Thin Fit instead and it's better but the material is a cheap hard plastic that reminds me of lower quality android phones or the older S2/S3 models. There are also breaks in the corners so you can snap it in because the plastic is so hard, and it kinda ruins the rounded, flowing aesthetic. The hard plastic cutouts on the bottom for ports and such cut into my fingers when the phone rests on it and that sucks. The areas for buttons are cut out completely which is really nice, since I like direct access to buttons. Definitely better than the Crystal, still not great at all.

The third gets here tomorrow and I'll review it when it does. It still has cutouts for the buttons which I like but they are smaller, which means more protection which I also like. The material also has no corner breaks and it's very thin while also tinted black and partially transparent, so hopefully some of the shine and aesthetics come through. The best part about it for me that I think I'll like the most is that the entire bottom is cut out, so I can rest my phone more comfortably on my fingers. I know it's almost practically just a skin on the back since it's so thin, but it has adequate corner protection and I take good care of my phones. Main goal is to avoid scratches and the occasional light fall.

If the last one doesn't work out I'll just get a transparent Neo Hybrid (first one you linked, not OP's). I at least know the quality of that case. I just wanted something a bit thinner this time around. Oh well.

Spigen Ultra Thin is the case I went with for my S8. I just got it in the mail a day ago. It doesn't seem the best for drops, but it's sturdy enough without gutting the amazing design of the S8.

If you're looking for something where drop protection is a bigger priority you could maybe go with the Spigen Neo Hybrid which looks to be a tad bit sturdier. There are bulkier cases, but I can't stand much more bulk that these two cases outside of maybe a Rhinoshield bumper.

> Can someone recommend a tpu case thats won't slide out of my hands, even without the cutouts? I find the matte ones are always too smooth and slippery.

I can recommend the Spigen Neo Hybrid though I'm not sure if you'll find it too slippery or not. It does have a bit of a matte back but I don't find it slippery.

> If I use an adapter, will all of my quick charge 2 power banks and chargers still charge at quick charge 2 speeds?

A slight aside, but in addition to QC2 (and QC3 and 4 as they are backward compatible), the S8/S8+ will also fast charge with chargers that provide 3A over USB-C (will usually be USB-PD/Power Delivery chargers although I don't think the S8/S8+ actually supports USB-PD itself, just the 5V @ 3A that the USB Type C standard allows for). Both QC (9V @ 1.67A) and USB-C (5V @ 3A) will charge equally fast (15W) when the chargers support either of those.

Any recommendations? I've been looking at this one https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Liquid-Galaxy-Durable-Samsung/dp/B06XP87DGC/ but I'm worried the buttons aren't completely covered, it looks weird in the images, like there is some gaps in between. u/PlNKERTON · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

The Spigen Neo Hybrid isn't any good. It's very flexible and as a result if you were to drop this thing and it landed even partially face down, the case couldn't prevent the screen from coming into contact with the ground - you'd have a shattered screen. The material is also very slippery. The plastic is so thin that it's very flexible. This case doesn't provide any sense of security with the phone.

I had the Neo Hybrid case for my S6, went through two back to beck in a short period of time. The concept is nice, but the quality wasn't there.

I moved on to the Spigen Thin Fit Galaxy S8 Case and also have one for my S9 now.

All that being said, in my experience Spigen is very responsive and will work with you to solve the problem. They replaced my first thin fit case on my S8 when the rubberized coating started peeling off at no cost.

u/scgf01 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I have a Spigen Thin Fit black case ready to pop on my S8 as soon as I get it and have pre-ordered a Spigen AirSkin case in black. The thinner the better for me - I use a case to prevent minor scratches rather than as drop-protection.

I was going to get one of those until I noticed the top and bottom edge are exposed. Seems like a disadvantage but I'm not sure how much I'd notice it in real life. That's what I got and I really like it. Combined with a tempered glass screen protector I can't really see why I'd need more protection. This case keeps the camera and screen off of any surface the phone is sat on which is the primary reason I wanted a case.

u/MrChromebox · 1 pointr/Pixel2XL
u/TheBeardedSingleMalt · 1 pointr/Pixel2XL

At this point I think I've spent more money on screen protectors than I have on the phone itself. All the ones I've gotten either don't stick, don't fit my spidgen case or have just been downright junk. I don't like the overall thickness of it, nor that it doesn't have a tempered glass protector for the screen but I'll probably stick with my Unicorn Beetle case until it's time for a new phone.

My next phone won't have a beveled edge.

Most slim cases like Peel’s will tend to get like that. I’ve tried both the Spigen and Elago thin cases and through time they tend to get loose and let dirt in between. I would highly recommend not going with these types of cases.

You might want to just look into this snap on cases like the following :

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-iPhone-Premium-Coating-Compatible/dp/B074CM6PRW

u/Nayiko · 1 pointr/oneplus

The most common one I've seen people talk about is the Spigen one, but it's only up for preorder so no idea when it'll be actually released. There is one that comes up on a few sites by Ringke. ( https://www.amazon.com/Ringke-Fusion-X-Designed-Resistant-Protection/dp/B07Q6GZXZK/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=ringke+oneplus&qid=1558147520&s=wireless&sr=1-4 ) It looks pretty hideous though so I'd probably pass on it.

That Olixar one looks pretty good and the screen protector is a bonus. Case options actually had me second guessing my color choice for a bit - I'm waiting on my Nebula Blue but most cases are black which defeats the purpose of having a unique color, so I'll have to wait for some more options or get that hideous Ringke as a temporary measure.
