If you want to try a variety of things then ento market is probably going to be your best bet. I've heard good things about them, though I've never ordered from there personally. They have lots of different kinds of insects so you can order a little bit of everything to try them out. I think crickets are a good place to start as they're really versatile. They can be tossed with oil and seasonings to make snacks (or bought pre-seasoned), substituted into many dishes if you just order the dry roasted kind (cricket stir-fry anyone?), and they can even be powdered and used as a high-protein flour substitute for baking.

There's actually also a surprising amount of insects available on amazon. You could get something like this if you want to get a variety pack. I would shop around on both sites and compare prices. Be careful with the pictures and read the package weight carefully, as a lot of times the pictures for insect products make it look a lot larger than it actually is.

You can find this sort of candy sold by Kracie. Amazon has a lot of it.

You seem to do a lot of outdoors type stuff, how about a waterproof iphone case. a recovery strap incase you ever get suck or need to pull someone out.

I went to China when I was 11 (I'm from Michigan). It was the fourth or fifth day, and we always got to eat breakfast at our hotel. The spread was amazing... so much you could choose from, they had American selections, or if you were feeling adventurous they had authentic Chinese meals too.

On the Chinese side, there were these hard boiled eggs. They had a dark tinge to the shell, and when you opened them the egg whites were more of a cream/peach color. I'm 11 and figured fuck it, i'll try it... OMG it was the best hard boiled egg I ever had!! It had this tart flavor immediately, but it was followed by a sweet undertone, idk, it was just amazing!!

A day before we left, I had to ask our translator how these were made BAD IDEA NEVER DO THIS IF YOU LIKE IT!!!!!.

Her: "Oh those, the're just horse piss eggs."

Me: (with a dumbfounded look on my face): "Excuse me? What?"

Her: "Horse piss eggs, they boil eggs then soak them in horse piss for 3 days."

tl;dr: Ate hardboiled eggs that were marinated for 3 days in hose pee. I had at least 2 dozen over the course of 10 days

SWEDISH FISH is fantastic. It's basically the perfect candy. Not to hard and not to soft. Whenever I crave something sweet, this is my "go to snack".
